All right, welcome back. Today, let's look at the top 10 smallest minor league ballparks. The kind of place where you can get to know everyone in attendance, hear the players strategize in the dugout, and maybe give them all a high five on the way out. All stadiums here have a capacity of under 5,000. All can be found at the single A or high single A levels. If you've been keeping up on my stadium videos lately, several of the ones you'll see here today are repeats of ones seen on the newest and oldest minor league stadiums, but some of them we'll be looking at for the first time.
Going by seating capacity for this. So actual capacity with standing and grass seating and all may be much higher.
Anyway, here we go.
Number 10, Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Home to the Bowling Green Hot Rods of the South Atlantic League. High Single Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Capacity is $4,559.
Opened in 2009 at a cost of $28 million.
That'd be 42 million today. Grass surface 400 ft to center, 318 to left, 326 to right. The bullpen in left pushes the foul pole closer to the field which creates a tight triangle in the left corner. The wall is shorter in left and makes some sharp turns in center. It features a wraparound concourse, two-tiered seating, covered and uncovered available, press boxes behind home plate but off to the third base side a little kids area down the right field line. An outdoor patio set down the left field line. tiered picnic table sitting at the left field corner. A large video board sits at right. It's 35 feet tall and 56 feet wide. The buildings of Bowling Green form the backdrop.
Number nine, City Stadium or Bank of the James Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Home to the Hill City Howlers of the Carolina League. Single Affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. Capacity is 4,281.
Opened all the way back in 1940. It cost $280,000 to build at the time. Today it would cost 6.5 million. The grandstand was rebuilt in 2004. Grass surface 390 ft to center, 325 down both lines.

Luxury suites on the second level.
Bleacher seating on the first and third baselines. A tiered party deck in the right field corner. Video board sits in left. Off in the distance, you can see the buildings of downtown Lynchburg and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Number eight, Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach, Florida. Home to the Daytona Tortugas of the Carolina League.
Single Affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.
Capacity is 4,200.
Opened in 1914, it is the oldest ballpark that's the full-time home of a minor league team. field is artificial turf. 400 feet to center, 317 to left, 325 to right. Jackie Robinson, of course, is honored here, including a statue of him just outside the front gates. A small covered wooden grandstand featuring electric fans and lights.
Support beams result in plenty of obstructed views. Press boxes on the roof. A newer concrete grandstand provides additional seating on the third baseline. Covered party decks on the first baseline and in the right field corner. Scoreboard and left, a bridge and palm trees beyond the fences.
At number six, we have a tie. The next two stadiums both have a capacity of 4,000. The first one is Home Trust Park in Asheville, North Carolina. Home to the Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League, High Single Affiliate of the Houston Astros. Previously known as McCormack Field, it was just renamed Home Trust Park last month. Opened in 1924, it's one of the oldest in minor league baseball. It was built at a cost of $200,000 at the time. In today's dollars, that's 3.8 million. Natural grass surface only 373 ft to center, 370 to left center, 320 to right center, 326 to left, and just 297 ft down the right field line. To make up for that short distance, the right field fence is 36 ft high. Seating bowl from first to third with a small press box above the seating behind home plate. rail seating and a picnic area on the third base side.
Scoreboard is in right center. The backdrop, one of my favorites, is a large hill covered with trees.
The other one at number six with a 4,000 capacity is PK Park in Eugene, Oregon.
Home to the Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League, high single Affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Also home to the University of Oregon's baseball team. Opened in 2009, construction cost was 19.2 million. Today that'd be 29 million. Turf on the surface with a large yellow O in center. 400 ft to center, 335 to left, 325 to right.
Capacity is 4,000, but in 2017 they had a one-time record attendance of 5,097.
Seating bowl from first to third.
Elevated press box and suite level behind home plate. Group area in the right field corner. Next to that, a patio with several rows of table seating. Scoreboard and left. Trees beyond the fences. Out the right field corner is the University of Oregon's football stadium.
Number five, ABC Supply Stadium in Bello, Wisconsin. Home to the Belly Skyarp of the Midwest League. High Single Affiliate of the Miami Marlins.
Capacity is 3,850.
Opened in 2021, so just 5 years old.
Surface is artificial turf. It's 400 to center, 345 to left, 325 to right.
Seating bowl extends from first to third. A brick facade with a wooden roof provides the press box and luxury suites just above the seating. Concourse wraps all the way around. A covered picnic area sits at the right field corner with levels of table seating in front of it.
Burm and table seating in the left field corner. Large video board in left. Just beyond the right field fence, the water tower looks down on the ballpark.
Number four, Wilson Ballpark in Wilson, North Carolina, 50 mi east of Raleigh.
Home to the Wilson Warbirds of the Carolina League. Single Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Capacity is 3,700 seating up to 4,500 total. Opened on April 14th, 2026. A brand new ballpark built at a cost of $70 million. Surface is artificial turf. It's 400 ft to center, 325 to left and right. Brick exterior on the third base side, grass berm seating, and a party patio. The ballpark includes a hotel on the third bay side where you can book a room and watch the game from your window. Though apparently the hotel isn't going to open until later this year. Scoreboard in left center, a park beyond the left field fence.
Number three, Funko Field in Everett, Washington, home to the Everett Aquaoxs of the Northwest League. High single Affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
Capacity is 3,682.
Opened in 1947, grandstand rebuilt in 1998. Surface is artificial turf. 395 ft to center, 330 down both lines with varying wall heights. Seating wraps from first to third with bleachers on the left and right field lines. Press box above the seating behind home plate.
Reserved front row seating down both lines. Beer garden in the left field corner. Barbecue tent and covered picnic area near the right field corner. A small grass burm behind the right field wall. Video board in right center.
Number two, Giza Stadium in Pasco, Washington. Home to the Tri City Dust Devils of the Northwest League. High Single Affiliate of the LA Angels.
Capacity is 3,654.
Opened in 1995. Natural grass surface.
No special dimensions. 400 ft to center, 335 to left and right. Behind first base is a large sun shade towering over the park. added in 2007 to protect spectators from the setting sun. Press box and one suite behind home plate at the top of the seating. Seating extends just past first and third. Field level seating down each baseline. A raised picnic area in the right field corner.
Scoreboard and left. Trees and housing behind the fences. Mountains off in the distance.
And the smallest ballpark by capacity in minor league baseball is Valley Strong Ballpark in Vicelia, California. Home to the Vicelia Rawhide of the California League. Single Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Capacity is 2,468.
Only 1,888 permanent seats. Opened in 1946, so celebrating 80 years this year. Cost of construction was just $50,000 at the time. It would add up to 825,000 today.
Grass on the ground, 405 to center, 365 to left center and right center, 320 down both lines. Brick facade, grandstand stretches from first to third. Press box and suites at the top.
Additional seating down the left and right field lines. A restaurant and party deck on the right field side.
Another party deck that looks like an old saloon in the left field corner with table seating outside. BM seating wraps around the right field pole. And here you can find the world's largest cowbell that rings when the home team hits a home run. Just beyond the fence and right center is a barn, which is actually the grounds keeper shed. Next to that is the scoreboard in right.
