Sarracenia minor (Okefenokee Giant) exhibits a growth pattern where plants may die back after reaching a certain size and then divide into multiple growth points, each producing new pitchers; this plant is known for developing large, thick pitchers that emerge in spring from these division points.

Sarracenia minor - Okee giant! May 12th, 2026Added:
So, this is my minor Okefenokee Giant.
It is one of my favorite plants that I have for sure.
Uh and last year, it got to be pretty big, but instead of growing bigger and bigger this year, it kind of died back down.
Uh and instead divided into several growth points. So, I think there actually five or six here.
And they're all opening up their spring pitchers.
But, they're already pretty big.
So, I'm hoping that by the end of the year uh this is a nice pretty big and thick pot of Sarracenia minor.
And it was definitely worth making a little bit of a spring video about.
