Can I Build Using ONLY Orange Blocks in Minecraft Beta 1.7.3?

[00:00:01]Hello. Welcome to another video and another episode of my Minecraft beta on color build challenge. So far we have done white, brown, red, yellow, and blue. And today we are building out of orange.

[00:00:18]Okay. I mean, I'm just going to get some leather armor. Put that on. There we go.

[00:00:25]All orangeed out. So yeah, what do we got here? So, we have obviously orange wool. Got pumpkins, jacko'lanterns, some iron ore. It's got some orange on it.

[00:00:36]The cake I've decided is orange.

[00:00:39]I mean, I guess the bottom is okay. Then chests, trap doors, and wooden doors. They're all that sort of orange brown color opposed to the normal wooden planks. And fire and lava, which will probably burn everything down. So, I might have to just leave that to the side. And also, I remembered after I built it for last episode for the white block. I completely forgot about cobwebs. Not sure where I would have used them, but yeah, I forgot. So, I don't know what I'm going to build out of orange. I I guess maybe I I could try and build like a giant pumpkin and make that a house. That might be cool. We do have pumpkins. We could use the, you know, the back texture without the face on it. Maybe on this hill here. Get a massive pumpkin up here. That might be fun. I mean, yeah. I can't place dead bushes on grass. So, I'd have to use sand. Yeah. Okay. Well, I guess that's that's what we're going to be doing today. We're going to be building a pumpkin house on a hill. Okay. Well, that is 1 hour starting now. Let's do this. So, let's get rid of that cactus.

[00:01:50]So, I guess maybe just with the orange wall, like I lay out, you know, the pumpkin shape. So, I guess we make it flat to start out with.

[00:02:00]Yeah, I think we need a big flat base if we're going to make this big. And I mean, I guess pumpkins aren't an exact circle. So, this is what that's six blocks. Could maybe make this eight or maybe just a seven. Is that big enough for the bottom? Probably not.

[00:02:19]Let's make it maybe one block bigger all the way around. Yeah, I think we can do something here. So, let's start building this up to a proper rounded pumpkin shape. Okay. Am I doing something here?

[00:02:34]I don't actually remember what pumpkins look like. This may be bad. Okay, let's start building up a little bit like that, I guess. Or am I making this too small? I have no idea what I'm doing.

[00:02:46]Uh, I think this base is too skinny.

[00:02:50]Let's keep building it up. Yeah, I think it needs to be built out this way a bit.

[00:02:57]Let's try that. This is definitely not going well. That doesn't look anything like a pumpkin. Okay. Well, let's just do the top to round it out. Actually, no. I'll make it a little bit taller and then I'll do that.

[00:03:13]Okay. Oh jeez.

[00:03:19]What even is that?

[00:03:22]Let's curve it more. Maybe that's the problem. Not curvy enough. I I know it's not like a complete even spherical thing. It's like, you know, it's like a a lopsided eight, you know, like an infinity symbol almost.

[00:03:42]I mean, I was supposed to build this and then I could start building on top of it to make it like a house, but I can't even get the shape right. Okay. Well, maybe let's do a a fantasy pumpkin. You know, they have like the thing coming out the top and it starts curving around like this, doesn't it?

[00:04:05]Like that.

[00:04:07]What am I doing? Well, let's just maybe take this down a little bit.

[00:04:14]Make it flatter towards the top. Yeah, maybe even more so.

[00:04:20]Take it in even more.

[00:04:23]Oh, hello.

[00:04:25]Looks a little more like a pumpkin. It may not be over. Let's maybe make a chunkier over here.

[00:04:40]I'mma leave that. Where are we? 15 minutes in. Not terrible, I don't think.

[00:04:46]Let's work on this fantasy stalk sort of thing I wanted to do. So, we got to build up the top into like a, you know, nice peak. And we got to build this into the air a little bit more before we do the curb at the end. You know, like the spiral pig's tail sort of thing. Build it up a little bit more.

[00:05:14]And which way should I have it? Maybe going left so I could start taking this up.

[00:05:23]Or is that too much? That's too much.

[00:05:27]Like that.

[00:05:34]Yeah, I think that's good. So, we got to make this chunkier now without ruining the shape. Like this maybe and have it thinner towards the end.

[00:05:46]Oh, hello. We're doing something here.

[00:05:49]We can work on this a little bit more.

[00:05:51]That's pretty much what I wanted. I mean, I could maybe even have it twist in a little bit more. Hope that doesn't ruin it. Oh, yeah. That's nice. I like that. Randomize this top bit a little more. Doesn't have to be even. I mean, it's a pumpkin. It's supposed to be like natural.

[00:06:14]Natural things don't tend to be even.

[00:06:18]Okay.

[00:06:20]Oh, hold on. Let's actually take some of this down a little bit more. I think I made the slope a bit too smooth. Needs to have, you know, like a smooth slope going up. plateau it a little bit and then go steeper towards the top. I think I might have ruined that here. Okay, I think that's No, it's still doing it. Hold on.

[00:06:45]Getting rid of these blocks at the end might help it out a bit. I think it did.

[00:06:50]Yeah. Okay, that's a pretty good shape.

[00:06:52]I think got a load of blocks I just have not used. I've been really using wool. I guess let's start building onto this, you know, making it more of a house. So, I could start with some iron or wall.

[00:07:03]Let's get a entrance down. Make this maybe a little bit bigger. Just build that up like a square and take that up a couple of blocks. This is not all going to be iron ore. This is just so I can see better. We can replace this with like pumpkins and stuff in a bit. See, that would be the entrance. And it needs a roof. So, I think I want to use trap doors there. Then I get some chests.

[00:07:31]Would that work? Though I can't place trap doors on a chest, so probably not.

[00:07:36]I mean, I don't think I'll be able to get any, you know, normal roofs like slope top like that one. Just I don't have the blocks for it, looks like. So, I'm I'm fussing. Let's get some of these pumpkins in. So, I mean, I guess if I just bring out a line, and I'm hoping I can place pumpkins on top. I can. It's good. You can't place them in the air.

[00:08:00]That's That's what I was worried about.

[00:08:01]I guess I can come in with the orange wool. I think I might only use the iron or for like a gradient of some kind.

[00:08:09]Maybe towards the bottom. So, I can do something like this. Uh, maybe go with some trap doors. Bring these on the corners. Um, what else could I do?

[00:08:19]chests or does that look stupid?

[00:08:23]I mean, we might just have to put up with it. I have that many blocks. Okay.

[00:08:28]Uh, now we need something on top of that.

[00:08:31]Have a cake roof. Or was that completely stupid? Let's not that many blocks, is there? Okay. I might have to just put orange on orange.

[00:08:40]Something like that. And then I guess maybe just trap doors around it to change up the color a little bit more.

[00:08:47]And that would be the entrance, which is a bit weird looking. But for now, let's work on this door. Make it a little bit more interesting. Have some trap doors like that. They make nice doorways. Trap doors do. Or archways. I guess that's sort of a slope, right?

[00:09:05]It's almost like a slab.

[00:09:08]Oh dear. Okay. Well, before I start going in with any more detailing like this, cuz I think this is going to need some work. Think I might go in with the pumpkins and give it a texture. Think I'll put some stripes on it. So I could do something like this.

[00:09:23]Going to place blocks beneath it.

[00:09:26]Place otherwise. Yeah, we can bring this all the way up to the top. I'll leave it there for now. Yeah, this is very skinny. So let's widen this up a bit. We could have it random as well. Oh no. I can leave certain blocks just to make it a little bit more messy, more natural.

[00:09:46]That's not too bad. Put that all the way around.

[00:09:50]Okay, got some stripes going on here.

[00:09:53]Had to connect it up a bit weird at the top there, but I think that's fine.

[00:09:57]Yeah, what am I doing here? Let's get rid of this. This does not look good. I don't know. It's bringing this out a little bit. There we go. I'll use some chests for the corners. All right. Now, what do I make out of this?

[00:10:12]Let's maybe do a dome or not a dome, whatever this is called.

[00:10:20]Now, I guess I'll line that with some pumpkins.

[00:10:23]And I think I can put trap doors on those. I can.

[00:10:28]Cool. Put those all the way around.

[00:10:32]Maybe not here. That looks silly.

[00:10:36]Could bring it in a bit.

[00:10:39]Okay. Should probably mix in some of this iron ore here as well. And I mean, I guess I can make this entire thing pumpkins. Like this whole roof portion.

[00:10:48]Separate it from the rest of this big pumpkin. There's a plane going over. Not sure if you can hear that. Okay. Like that.

[00:10:59]Oh, keep placing these blocks down and hoping one of them's going to make me happy. And they're not. Dary me. What am I doing here? Um, okay. Let's I don't know. Build a tower on on this side.

[00:11:18]Build this up with my little orange and iron ore texture, which does not look good. So, I got to work with. Could maybe throw in a few pumpkins every now and then. Just spruce it up a little.

[00:11:32]Probably got to build this up a little bit taller than the top of the pumpkin.

[00:11:36]Not sure how high though. I mean, I guess maybe like there would be fine. I have no clue what I'm doing at the moment, by the way. I've partially given up with this.

[00:11:48]This is not going well. Let's bring that um roof I've done here. Keep it all consistent, I guess. Then I mean I do have doors which I haven't used yet. And also give this a little spire. It's quite nice. Some jacko'lanterns under there. Top it off with a cake, I think.

[00:12:10]There we go. Oh, man. This looks so bad.

[00:12:13]What am I doing? Okay. Well, let's get those doors in. Probably not going to save us, but uh let's do it anyway. So, we're going to need some around here.

[00:12:24]I'm not even sure what I could do for here. I mean, this could be like a bell tower or something.

[00:12:30]Yeah, we'll give this a nice carpet and I don't know, Jacko'Lantern and a cake. That's what we need.

[00:12:41]Oh, deary me. Uh, let's put some doors everywhere, maybe.

[00:12:49]I mean, just what am I doing? What am I doing? Let's Let's take the iron ore and maybe do some streaks coming around the bottom. In fact, some pumpkins do go gray at the bottom. Or maybe all of them do. I think it's like mold. It's not mold. Something else like the aging or something. I don't know. So, this might not be a horrible idea. Did that save the build? No, it did not. Of course, it didn't. I don't know what to do. Let's put trap doors everywhere.

[00:13:25]Maybe might do something. And I'm thinking it's like going to add a little bit of shape to it. Probably just going to make it look worse, though. Wow.

[00:13:36]Uh, you know what? Actually, I was about to say something positive.

[00:13:41]I caught myself there. Let's put a jacko'lantern on the end of that. Maybe get a little bit of pumpkin in here.

[00:13:49]Couple blocks of iron.

[00:13:51]Why not? Let's get more doors. Let's add some windows. Let's put a lovely window right here. Uh I could do a door here.

[00:14:03]There's some trap doors going up like that.

[00:14:07]There's a trap door there. Yeah, I guess maybe more trap doors to sort of, you know, frame it. Not a terrible window. Uh so that's a big one there. Let's maybe get a smaller one on this corner.

[00:14:24]Okay, there's another window.

[00:14:28]Okay, we got windows.

[00:14:30]Um a nice rug in here.

[00:14:36]Stripy rug.

[00:14:38]No, there we go.

[00:14:43]Oh boy, this is this is terrible. I got 9 minutes left. Let's maybe build some smaller pumpkins around it. Let's work on the exterior. Might bring the build together. This is rough. Very, very rough. Um I mean, I guess maybe do a double door the stalk.

[00:15:04]Make it a bit thicker. Now it's in the middle. Okay, let's do it here. Do it towards the side.

[00:15:12]Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. I mean, I guess get guess get some really small ones around the place as well. It's an interesting build. Of course, we need the dead bushes. Yeah, get some wildlife in here.

[00:15:24]Maybe get a little pathway. Some orange wall around that. And then maybe some iron ore around that again. Yeah, I mean, it's not difficult to make a good looking path, I don't think. I guess I could do some trap doors for a sloper.

[00:15:38]There we go. I I don't know. Maybe a pumpkin tree.

[00:15:44]Get another tree. That's always helped.

[00:15:46]Okay. I mean, I guess I'll use chests for those are locked chests. Wait, can I place lock chests on top of each other?

[00:15:54]Oh, I can. That's so much more useful.

[00:15:57]Okay, I'm using locked chests. Look for a place to build a tree. I guess here.

[00:16:03]Just build the trunk up.

[00:16:07]Oh, why are you doing this?

[00:16:12]Ah, they're disappearing. Okay, we cannot use those. The iron ore. I guess will have to be the trunk. I get nice big thick tree. I think the ones I've done before have been quite skinny. So, that'll be a change. I do only have 5 minutes left though, so this will have to be the last thing I do. Be a shorter tree. Bring out the branches like this.

[00:16:33]Have a bunch of them coming out. Okay, add a smaller few branches coming out. I think that'll do the job. Now, let's go in with some orange wool first and we'll get some pumpkins in there later. Going to put these all the way around the branches. Get a bunch of blocks on the top here. I'll just do it really quickly and randomly cuz I don't have much time left. Not going to really think about this. I don't think it's going to save it. I don't think anything can save this build. Get quite full towards the top.

[00:17:02]Do want it to be quite rounded though to fit in with the rest of what we've done.

[00:17:08]Don't want to be too spiky. Okay, maybe bring it down a few places.

[00:17:14]Okay, there we go. That's a tree.

[00:17:16]Doesn't look horrible, I don't think.

[00:17:18]Uh, but to finish this off, let's get some pumpkins.

[00:17:22]I have a minute and a half left. Where are the pumpkins? And I'll just place these in here randomly. Maybe get some jacko'lanterns there as well, just to light it up. Okay, 50 seconds left. So, maybe finish this tree off with some trap doors like we did over there, just to bring it all together. I can have them on the outside as well. Hold on, let's try that. Put these things all over the place. Why not? Bunch of trap doors. It's my trap door tree. Oh, look at that. That is beautiful.

[00:17:54]I don't know what I'm doing here. Okay, there's the timer. It's done. Okay, now you know what?

[00:18:08]I don't think it's the worst thing I've done. I think the tree helped. Again, um I don't have much to say about this. You know, we got the initial pumpkin. It's got a bit of a fancy fantasy thing going on here for the stalk. Got a tower towards the right. Got a a cake in the middle. Got a spire. Do some windows around here. Of course. Got the big tree, the big pumpkin tree, the trapoor tree. They do some terrain work around here. Some gardening. Got dead bushes. Some normal pumpkins. Got a smaller, larger pumpkin there as well. It's still better than that, I think. I mean, it's Is it bad?

[00:18:53]Yes. Is it interesting?

[00:18:56]Yeah. Could it be something cool with a bit more work done to it? Quite possibly, I believe. So, white is first.

[00:19:04]And I have slept on it. And I do still think white is first. Uh, red is No, red is not second. Yellow is second, which honestly, I think I like red more now than yellow. I'm I'm changing my rankings. Red is second. Yellow is third. I mean, you know what? Now that I'm looking at it, I mean, if you get up close, it's it's it's terrible, right?

[00:19:27]This this is incredibly messy. But, you know, let's let's get further away. That is quite a neat thing to see on the top of the hill there. Yeah. I mean, for further away, I don't think it looks that bad. I think it is pretty cool looking. It's just when you get up close, it's it kind of all falls apart.

[00:19:46]It looks very silly. I think just for that I might put it above the brown house. Yeah, look at how it looks in the distance on top of the hill. That looks pretty cool. I think I'm going to put it at full. And I'll leave this at five and then the blue at six. Okay. Yeah, that's my final statement on the build. I like it further away. That's a very cool thing to have in the distance, I think.

[00:20:12]Strange pumpkin house. Just the build itself. I don't know. Looks pretty ugly.

[00:20:18]And I think I did use everything aside from lava fire. I don't use the boat either.

[00:20:27]Put the boat on the tree. There we go.
