[00:00:23]Today we're here in the F5 E3 Tiger 2.

[00:00:27]Uh many of you will just know this as the F5. And uh we're going to be hitting a Russian resupply point uh fairly deep behind enemy lines and we're going to have to sneak our way in. So we're going to head over to the autobond and we're going to take off with the F5.

[00:00:49]I'm not that heavy today. I'm carrying a lot of bombs. Uh nine Mark 82 snake eyes but no fuel tanks. So, we're a little bit lighter today, which I believe will be imperative for getting this thing off the ground. If it had fuel tanks, if it had more pylons that had fuel tanks, I think maybe we wouldn't get off the ground uh in the allotted space here. Okay. Or taken the runway autobomb.

[00:01:38]Just line ourselves up here. Flaps down and come to a complete halt. Okay. All right. We're going to push up the uh nose strut. There we go. Rolled forward a little bit. Yeah, you can see the nose coming up here. Look at this. I love this. Very cool.

[00:03:13]Okay. Uh, with the nine bombs, we should be able to do a vast array of damage on the ground. So, even if I miss by a little bit, uh, some of those bombs are going to hit the target. And it is an ammunition resupply point. So, we're going to get lots of secondaries. I think problems will just solve themselves.

[00:03:46]All right, we're going to go in low again cuz there may be Soviet Sams out there. I have some people comment every now and then. There's always one guy who goes, "I don't know why you fly in so low. Like, it's not realistic." And I don't know what you're talking about. I would encourage you to read some of the missions from the Vietnam era, whether it was F4s, Skyhawks, Thuds, coming in low altitude was very common. Uh, it's been common probably right up until modern day. Supposedly, some of those F5 attacks the Iranians did. um on Beering Air Base, you know, they probably came in low altitude. So, I don't know what this concept is that flying low is not realistic. I I don't know where people are getting that from. It's actually very realistic, especially if you're fighting Soviets with SAMs.

[00:04:47]you know, maybe things changed a little bit in the modern day, but that's cuz you're doing seed and that kind of stuff. It's a completely different environment in the modern day. But if we're talking about like, you know, 60s, '7s, 80s, even 90s, quite honestly, uh, coming in low altitude is very much not unrealistic at all. So, and this thing flies pretty decent down low. Pretty fun flying this thing down low. Look at those. Almost hit power lines there.

[00:05:32]It's very fun. Very zippy little aircraft. Has pretty decent roll rate, too. Nothing like the A4 Skyhawk, but still has a good roll rate.

[00:05:48]In terms of uh sidewinders, we're carrying the Papa-5s, and those are all aspect uh sidewinders. I believe they were actually the very first all aspect sidewinders. Zipping through some trees here.

[00:06:09]And so if we come across any targets that we're going to have to, you know, dog fight, we'll do that. But that's not what I want to do in this mission. I want to get in, drop the bombs, and get out. There's probably a lot of AAA, and I believe the SAM sites have been knocked out here.

[00:06:35]All right, just over this ridge line here. We should be lined up. I'm getting RWR spikes from uh multiple rollins.

[00:06:42]Those are obviously friendlies.

[00:06:45]But like I was saying, uh SAM sites have been knocked out here at least temporarily until the Russians set up some more. And so that gives us a very brief uh window of opportunity to try to get in there.

[00:06:58]And I have the depression set to 80, which allows for a 20 degree dive. But, you know, that's probably not going to happen. Once I attack, once I start this attack run, you know, I'm going to take so much fire probably from all directions that I would just be lucky to line it up. Which is why I brought nine bombs total so I can just hit like a wide area and just smash it, you know?

[00:07:18]Um cuz I'm probably not going to be able to just set up my own dive angle nice and easy 20°, you know, without being shot at. There they are. Right there. I see them going to line it up here. Look at this.

[00:08:47]There's so much. I'm amazed I didn't get shot there when I was dropping those bombs. They shot so many rounds at me.

[00:09:03]And yeah, we're taking all kinds of AAA.

[00:09:05]So, I'm not going back in there. AAA is heavy.

[00:09:10]We're going to just egress out of this area.

[00:09:16]All right. Well, that was pretty good.

[00:09:18]That was pretty decent. I'm happy with that. It's a zippy little plane. I like it, man. And it's also It looks kind of nice. Look at this. There's a roll in sight shooting here.

[00:09:31]Yeah. But as I was saying, I think the F5 is uh one of the more attractive aircraft of back in the day. You know, it's just looks like a fighter. You know, it looks like it is just a mean little pit bull. And actually did quite a bit of damage there with the amount of bombs that just came off there. Like nine Mark 82 steak eyes. I bet you that's resupply point. I know it got smashed, but it must be destroyed.

[00:10:01]All right, let's uh like I said, let's head back to base. We'll land this thing and maybe we come back up here to do some air to air. We'll bring the Sidewinders out. See how good this thing dog fights. Um, if we can find any like make 21s or something Heat. Heat.

[00:11:20]Okay, we're out here. Uh, no bombs this time, only side winders. Papa dash fives.

[00:11:26]And honestly, this thing was a pretty good dog fighter for its era, for its time. You know, it will smash an F4 in a dog fight. Um, I think maybe the F4 can win in a two circle. Maybe. I could be wrong about that, but I think that's true. But why would you do that? Just take them one circle and uh the F5 should be able to win. It's what I plan to do against the M2 out here anyway, if I can find one.

[00:11:53]Here we go. After we bomb this site and make 21 is in the area and where there's one, there's two. But right now, I'm only getting uh RWR for one, which is fine. We'll kill him and then we'll sort out his buddy.

I wish it carried more cuz I feel like it was a pretty capable dog fighter. Kind of racked up a lot of kills. All right, let's uh let's get out of here. Let's go back and try to land this thing.
