You recording?
>> Hello, Mim.
It's very nice to meet you today.
>> Nice to meet you, too.
>> You're speaking with USA Fox. Welcome to the channel. I'm here to give a voice to the voiceless.
>> May I have your name?
>> Caitlyn.
>> Caitlyn. Okay.
How old are you, Caitlyn?
>> Yeah, I'm 31.
>> 31?
>> Where you from?
>> I am from Vermont.
>> Vermont?
>> Oh, shoot. Caitlyn, can you do me a favor? You think you're going to turn music off for >> All right, Vermont. What What brought you all the way out here?
>> Um, a relationship.
>> Um, a guy pretty much.
>> Yeah. Long story short, yeah.
>> And uh how long you been out here for?
>> A year and a half.
>> And where where's the guy at?
>> He went back home.
>> He went back home and left you out here pretty much.
What could you say it's been like?
>> It's hard out here. It's very hard. I just had a baby >> and I'm going through postpartum right now.
>> Oh, well, say congratulations on your baby.
>> Thank you.
>> I'm going through postpartum. I'm sorry to hear that. Um, what's the status with your baby?
>> I'm trying to fight for him. I just need to get a roof over my head pretty much.
Like I have to get either a room for rent or an apartment and then I have to get a job or state assistance and I have to take clean UAS. I just finished a mommy and me program. But because they're not letting me see him right now, I relapsed.
>> Oh, >> I didn't relapse on dope though >> until the baby was birth. Right. So >> he was a preeie.
>> When you was pregnant, was you using still? You was?
>> Yeah, I was using crack.
>> And you had the uh baby early pretty much.
>> Okay. Uh what's the baby's name?
>> Ziah.
>> Josiah. That's nice.
>> No, with a Z. Zessiah.
>> Oh, Zessiah. That's tough. That's tough.
>> Thank you.
>> Um you know the dad at all or?
>> Yeah, I know who the dad is.
>> Okay.
>> He's not in the picture though.
>> Not in the picture.
>> What's a normal day like out here for you now that you out here? pretty much waking up and going to make money.
>> Mhm.
>> Which I do dates.
>> What's that dating lifestyle like for you? What's it like running >> horrible streets?
>> Um, I've been beat with the metal pole.
I've had guns held in my head. I get robbed. I've been raped. Sucks.
>> Hey, >> that happens at least once a week for every single one of us working girls.
>> And uh what makes you continue doing it?
Trying to save up money and the addiction.
>> Okay. What are you currently addicted to?
>> Crack cocaine and ecstasy.
>> How long have you uh used these substances?
>> I've been using for the last 3 months.
>> And um how much are you making daily off of the dating?
>> Um I make actually quite a bit.
>> A good bit amount of money.
>> Yeah. because I don't charge anything under 30 and that's like literally for five minutes.
>> And uh >> and that's just for a hand job.
>> So like what's the most you be making?
>> Um the other day I actually made on one date I made 4,000.
>> Sheesh.
>> And I spent it all already.
>> You spent it all. You just spent 4,000 that fast. I >> got 500 saved.
Sheesh. What? You had a party or something?
>> Um, between getting high, like I had no clothes. I had nothing.
>> Okay. So, you >> I spent the rest of my money on clothes and a $250 bomb.
>> A $250 bomb. Hey, man. Mike got a little spending problem.
>> I do.
>> Uh, sheesh. Uh, so what is that date your a regular of yours or how you end up getting 4K out of it? actually really easily cuz he wants to hook up with me and I want what I want. So I just milk him for two or three days straight.
Mhm.
And um then you go back, you continue working the streets after the money's.
>> Mhm.
>> Is you said it's dangerous out here, right?
>> It is.
>> What's it like you know you get in a dangerous man's car? How do you know?
How can you tell? Um, sometimes the like the aura is like there's a negative aura. Sometimes they can play it off like they're the nicest people in the world and then they just snap. And when that happens, you just got to think quick and try to make sure your life is like you don't die. Make sure your life is saved.
This is their life or your life.
>> Mhm.
>> And just know I'm coming home to my kids.
>> I heard that. How long have you been selling your body for?
>> I was forced into it when I was 14. So on and off when I was 14. Since I was 14.
>> Okay. Jeez. You was forced into it? Who the who the hell would do that?
>> A guy from Harlem.
>> A guy from Harlem.
You ran into a pimp out Vermont.
>> Yeah. The worst of the worst. A gorilla pimp.
>> I ain't even ask you what was your childhood like growing up? How the hell you end up in these situations?
>> Um, I was in and out of the system. Um, I was raped as a as a kid. I was three.
I was molested on and off, raped by my dad. Like, >> oh, >> I didn't have the bestest upbringing.
>> Where was your mom at?
>> She was the reason why I was raped. She was knotted off on pills and she was drunk and she used to always bring different men home every week, like literally every day of the week. Mhm.
>> And when she nodded off, he wanted what he wanted.
>> I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for you. I know you who I am. I wouldn't be who I am today if nothing happened to me.
>> Right. Right.
That should be like all your motivation to get your life together. You know, I I know you don't want to live like this, do you?
>> No. But sometimes you have to do illegal [ __ ] to get to the legal life.
>> Yeah. Ain't even about it being legal or illegal. like you're doing something you don't want to do at at the end of the day.
>> Yeah. But sometimes this lifestyle becomes addicting, >> right?
>> Like nobody understands that like selling drugs is an addiction. Like prostituting is an addiction.
>> It's the fast money. It's the fast life, >> right? That is true. That is true.
>> It's a whole another addiction just like gambling.
>> Mhm.
>> So So you don't dibble and dabble with that dope substance, do you?
>> Nope. I've been clean for a year and 4 months.
>> Mhm. Does the is the crack laced with the fentanyl?
>> I only go off certain people. So like I know for a fact that there's no fentanyl in the stuff I smoke.
>> Mhm.
>> But 90% of stuff out here. Yes.
>> Now, now you know this place is basically What is this place to you?
>> It's like the Bermuda Triangle. It's hell.
>> It's hell. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. You know, this place is basically hell. I'm looking for an apartment outside of Kensington.
>> Outside of Kensington. What's keeping you here, though? Do you have family here or anything?
>> Why not go back to Vermont?
>> I got too many warrants.
>> Huh? That's what you want.
>> Too many warrants.
>> Say that one more time.
>> Too many warrants.
>> Too many warrants. Oh, yeah. They lock you up, huh? What is it? Like retail theft or something like that?
>> Um, stolen vehicles, grand theft. Um, well, grand lararseny, petty larseny.
selling drugs, like stupid [ __ ] like that.
>> So, what made you and your boyfriend come out here in the first place?
>> Um, he wanted to go home. I wanted to turn myself in.
>> Oh, he lived out here >> and you you was already doing [ __ ] out there. You wanted to Sheesh. And And why he leave you?
>> Because I want to sell my body for him.
>> Oh, he ain't like you.
>> And he started becoming abusive, so I left.
>> Uh, >> I'm worth more than being abused.
Now, what's your feelings towards selling your body to it? Do you ever cry? Does it ever hurt?
>> Yeah, I cry sometimes, but sometimes like you just got to toughen it up and just remember your goal.
>> And how how do these uh your clients treat you? How do these guys treat you?
Um, now that I got a phone, I'm pretty much just dealing with regulars, but like jumping in and out of cars like I'm doing today. Um, it's scary and sometimes they treat you really nice and sometimes they treat you like straight garbage and they'll talk to you like you're a piece of dirt on the ground.
Like >> now after you use, are you just running back towards it or like what's what's >> Actually, like I'll go in the house and chill.
>> Go in the house and chill.
Mhm. And uh doing these dates out here, how much do you expect to make out here?
How much like what kind of type of dates do you come by?
>> Like like I said earlier, like the lowest I do is 30 for a hand job.
>> Mhm.
>> And then like I just go up on the price from there.
>> Oh, okay. Yeah. Whatever they ask for.
Cuz I >> I won't like like a guy just asked me for a date. He didn't have what I wanted. So you got to keep it like you got to keep going cuz the next one will have it.
>> Yeah. When I seen that car pull up and you walked up to it. Yeah. Okay. So, you get approached a lot cuz I see not too many not not too many women get approached a lot. Yo, you got >> And within 5 minutes of being outside, I'll at least have two cars pull up.
>> You say at least have two cars pull up?
>> Within the first 5 minutes of me being outside.
>> M.
>> But I I'm very picky about the dates that I choose now.
>> Mhm. And And what is it like your phone's not buzzing right now? Cuz you said >> it's on vibrate. I'm saying as far as like you're not getting no hits on your phone as far as the dating.
>> I am, but they're all for tonight.
>> Oh, okay. Okay.
Do you ever get uh personal with your dates at all?
>> What do you mean personal? Like >> they know your life and stuff.
>> No, I don't I don't do like anything like kissing, like I don't do nothing raw. Like anything that's intimacy wise, I won't do >> because for if I ever do get a man, I want to say something for him. Mhm.
>> Okay. You you preserving yourself for >> Yeah. The intimacy part. Yeah.
>> Right. And um Sheesh.
Do you see yourself uh where do you see yourself in the next 6 months?
>> In next 6 months, I see I'm hoping I see myself in an apartment having my child and being out of this lifestyle for good.
>> Mhm.
>> If you can make three wishes right now, what would they be? to get my son back, to have a place, and just to be comfortable in life. I don't want to be rich. I just want to be comfortable.
>> If any of your family members was to see this interview, how do you think they feel?
>> Honestly, they don't know me, so they have no reason to feel anything.
>> They don't know you at all. Mhm.
Do you see this place ever uh changing for the best, ever getting better?
Honestly, like they're trying to clean it up as like they're trying, but every time you take an attic off the street or you take a dealer off the street, 10 more come out.
>> Uh yeah, you got a point. You got a point cuz it's always >> they can clean it up as much as they can, but people are just getting more sneakier sneakier with it >> to the point where it's not noticeable.
Um, when's the last time you've been to the hospital or got it checked?
>> Checked every two to three weeks.
>> You do? Okay. Being as though you're a sexual I don't do nothing wrong. Like I still care about myself and I still love myself at the end of the day.
>> Mhm. Okay. All right. That's good. And do you have any uh any medical issues from using at all? No. That's good.
That's good. Are you religious?
>> Yes.
>> And what's your religion?
>> I believe in God. So Catholic.
>> All right. God bless you.
>> You know, he going to get you up out of this situation. You got to believe in him and pray.
>> I pray every day.
>> Heard that.
All right. I ain't going to hold you up too long. Um, what advice would you give a youth out here ripping and running the streets, following your same footsteps? What would you tell them?
>> Get out now while you have the chance before Kensington sucks you in. Cuz at the end of the day, I'm lucky I'm not letting Kensington suck me in completely.
>> Mhm.
>> I'm not allowing it. And let me tell you what, out here, you will be dancing with the devil.
>> I heard that.
I'd like to thank you for your time.
It's Kate, right?
>> Caitlyn.
>> Caitlyn like to thank you for your time.
Caitlyn, have you done an interview before? Oh, all right. I might have interviewed you or maybe someone else probably. You've been a wonderful interviewee for me. I make these videos for educational purposes only. God bless you.

Hey guys, are you all right?
Is he okay?
And the dog. Is the dog okay?
>> All right. Just making sure y'all All right.
Hello, ma'am.

>> Caitlyn.
>> Caitlyn. Okay. How old are you, Caitlyn?
>> I am 31.
>> Where are you from?
>> I am from Burlington, Vermont.
>> Okay. Vermont. All right. What was it like growing up out there?
>> Uh, I didn't have the bestest life.
>> What' you say? I'm sorry.
>> Said I didn't have the bestest life. And they have the bestest. Yeah. Yeah, I heard that. Was it difficult? Was it rough?
>> Yeah.
>> Two parent household?
>> No.
>> No.
>> System baby.
>> System baby. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
Um, so all right. So your childhood, you want to elaborate on that?
>> Uh, really? I just didn't have a really good childhood.
>> Didn't have a really good childhood. How How'd you end up out here, Kensington?
um ex-boyfriend >> pretty much. He brought me out here. It didn't work out and I stayed.
>> How long have you been here for?
>> I've been here for almost 2 years.
>> 2 years. Okay.
>> Yeah. I was in German Town and now here.
>> What could you say it's like?
>> Huh?
>> Could you say it's like out here?
>> Uh it's hard.
>> Yeah.
>> It's real hard. But when you're an addict, it doesn't matter how hard life gets, you just keep moving.
>> What's your current drug of choice?
>> Crack cocaine >> and ice.
>> And uh how often do you indulge in these substances?
>> Every day, all day, all night.
>> How how many times a day would you say?
>> Too many to count.
>> Too many to count.
>> How are you managing to make money to afford your substance?
>> Um I do dates.
Okay. Yeah. The dating.
>> Yeah.
>> Um like you do that on a regular basis.
>> Yeah.
>> How much money do you make would you say?
>> The lowest I do is 40. So >> which is not like back home? Cuz back home the lowest is 300.
>> Lowest was 300 at back home.
>> How long you been dating for?
>> Um I was forced into it when I was 14.
Oh, sorry to hear that.
>> Forced into it by someone.
>> A pimp.
>> By a pimp.
>> Yeah. The worst of the worst. I had a gorilla pimp.
>> Mhm.
Um, how did you get mixed up in that type of lifestyle?
>> Um, pretty much I was just an alcoholic and somebody invited me to a hotel room and it wasn't a party. It was a guy.
Well, the guy who invited me and then six other dudes and they raped me, beat me, and then posted me up.
>> Oh my god. I'm sorry to hear that.
>> How did you escape the gorilla pit?
>> Um, I actually uh he got locked up for a weekend and I ran I ran to Harlem and I met my baby daddy out there. My first baby daddy. Okay.
Glad you was able to get rid get away from the guy, you know.
You say you met your first baby dad out uh Harlem. Yeah.
>> Okay. You guys still together or?
>> No, we were only together for 9 years.
>> You were together for 9 years.
>> Yeah, we broke up what almost 10 years ago.
>> Where's uh your your kid at?
>> Um I actually have four living and one stillborn. And I actually just recently had a kid.
>> Okay. You just had a baby. Wow.
>> Yeah. In December.
>> Congratulations.
>> Thank you.
>> Um, is the baby in your custody or?
>> Um, I'm currently fighting for my baby.
>> All right.
>> Pretty much I'm just trying to get a roof over my head and then it'll be easy to get sober cuz being homeless, it's impossible sober.
>> That's your circumstance. You homeless right now?
Um you how how you come across a lot of dates and stuff like that. You still not >> depending on the day.
>> Okay. Still not able to get enough to like afford housing or you spend it all >> I'm an addict.
>> You spend it all on the drugs, huh?
>> The drugs um pretty much food, clothes, and then a place to stay at night if I can find a place to stay that night.
Mhm.
Um, you kind of forced into the dating stuff. You do you like it or you want to quit?
>> I hate it.
>> They're so like they treat us like [ __ ] >> The dates?
>> Yeah. Like sometimes they put hands on us, they'll rape us, pull out guns, weapons, rob us.
>> And then like you meet really good ones that actually want to help.
Sorry to hear all of that.
Um, being out here on these streets, do you know who the uh father of your baby is?
>> Yeah.
>> You know, >> he doesn't know though.
>> Oh, he doesn't even know.
>> No, he has a wife.
>> Oh man.
Wow. You You want to let him know at all one day?
No, cuz the way he acted when I was pregnant, he said there was no way it could be his.
The condom broke once and we were [ __ ] on a on an everyday basis.
>> Was he one of your dates or something?
>> Um, he started off as a date, but he was a case worker on one of the blocks, hustling.
>> Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, he probably still out here hustling on one of them blocks.
>> I don't even know. I don't even try to go over there to look.
>> Mhm. Do any of the hustlers try to like solicit you for dates? I mean, uh try to get you to date them for drugs and stuff like that.
>> Oh, all the time.
>> All the time. Do you do them?
>> I don't do nothing for drugs.
>> Don't do it for drugs.
>> Cash, right? Right.
>> Which I'm one of the very few girls out here that'll do that.
>> So, it's like I don't need to get well.
>> Yeah.
What's it like? Uh what's it like hopping in and out of these cars?
>> Scary.
But when you're high, you don't even think of the like of what could happen.
You don't know if it's a cop. You don't know if it's the last time you'll ever even get in a car.
>> And um what type of what type of um request do you get from these men?
>> Oh my god, you'd be surprised. Like the other day, I had this guy want to pay me to for me to jerk him off of my feet while he tickled my feet and he wanted me to laugh.
>> Okay. How How much he pay you for that?
>> 80.
>> Paid you $80 for that? Wow.
>> I'd rather do fetishes cuz then I don't have to suck or [ __ ] >> Mhm. How often do you have to do fetishes, dude? Or is that like a regular request fetishes or?
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, you come across a lot of men like that.
>> Um, what type of ages do you come across?
>> Anywhere between I have a limit like I have a rule any like nobody under 23.
>> Mhm.
>> Um, other than that like it's anywhere from 23 all the way up until like 80 90.
a 90-year-old man before.
>> You see yourself getting off these streets anytime soon?
>> Yes. I'm already getting tired of it and I just got to rehab two months ago.
You >> just did what? Two months ago.
>> I just got out of a Mommy and Me program two months ago and I'm already tired of it. I'm ready to go back.
>> Mhm. What was it like?
>> The Mommy Me program. I actually loved it. I got kicked out cuz I uh I got in a fight with somebody.
>> Got into a fight over what?
>> I found out my son was having seizures and pretty much like I just mentally couldn't handle it and they said something about my son and I just flipped.
>> I didn't mean to. It was just like a bunch of bottled up emotion inside me. I just had a baby.
Mhm.
Yeah, I'm sorry to hear all of that.
So, uh I was going to say what you know what they putting in these uh drug substances. What are they putting in the crack nowadays?
>> Damn. They're putting xylene fetti. They put what? Whatever's in the dope, they pretty much are put in the crack, too, which is sad. And um >> that's why I only like will buy off certain blocks.
>> And the meth, >> the ice, I only buy off one person.
>> Like I'm so scared to like turn back to dope.
I haven't played a year and two months.
>> This crack cracker upper and meth upper.
Okay. You use two uppers and um you use them together or No, you don't. You can't use >> well sometimes depending on the day.
Mhm.
>> If you can make three wishes right now, what would they be?
>> For me to get my son, for me to get a place, and for me to never use drugs again.
>> And uh what did you want to be growing up?
>> I always wanted to open my own restaurant. You >> still want to do that? Still can.
>> I love cooking.
>> You love cooking. What's your favorite dish? Um, I love making um like Puerto Rican food.
>> Okay. Are you Puerto Rican?
>> Um, I'm actually a mut.
>> Uh, what you mix with? You know, >> I'm Puerto Rican, Italian, German, Irish, and French.
>> Okay, that's cool. That's cool.
You managed to find time to sleep out here, get some rest?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> How often?
Um, pretty much like whenever my high starts wearing down and like if I can't like get a date or if I can't like get my high and I start getting real tired, like I'll just pay somebody to sleep.
>> You pay somebody to sleep.
>> Okay. So, like them cold nights?
>> Yeah.
>> Were you ever like stuck out here on the streets or No.
>> Um, the two really really cold nights that we had >> Mhm.
>> I think it was like below 7 or something like that. Um, I actually was outside, but it was before I started doing dates again.
>> It was before what?
>> I started doing dates again.
>> Doing dates again.
>> Oh, man. So, you really had it hard, huh?
>> It's what made me turn back to it.
>> Oh, man. The cold, huh? Just being out here stuck in the cold?
>> Yeah.
>> Sheesh. And um, how were you surviving?
Like, you just making it or >> just I'm just living.
>> What did it Did you feel Did you feel any pain?
feel pain every day.
>> Okay. Okay. No, cuz some people say >> emotionally and mentally is the worst.
The physical pain, it comes and goes.
>> Physical pain comes and goes.
>> The mental and the emotional pain.
That's the hardest.
>> Um, did you did you have any medication for your mental health?
>> I take meds every day.
>> Take what?
>> I take my meds every day.
>> What are they? That's good. I'm glad you do.
>> I take Cerakquil.
Um, I take a anti-depressant. I forgot what the name was. Starts with a Z. And then, um, I used to be on Suboxin. I don't take that no more.
>> And then, um, Trazone.
>> And And what do you take these medications for? What type of disorders?
>> Pretty much like Cerakol is pretty much just like I take it every morning, but it's mainly for like a PRN for my anger.
>> It's for what? I'm sorry.
>> It's a PRN for my anger. You're angry.
>> You You really have your temper tantrums, don't you?
>> I don't blame you. You You have it rough. Are you ever religious at all?
>> Yeah, I believe in God.
>> Believe in God. That's good. That's good. That's good. You got to have some type of faith out here, you know. Lord, see it. Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, he'll get you up out of here. I can't believe it. They got shoes up here. It's crazy. It's really the hood.
>> Yeah. Is it like that where you from?
Vermont?
>> No, Vermont is kind of country.
>> It's country.
>> Yeah, but it's like I lived in Harlem and South Carolina before. So, Philly is kind of a mix of all three places, but not the South though.
>> Yeah. What was South Carolina like?
>> I loved it.
>> You loved it out there.
>> Southern hospitality, the way men treated women. Like, >> it's a great place. Did you have any sobriety out there? Were you sober?
>> I was sober the whole time I was out there.
>> That's dope.
>> I was raising my kids.
>> You was raising your kids out there?
>> I was sober for 9 and a half years.
>> What made you come back out here then?
>> Uh, this is my first time actually out here, >> huh?
>> This is this is my first time out here.
>> Oh. And and how long?
>> I left and went back home to Vermont.
>> Oh. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay.
>> Yeah.
What's stopping you from, you know, >> going home?
>> Yeah, your kids are back home or >> I'm sorry.
>> I have too many warrants.
>> Too many warrants.
>> Too many penny charges.
>> Um, you don't got no charges out here or nothing?
>> Um, I've I went to jail out here for 8 months.
>> And And uh Connecticut didn't come pick you up?
>> No.
>> Oh, jeez. No, but um >> So you must have had some like light charges back home, man. You can't do that.
>> That's 31 penny charges.
>> 31.
>> Cuz of back when I was on dope, I used to steal cars.
>> Yeah, I feel you. I feel you. Dang.
Yeah, you got a lot lot over your head.
You know, you got to you got to make a decision. I say you just take that shot at rehab out here again cuz um I'm taking a lot of >> You had some success. You said 2 months.
That's a long time.
>> It's a long time. And that was before it was cold. So, how long ago was that?
>> No. Um, I actually went into rehab right before I um right after I gave birth.
>> Right after you gave birth. Okay.
>> Yeah. So, I was in rehab by December 18th. I gave birth. December 11th.
>> Oh, you just came back out here. You real fresh.
>> Yeah.
>> It's time to get up and get up out of here. You see what's happening to people, right?
>> They dropping dead.
>> Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
>> I'm glad I'm not on dope no more.
>> Yeah, getting off the dope is good, but you know the crack is a little tainted.
I know you say you got your right suppliers and stuff.
>> Everything has fetty in it. This is Philly.
>> Yeah, it's bad out here.
>> Kensington at that.
>> Mhm.
So, uh, what's your plans for the rest of the day?
>> Make some money.
>> Okay. How much?
>> Something to eat and then get high.
>> Mhm. M okay. I ain't I don't blame you as far as getting something to eat.
Um you got to make your money.
>> Yeah.
>> But uh you got to figure out how to turn this around. Oh, you got any uh family in your corner? Any of your loved ones?
Anybody that loves you out there that you know if they was to see this video, you think they come out here?
>> No.
>> Is this your first interview?
