This video analyzes how political movements often use cultural issues as leverage for political gain, examining the controversy surrounding baseball players writing Bible verses on their Pride Night caps. The speaker argues that the MAGA movement's focus on this issue represents a 'grievance economy' that distracts from substantive policy issues like healthcare, jobs, and the economy. The video highlights how political figures like JD Vance and Josh Hawley criticized the league for penalizing players for their Christian faith, while noting that no fines were actually imposed. The speaker, a practicing Catholic, argues that faith should inspire helping others rather than attacking different viewpoints, and emphasizes that the LGBTQ community will not disappear despite political opposition.

BASEBALL SEASON IS CANCELED! Trump Hacks LOSE THEIR MINDS OVER PRIDE MONTH
Added:Well, Kaylee, why are they trying to make baseball gay? All right, folks. The MAGA media machine is spiraling out of control right now. They're very angry that a handful of Major League Baseball players have been admonished by the league for writing Bible verses in protest of Pride Night at a couple of stadiums across the country. Now, I was at Pride Night on Monday for the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley. It was an awesome night, a celebration of love and progress in baseball. The Cubs came back to win it in the ninth inning. It was an awesome evening. And I don't know why these people can't just enjoy baseball.
They have to make everything weird. And now instead of talking about the economy or the war in Iran or anything that might have a direct meaningful impact in improving your life, they're focused on another grievance. And I think this is the perfect story to talk about the MAGA movement because they are such a broken group of people. They're so angry at the existence of the LGBTQ community and they're going to use that as leverage to try to win the midterms with these culture war issues. It's disgusting.
Let's dive in and expose these people for who and what they are.
Before we get started, make sure you're subscribed to the channel. Be sure to engage with this video. Help us to continue to build an independent media company that can call these mega clowns out for what they are. So, let's start here. This is Landon Rob. He's one of the players that decided to put a Genesis quote on his hat in protest of Pride Month. Here's why he said he did it.
>> The Genesis written on your camp. What was the specific chapter in verse that you have?
>> Yeah. Uh 12 through 16. Um it's just about um God's covenant and a promise that he makes to us. Um that you know his his faithfulness and his mercy. Um and it's just kind of something I believe in and I stand firm in that. And um thankfully we live in a a country where you know we have the freedom to believe what we want. So um yeah I'll I'll stop it there. I mean look obviously you have the right to believe whatever the hell you want to believe.
I'm a practicing Catholic. Like my faith informs the way I treat people. And I've decided to treat people as human beings with respect and decency and love and compassion. And I would respect Landon Rob and these other people who did this and these other people who were out there in the MAGA ecosystem. And I'm going to show you a bunch of different examples of these people acting like just total whiners and losers because they hate gay people. I would respect them more if they were just honest about the reason they were protesting in the first place. They oppose the existence of the LGBTQ community. They oppose them having equal rights under the law. They oppose them being recognized for one night or one month. it is offensive to them that we would ever be celebrating this. But Major League Baseball stands firm, as do a lot of major corporations in the era of Trump, in continuing to do these celebrations. And it's a beautiful thing because while there are no out LGBTQ members of Major League Baseball right now, I can guarantee you there are probably a lot of people who are, but they don't feel comfortable coming forward likely because of the culture that they're a part of. It it it there are a lot of fans who love the sport and I saw them on Monday at at the at Wrigley Field. It was awesome. They're out there and we should be celebrating this and we don't have to turn everything into some dumb political thing. But the Republican party and the MAGA movement feel the need to make everything about a grievance. They feel the need to inject themselves into every cultural moment. So now this is all that's dominating the discourse inside the Republican party. And and before I start to show you all the insane reactions from the right, I'm going to take a trip backwards for a second because this is the type of thing that's been happening forever. Look at this story that my team found from 1996 from almost 30 years ago. It's from the Washington Post. Giants Dwey is criticized. A Giants pitcher who refused to join in a pre-show game of solidarity with AIDS volunteers is being criticized by some gay leaders. Mark Dwey, a fundamentalist Christian, also wore his red AIDS ribbon sideways during quote, "Until there's a cure day on Sunday, making the looped ribbon resemble the Christian fish symbol." Mr. Dwiey's behavior, quote, was so repugnant to many of us in the stands that I seriously hope you will consider trading him or giving him giving him his unconditional release, John Pebba, a volunteer with the AIDS support group Project Openhand, wrote in a letter to the team president, Peter Magawan. Now, listen, I I want to make a couple of things clear because the MAGA movement's been lying about this for a while. You are not required to wear these hats.
Okay? There were lots of people who made a decision for one reason or another, and that's between them and God and their friends and their family to not wear Pride merch. I don't think you should be forced to wear anything. But if you're going to wear it, just wear it and don't make it about you. And for this guy in particular from 30 years ago to be rejecting like acknowledging the AIDS situation, acknowledging the victims and trying to fight for a cure to me is disgusting in the same way that so many of these people wanted to make it about them. Okay? It to me it's fundamentally selfish to do this. It's just disgusting. And again, I would respect any of them more if they were just honest about what their actual intentions were instead of hiding behind a Bible verse. Now, of course, this story has fired up Fox News and lit up X and it's lit up Republican members of Congress. So, you're getting a veritable who's that of the MAGA movement appearing to inject themselves to get cheap cable news time. Here is Rob Schneider, the famous Hollywood actor in his mind only, talking about how he will pay any fines that are incurred for this. And by the way, they are not finding anybody for this. They just asked them to politely stop doing it.
>> You have offered to pay the fines of these MLB MLB players should they be fined. What motivated that?
>> Well, Kaylee, why are they trying to make baseball gay? Don't we We have enough gay sports. We have the WNBA. We have figure skating. I mean, cornhole is on ESPN. I mean, every mascot is gay. I mean, that's where the whole furry thing, I think, came from. Not 100% sure about that.
>> All right. I I can't even watch any more of that. He's just a disgusting shell of a human being. And he wouldn't even have a career if it wasn't for Adam Sandler shoehorning him in every freaking movie that he makes. I mean, look, it's again, it's a grievance economy for these people. They got to keep the the the MAGA grievance machine just going over and over and over again. But here's what I want folks to know and understand.
Even if they were to find the three players who are who wrote the Bible verses the other day on their head, like Rob, who I showed you the clip beginning, he's made $2 million playing Major League Baseball. Uh JT Browbacker, $10 million. Ryan Walker's made $3 million. So these guys are all millionaires in their own right. They're doing very, very well on their own. If I had to guess, they're probably worth more than Rob Schneider because he's never actually made any real money himself. Okay. Again, he is an ancillary character of the Adam Sandler cinematic universe and he's the perfect example of a mega celebrity to me because he truly believes he really believes this guys just like Adam Corolla that if he wasn't conservative, okay, let's assume that he's conservative and it's real and it's not just an act to make money that he would be more famous than he is. That his career has been held back because of his conservativism and his support for good Christian American values. Okay, which is nonsense and ridiculous especially when you realize that like Chris Pratt, who's one of the biggest Hollywood stars that they frankly shoehorn into every movie. Okay, he's basically the voice of feels like every titular character of an animated movie right now from Garfield to Mario and god knows what else. He is a huge conservative. Okay, the difference is he's generally speaking not a dick about it and he's actually pretty goddamn talented. Rob Schneider doesn't have any talent. Okay, he told three jokes in that clip. None of them were especially funny. Okay, he's not a funny guy. All right. It's just it's embarrassing to me how desperate these people are for attention and how desperate they are to take advantage of people of faith so they can separate them from their money.
And Schneider knows there's no fines that are coming here. Nobody's going to be fined for this. And he certainly isn't going to own up and pay it even if they were cuz these guys are millionaires. They don't need your help.
And don't worry guys, because the vice president of the United States also decided to weigh in because that's apparently what major governmental figures inside the Republican party are doing. Here's JD Vance quote tweeting a Sports Illustrated post on this saying quote Trump won we don't have to do this anymore. And and and and again that's emblematic of the entitlement of the Republican party movement. They believe that because Donald Trump won a narrow election in 2024 that all DEI is dead.
That all ability to recognize anybody who might be different than JD Vance and Rob Schneider or anybody who thinks that way that we don't have to pretend like they exist anymore. And to me it's gross. Okay. They really thought they were closing the door on something. All right. And there's and there was a certain bit of a point they had about wokeism that I think was right. Like there were too many people policing stupid comedians making dumb jokes. But Pride Month isn't going anywhere. We're not going to move backwards and stop recognizing the progress that we've made and celebrate our ability to love whoever the hell we want. What's disgusting to me is that JD Vance with his government account with on on my taxpayer dollars thinks this is the best use of his time. that he thinks that because Donald Trump won an election victory that the Major League Baseball is no longer going to celebrate Pride Month. That to me is the most disturbing part of this. These people are so soft.
They can't live and exist in a world with people who might love somebody differently than they are, love a different kind of person. They have to control every aspect of it. Their existence offends them. And that to me is really, really disgusting. and JD Vance should be busy trying to do something that might actually help improve people's lives. He spent the better part of the last couple weeks negotiating a deal where he's going to send $300 billion to the Iranian government while simultaneously arguing that we can't do anything about people's health care premiums doubling or tripling. We can't do anything about the job market being a mess. We can't do anything to help you. Okay? But he's got time for this [ __ ] And just to show you another one of these guys, here's Josh Holly, senator from Missouri. He moved so quickly to get this letter out to Major League Baseball to say that they're penalizing players for their Christian faith. Again, I can't stress this enough. Nobody is being penalized.
They've simply been asked to stop doing this, to just wear a regular hat. They don't have to wear the Pride merch if they don't want to wear the regular hat.
Stop writing a Bible verse on it. And for the record, if a more progressive baseball player had written Black Lives Matter on their head, they would have been admonished in the same way because the rule says you're not allowed to write on your hat. You're not allowed to write on your uniform like that. That's the bottom line. There were other players who chose not to wear the pride hat and they decided not to make it about them. You feel differently than the league. You want to stay true to what you believe your values are. That's fine. You don't have to make it about you. These people made it about them.
And here's how our government works.
Look how quickly this came out within hours of this story breaking, okay? Was Josh Holly writing and posting this letter and getting it up so that he could get on cable news and make a big show about it. That's what our government is focused on. reformative crap like this. All right. Josh Holly hasn't written a single piece of legislation that would improve your life in any meaningful way. Nothing on the housing crisis, nothing on the job market, nothing on AI, nothing on robotics. They have passed nothing in this Congress in the last year and a half except tax cuts for billionaires.
Okay, that's it. And he's got nothing.
So, they can move quickly on this [ __ ] And you know what? I'll say the same thing in the Democratic party. There are plenty of people in the Democratic party that want to be performative. Even if it's performative in a way that I prefer because it's virtue signaling for my values. All right? But it's still nothing. This is not action. This is not anything. It's nothing. Okay? And I'll remind these people who claim to be Christian. And again, I'll say this as a practicing Catholic. Faith without works is nothing. You talk about your faith.
You twist your faith and use it to go after other people. Why don't you be inspired by your faith to go help people, to help the poor, to help the needy, to help immigrants, to just help an average person who's struggling to get by right now? These people are pathetic. And I would be remiss if I didn't show you guys this because this is and I call him Teeu.
Teeu Charlie Kirk. It is Brillin Holly Han. He is the new Charlie Kirk.
Everybody, they are working hard to make him a household name. He's an absolute adult loser of a human being. Talking about how we stole the pride flag from God. Watch this crap.
>> The same people that have told us that diversity is our strength for the past few decades doesn't seem to allow diversity of spirituality. And they definitely don't want to be inclusive or accepting of Christians like they claim for us to be inclusive and accepting of everybody else. This promise in Genesis was that when God gave us a rainbow, it' be a reminder when we look at it of his promise. It wasn't to look at it and think about, you know, living our own truth or making our own way or grooming kids. And this opportunity here has been completely misguided. So, he's exactly right. We should use this to get back to God.
>> You know, grooming kids, go [ __ ] yourself, Brillin Hollyan. Okay. I want nothing to do with this crap because yours is the party of protect in the Epstein class. Okay? And you've got nothing to say about that. Stop accusing members of the LGBT community of being groomers. It's just simply not true. And it's a disgusting attack. And by the way, there's an epidemic of people inside the Republican party who go online and accuse people of being groomers willy-nilly when they're the ones who are doing it. Okay? This is a well-known phenomenon of Republicans all across this country who are being caught abusing little kids. It's disgusting.
And I'm not just talking about the Epstein file stuff. I'm talking about these little stories in towns all across the country where you find these Republican operatives and volunteers and MAGA guys who are doing it. It's just it's phenomenally disgusting. And let's talk about the rainbow flag for a second because they're so offended that a symbol of God has been taken from them and turned into a representation of true love and true community. Okay? They're so offended by that. But they are the ones who love to steal things and make it their own. They've tried to steal the American flag and patriotism from the left. And so they drape themselves at this UFC fight over the weekend with the, you know, trappings of fake patriotism. And then if you push back against the idea of a cage fight on the White House lawn, oh, you hate America.
They say they love to do that. They do the same thing with family values. They claim that the left doesn't believe in family values when they're the ones that are off cheating on their wives and, you know, praying on little kids and doing these disgusting stuff. All right? They try to hide behind faith and religion.
Okay? These people are fake Christians.
They are fake patriots. They are just fakes and phonies. And they're preying on people's anxieties. Okay? There are a lot of people in this country, whether I like it or not, who have genuine fears and concerns about the LGBT community.
And instead of helping them understand and move the country forward, you have people like Brillin Hollyan, which I simply do not believe is a real person's name. I feel like I'm in a damn computer simulation, okay? Who want to abuse that and and and you know, by the way, kid's got a certain look to him. I think I can guess what he's doing at night. I think when Grinder collapses at the next TPUSA event, it'll be him and Benny Johnson that are responsible for it. But that's between again them and God because I don't really care what this kid's sexuality is. I don't care what other people do, provided it's consensual, okay? Other than that, you can do whatever the heck you want. I don't really care. Okay? I'm like I've said before, I'm basically a libertarian. You should be able to live your life without interference from the government. Marry who you want, date who you want, okay?
Have sex with whoever you want. Okay?
Make decisions about your own body.
Provided it doesn't have a public health uh uh crisis added to it or something, public health concern, I don't have a problem with any of it. And I'm tired of these people injecting themselves in everything. We can't have nice things.
Okay, June is an incredible month in this country. We get to celebrate pride.
There's amazing parades. There's amazing events. There's so much cool stuff going on. And we get baseball. Okay, it's one of the best months for baseball. I would argue May is a little bit better because I like sitting in the cold in Chicago and us on a 55 degree day and in in shorts and a hoodie watching a baseball game. But man, I had a great time Monday night. And what's sad about this is these people, if they were real people, they were real human beings, they should be able to enjoy a baseball game and a celebration of love, but they're so hollow in here, okay, that they don't see the love that's all around them. And they think if they shout enough about it, if they go on Fox News and they create enough attention about it, that these people are going to go away. We're we're not going away. The rest of us aren't going to let this happen. I should note to people like I am bisexual so I do consider myself a member of the LGBT community but I'm in a I'm in a very straight passing relationship so I don't talk about it a ton but like like we're not going anywhere. Okay. Gay people aren't going anywhere. Lesbians aren't going anywhere. Trans kids aren't going anywhere. The queer community is not going anywhere. And they will have allies all across this country who will fight with them. The progress that we've made as much as they want to take it away. It is not going to work. All right? And you can be religious and you can feel however you want about that.
But in this country, the beauty of it is you can believe what you want to believe and I can believe what I want to believe. All right? That's it. That's the bottom line. But it is not an an infringement on your Christian values that the pride flag gets flown at a baseball game, that it gets flown at the state capital here in Illinois. Okay?
Stop being so soft. Why don't you go do something real? Brillin Holly Hands should go try to create something. Start a business. Fix a problem. fix a pothole or a road or something. I mean, these people have no solutions for anything.
They are pathetic and we should continue to call them out for what they are.
