>> It was for three weeks of services in November and reimburseable expenses.
>> Okay. Um what did you do with that invoice when you received it?
>> Um I checked Well, immediately I knew that it was incorrect because I had paid her um weekly for two of those weeks. So it raised a flag. I needed to figure out had I made a mistake or have she made a mistake and that caused me to look a little bit further into the reimburseable expenses. We're much more structured on the business side. So, I usually audit those before paying them.

>> So, when the flag was raised and it caused you to look a little bit deeper, um what did you do to look a little bit deeper?
>> Deeper.
>> I pulled up every payment that we made to her for the last 18 months. As far back as I could go. Um >> she did some work, y'all. She did some investigation. She just didn't say, "What did I say?" She did some work >> and then I went through every receipt and reimburseable that we paid her for the last six months. Sorry. And at the conclusion, so would you describe that as as a kind of an audit?
>> Yeah. You know, if you receive an invoice and it's incorrect, I want to know is it our mistake or was it her mistake? So, I wanted to make sure that we had paid her correctly.
>> All right. And um what did you learn from conducting your audit?
>> That she had submitted receipts multiple times over the course of six months, the same receipt. um that she had submitted reimbursements for packages sent that were paid by our federal express account for reimbursement um that we had overpaid her.
>> And were you able to quantify the amount of money that she had been overpaid based on your audit?
>> Yes.
>> And how much money was that?
>> Um I think the total was 2500 and change at that time um with >> she was overpaid and she's still broke.
>> An additional 744 that maybe was legitimate. I couldn't substantiate because there wasn't a date on it. So that was more in a gray area.

>> Um did you ask Miss Adams for more information about the money that she was seeking?
>> Yes.
>> Um how did you do that?
>> I contacted Sunny and asked for her email. Um I gave my phone number, even my personal phone number so that she could reach me because sometimes they're in different time zones. Um I reached out to her twice.
>> Okay. And did you ever hear back from her?
>> No, she never responded.
>> Um did you >> cuz she was only trying to talk to Stefan. These are the people she need to be talking to.
>> Tell Mr. Digs what you had identified or >> Steph a you conducted. Yes, he called me. We spoke about it on December 5th.
>> All right. And and what was his reaction?
>> He's like, "Give me a report." And um he had wanted to make sure that she was paid and I told him I would give him a report and he was fine. Um in the course of conducting your audit or actually that um did there come a time when you were aware that there was some paperwork not completed that you would have expected to be completed? Um, at the beginning when I took over, I asked for those things as um I think it was the beginning of December when the um my voice didn't match what I had. You know, I'm buttoning things up. It's the end of fourth quarter. Um we're closing out the end of the year, so I wanted to make sure we had everything. So, you know, I was going through everybody's paperwork, but yes, it was about the beginning of December. I realized we don't have paperwork.
>> All right. And did you do anything about that?
>> Yeah, I had asked Sunny to um I had mentioned to Steph that I think we should get one. He said to coordinate with Sunny, which I did on December 4th, and um I didn't receive anything, so I followed up with it as I normally would.
>> And how did you follow up with it?
>> Um I asked Sunny if she had collected it, and I emailed Mila asking for it.
>> Do you remember the date on which you emailed Mila for it? Sorry, Miss >> December 8th.
>> December 8th. Did you follow up again with Miss Adams, if you can recall?

>> And so, when did you meet Mila Adams?
>> Uh, at the same time I went to the house for the first time. So, like around July, September whenever the season started with the Patriots >> of last year.

>> And how much time were you at the house kind of the first time you met Miss Adams?
>> Uh, probably like less than 24 hours or around that time cuz I know I had a client the following day. So, I just had to come do his hair. Um, but that was late in the evening and so I had to leave the following day. Yeah.

>> Be washing his hair too, y'all. Don't forget that. She be washing it, blow drying it, and then braiding it up. It could take some 3 hours or so. What if he's tender-headed? It could be that. It could be anything. She could massage it.

>> Um, and so you met Miss Adams at that point, but did you speak to her? Um I did because um I had to go to Walgreens to get some products and so I asked anybody in the house if they needed anything and Mila said she needed um a sponge, a makeup sponge and so I got have a sponge. When I came back to the house she asked me how much money it was and I told her it was okay and that's the first interaction we had.
>> Okay. Um do you have any other further interaction with Miss Adams after that kind of initial 24-hour stay?
>> Um yeah, when I came back to the house.
>> When was that?
>> I I can't give you exact date but I could like estimate. So probably within two weeks cuz he'll do this here like every two to three weeks. So about two maybe three weeks later. Yeah.
>> You went back to the house in Denim.
Yeah. Was Miss Adams at the house in Denim at that point?
>> Uh yeah. And >> so did you speak more to her when you went back the second time?
>> Yeah. So um can I can we go back cuz even um after >> I'm sorry. Just I apologize. Charles, but did you did you speak to Miss Annage again that second time?
>> We Yeah, we spoke more. Yeah.
>> Right. Um how much time did you spend with her that second time?
>> More time. for like a longer time because we was we were talking about food and she wanted to come to New York to start her restaurant and I'm a business owner and we connected on the fact that she was a business owner and I have like a big social media following and I told her that she needed to do content and I wanted to help her with her content so she could start her business so we connected on that.

>> Yeah.

>> How long were you around at the house in denim that second time?
>> Um I I can't tell you how long honestly.
Um I would say if we had a game and we go to the game together, but for however cuz most times she'll be like the only female there and Sunny will come and go and so I guess spent more time with her.

My mother had made it at the house and it was it was healthy and so I wanted to cook that because I don't want to buy Uber. Um so I was going through the aisles and like picking up stuff and calling or message I text her picture and asked her if it was this one but she wasn't responding quick enough so I FaceTime her.

>> Like shrimp. But so she made matcha as well. So I was trying to find out like what matcha to get um that specific one from tea dealers. Um uh shrimp um pasta, sausage, everything like that.

>> Um do you remember what time that was at? Uh, it was before 6 p.m. for sure because I remember leaving my cart in Target to go pick up some dry cleaning for my boyfriend because I had to get it before it closed. So, I actually left Target and came back to Target. So, it was before 6 p.m.

>> Yeah. So, I was behind the couch. He was on the couch with Mphanie. We were watching um a a Netflix comedy special and we were just there kicking it. Um, he was on his phone. Um, Mila was in the back of us like in a little dining area.
She was on her phone and she shouts over to him, "Yo, Steph, when am I going to get my money?" And uh he responds, "I think you spoke to the accountant." And her demeanor changed, his demeanor kind of change. I wasn't paying any attention to it. I was just doing my job. Um so after a while, she moves from behind in the dining table and she comes to the front like on the side like a seat area thing and she was on her phone and she was just laughing really loud. Um I don't imply anything like stop you right there. You you said she's over on her phone. She was laughing really loud.

>> Was she watching the comedy special? No, she was just on her phone.
>> Okay. So, you said the next later that night or the next morning you spoke to her again?
>> Yeah, like in the like probably midnight 1:00 a.m.ish. Yeah. She came downstairs and we were talking.
>> When she came downstairs, was there anybody else downstairs?
>> No, just me and her.
>> And what did she tell you when she came downstairs?
>> She asked me if she was annoyed.
>> She asked you if >> he said, "Yeah, if he was annoyed."

See, you get too comfortable in these work jobs and you think you family and you think that you can do a little bit more than what you really can do. And I'm seeing and listening and that's what happened in my opinion. She thought she had it in there. She thought she had it in. She thought she could tell him. To prove the first element, the Commonwealth must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant intentionally applied pressure on the throat or neck of Ma Adams. The Commonwealth must prove that the defendant consciously and deliberately intended the touching to occur and that it was not merely accidental or negligent. You may examine any evidence regarding the defendant's actions or words and all the surrounding circumstances to determine whether the defendant intended to apply pressure to the throat of or neck of Ma Adams.
>> To prove the second element, the Commonwealth must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the pressure was substantial. You may consider evidence, if any, about how, where, when, and for what duration the pressure was applied, as well as any evidence of its effect or impact on Ma Adams. To prove the third element, the Commonwealth must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the pressure that was applied interfered with the normal breathing or circulation of blood of Ma Adams. If the Commonwealth has proven all three elements beyond a reasonable doubt, you should return a verdict of guilty. If the Commonwealth has failed to prove one or more of the elements beyond a reasonable doubt, you must find the defendant not guilty.

So over here on the AP the Associated Press it says former Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs is found not guilty of assaulting his private chef. I'm assuming that must be his dad.
Um, Stefon Digs was found not guilty Tuesday of assaulting his chef in a case marked by conflicting accounts of what happened inside his home after disputes over money and their relationship. His trial lasted two days and the jury deliberated for less than two hours. The charges stemmed from a December 2nd incident at his house in Denim where Jamila Adams, a former living personal chef known as Mila, testified that Dig slapped and choked her during an argument. He had pleaded not guilty to felony strangulation charge and a misdemeanor assault and battery charge.
Diggs attorney said the alleged assault never happened and challenge Adam's credibility, arguing the dispute was about money or relationship tensions.
Oo, relationship tensions, including a disagreement over a planned trip to Miami rather than a violent attack. So, she wasn't on the list of people that could go to Miami that he was paying for and she felt some kind of way about that. Sounds like he probably made the best decision.
They pointed to financial demands she made and testimony from friends and employees who said who said she did not appear injured in the days after the encounter. While prosecutors argued the case rest on her account of what happened inside the home.
Um, get out of here. Defense attorney Andrew blah blah blah told jurors during closing arguments prosecutors had not presented a single shred of credible ev evidence that an assault occurred. That is true. There was no assault, no strangulation, no incident at all on that day or any other day. Blah blah blah blah. There she is. That's Jamila.
Um there she is today on the stand. I wonder where she is today. I wonder if she's celebrating somewhere. Anybody thinks that she's out and about in these streets, child? So, anyway, the bottom line is is that she tried it. She planned it. It didn't work out. And as much as it hurts because on that walk, on that journey, we have our healer right with us. And God is so personal with you. He is so intimate that he's with you every step of the way. And so every time you go to collect a piece, thank God. Every time you go and collect another piece, God, thank you for getting me through this day. That's collecting another piece. God, thank you for helping me not internalize this. God, thank you for giving me a new language. God, thank you. As we continue to show gratitude to God, we start to see just how powerful God is as a healer in our life. So, I want you to be with God on this step every single day. I want you to take this up with God because he's going to come in and when I tell you, he's going to bring you together in a way that you will never understand. It is going to blow your minds just because I've been there. I've been at the feet of God crying and screaming what's not rolling down my nose and eyes rolling down my face, eyes to the top of my head because my head was so low. But guess what? In those moments, every single moment, I felt lighter because you know why? God showed me in those deeper moments that I was protecting you from something. It was something that you never saw was coming. You couldn't see it because you had your love blinders on. But I'm showing you the character of who this person is. Because your heart couldn't identify that y'all were misaligned, but I could. Which is the reason why we delight in the Lord and we assign our hearts and we attach our heart and we align our desires with God. Because when we align our desires with God, it becomes his desires. So, we want to thank God right now for showing that that person didn't have the capacity.
Cuz how dare you leave me at my lowest moment. But thank you for leaving me at my lowest moment because I met God at my lowest moment. So God is about to take me to my highest moment. Amen.
