With that being said, let's get right into the story. When you choose a certain lifestyle, people always say as soon as you jump off the porch, you got to know what comes with the streets. When you are trapping, you have to understand what to look out for. Brother, people trying to tell on you. The stickup boys watching, waiting to pull a move, your own homie getting jealous, you making money, got to make sure you don't get backed, and the police. Some people have a nice run for 5 to 10 years just to end up sitting in the cell for 20 years.

[00:01:31]That's just what comes with it on all sides. Whether you are a scammer, robber, trapper, or a shooter. When you are a hopper, fresh off the porch, you might slip up, put yourself in a situation you thought you was ready for until it happens. Then you realize, man, I'm really grain to this. If you are fortunate enough and don't lose your life and go to prison for life, you can regroup and reroute your life because we all make mistakes. But some, even after their slip ups, still choose to go all in. When you choose to pick up a gun, most feel invisible as long as they got that blick. It's chest out, head up. And in the streets, most feel like if I got that on, it's a meal ticket. Meaning if they wake up broke, it don't matter because if they up that blick on somebody, more than likely they will kick everything out. But it's laws of the universe that either most don't understand or care about. Like for every action, it's a reaction. And one rule some don't learn until it's too late. Is it's no fun when the rabbit got the gun.

[00:02:38]Meaning when you go from predator to prey, now you are the one on the other side of that trigger pleading for your life. But then it's usually too late.

[00:02:48]And on this episode of Hood Tales, we'll be taking it to Pensacola, Florida to discuss the case of a group who tried to route a plug for one of their friends or pay with his life. Back in 2024, 24year-old Demetrius Caesar was trying to stay focused and out of trouble in a sunshine state. Demetrius had chose to jump in the streets at an early age and would have had minor runins with the police at first for petty stuff, but he eventually graduated to robbery. Let's rewind back to 2018. Demetrius was 18 years old running the streets trying to make some money. One summer day in June, he was with two other teens at the time, 16-year-old Vincent Winchester and 17-year-old Collijah Watson. They all decided they would go hit a lick. The target was another team, 18-year-old Abel Kane. They headed to the Oakwood Terrace Apartments where one of them got in contact with Abel and put the plan in motion. But during the robbery, shots went off and Abel was hit. When police responded to the area, unfortunately, the young man had passed away at the scene. The shooting shocked the community as Abel was described as a good kid from a good family. It wouldn't take long for the streets to say names.

[00:04:08]They pointed to Collaga, Vincent, and Demetrius as the trio who robbed and shot the young man. Vincent and Collijah were picked up quickly, charged with attempted robbery and first-degree hit.

[00:04:20]But Demetrius went on a run. He would eventually be tracked down to Louisiana.

[00:04:26]Being the oldest out the group, it's not clear what his role was, but Vincent was pointed to as the trigger man. As the case made his way to court, all three men were convicted on different charges.

[00:04:37]As Abel's family spoke out, Vincent listened and also took the stand in his own defense, but he was eventually sentenced to 50 years in prison for his role as the shooter. Collagger would get 25 years, but somehow Demetrius would catch a blessing, only get a few years, four to be exact, and was released on probation with a second chance at life.

[00:05:01]Demetrius came home in April 2023. You would think he would go get a job, maybe go to school, even leave the area for a fresh start. But Demetrius still was playing in the streets, and his occupation was still robbing. In June of 2024, just over six years after the first incident, Demetrius was with two others. This time, a man and a woman, 22-year-old Malia Gordon and 26-year-old DeAndre English, when they allegedly decided they would go hit a lick. The target this time was a 20-year-old man named Isaac, who was known for having a lot of grass. They made the call and pulled up to the 100 block of Swallow Tail Lane in Pensacola. They called Isaac, told him what they wanted. He stayed at bet and came outside. He got in the car. As soon as the door closed, DeAndre allegedly up the gun and told him to kick everything out. But Isaac's fight or flight kicked in, and he decided to fight. He somehow got a hold of the gun. Seconds later, shots went off. A resident in the area got a frantic knock on his front door. When they opened it, they found DeAndre laying on the ground, suffering from five gunshot wounds, pleading for help.

[00:06:20]They called police, but by the time they got to the scene, the young man had passed away from his injuries. The homeowner's car was shot up multiple times in a commotion, and he stated he was in shock after seeing the man knock on his door all shot up. Marine cameras caught some of the incident and investigation started. It didn't take long for police to put together exactly what happened, a robbery attempt. The two people with DeAndre ran when the shots went off, but was quickly identified as Malia and Demetrius, who police was already familiar with. Isaac was taken in for questioning and admitted to meeting with the three, fighting with DeAndre, getting a gun, and shooting a man. Since Florida is a stand your ground state, he wasn't charged. But Malia and Demetrius were both picked up taken into custody and charged with first-degree hit of their own friend as DeAndre passed away while allegedly committing a crime with the two. And also in Florida law, if you commit a crime with an individual and they lose their life, you will be the one charged. As of now, there's no new updates on his case, and they are both innocent until proven otherwise. I'mma say rest in peace to DeAndre. He unfortunately didn't live to get the lesson like we was talking about earlier. It's no fun when a rabbit got the gun. At 26 years old, I can't say he didn't know better. It's just sometimes people's karma takes years to come back and his was instant. Out of all three of them though, Demetrius should have knew better. still on probation for a hit.

[00:08:00]You would think he would be a monk out here, peaceful, not looking for no trouble. And he definitely knew the consequences of his actions because he faced them before. But this time, instead of the target being the victim, his alleged codefendant was the one to lose their life. Now you are back in the same situation. I know his two homies with 50 years and 25 years probably wish they would get a second chance at life and was thinking to theirself when they heard the news like what is bro.
