[00:00:30]He was 70 years old. He could have fled.

[00:00:33]Instead, he drank the hemlock.

[00:00:36]His student Plato was devastated. And from that devastation came the allegory of the cave.

[00:00:44]Prisoners chained in a cave mistake shadows on a wall for reality.

[00:00:49]One prisoner breaks free, sees the sunlight, and returns to tell the others. They don't believe him. They try to kill him.
