Venus — The Planet That Crushes Human SurvivalAdded:
Last episode, Mercury tried to burn us alive, so we searched for a safer [music] planet. Next stop, Venus, which was probably a terrible idea because on Venus the atmosphere itself becomes the problem.
From space, [music] the planet almost looks peaceful.
Unfortunately, those clouds contain sulfuric acid.
So, that's not encouraging.
As the spacecraft descends deeper into the atmosphere, pressure rapidly begins to rise, eventually reaching more than 90 times the pressure found on Earth.
At that point, Venus is no longer a planet you visit.
It becomes a planet trying to crush you.
And then comes the heat.
Surface temperatures climb above 860° Fahrenheit, hot enough to melt lead. Electronics begin failing.
Metal expands.
Cooling systems struggle to survive.
So, if your plan involved breathing or existing, Venus may have some concerns.
Unlike Earth, Venus gives the human body almost no chance to adapt.
No breathable air, no liquid water, no safe landing, only crushing pressure, toxic clouds, and extreme heat stretching across an entire planet.
Mercury tried to burn humanity alive.
Venus decided to crush whatever survived.
But don't [music] worry, next stop is Mars, where the planet slowly tries to freeze, [music] isolate, and suffocate you instead.
