Florida's rainy season gradually builds up over time, with daily showers and storms becoming more frequent as humidity increases; the jetstream pattern influences regional temperature differences, with areas north of Florida experiencing higher heat indices due to the jetstream's position, while Florida's eastern breeze brings humidity from the Atlantic, creating conditions where 'feels like' temperatures are several degrees higher than actual air temperatures.

Orlando Weather Forecast: More humid into Memorial Day weekendHinzugefügt:
showers and some storms across parts of our area and that's pretty much going to be the case for the rest of the week.
Hit or miss for most of us. Fox 35 Storm Team meteorologist Noah Bergen back with us now.
>> So Noah, there's really a chance of rain every day this week.
>> There is and Lann said it best I think last night where it's the gradual ramp up. We're building into the rainy season. We're not fully there yet, but we can see it coming down the road. Uh from right now, what we can see out the window right now is a good amount of sun, a few puffy clouds. I I think officially we're probably like maybe a week to two away from really being in the rainy season. This is just like kind of an appetizer. It's not really a lot right now for us. It's really the the other side of the state, but we're almost there. We are almost to the point of daily downpours and rain about this time of the day. 87 right now in Lake Fairview. A little bit of an east breeze, too, that's helping to bring in some humidity off the Atlantic. Pretty view in Mount Dora. Had some showers there earlier. Meanwhile, up to our north, the rare day where people in New England in the Northeast might be thinking to come to Orlando to cool off.
In fact, the heat index today in Central Park, New York, got to 99.
This is the view from Philadelphia, 101.
The heat index, what it peaked at today.
Record smashing heat to the north.
Here's the live feels like temps. 91 in Orlando, 94 in Raleigh, 99 right now in Philly, 98 in Boston, 91 in Columbus, Ohio. A lot of humidity in the eastern US, but there is a big front to the west. This cooler air will not be making it to us. It's going to stay to our north. Here's the jetream pattern right now. Why it's way hotter to our north is because the jetream is all the way up into Canada. And when that happens, it actually gets hotter and more humid well to the north of Florida. and that's how it's going to stay for another day or two. All right, so here's Storm Tracker radar. A lot of storms in the Midwest with that front, but that front will not be making it or surviving it towards us for the weekend. Out there right now in Florida, storms are mostly on the western side of the state. That breeze that's out there right now, it's blowing from east to west. That's pushing the daily showers mainly on the I75 corridor. We can also see that with the satellite. I'll notice there's bigger clouds west of Orlando. You see these big streaks of clouds from those thunderstorms. It is pretty clear and sunny now on the I95 corridor. All right, so here's the live radar. At this point, most of our area is done with rain for the day. It's over on the Gulf Coast right now. We have one tiny shower though that just went through the Mims area heading towards Geneva. One teeny shower in south of Popka and Lockheart.
A little downpour here heading towards Leburg in the south end of the villages, but really that's about it as of right now. You can see all the bigger storms over towards Clearwater, St. Pete, and up towards Citrus County. Temperatures right now, 86 in Sanford, 86 in Bifll, where it's rained a little bit more. 78 in the villages in Ocala from earlier this afternoon. 84 now in Melbourne, 86 Cocoa Beach. Right now, we're in that very humid category. We're not tropical yet. Maybe by later this weekend though, we're going to get there in terms of the humidity. Once you factor in those due points in the humidity, the feels like readings are a couple of degrees higher than the actual air temperatures. All right, so here's your forecast. Clearing tonight, low to mid70s and humid with a little bit of that east breeze. For your Wednesday, similar temperatures, hot, low 90s inland, mid 80s at the beaches, humid with the humidity. It'll feel about 5 degrees hotter than the actual air temperature. and we'll watch for a couple of random afternoon showers and storms, but again, most of it west of Orlando the next couple of days. Don't forget Friday night, our track of the tropics season preview at 7:30. Talk to you more about the Memorial Day weekend forecast when I see you in the next half hour.
>> All right, Noah, thanks. We'll see you then. Coming up on Fox 35.
