So FBI obtained Proton Mail payment data through a mutual legal assistance treaty through the Swiss authorities. But the problem is EMLAT, the mutual legal assistance treaty they have with the FBI that just says we'll give you whatever you want. So all it takes is for the FBI to say, "Hey, Swiss authorities, we want this data from Proton." And they say, "Hey, Proton, we want this information."
