[00:00:00]All right, we're in Revelation chapter 4 and we're looking at verse 11 today, the absolute climax of this throne room scene. In the last verse, the 24 elders fell on their faces and threw their crowns at the feet of the king. Now, John records the exact words that they're shouting to the sovereign Lord.

[00:00:16]"Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things and by your will they existed and were created." And let's break this down because this right here is the ultimate purpose of the entire universe and the ultimate purpose of your life packed into one single sentence. First, look at how they address him. "Worthy are you." Let me shoot entirely straight with you. Down here on Earth, we throw the word worthy around like it's cheap. We talk about who's worthy of winning a championship, who's worthy of a promotion out of the shop floor, but in the pure blinding light of heaven, there's only one who possesses absolute intrinsic infinite worth.

[00:00:57]And look at what they say. "He's worthy to receive glory, honor, and power."

[00:01:02]Notice they don't say he needs to be given these things. God isn't sitting up in heaven suffering from low self-esteem, needing us to pump him up.

[00:01:11]He already possesses all glory and honor and power. True worship is simply a creature finally acknowledging the absolute reality of who the creator actually is. And why is he worthy? They tell us right here.

[00:01:24]"For he created all things." This completely destroys the arrogant modern idea that the universe was just some massive cosmic accident. The Lord God Almighty spoke everything out of absolute nothing. He didn't take existing materials and just rearrange them like a mechanic building an engine.

[00:01:42]He spoke and galaxies slammed into existence. He's the sovereign architect of everything that is. But look at that very last phrase because this is where the theology gets incredibly heavy. "And by your will they existed and were created. And this is the bedrock doctrine of God's absolute sovereignty over his creation. You don't exist simply because your parents met. You exist because before the foundation of the world, it was the sovereign will of the king that you take your breath.

[00:02:11]Every single beat of your heart right now is being actively sustained by his unshakable decree. If he stopped willing you to exist for one split second, you would instantly vanish back into nothingness. When you truly grasp that that your entire existence, your salvation, and your very next breath depend entirely on his sovereign will, it completely crushes your pride. It drops you right on your face next to those 24 elders casting whatever you have at his feet. You were created by him and you were created for him. Don't waste your life living for yourself.
