One of the BEST Chinese street snacks

[00:00:00]Meet China's oldest street food. And in my opinion, it might even be one of the tastiest. It's called a guay.

[00:00:10]>> Basically, a bowl of dough filled with your choice of filling. For our first one here, we're going for pork. It's flattened until super super thin, then placed inside this hot clay oven until golden and crispy. It's stuck to the sides and then it basically just bakes like that through the direct heat from the pot and then residual heat throughout the rest.

[00:00:30]We actually went for two. One savory one with pork and one sweet one filled with sugar.

[00:00:41]Then it's cut up for ease of eating. And that's that. First, we're trying the sweet one.

[00:00:46]M. It's super crispy on the outside, slightly soft on the inside, and then it's got that sugar as well. So, it basically just tastes like toasted bread with sugar. Now, let's try the savory one. The one I personally always go for when I get this as a snack. And I find that it's just so flavorful.

[00:01:06]>> Sweet bread is good, but this is the kind of thing I could eat a whole pancake of. So, it's meaty. It's fragrant from the spring onion, but this one also has some cumin inside. So, it's got a or like some kind of almost tastes like curry. Can you imagine here in the ancient city of Jing Joel 1,800 years ago, people were just around eating this exact thing.
