[00:00:46]All that's gone and done in my honest opinion has made everything twice as more expensive. The government gets twice as much tax revenue.

[00:00:54]You you're locked into this now. It's very difficult to have a one income family unless that person is making a significant amount of money. It's been a huge trap. I dare say I've had women even say to me, you know what, I wouldn't mind staying at home. I wouldn't mind being a bloody tradife and paid for girlfriend. I wouldn't mind being a stay-at-home mom, but I got to work and be a mom and juggle it all. I guess the biggest lie ever told, I think it's the destruction of the nuclear family. And this is where we are. And it's all sort of pushed by feminism in my honest opinion. What's wrong with having boy jobs and girl jobs? Like women will easily say to you, "Oh no, that's a boy job. I need you to help me to fix my car. I need you to help me move house and lug things around and put them in trailers or put them in and out of vans on a 40°ree day. Grab a couch and you're going up the stairs at a apartment building with all these awkward dimensions and angles. You got this couch and you and your mate are trying to lift it up and flip it around and she's there saying, "Hey, don't bang the couch."

[00:01:55]No, that's a boy job. That's not a girl job. But you say one thing around, "Oh, could you do you want to bake a bloody banana cake or something? The easiest thing in the world. Put some [ __ ] in a bowl, mix it up, and then put it into a thing and bake it." Oh, no. You are the devil.

[00:02:10]You might think that in 2026, anyone coming out and saying a woman's place is in the home would prompt immediate demands for them to wash their mouths out with soap.

[00:02:26]>> But what if the people saying it were in fact the women themselves? Well, that's exactly what's now happening more and more often. It's thanks to a growing movement of so-called tradives. Women who with their husband's blessing or expectation are choosing to return.

[00:02:46]>> Listen to the undertone. Listen to the undertone. They're not really choosing it. It's the husband. Why would you not want to stay home and have a wholesome family life if you have the opportunity to do so? I don't understand the argument here. You know, you got this woman here sitting there with her pants suit on, power woman and all of that.

[00:03:03]It's like, is it threatening or something? I don't I just don't get it.

[00:03:08]Now it's seen as a bad thing for a woman to be a stay-at-home mother and um keeper of the home and house manager, whatever you want to call it. Like that's a big job.

[00:03:20]It's a very vital job for a lot of families out there. You see things fall apart. You got two, you got dual working families, so the mother and father, uh you got children, like you can't have it all. Something's got to give. A lot of the time marriages give because one of the people thinks they're given too much. Generally the woman thinks she's given too much because she's got to take time off work and then run around and pick up kids and drop them off and do all this and that and it leads to a lot of resentment.

[00:03:50]Why do you think there is record numbers of single mothers and single bloody fathers out on bloody dating apps?

[00:03:57]It's because whatever's happening at the moment definitely isn't working.

[00:04:01]turn to traditional household roles. Put simply, he's the bread winner, she's the bread maker. How does your household work? Who does what?

[00:04:24]Um, Cashy's outside doing all of the like yard work and yeah, making the money for us.

[00:04:33]>> The idea of pink and blue jobs might be rare these days, but for the Basanoviches, it's a recipe for wed bliss.

[00:04:42]>> Come on, boys. Come on. on their Queensland property. Amber does the housework and looks after daughters Mila and Lucia, while husband Cy is in charge of the cash.

[00:04:56]>> Nothing compares to the fulfillment that I feel being at home, being there for my family, supporting my family in my own way.

[00:05:06]>> What do you mean in your own way? I think it's nice if someone wants to do that and you can afford it. I mean, I think it's almost impossible now uh for a lot of people to do that, especially the property prices that we have at the moment.

[00:05:16]You know, you're indebted for two people to work for 30, 40 years. A lot of people aren't even um having their standard family anymore, or they're doing it a lot later in life.

[00:05:25]But what what what's wrong? This this worked for um generations and generations and going back in time, but today I think it's more women want to be men and they want men to be women. you know, they want men to be taking uh parental leave and and be the stay-at-home dad while the wife goes and works or whatever. And that's a very common thing, you know, these days it's pushed. I'm not saying this is a negative. This is an observation that I've seen out there working in the white white collar, right?

[00:05:58]Uh you know, the woman coming back rushing back to work, you know, a week or two weeks after having a baby. Uh and uh yeah, dad's dad's at home doing mommy duty.

[00:06:08]You can tell that's probably at the request and high pressure probably of the wife because she wants to get back to work. You know, she wants to be the man.

[00:07:14]He's smiling there. All happy. What happens? Um he must be making a bit of coin. Must be doing all right. Nice looking little place there. New modern.

[00:07:27]What happens when uh the economy goes a bit worse? You won't be smiling then.

[00:07:38]>> I like to to see myself as as the provider and protector. Uh like I think men are are a little more uh we're kind of built for battle or we're built for to endure um so that women don't have to.

[00:08:00]It sounds like something straight out of the 1950s, but Jana and Amber, >> you dare say the 1950s were probably a less stressful, better time where, you know, people reminisce and look back and they say, "Oh, my grandfather, he had a job. You know, it wasn't even a a high earning or big job, but he was able to raise a family. He was able to uh have, you know, your standard cream brick threebedroom home on 600 square meters.

[00:08:25]They're able to go on a holiday. had a caravan.

[00:08:28]That's impossible now unless you've got two jobs with people making 150 grand or more. Even then, that'll probably be hard on top of a mortgage on debt of over a million dollars. Yeah, we don't want to go back to the 1950s. Take me back.

[00:08:46]The world's [ __ ] That's my honest opinion. Why would you want to live in the current world we live in where it's seen as a negative thing for a man to provide for a woman so she can stay home uh and and and look after children? I just don't understand it. That's seen as a real negative thing.

[00:09:04]Anyway, that's my rant. Let's keep going. I'm getting charged up here. We got stage three charge out of five. I'm probably going to get to five by the end of it. are modern women who have chosen to revert to traditional gender roles.

[00:09:52]>> I think it's I think it's they're not even these women aren't even saying it what it is. I think it's a bit of a scam, a bit of a con as well. And this is how they make money uh on on YouTube putting this content together. A lot of these creators get a lot of views, a lot of brand deals and things like that.

[00:10:11]I dare say anybody really acts like the perfect Steepford wife. Nobody's built that way. That's for sure. Who knows what happens behind closed doors.

[00:10:21]I'm pretty sure she's not going to be his servant.

[00:10:25]She's not She's not going to be submitting to him. He'll be submitting to her. Think about it in these terms.

[00:10:29]If you got a stay-at-home wife who's not bringing in any income and you're the sole uh producer of that income and provider for the family and and her, she holds all the power, mate. She holds all the leverage because she'll take you march you straight down to that divorce court and [ __ ] rip you one. They're getting it all wrong here. They're getting it all wrong. Like she's being or these women are being uh abused or they're being coerced into acting a certain way as servants.

[00:11:01]No, no, no. They know what they're doing. And they'll probably get 65 70% of the guy's net worth based on that situation and circumstance.

[00:11:37]You got your little cute little beekeeper suit. You can go and collect some honey. Why would you not want to do this? This is not the real This is not real life. is not reality.

[00:12:43]>> I had goals of what I wanted to achieve and then I just started getting burnt out and >> I'm going to say this and you can call me an [ __ ] or whatever. Men women aren't as resilient as men in the workplace. We're built for this [ __ ] like that. We're designed to put up with a lot of [ __ ] uh and just suck it up and push forward day by day, year by year, uh decade after decade until we drop. That's we literally that's our purpose on this planet. Women aren't designed that way. They don't have the same resilience as men. They just don't.

[00:13:18]They might have resilience in other in other ways of life, but definitely not in the workplace. Definitely not stress, pressure, uh and performance burdens.

[00:13:27]And I'm not saying there aren't great women out there who are are very talented and good at their jobs and make good money and all that. There certainly are. But to say that you're built like a man with the same t, you know, the same endurance, it's a lie. On top of that, I've come across this a lot. Like I've worked in white collar for, you know, 20 years.

[00:13:48]And I I see these women, these younger women in their 20s, they're all about career. They're all about making big bucks and traveling overseas and doing expat uh life and building the career in London and New York and bloody wherever else they go. Then they come back, they get to around 35, they want to have a baby and they want to go part-time and they don't care about the career anymore because they realize they're looking down the barrel of bloody a life worker 70 year years old stuck in an office.

[00:14:16]They meet some sucker who will go and do that for them and they can work a few days a week. How good's that? Then eventually they wind off completely.

[00:14:24]What's that telling you?

[00:14:28]>> Having a family too changed everything for me. Like you want to be a good mom, you want to be a good wife, you want to be there for yourself, too. And being so time poor. It it just I couldn't do it.

[00:14:41]Amber quit her job as corporate operations manager for a global makeup brand to >> make they make it sound like she was a billionaire or something global. You should play on [ __ ] 60 grand. The entitles don't mean anything.

[00:14:55]>> The home and it certainly seems to work for everyone.

[00:15:00]>> Yeah, it's a good balance. Like um yeah, I do my bit, she does her bit. Vice versa. If each other need help, we help help each other.

[00:15:09]>> Well, I mean, she's clearly miserable.

[00:15:11]You've got to change to the kitchen. I can see that.

[00:15:13]>> Definitely not. It's by choice.

[00:15:15]>> It's a happy home.

[00:15:16]>> It is a very happy home. Unlike Amber and Cressy, Jana and Austin don't have children yet. So Jana calls herself a stay-at-home wife. But don't for a minute think that >> far out. What a scam that is. Stay at home wife. He goes to work and she's probably getting clapped out by bloss uh during the day. No pun in no pun intended.

[00:15:46]Maybe stay-at-home mom if you want to put yourself into that huge risk.

[00:15:55]Why? Like, what are you actually doing?

[00:15:57]What? You wipe the benches down. You might go to the shops once every few days. Sweep the house or something.

[00:16:03]Vacuum. Okay, that's one [ __ ] hour of the day. What else are you doing?

[00:16:07]Don't tell me that housework takes [ __ ] all day. It does not. I bloody do it myself. Takes you bloody two hours a week. Now, if you got kids, I understand it's different. They throw Lego and [ __ ] [ __ ] everywhere the second that you clean the house. I'm talking about if you're a single person living on your own or a couple takes you [ __ ] all to clean the house and it stays clean.

[00:16:32]She spends her days looking after herself as well as the house. And it's all uploaded to her adoring online audience, which some might say looks and sounds a lot like work.

[00:16:56]>> Right. I would say I'm a content creator. And it is kind of like a job.

[00:17:01]So yeah, I do love the perks of having social media and what it comes with with the opportunity >> and shitloads of money with probably dudes watching us wishing that they had a wife like that and then the cameras turn off and she's nothing like that.

[00:17:14]H social media it is a job. It takes a lot of effort to to make videos and and do all these things every day. I can tell you that much as someone who's been doing it for a few years now. It's it's a big time investment. But I love doing it. For me, does it really feel like work? Not really. But it's still it's still timeconuming >> opportunities and the brand deals and it is good pay per video. I do enjoy it. It is good extra income for us.

[00:17:44]>> So it's about as real as [ __ ] Star Wars. It's performative for the cameras and now they're trying to turn around and say it's this evil thing that men are trying to make them do. These women are bloody smart. They see a market for for bloody brand deals and social media.

[00:17:57]They're all bloody OVER IT. OH NO, IT'S THE IT'S THE MAN TRYING TO KEEP HIM at home. Oh, that's anti-feminism.

Can I have that?" You don't have to do like the dishes and walk the dog and and work and do a send an email like all at the same time, which is kind of the daily experiences I have or other working mothers have.

[00:18:49]>> She's been tracking what's behind the treadwife phenomenon. Sounds like she wants to be a kept woman. She doesn't like it. She got these little screaming little crotch goblins. What? Mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy. Aren't you supposed to love having kids? Mommy, mommy, mommy.

[00:19:11]You can't have it all. That's the biggest lie ever spoken to women. You can have the career. You can have it all. You really can. No, you can't.

[00:19:18]Something's got to give. Something has to give. And I'm going to say this, a lot of these women, they they pressure men into having the kids at on a certain timeline.

[00:19:28]Then they get the kids that they get pissed off they got to [ __ ] look after them and maybe sacrifice some work or something like that. It's like you're literally pressuring these guys to have kids with you. Then you get them and then you're hard done by.

[00:19:42]>> We're at a point in society where there's a very high level of stress. So, if you go on the internet and see this woman who is completely nonstressed, very relaxed, has this very kind of beautiful relationship with their children where they're feeding them homemade homemade sourdough bread. It is a bit alluring. So, is it a rejection then of modern pressures and the juggle, the chaos?

[00:20:08]>> I think there is a bit of a false nostalgia. I think one of the dangers of what the Treadwives are showing is that what they're depicting never existed.

[00:20:17]This whole idea that oh in the 1950s women were able to be look pretty and leisurely kind of break bread from scratch never actually existed. There was a lot of housework to be done. It was a lot of drudgery. And unfortunately, when you decide to be a housewife without any financial means or independence, it does lead to problems with regards to your ability to be autonomous.

[00:20:44]>> Professor Chung's research also uncovered some disturbing attitudes among young men.

[00:20:51]>> This year, we found that a third of Gen Z men found that women should always obey their husband. third of Jen Zan. It was just a bit of a shocking figure.

[00:21:03]>> Coming up on the hunt for a >> I think guys I think guys say that. I don't think they really mean that.

[00:21:12]>> I mean, the truth the true reality of life is a guy gets married and the woman takes over the house. She nests in it.

[00:21:19]She sets all the rules. She tells you where things are going to go. Uh, she tells you what you can do in the house and what you can't do in the house. you walk in on bloody eggshells. So, I think guys might say all that [ __ ] once you got no leverage and you're married and there's no way to get out of it apart from a costly divorce, that woman rules the roost. That that's what happens behind closed doors. So, that's I think why guys fantasize about this [ __ ] maybe because their life isn't them bossing women around and these women are servants, you know, on their knees on the hard wooden floors scrubbing the stains off the floors. That's not what's happening.

Um, make his make his life hopefully a bit better. and he has millions, probably millions of dollars sitting around that that she can also spend and benefit from. Gee, that sounds like a [ __ ] deal.

Then as soon as he says, "Yeah, she has to do a bit of cooking and cleaning." This that woman there, she wouldn't be cooking and cleaning. Uber Eats or she one of those woman who says on her dating profile, "Love a man who knows how to cook because I can't cook burnt toast."

[00:23:58]>> Um I don't expect to to chain her up in the kitchen and say, "Make me a sandwich." Like, it's it's not like that at all. But you know, if I am out working, if I'm out doing my thing and she wants to stay here, it's a choice.

[00:24:09]If she wants to stay here and cook and clean and look after the children and go out and fish and use the pool, whatever, I'm all for that.

[00:24:17]Sounds like a pretty good deal.

[00:24:41]I've been married before. Tyson's mission to find his perfect partner, a trad wife, led him to reality TV and nine's married at first sight, where he fast became public enemy number one.

[00:24:59]Someone that's submissive. Um someone that's not going to say, "Would you be a house husband?"

[00:25:19]Traditional is the word I was looking for and traditional is the word I wanted to use.

[00:25:25]>> So to be clear then, are you looking for a woman to >> but they want a submissive man? That's the thing. Like these women want to this is this is what really happens, right?

[00:25:33]guys get married and women emasculate men death by a thousand cuts. They don't want the idea of a man wanting a woman uh to play second fiddle. As I said before, any married guy will [ __ ] tell you the second you've lost all leverage and you get married and you move in and you're exposed to the family law system, they run the [ __ ] [ __ ] They run the house, you got no [ __ ] say in it. And if you want to push back, buddy, you're in for a bloody bad time.

[00:26:02]That's the truth of the matter. That's all they're not talking about here. So, these guys can say all this [ __ ] They can say, "Oh, whatever they want. I want a woman who does this and that." You get some woman that says, "Yeah, I'm going to do this and that." Get married.

[00:26:13]You're not [ __ ] getting it.

[00:26:20]>> To serve and obey you.

[00:26:22]>> I'm not looking for for a dog. I'm not looking to put my wife on a leash at all. I think it comes down to choices. I think it's really important for the mother of my children to to to stay at home for as long as she likes to be able to bond with my children or our children I should say. And if she wants to go back to work, I'll support that. If she wants to stay at home and cook and clean, I'm >> so see this is the thing about I I can't see the issue here. Once again, he's given a woman a free kick and there's risk for the woman there, too, right? She doesn't get a career and [ __ ] and then um they bust up. Yeah, she's probably going to walk away with a fair bit of cash, but then her earning capacity isn't isn't going to be great.

[00:26:59]Yep, there is absolutely risk there, but I'm not seeing the downsides of this deal. This guy, I don't know his deal.

[00:27:07]He's he's got some money. He's got a six-bedroom house on the bloody water on the Gold Coast, and he wants to get a woman who just wants to be uh be home with the family, but he's seen as they're putting this guy on here like he is Joseph Fritzell.

[00:27:21]Me personally, I want a woman who works.
