THE SERIES FINALE - *DERRY GIRLS* 3x7 Reaction - Season 3 - Part 3/3 - The Agreement
Added:Hey there, fellow foolish mortals, and welcome back to Derry Girls. So, today we're going to be checking out season 3, episode 7, aka the series finale of the show. I can't believe I'm finishing it today. I don't know what to I love this show so much, even though it broke my heart at the end of the previous episode.
Like, what was that? What was that? That was so unexpected and tragic and just so incredibly sad. Oh my god, I felt so so bad for Clare. So, yeah, I don't even know what to expect for this finale, you know? Like, obviously it's straying from the norm as well. Like, we're doing seven episodes this season. This one is also like an extra long episode. So, yeah, I don't know what to expect, honestly. I'm just very excited to get into this. So, without further ado, let's just jump into it.
>> [bell] >> Oh. Almost the same beginning as the pilot. Oh, it's because we're looking at flashbacks. I see.
Why is this so ominous?
>> [bell] >> Yes, I'm so here for this though. Like, I need them to end up together.
Thank you so much. I actually forgot that this happened. I appreciate you reminding me.
>> be the end?
>> [bell] >> One year later. Oh my god, it is the end.
>> Forever?
>> Are they graduating high school?
>> Because if this could end decades of violence, death, and fear, then surely any concession, no matter how >> Is this the end of the troubles?
>> The eternity in this week.
>> So, we're late?
>> Happy birthday.
>> And also, with you.
>> [laughter] >> And you're happy with this one?
>> Very much so.
>> Yeah, she looks great.
>> See, you need to read this before the vote.
>> Is it any good?
>> Well, I mean, as peace treaties go.
>> Cuz I've just finished The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and >> Yeah, so it's not as good as that.
>> 12 pence for 10p mix?
>> It's called inflation, [ __ ] >> I get it.
>> Yeah, they make a good team.
Hey, Clare, sweetie, honey, boo boo. Are you okay? How are you doing?
All All he's still into her. I hope they end up together.
I just adore her so much.
>> Our lives will never be the same again.
>> Is this your first microwave? Also, the little girl's daughter grew up so much.
Oh my god, what is this?
Oh.
Oh.
I thought it was I LOVE HER SO MUCH. I THOUGHT it was the Jesus painting cuz it looked like it was bleeding. I was like, "Oh my god, a bad omen." No, she was just praying for her team to win.
>> Simple [snorts] terms.
Simple terms, my arse.
I've read through the introduction 30 bloody times.
>> Wait, she's looking at the microwave.
>> If you vote yes, you're allowed to swing both ways.
>> What's that now?
>> I love that.
>> Everything's different here, and I get why Mommy wanted to move.
Here it just reminded her of Daddy too much.
>> Oh, that is so sad.
>> But that's a lot to navigate, girls. The language, >> culture.
>> You moved to East Chebanne. Clare is 20 minutes down the road in a bus.
>> If the traffic's good.
>> [laughter] >> Don't roll your eyes at me, Aaron.
>> She's like, "Oh my god, how did she know?"
>> My 18th was 3 months ago, but our tight hold mum's wouldn't pay for two parties, so instead they've just amalgamated them.
>> Aw, that's kind of mean.
>> Is there a theme?
>> Literary greats.
>> Monkeys.
>> Let's go with monkeys.
>> Monkeys are class.
>> Oh yeah, they are.
>> Look, I'd be willing to settle for gorillas.
>> Who the hell respects monkeys, Orla?
>> Actually they're apes.
>> Morning, everyone.
Ah, reading the old agreement, I see.
>> Who are you?
>> I had a bit of bother with the bathroom door.
Just leave it here, then.
>> Oh, what did you do, Eamon?
>> What?
In the name >> Don't start, Jerry.
>> When is he leaving?
>> Have a bit of sympathy. The fellow's roof fell in.
>> Yeah, well, I'm starting to think he might have had a hand in that.
>> Clearly.
>> It's not THAT BAD, LOVE.
>> JERRY, I THINK YOU BETTER COME UP AND take a look at this.
>> Yeah, what happened? Was it a monkey?
>> I am a Republican.
>> I am a loyalist.
>> I am affronted.
>> Oh, the IRA famous for their swordsmanship.
>> Surely.
>> Boke. Boke. Projectile boke.
>> Let's put the past behind us.
>> Michelle, what's going on with you? Are you enjoying this?
>> The conflict here has led to so many terrible atrocities.
>> For example, me having to sit through whatever this was.
>> And now we must add your play to that list.
>> [laughter] >> I love her so much.
>> Just one message this morning, girls. As Jenny's awful play just alluded to, a referendum is about to take place.
>> And we need you guys to vote vote vote.
>> I strongly urge you to exercise your right to vote. It's your future.
>> Michelle, what's going on with her? Is she not 18 yet?
>> I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in any of your other so-called rights. I don't want to hear your thoughts on the workload or >> [ __ ] your rights.
>> I know that, Sister Michael. I hear you.
>> Our Lady Immaculate is not a democracy.
It's a dictatorship.
>> Oh, yeah, it is.
>> My rules. Is that understood?
>> Yes. Come on, Sister Michael. Tell me what I should do.
>> Sorry, is the Good Friday Agreement stealing your thunder?
>> Yes, exactly.
>> Literary greats and monkeys.
>> We're being avant-garde.
>> Is that like a type of monkey?
>> Yes. No.
>> [laughter] >> So, I'm having a bit of a bash for my year 10 on Saturday, and I just want to invite you peeps along.
>> Peeps?
>> So, we're being upstaged by two things this week.
>> I think you spelled monkeys wrong.
>> Christ, Orla. You might want to reconsider Aaron.
>> That's so funny.
>> Karaoke machine.
>> Pony rides.
>> Caricature artist.
>> Orla's like, "Yeah, I'm going to go to this party."
>> Gift bags to the value of £20.
>> Seriously?
>> A selection of >> No one's going to Aaron's party.
>> You have something that Jenny Joyce doesn't have.
>> Friends?
>> Integrity.
>> What? No.
>> Yeah, you don't have integrity, Erin.
>> [laughter] >> The commitment.
What?
>> What does that mean?
>> I know her nephew. About >> Oh, the the the band.
>> He can get her to play your party if I snog him for 3 minutes and 22 seconds.
>> That's really precise.
>> Exactly.
>> You would do that for me?
>> That's just the kind of selfless girl I am.
>> We love you, Michelle.
>> Used to be quite good at this.
>> I don't care.
>> Grace.
>> What?
>> Wait, do you care? I know how to solve one.
>> So, the bishop wants you to know that he's absolutely thrilled with all the amazing work you've done here over the years.
>> I'm ecstatic.
>> But, perhaps he thinks it's time for a different challenge.
>> What?
>> What does that mean?
>> Pastors new and all that.
>> You want to kill her?
>> He wants me to leave Our Lady Immaculate.
>> He thinks it's time.
>> And do what?
>> And things get too familiar, too comfortable.
You know, it can distract us from the main focus.
>> Which is what?
>> God.
>> Oh, I thought soccer.
>> She's worried about that herself, is she?
>> Who?
>> God.
She passed these concerns on to the bishop personally.
>> I love that she calls God she.
>> Look, this is always difficult, sister.
But, can I be frank?
>> I'll be whoever you want.
>> [laughter] >> It's out of your control.
>> [ __ ] it is. If I kill you and the bishop, then it's in my control.
>> They are a bit snazzy.
>> Not snazzy, right? They're just ordinary, normal, everyday [ __ ] glasses.
>> Of course they are.
>> You're Elton John.
>> You cheeky wee rat.
>> [laughter] >> There's no mansion in the barrack.
>> We'll make a great wee shopping center.
>> We got a new police force?
>> What happens to these lads when they get out? I mean, what does an ex-paramilitary do?
>> Gardening.
>> Gardening?
>> You got any better suggestions?
>> Howdy, folks.
>> Security guards?
>> That's your Uncle Colm.
>> That's Samuel Beckett.
>> One former bastard looks much like another, I suppose.
>> He does look a lot like Colm.
>> You don't actually think he should get out, do you?
He's my brother.
>> He killed someone.
>> I know that, Erin.
>> Whoa, what?
>> It wasn't supposed to happen the way it does.
>> I'm sure that poor man's family takes great comfort in that.
>> These things, they're not black and white, Erin.
>> Oh, [ __ ] >> Well, I think the fact that you shouldn't kill people is pretty black and white.
>> [laughter] >> Just hang up. Just hang up.
>> You're nothing but a spoiled, selfish, sheltered wee brat.
>> Oh my god.
>> I'm never, ever, ever speaking to that duck kid again.
>> Of course you are.
>> Do you think I need to apologize? You think I should apologize?
>> [ __ ] No, what did I do? I'm not apologizing.
>> No, look. Aaron's on the other line.
>> Oh, so she thinks I should apologize?
That's unbelievable.
>> No, no, no, no, no, no.
>> Someone has to make the first move here.
>> You're telling me you don't want Michelle to come to your party? She doesn't want me to come to your party?
>> Jesus Christ, Clare.
>> What are you going to tell Aaron?
>> Well, I can't tell her Michelle thinks she should stick her party up her hole.
>> Oh, does she know you?
>> She knows my life.
>> Oh, this is a whole mess.
>> [music] >> Y'all can't kick her out. This is her life. Sister Michael, who do you want me to fight? I'll fight whoever you want. I got it. I got it. I'll beat them up. I beat them up.
>> [music] [singing] >> I know what is to be the end, guys.
>> We don't need the commitment. I don't need Michelle.
>> Yes, you do.
>> This party is going to be amazing.
>> I have heard my people cry out.
>> Oh, this is awful. Run away.
Oh my god. Where are these kids?
>> Where are all the literary greats?
>> What happened to my monkeys?
>> Exactly. Where are all his monkeys?
>> All I do is try my best, Aaron.
>> Oh, COME ON.
>> THIS IS HOW I AM TREATED.
>> CLARE, I'm not buying it.
>> Everything I do, I do it for >> And maybe you'll realize that.
>> Oh, don't even.
>> When I'm dead.
>> Seriously.
>> That's mean.
>> Well, how did they take it?
>> Not great.
>> I had to whip out the oil.
>> You'll be sorry when I'm dead, CLARE.
>> HAPPY DAYS.
>> [laughter] [screaming] >> I LOVE THE WAY SHE SCREAMS. Like always crazy.
>> So, did you just make your first communion didn't then?
>> No, we dress like this every day.
>> Well, I was just trying to make conversation.
>> [laughter] >> She's about to start crying.
>> How many pieces of communion do you think you'd need to swallow to eat a whole Jesus?
>> Where the hell >> A lot, I guess.
>> No, when I say he spoiled his vote, what he actually did was eat the ballot paper.
>> What?
>> Oh, that's crazy. I thought he pissed on it.
>> People thought he was trying to make some sort of a political statement.
>> Well, he was just hungry.
>> If you didn't keep your eye on him, he'd have got the very yellow pages down him.
>> How many dollars is this?
>> Hi, it's a bad day to make crossword once.
>> Cool Runnings is probably one of my favorite films.
>> Right, Dave. I haven't seen that one.
>> Me, either.
>> You're mean and afraid.
>> We have to leave. Shh, they haven't seen Cool Runnings, Michelle. I don't trust these people.
>> [laughter] >> More?
>> Oh my god, he doesn't trust me, either.
I never even heard of that movie.
>> Welcome to Jenny Joyce's [music] party.
Name, please.
>> Erin Erin Quinn.
>> Is she on the list?
>> Oh.
>> You're not on the list.
>> OH, NO.
>> HELLO, HELLO, HELLO.
I'LL TALK LIKE THAT, ISN'T IT?
>> JUST climb over the fence.
>> Yeah, there you go.
Oh, it's hard to watch. What are you doing?
>> Sorry for the wait. I just had a check with Jenny. Welcome and enjoy.
>> Thank you so much.
>> Thank you.
>> Come on, Sister Michael, you're missing a party. Come party with us tonight.
>> Sister Michael, you may speak.
>> Thank you, honey.
>> Hello, Bishop.
>> Well, can I just >> They are not.
>> I mean, how can you never say it, Thomas? How, Thomas, how?
>> [laughter] >> Jenny Joyce's party. This is quite the betrayal.
>> Yes, you guys are supposed to become a couple.
>> I'm just glad Orla isn't here to witness this, BECAUSE IT WOULD COMPLETELY BREAK HER HEART.
>> ERIN WHY DID SHE come here?
>> I'm sure she's having a great, great time here.
>> I don't think she is.
Guys, you have to make up.
>> You know I've never even visited Niall?
Niall wouldn't let me.
>> Did we know this about her brother? I don't remember.
>> He had a son.
The man.
>> Oh god, that is so sad.
>> I'm sorry, Michelle. You weren't wrong.
I mean, you weren't right either.
>> It is just what it is.
>> There's no answer to any of this, is there? I don't think Claire is here.
>> Where's Claire, guys? I know someone told me she was filming Bridgerton, the actress, but this sucks. Like this is a series finale and she's not here.
>> What if Eamon came and stayed with you for a bit?
>> The thing is now how do I put this? I'm trying to find the right word.
>> Do you think Eamon is boring?
>> Well, I find Eamon a bit boring.
>> [laughter] >> I [ __ ] know it.
>> I'm glad Jenny's party was so cracker. I don't know what that has made me realize.
Still rather just be standing here on the walls with you guys.
>> Oh, me too, guys. Me too.
>> At last.
>> Oh, Claire, finally. Holy [ __ ] Oh, look at her little rainbow umbrella.
>> It was probably a bit upsetting for Erin realizing the entire year chose my party instead of hers.
>> Claire, what did you do?
>> Wouldn't it be a pity if there was a blackout?
>> Claire, you little rascal. I love you.
>> And the party's over or we relocate it?
Jesus, Claire, where the hell is this gaff?
>> Is that commitment herself?
>> Looks like your party's going to be the biggest night of the year after ALL, GERRY.
OH, CLAIRE, you little rascal. You little rascal.
>> That's our Claire.
>> Let's go, [ __ ] >> [screaming] >> You've done a good job.
[singing and music] >> I still don't know who this is. I'm so sorry.
>> What's with all the tiny brides?
>> [laughter] >> Did you get your head around this referendum thing yet?
>> I did. I >> And what do you think?
>> Ah, it doesn't matter what I think.
>> I'm going to be dead anyway.
>> Try me and I'll die. It's what you think that's important.
>> That's true.
>> And the people who took loose lives, they're just going to walk free? You know what if we do it and it was all for nothing?
What if we vote yes and it doesn't even work?
>> And what if it does?
>> Exactly. No one else has to die.
>> What if all this becomes a a ghost story you'll tell your wee uns one day?
>> Like this show, is this a mother moment?
Oh, this is so fun. I'm going to miss this show so much.
I just got a glimpse of Gerry, that was so funny. But maybe Colm and Eamon will do end up moving in together.
Hey Gerry.
MY BABY. WHY IS SHE UNHAPPY? Let's bring her to the party. Oh, him.
>> You're taking the piss.
>> [laughter] >> Sister, you missed the first communion.
>> I'm devastated.
>> How will she ever move on from that?
>> I decided to take your advice.
>> Which was?
>> No point facing it.
>> Oh, I don't like that. Fight it. You can win.
>> Then I had a whiskey and a word with myself.
>> Oh, and then you went and killed the bishop.
>> I rang him back.
>> Oh, did you give him a piece of your mind?
>> I make a difference here. The girls know that.
The parents know that. I I I'm not ready to leave.
>> Nor should you.
>> Try and force me to and there'll be an awful fuss, I said.
>> Ooh, hell yeah.
>> And what did he say?
>> She's a staying.
>> He didn't say much.
>> [sighs and snorts] >> Oh, hell yeah. I'm so happy for her.
>> There's a part of me that wishes everything could just >> [music] >> stay the same.
That we could all just stay like this forever.
>> That's how life works, unfortunately.
>> There's a part of me that doesn't really want to grow up.
>> And you know, you never really do, do you? I keep waiting to feel like an adult, but it's just it's just not happening.
>> We have to move on and we have to grow up because things, well, they might just change for the better.
>> And they did.
This is such a beautiful show. I really, really enjoyed it.
>> So, I have to be brave.
>> What happened on Bloody Sunday?
>> Think I want him to come back. Well, he probably wanted to come back.
>> And if our dreams get broken along the way, we have to make new ones from the pieces.
>> Yeah, this must be crazy for Liam Neeson as well, right? Cuz he lived through that.
>> Yes.
71.12%.
>> [cheering] >> They did it.
>> The country has just taken [music] its first step into the future.
>> Aw, look at them. They're so cute.
>> [music] >> It's Derry lads.
Oh, present present day.
New York. Wait, what? What's the present day? When did this come out?
>> We've discovered some old mail. It was intercepted en route to the White House back in the '90s, then somehow lost its way, but >> [laughter] >> No [ __ ] way. No.
Is that her? I don't know what Chelsea Clinton looks like.
>> Dear Chelsea, our names are Aaron, Orla, Clare, Michelle, and James.
>> What an insane ending for the show.
>> And if they're anything like our parents, well, you'll be [music] bored out of your tree.
>> This is >> [laughter] >> so [ __ ] funny. I can't believe that's how they ended the show. That's That's incredible.
>> P.S. We think your hair is absolutely cracker.
>> This was incredible. Man, I'm so sad it's over. It's all over. I really, really enjoyed this show. This was so good. What a beautiful finale as well.
I'm going to miss it. I'm going to miss it so much. Although, I'm a little upset that we couldn't get more Clare in this.
Like, hey, get it. The actress was busy, but this was the finale, and we just like barely saw her. And next to Sister Michael, she was my favorite character in this show, so I'm a little bummed about that. But, other than that, this was pretty [ __ ] brilliant and amazing and epic, and I had a great time watching this show. I hope you guys enjoyed these reactions. Like this was truly so, so fun. Although I can't believe this didn't end with a confirmation of Aaron and James becoming a couple.
I was really looking forward to that, but that's okay. They're together in my head. You know, in my head they got together after high school and they're happy and are still together in present day, you know? And they're going to go on a little fun day with Chelsea Clinton. That's uh that's my head canon.
You can pry that out of my cold dead hands. Like I really wish there was more of this, obviously, because it was so good, but I'm also just glad that it ended in in a satisfying way, but also in a way where I want more instead of where like a lot of shows end and you're just like thank god it's finally over and I get to just like not watch this anymore cuz I'm over it. So, it's always good to see an ending where it's just like leaves you wanting more. That's the sign of a good show. So, Daredevil definitely did that for me. I love these characters. I love this world and I really hope you guys enjoyed these reactions. Thank you so much for coming on this journey with me. I really appreciate it and as always a huge huge shout goes out to all my Patreons for supporting me. Thank you guys so much.
You guys are the best. I really appreciate every single one of you. And if you guys enjoyed this video, make sure to give it a like, leave a comment down below, and subscribe to my channel.
Goodbye, guys.
>> I tried so hard, [music] but all these scars they cut so deep I bleed.
I fell so [singing] fast from heaven.
It's like someone clipped my wings.
