When PNR Connected Almost All of Luzon

[00:00:00]Did you know the Philippine National Railways once connected [music] almost the entire island of Luzon? It all began in 1892 when the Manila-Dagupan Railway opened during the Spanish era. [music] From Manila, the northern line stretched through Central Luzon reaching Nueva Ecija and as far [music] as San Fernando in La Union.

[00:00:21]In the 1950s and 1960s, trains carried students, workers, [music] farmers, and entire families across Luzon.

[00:00:31]But natural disasters, road competition, and decades of [music] neglect slowly shut many lines down leaving only memories and a dream of revival.
