come by on a regular basis and I hope you're all having a great day today we're going to get back to procal herum and we're going to do their song Conquistador and after I had done A Whiter Shade of Pale I had a number of subscribers asked me to do this specific song So this one is going out to all the people who ask for this one and before we get going though if you could all like the video and [Applause] hey hey hey [Music] [Music] okay I absolutely love this song There's Something About This lead singer's voice it is so it's so smooth and it's just so like Rich sounding it's so buttery sounding it's just a very sexy sounding voice and I really like this song it was one of I remember this song from when I was a little kid and it was always one of the ones that I liked I you know the Whiter Shade of Pale I always really liked that song too but there was something about this one and I think it was because it was a little bit more upbeat and it has some really cool features in this song and there was just something about these 1960 songs that had featured the organ I mean I just absolutely love it it just adds so much to this song the piano and this is great I loved that guitar solo that the guy did the drums are great in this song it's an absolutely fantastic song the song itself though was quite dark and basically you know talking about finding a conquistador I guess who is he's dead I guess and he's lying on a beach or something and and it's it's just it's almost a little kind of morbid sounding in a lot of ways and if anybody has any idea as to where they came up with this idea of the song I would love to know I do know that they actually wrote the music before they wrote the lyrics for this particular song which I know was quite odd for them because they usually did the reverse but I would really like to know if anybody has any information on why they did this song in terms of um like how they came up with the lyrics cuz they are quite dark anyway really cool I really enjoyed that and I you know I just had just talked about how I really liked the organ and they were giving me a fullon solo there and I absolutely loved that the only thing that I just kind of missed out of this version of the song was the the actual trumpet because the um the organ was kind of playing for the trumpet in this particular live version but I do love that uh trumpet in that kind of Mariachi kind of feel which gives it a a bit more of a Spanish kind of Conquistador feel I guess and that's the only thing I really miss out of this particular song because that was really fabulous but I did like the organ in that song at the end that was very very cool and I loved the energy in this particular live version of the song was absolutely fantastic if you'd like to hear some other videos that I've done in the past maybe review of or reactions to to look up here at the end of the video a couple will pop up and maybe they'll be of interest to you and you can check them out maybe there'll be a peral harm song who knows anyway I uh really really enjoyed that and uh if you'd like to hear more of their stuff please put it down in the comments now that song was actually originally done in 1967 offer one of their earlier albums it may have actually been their debut album but it wasn't actually released as a single until 1972 in 1971 they actually recorded this song with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and that is the single that was released in 1972 and it became a quite a large hit for them this song did quite well for them it was in the top 10 in Canada Australia New Zealand and in the Netherlands and if you'd like to tell me how it did in your country I would be more than happy to hear and an interesting little tidbit that I found out from a number of subscribers the last time I did procal herum was what their name actually meant and so their name actually means far beyond these things which I think was very very cool and if
