Fiber reinforced concrete, using tough strand fibers at 1% dosage (5 lbs per yard), provides structural reinforcement for alleyways as an alternative to traditional rebar, allowing for easier installation while maintaining structural integrity; the concrete is poured in sections to ensure even brooming, with tool joints required by city specifications, and proper curing is essential before saw cutting.

This Concrete Chute Came Way Too CloseHinzugefügt:
Give me everything you can.
Luckily, I was paying attention cuz he went right at my foot. Just blew my ankle right out halfway. Come back for the other half.
All right, morning everybody. Got a little alleyway we're pouring.
They don't put rebar in. You can put rebar in them or big fiber. They're called tough strands.
So, we're going to show you how we do it. They're big, big fibers. They look like little pieces of plastic.
And then we got an approach to pour. So, we got 20 yard.
We'll pour halfway, come back, pour the other half. That way it all brooms the same. These get saw cut. This gets tool joints is what the city requires.
There's our strand.
Man, these fibers are huge.
You under a little.
Give me everything you can.
This alleyway has a little bit of a valley in the middle. Got plenty of fall. So, we really don't need to check it. It's hauling holding downhill good. So about 20 yards here going down a little >> just a little bit. It's a valley.
>> We want to measure up, Tommy.
>> Yes.
Jeff, how you doing, buddy?
>> Good. How you doing? We're going to measure up, see if we need more of this tough strand crap or not.
>> We shouldn't need any more of it.
>> Got five yards or 5 lbs per yard in there.
>> No, I meant one more truck after that.
>> No, there's a lot in there.
>> Yeah, >> that's, you know, that's a city spec on it.
>> Yeah, >> it's just so much easier to do it without the rebar cuz then we can drive in and we don't have to mess with all of it.
>> Oh, yes. old cheaper in the long run, too.
>> Yeah, that stuff works pretty good cuz we've had to tear it out before and it it holds on.
>> It does, doesn't it?
>> Yeah. They said they might be by just the city. So, I don't know.
They must trust you guys.
>> I guess so.
>> 22 yards.
>> Yeah.
>> 27 to there. I went 30. It's 27 ft went there. I just went 21.
So, that's 6 in.
right there.
>> It's probably right there.
>> So, yeah. Two more.
>> Yeah. Two more if you would, please.
>> They all come out one or four. Everyone wants to see.
>> Oh, this is cool.
>> Hey, let's go. 22 yards total on that tough strand. Yes. And then we'll get some unfigured for the front and that'll just be the city mix stuff. Yeah. I've had them a couple times when I tell the driver I told Alex and they just pulled them off to another job and they're like, "Oh, you got to call us." I'm like, "Why wouldn't you call me?"
>> That's [ __ ] stupid.
>> It's one of our one of our stupid [ __ ] things.
>> And I'm like, "I don't want when I call in then you switch trucks around. I want that same driver to come back cuz we It It keeps our spacing right. It does a lot of stuff, right? But >> And they know where they're going and all that.
>> Exactly.
>> Cuz they do swap out trucks all the [ __ ] time. Like >> they do.
>> It's like, "No, it's we just got them.
He knows exactly what's going on. We'll fly right through it and we'll have that truck back to you faster. I promise."
>> Yeah, >> man. You see how much is on the wires and stuff? Just gobs of it. the fiber >> both float. I think this is what it is.
>> Wait a little and B float again and then Fresno.
>> No, it just got 1%. Yesterday did good.
>> Yeah.
>> Not trying to kill myself every morning.
So, I got to come out here and do this.
>> I know. Sometimes like Monday's workout feels great. Tuesday, I'm a little sore and like, oo, it's harder today. And then >> But you probably never fluctuate your numbers. No. Do >> the same thing. do the same thing every time, >> no matter what they call it. I think it's called like the military workout where you're doing the same thing every day. You know, maybe take the I take the weekends off, but >> I think it does >> it's a different type than just working something out to where you're completely done, then you don't work that out for another week. It's a different style.
So, >> yes.
>> Yeah, we've been doing the same thing.
>> Yeah.
We could have him finish that. Let me see.
>> Yeah, I'll tell them.
Hey, give me a few feet on that right side first so we get them even and then that way we're not driving in this stuff. Yeah. Let me come back.
Back up. Mix that up for a minute.
Heat.
Heat.
Yeah, I just want a little more right here.
Okay.
Little more. A little more.
[ __ ] Woo. I kind of want to call. What's the yardage on that?
>> 5.8. Go. 6 and 1/2.
>> 6 and 1/2.
>> I think >> that's just the regular city mix. They add a 6 in there. That they're not answering.
>> Huh?
>> Oh, now they're calling me. Yes. Hey, uh, can I get We need another 6 and 1/2 yards, but that won't have the tough strand. It I think it's just the regular city over here on First Street with the one. Keep the 1% in it if you would, please.
Yeah. Awesome. Thank you.
>> Is it doing much?
>> Doing anything? A little.
They release a little bit. They're supposed to. Yeah, there's a steak down there we got to get out.
>> I got the other one out and I couldn't get it out. I mean, >> my edge, too. I can't walk no more.
>> We can put Estabbon out there on boards if you have to. Luke is saying it to it took us almost a year to get 1,000 subscribers.
We just got 400 last month. It's freaking cruising.
You pretty much knew the first 100 people, >> right?
If we got any extra mud, we can just lose it in that over there, guys.
We came back right on time. We'll have some nice weather now and everything. It was a little hot last couple days.
>> Huh?
>> He's coming over here to watch out for me now. No, he's done.
I got another truck coming for this front. I'll put a slice in there where the joints are cuz we're going to lose that marks on the farm.
Those are like 68ish.
20 ft into the three, but I don't know if it's exactly 20T.
That looks good enough to broom.
Do you see that truck when he was he meant to back up and he pulled forward >> like he broke the [ __ ] >> Yeah. Well, luckily I was paying attention cuz he went right at my foot.
I was like, that just blew my ankle right out and done probably forever.
He hit the ground with the shoot.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat. N.
Huh? Huh?
>> It's >> not bad. The fibers really hold it.
>> Kelly was like, "Hey, I might have you cover it."
>> Yeah. We'll see how hard it gets.
>> Hey. Hey. Oh. Hey.
One sec.
Yeah, this is terrible.
Not quite far enough, but it was busted.
>> Oh, was it?
>> So, which kind of worked out anyway cuz we had to retake that >> elevation.
>> Yes.
>> And then it didn't have a curb wrapping around like we did this one, but we decided that it would be better to have a curb on.
>> Yeah. Just retain that. Okay, you're good, Tommy.
That front asked me, he goes, "Which way am I coming in?" And I said, "Well, if you're the driver," I go, "I don't know." like we'll have to see how it is when you get here. So, at least you thought about it.
And do me a favor when you put these in, make them all dead even, >> okay?
>> Please.
And then I know if the straps loose, if any of them move sometimes, this one's got to be super tight. That one just has to be tight.
>> Okay.
I was going to put a little slice in that concrete for Dan >> for the joint.
>> For the joint when he's snapping.
>> Are they 68 exactly?
>> 68 and 316. But I don't Am I going to be here with him?
>> Probably. I'll send you back. We can go set up and you can come back or >> whatever.
Yeah, you get some cutters and cut All that >> Conor.
>> You think we can pull that header without having to do a bead?
>> I pulled all this. I think we can.
>> Then you guys can bang the [ __ ] out of it.
Go get some vice grips. Hey, quit banging on it. You're going to make it fall. Go get some vice grips out of my truck. Show them where the vice grips are.
>> I got it.
>> Oh, you just had to pull it.
>> There's the vice grip.
>> He just pulled it out.
>> I have my strip at all times.
>> Yeah. Were you pulling or pushing?
Get that ticket.
>> Pour this. We'll pour this curb and a bead so I can float that.
>> You want to add a little bit.
>> Pour me a bead all the way down that and that curb. Then we'll come up and on this inside I want to pour a bead. Don't pour the gutter yet.
>> Okay.
>> At this nail, it's all the way down. So, just a little bit over there. And then at that nail, right at the telephone pole, it goes back up. It ran up.
>> Yep. And it's only up on that side.
This is a comment link just sent me that somebody said. It says, "I've watched victory from start about 5 years, and you and your boys would put them to shame. You and your crew are real concrete men. Cheers from Glasgow, Scotland."
>> Damn, >> that's pretty cool.
>> Yeah, it is.
>> We'll get everything cleaned up, load what we can on the trailer, >> but once everything's clean, You know that's string cheese. You're supposed to pull it off in strings.
>> I can't eat it like that.
>> You're a cold eater.
>> I have to pull it off in strings.
>> I think the the Cole says her dad eats it like that, too.
>> Tony eats it like he has a meat stick and a >> Yeah, I got to pull them off in strings.
>> String cheese for a reason.
>> Last longer. What? You going to have two bites and you're done?
>> Take five minutes to eat it. Yeah.
>> Took five minutes finding it out your truck cuz I ate a couple eggs.
>> He had to He had to hard boil a couple eggs real quick.
All right, let's pull this. I think we can pull the face.
You didn't.
That's the one. As you're going down that from that joint down, edge that nose.
>> Okay.
>> Cuz that the nose won't fit. Yep. Nose it. Nice and light. Easy.
>> What time you might be able to pour tomorrow?
>> I think 7:00. I don't see why not.
Okay. And I got that's what I have, but Miguel just called me. So, >> okay.
>> I'll I'll just tell him seven for right now. It's going to be over 10 yards, right?
>> I don't know that I don't think so. That 172 ft we set up is 5 yards.
>> And the other one is a little bit 50/50.
Oh, it might be right there at 10.
>> I'll leave it at 10 plus right now.
>> Okay.
>> There you go, Dan.
Oh yeah, nothing.
This curb got edged like [ __ ] I'll just leave Dan here to cure and Wesley could >> You're going to cure before we saw cut?
>> Yeah, I'll get it cured now. It'll be dry by then. Dan, I'll leave you to cure and then you can come over.
>> Okay.
>> I'll And Wesley's going to stay. We'll just have him >> Oh, he's babysitting.
>> He's babysitting.
>> Perfect for him.
>> Yes.
Wesley, I'm going to have Dan cure, but you're going to stay here and watch this.
>> Okay.
>> You got to babysit. After it's cured, I just park right there or something. You move some comb, move up just so you can see or sit outside, however. But you need to stay close, >> okay?
>> And you need to yell, "Someone's coming." But Tommy's got to double wrap it all. We're just We're right down the street at the soccer field and then we're going to come back and saw cut.
So, we're going to get some white cure on this. That's it. It's our alleyway and approach. Please give me a thumbs up.
