Constantinople: Bearded Style!Añadido:
These are the famous walls of Constantinople. Initially built by Constantine the Great in 324 AD, they surrounded the city on all sides. By the 5th century, they were expanded into these [music] double line of Theodosian walls you see today.
These walls were so skillfully designed they were almost impregnable until invaders from the Islamic Ottoman Empire arrived in 1453 AD.
>> [music] [music] >> Constantinople's tenure as a premier global [music] trade hub lasted roughly 1,100 years, stretching from its dedication in 330 AD to its fall in 1453 [music] AD. Afterward, it was the capital for the Ottoman Empire.
It was a hub for ships since they controlled this Bosphorus Strait and could tax every ship moving to Slavic north and Mediterranean south.
This passage becomes critically important in the Battle of Armageddon in the future when the king of the north, Russia, rallies his ships in the Black Sea and sails through the Bosphorus Strait and down [music] to the coast of Israel.
>> [music] >> Welcome to the Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest covered [music] markets in the world.
>> [music] [music] >> I don't know how many kilograms I don't know how many kilograms I am.

It's Asia.
I mean, you see a panorama of Istanbul.
We are on the European side.
Opposite of that Bosphorus Strait, that water passage, [music] is the side in Asia.
And you can see behind me is the Sea of Marmara.
And then on this far end is the [music] Black Sea.
We're in the most narrow passageway of the entire world. This city [music] that controls the entrance into two continents.
The capital of the entire world for 1,700 years. We're going to be talking about that in this coming year.
