This weather forecast for Wednesday, May 27 indicates warm and windy conditions across Utah, with temperatures reaching 86°F in Salt Lake City and 84°F in St. George. A storm system parked off the west will dominate the weather pattern, bringing southwesterly winds of 10-30 mph that create high fire danger, especially in eastern and southern Utah where a red flag warning is in effect from noon to 9 PM. The dry air ahead of the storm, combined with warm temperatures, creates dangerous fire conditions. The storm will bring cooling and showers on Friday into early Saturday, followed by warming back into the 80s by early next week, with temperatures potentially reaching near 100°F in lower Washington County by Tuesday.

Warm & windy today; High fire danger in the south- Wednesday, May 27Hinzugefügt:
Gearing up for warm weather again today, but boy, we're off to a beautiful start.
This is a live look from the Oquirrh Mountain camera looking at across Salt Lake Valley. We'll have a beautiful sunrise coming up around 6:00.
Temperature this morning is 66 in Salt Lake. So, for some of you, it's very mild when you head out the door. You don't even need a jacket, although it's a lot cooler in Park City where you're hovering near 50.
Farther south, it's 70° currently in St. George. And even though we did have some of the showers and thunderstorms that brought some of the strong winds and heavy rain mainly to the mountains in northeast Utah yesterday, those have lifted north and we're drying out. At the same time, there's a storm that's parked off to the west of us that'll dominate the weather pattern this week. It's just going to hobble around the Great Basin for another day or two, but out ahead of it, we'll get that southwesterly flow with wind from that direction, which unfortunately is going to lead to high fire danger, but that's also going to be a warming us up well above average for this time of year. And that dry air moving in out ahead of the storm is going to lead to the high fire danger as well, but the storm itself crosses through Friday into early Saturday, and that'll cool us off a little bit as well as bring a chance of some showers and thunderstorms. But out ahead of it today, it's sunny with a high of 86° in Salt Lake City and hovering pretty close to that along the majority of the Wasatch Front. In general, we'll get some wind in a lot of the valleys out of the south at about 10 to 20 mph, but some spots those winds might be up to 20 to 30 mph, especially in northwest Utah, also along the Wasatch Back. Those areas could get some blowing dust, but that would be most likely really over central and southern Utah. So, besides maybe blowing the car a little bit or around along the road this afternoon, blowing dust could be limiting visibility.
Otherwise, temperature will be climbing into the upper 80s both in Green River and Moab. And with that, wind picking up, possibly gusting up to 40 mph. High fire danger with a red flag warning in effect from noon until 9:00 for much of eastern and southern Utah. And the fire danger will be high again tomorrow. Now, the winds today aren't going to be as strong as they were yesterday, but they will be more widespread. So, could end up being a blustery afternoon for a lot of you. Otherwise, temperature in St. George will climb to 84. Close to that tomorrow. Friday, cooling off as that storm approaches. And then warming up again over the weekend. In fact, by early next week, it does get hot.
Temperature climbs all the way up near 100 in lower Washington County by Tuesday. And in Salt Lake City, it's going to be sunny, warm, and breezy again tomorrow.
We'll have a chance of some isolated thunderstorms on Friday. Much better chance of wet weather on Saturday. We're hoping for a good shot of rain. We'll cool off near 70, but then warm back up into the 80s by early next week.
