It is amusing to see the "intellectual" class treat basic construction common sense as a profound revelation in structural physics. This video is a blunt reminder that academic theories are useless if you lack the practical grit to measure a hole correctly.

Concrete was too thin! What would you do?Added:
Get them bicep veins popping. Finally.
Oh man, big rain. Stop. Help. Stop. Good morning. It is Monday, which is not my favorite. So today we are going to finish up my sidewalk in the back. And then that's going to be all the concrete that needs to be poured. And then we're probably going to be back here on Fridayish to uh lay more blocks. But uh after we do the sidewalk today, we're going to go to New Burlin, Wisconsin, and we have a big garage floor pour there tomorrow. And the client set it up himself. So I need to go there and I need to check the measurements, the depth, and just make sure that everything is is proper the way that it's supposed to be. He has a couple steps set in the garage, and he knows what he's doing. I think for the most part, I don't think there's going to be an issue. But either way, we got to set some grade stakes and get it all prepared because I have concrete there tomorrow morning at 700 a.m. And that's going to be the first day where the entire crew is here. Uh we are starting officially today. I'm going to have some of the guys help obviously and there's some other stuff to do as well. Uh but tomorrow is the official start. We have a meeting with everybody, an employee meeting this morning at 7:00 and then uh our season is officially underway. One shout out this morning to Ray and Carol and Sha. Uh the other video I showed that picture there and he put that together, but he also put together these uh binders. He spent a lot of time on this. He made Annie, what are you doing?
He made crazy.
Uh so he made a coloring book for Grace, which is really cool. And then he made some binders like a day in the life and and another binder just uh all the guys just really cool. And I just wanted to make sure to say thank you for that because he put a significant amount of time into putting that together. And it is uh it's very funny actually looking through the binders and the pictures. So thank you for that. All right. Well, as you saw, Annie's ready to go. We're going to take this trash out and I'll see you guys at the coffee shop. Annie, are you ready? How do you look so tired?
Are you so tired?
It's time to go to work.
How much garbage do we make?
Good work.
Hi.
>> How are you this morning?
>> Good.
>> Oh, rewards card today.
>> No.
>> Okay.
>> Would you like a receipt?
>> No thanks.
>> You are all set. Thanks. See you. Like said.
>> Mhm.
>> All right. It's 5:36.
Got a little over an hour to work out before the guys get here. All right. All right, I'm done with my workout. Eric came in.
I'm going to go get some donuts for the guys. Guys will be here in like 20 minutes. So, I figure if we're having a meeting, we should have donuts. I think that's what I'm supposed to do as a boss. Donuts. Cold out this morning, but at least it's clear. Oh, Rento.
Did he get the breaker? Yeah, there's a few things we need to work through on the website. Like I don't think we know how to do return like uh not returns like if somebody reserves a piece of equipment and then cancels we charge a $100 deposit and I don't know how to return that on the system.
I also don't know what to do if somebody rents something and it breaks how to return their money. Good. You got everything?
>> I think so.
>> Okay. I lost one of my arms for the the trailer for the ramp.
>> Oh, you got a strap. That's fine.
>> Appreciate it, man. Always.
>> Yep. What are you doing? A garage.
>> No patio.
>> Oh, tight access.
>> Yeah. Did you use this with the breaker yet?
>> Yeah.
>> You did? Just make sure when you plug it in that arm, the the hose is wrapped around the bucket >> cuz otherwise it can it'll tighten and rip it right off.
>> Same with that one. Yeah. All right. See you later.
>> Thank you. I know. I See you later.
>> I'm going to send you the uh >> I'm going to send send you the link to the website cuz our website's live now.
>> Okay.
>> So, we're actually getting it official.
>> Can't you tell it's number five?
>> Say number five, but it says it's official now. It's number You got number five.
>> I thought it was >> Yeah, the website is live, but I'm not telling anybody.
It It won't show up right now. Even if you search for it, you have to type it in exactly. We don't have it searchable yet because we got to get all the bugs worked out.
Little rays early. 20 full minutes early.
>> Look at that.
>> Donuts.
>> No, I can't.
>> They look good.
>> I saw there was a video one time. The guy he hung a donut on like a fishing string like this and then every time it went down he take a bite and then he push it back up.
That was funny. They are.
>> Look at them bicep veins popping.
>> Eric, people are going to start accusing you of being on right now.
>> I know.
>> They're going to be like, Eric's taking something. He's getting huge.
>> Hey, I'm taking this.
>> Oh, yeah. Element. Element.
>> Water.
>> It's salty. Look at little Ray getting it. Well, this is going to be pretty easy. I got plenty of chairs in here.
I'll just twist a few around. I don't know how many guys we got. Eight or nine or something like that.
I'm hoping to have a good year to be honest. I've just been I've been nervous. I've been nervous like anxiety recently. I don't usually get that, but I've been having anxiety.
Right, Tito?
>> Good morning.
>> Yeah. Ready for your meeting? Yeah.
>> Okay. Is anybody else out there?
>> Okay, good.
Um, just take your boots off. We're going to have a meeting here, >> as you can see. Yeah, I think that's enough.
I'm going to get everybody's opinion on Daryl, too, today. I just don't know what to do with him. I told him to come in tomorrow and then after we're done pouring, we're going to talk about it.
I'm going to see what everybody actually thinks about it, though. I think most everybody's going to be for it, but I don't know that everybody's going to be for it. What's up? We're going to have a meeting in here, but you got to take your boots off. Hey, we're going to go around a circle. Hi, my Hi, my name is Francisco and I'm addicted to concrete. We all say the same thing.
>> Yeah, >> my name is Eric and I'm addicted to concrete. I just can't help but help, man. I just I go to bed and I think about it. I wake I wake up and I'm thinking about it and >> I got dreams. Yeah, there's donuts if you want a donut.
>> You got some?
>> Well, I didn't have any. No.
>> Who bought them?
>> I bought them, but I'm not eating them.
>> No way.
>> I'm trying to make Mr. Olympia this year.
>> What's so funny?
No, but all the prices are on there. You can at least check the prices.
>> Ray, can you go start the dump truck real quick and then come back in here?
We still got 5 minutes cuz we got to What time is your thing today?
>> I got to be there at 1:00.
>> Oh, wow. That's early. He's got appointment already. 1:00, man.
>> First day. Oh, you boxing, Tino.
>> He's trying to get in shape for the season in 5 minutes.
>> 200 >> 200 lb.
>> Yeah.
>> Wow. That's more than you were.
>> That's all muscle.
>> Yeah, right.
That I doubt. Ke a new guy. He's basically going to be the rental shop guy.
>> He's going to help us with concrete in between and basically he's going to do whatever >> until the rental starts >> waking up. So, you know, I was thinking a couple things. Number one, um like do you know how to do a return? Like if somebody like if equipment breaks on a job and we have to return their money, we have to figure that out.
>> No, I don't know how to do that yet.
Yeah, we have to figure out fuel, you know, how that actually works if they bring it back empty.
>> Mhm.
>> You know, we have to figure that out, >> you know, how to how to charge them for that. So, that's a couple things already.
>> And then the insurance, huh?
>> Yeah, that's another thing. The insurance that PCIS or whatever it was called that they offer.
>> Yeah.
>> Through the company. That's another That's another thing we got to talk about. When rent when he brings it back, when I have a full tank and he brings it back half and he tells me it's he filled it up.
>> Who else are we waiting for? Just Big Ray.
>> Pat?
>> No, Pat's not coming today. Doesn't it seem like we're missing somebody?
>> Yeah, I was Who is that? I >> think when the patio's all done later in spring, I'll have a party.
>> Yeah, >> that's what I was thinking.
>> I was going to hire somebody to cook for us, though.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Like like maybe somebody famous.
>> Dude, >> for real.
>> Huh? Gordon.
Gordon. Gordon Ramsey.
>> Look at my healthy crew.
>> I know, dude. I can't believe it.
>> Oh, don't break my hitch. Stop, >> man. He's No big rain. Stop.
Stop.
Dude, you're pushing the whole trailer.
The jack is stuck and it's going like this again. the first time you hook it up.
>> Man, we need a camera, dude.
>> We need a camera.
>> That thing is messed up. Thing turns off and on. I don't know why.
>> We don't need a camera, man.
You just got to get out and look where you're at.
There never used to be cameras in the past.
>> Dude, you almost broke the jack the very first time. I would have been super mad at you, Caro. Grab the skid loader and help Big Ray load up a skid loader and the attach and the beak. I think we got everything except for stamps. I got to go measure that sidewalk. So, this here tree died and I had my friend Tim come and cut it down on Saturday. Show you a little video of that.
That's sad cuz we really love those trees. And I'm not sure what happened, but that one died and those two didn't die. So, but they're bare here. So, I'm thinking to dig that stump completely out and plant something new. I'm not sure, but have a couple guys clean this up here today. Big Ray and some help.
And then if you haven't watched the previous videos, putting in a patio back here. And then today we're pouring out the last little bit of concrete, this sidewalk here. And then over the weekend, I decided I'm going to put a pillar. I'm going to walk around. It's still wet, believe it or not.
I'm going to put two more pillars in.
I'm going to put one here.
Boom. And one here.
Poom.
That way, even though there's no walls around it, the pillars make it look, I don't know, more uniform or more symmetrical or I don't know. I just think it'll look really nice. The blocks, the rest of the blocks should be coming in a few days. So, hopefully Friday we'll be able to get these blocks on here. Another thing we got to do is we got to set up little squares cuz I'm going to pour all the caps custom and stamp them. And there's it's going to be 17 pillars to make caps for.
And I got to order lights for all the pillars as well.
>> That's right. Next is Tony.
>> Hey, it's Ryan from Victory.
>> Yeah. Ryan, >> I have a 9:00.
>> Yep.
>> I need uh two whole yards.
>> Yeah. What makes you want for that, Ryan? seven bag low air microfiber and then put in two 2% NCA and a 4 inch on the slump. Okay, thank you.
>> Yep.
>> Concreted.
All right, I got to get a pencil and a and a square.
I got to get all my kids to move their cars, too.
So, we can get the concrete truck in here. Actually, if I can get two of them to move. I'm just marking this here.
We got to cut it back a little bit.
Knock this chunk out cuz the pillar is going to come right into there just like those two did.
>> Yeah, I didn't see it.
>> Can you go grab the concrete saw with the diamond blade off the form truck? I hear it's here.
We need some forms here.
>> Yeah. Bendy.
>> Yeah. You probably got to cut this one back here.
>> Like that one. Yeah. It's got to look just like that.
>> To the corner.
>> Yeah. It's got to look just like that.
>> Hey, give me the sledgehammer. The big one.
>> What do you want me to do, boss?
>> Help Big Ray.
>> Big Ray. Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> Let's help Big Ray.
>> We need wire mesh and We need wire mesh and rebar for the sidewalk right here.
We need plywood.
>> Yeah.
>> Ryan, back up on the >> for one piece of mesh. You want to back all the way in the driveway, >> man?
>> It's one piece. Yeah.
That's a sharp piece of rebar right there.
It's right where the conduit is.
That's funny.
>> Hey, uh could you do me a favor? cuz you run over to Home Depot.
And uh we need two more PVC conduits, the electrical conduit. I'm doing two more pillars and I I'm totally out of the uh 1/2 in with elbows.
>> Okay.
>> And then run it over to my house. I don't have time cuz concrete's at 9 and I'm still working on stuff over here.
And if they if they don't have 1/2 in, 3/4 fine or whatever. It doesn't matter really.
>> All right. Sounds good.
>> All right. Thanks.
>> Yep. Sorry.
>> You going to put concrete right here, too?
>> Yeah. We got to dig it down just like that one.
>> You get a wheel. So, that's getting this out.
>> What's that?
>> The wheel.
>> Wheelbarrow. No, we'll just make a little pile. A lot of water still.
You want to clean this when you're done.
Clean this. Take these out. Clean this whole end out. We got to put felt here.
So, you probably got to chisel some of this stuff down and glue some felt on there real nice. Felt against the pillars. Yeah. But you're going to have to chisel that concrete down so it sits wet. We'll pull all this stuff out for now and we'll get everything cleaned out and then put one piece back. All right, guys. Put the plywood down. We're going to start. Hey, make sure as he comes farther, put more plywood.
You're going to get felt here.
>> Yeah.
>> Never worked on my chest.
>> Huh?
>> She never worked on the chest.
>> Maybe it's a heart attack. No, it's just just like super >> huge. You can barely move.
>> Huge.
>> Yeah.
>> Like this big.
>> All right. That's going to take a little while.
Hold up. C. Can you pull forward and do like a little wide turn? You're going to You're going to hit the edge here again.
That's how you do it.
That's how you do it.
Good.
Good.
>> Oh my back.
>> Yeah, >> man.
>> I should have had one of those donuts for energy.
All right.
>> They give you extra power.
>> I think there's still some over there.
Maybe later.
>> You want to do this?
>> Yes.
>> Okay. What am I supposed to do?
>> Uh Inspect. Oh, you guys got it.
>> Oh, you're not have nothing to do. Good.
Go put in a footing.
>> Footing.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> In the muddy. You got the boots on.
>> Right.
>> And look at me.
>> How many times you have to change your mind?
>> I think that's it. We >> got wire right here. Okay.
>> Just put it in there. We >> need concrete in there. Easier.
>> Yeah, >> it's a lot of water in there.
>> Yeah, >> I don't know.
>> You think it's good?
Okay, concrete's down. I just I'm going to put borders on the edges of the sidewalk. I think I don't I don't even know. Snap the lines. I was going to cut a joint off each pillar.
I think it's almost going to start to look like too much. I think I'm going to not do that. I'm just going to cut three joints in and be done with it. Sometimes I do too much and I don't like it either.
>> And I think it's going to be too much.
Can you go hold this at the beginning of the concrete up there?
All right.
55.
I'm not going to do all that. I just think it's going to start to look like too too much. Like we tried to make it look too cool and it it turned out like gaudy.
>> They should make some hay dudes like concrete.
>> Yeah, I know. I could talk them into it.
Concrete hay dudes. Some boot company reached out to me last night.
>> Yeah.
That's it. Just going to let the guys finish it up and I'll just stamp it with the texture. I'm going to I forgot to grab the little blue strips for the joints. And I really like how those work and look. So, I'm going to run to the shop. It's only a few minutes away.
So, we can stamp this. Feels nice. Now we can actually walk all the way around and stay out of the mud. I think the guys are just about done with the wood.
I forgot my little blue strippies.
I forgot the little blue. What are you doing, Eric?
What?
>> I forgot the little blue strips.
>> Okay, >> I'm going to be right back. Watch your concrete cuz it's going to be popping.
>> Yeah, I know. How many say you want two?
>> Two. Okay, >> I'll be back.
>> Hey, Ryan. Where's Pete?
>> Who's Pete?
>> Where's Pete's? You said Pete. Taking it to Pete's >> complete landscape supply where we've taken brush several times already on 76th Street.
>> Complete.
>> Man, you're forgetful, dude.
>> You are really forgetful.
>> Complete.
>> Complete landscape supply on 76th Street.
>> Yeah, I know what you're talking about.
Okay. Did you finish? You finished it yet or No, not yet.
>> Not right now.
>> Almost got to do the sun.
>> Oh, man. Better get those that big sun section.
>> Yeah, that's really huge.
>> Yep.
>> We got to go, guys. We got to finish it.
>> Yep. I thought it' go a little quicker than that, actually. I was hoping it's cold out. It's pretty cold, though.
>> It's pretty chilly.
>> Oh, it's probably ready. It's not hard, that's for sure. All right, guys. Got the tree all cleaned up. It looks pretty good. It's kind of nice. There was a big thick uh I don't know. The grass was tall and thick, so didn't really do any damage.
Almost acted like a little bit more padding under the plywood. And this is short. Eric was playing on this.
Garbage man.
>> How's it going?
>> Good. How are you? How you doing?
Oh, that one had water in it. Probably have a lot of that. Probably going to have a lot of that today.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, wow. That one had water, too. Sorry about that.
>> That's all right. Appreciate it.
>> I just got to help the garbage man.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> That was pretty awesome. I have to admit. Taylor text me he got a job. Uh, not got a job. He got a pressure washing job washing garbage trucks.
>> Taylor.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> In Georgia. Yeah.
>> Good.
>> Yeah. He showed me a picture. There was probably like I don't know 30 garbage trucks all lined up. He had to wash them all.
>> How do you get that job? He's just You must kill somebody.
>> Yeah. I don't know.
>> It's just an odd job.
>> Well, you know that's got to be really stinky.
>> Yeah.
>> Washing garbage trucks with the water, the hot water.
>> Nasty crap everywhere. Middle of summer.
>> Even right behind when you're right behind the >> And you you hit it with the hot pressure and then it blows back on your face.
Yes. Oh man.
>> Cuz some of that stuff gets rotted, man.
>> Yeah.
>> In the summer.
>> Just >> No.
>> Oh, got >> Yeah.
>> Especially diapers.
>> Oh, diapers. Yeah. Poop.
>> Used to work for what?
>> A recycling company.
>> Oh, yeah. Yeah.
>> And then we had to separate, you know, like glass and all that stuff. We have >> a deer dog.
>> Oh, the deer. Ooh, >> all rotten and the blood, >> dude. I'm telling you, that was that was something else.
>> Yeah, this rotten stinky corpses. Animal corpses.
>> Yeah. Oh, dude.
>> Yeah. Oh, you want to back the truck up there?
>> Yeah, >> might as well. We can just throw everything right in there and bam. Then we got to go over by the dude's house and just >> check it out. Get all the tools out, set the heights. I don't know if he's got lines snapped or not. I'm not sure. He's got all the insulation, rebar, everything. He's got a There's a drain in there, too.
>> We got to load up the finishing machine.
>> Oh, right.
>> Yeah. Only one side of my nose though.
>> Shut up, Eric.
>> Hey, you got it everywhere. nothing. But I was like, >> in the gym, >> right before I do the heavy lift, I got to hit that.
>> Yeah. Ryan's like, "Dude, he's like, "Hey, give me a pump."
>> It's getting better, though. I'm only doing one side, so the one side's actually starting to return to normal.
Once that side returns to normal, I'm going to let the other side go back to normal.
>> 10 minutes.
10 15 minutes I'll stamp it then we'll head over to the other job.
Hopefully that's all set up nice and we don't have too much work to do. He set the steps which kind of makes me nervous.
A non-conrete guy. He's a carpenter. I mean he's smart. He knows how to work with wood. So but you know it's a little bit different.
I got to check the thickness of how he graded it too.
Man, it still stinks back here, eh?
>> Yeah, it smells really bad.
>> Smells like it. It's just because of the rotten sod.
It's a lot of stamping, man.
>> I know. It's like, >> oo, it's going to be like four mats.
>> Yeah, for real. You told everybody. I'm like, what? Yeah, you told you and him.
What?
>> The spray stuff.
>> Oh yeah.
>> Chemtrails.
>> See that?
>> Yep. Again. They're trying to kill us.
Look at all the sprays, Eric.
>> Dude, for real.
>> They're trying to kill us. And then see, there's another plane. He's not spraying. Come >> on the other side.
>> Yep.
>> That's it.
>> They're trying to kill us.
>> Got to know you guys.
>> Why can't they spray something good like steroids? make us huge and strong.
>> Money.
>> Yeah, >> money. A bunch of money.
>> Spray us with like vitamins and everything so we so we're healthy.
>> Yeah.
>> Spray us with chemicals.
>> Oh, he's spraying right now. Look at that.
>> See, he's spraying the chemicals, spray.
>> Yep.
>> As he goes. How much chemical do they have? Cuz they go for miles and miles and miles.
>> Easy spending.
See the line?
>> Yeah. Take that line out. Do it here, too.
>> Yep.
>> Just kind of raised up. You can see that. Who's that? I thought that was little Ray for a second.
That in the air, baby.
>> Yeah, he is ready.
>> I was like, man, little Ray is even smaller than I remember.
>> Yeah, that's all this. Yeah, no kidding.
It's turning us turning us younger.
>> Get another one.
>> Hey, remember that uh remember that movie? That old movie? What was it when they made everybody little small people, right?
>> Yeah.
>> I forgot the movie.
>> Do you remember the movie?
>> Love this.
>> Well, that's just going to match like that when it dries.
>> I I mean, I like how wide it is and I like the idea of this just going right to the driveway. That was a really good idea.
>> Yeah, that's way better than going around.
>> Plus, the pillars look so nice. Yeah, exactly.
>> Or or will when they're done.
>> This will be all like plants and stuff.
>> Yeah, >> that's so >> And then where the other two pipes are will be pillars, too.
>> Nice. Yeah, I I like that a lot. I like that. That was a good idea.
>> What movie?
>> When the people turned all little.
Remember that?
>> Honey, I shrunk the kids or something.
>> Oh, >> hey, was it Honey I Shrunk the Kids?
>> The kids. Yeah.
>> Yeah. The kids got little, right?
doing all that.
>> Little super little Ray.
>> So, my big hammer still hasn't turned up. The Essential Craftsman. You haven't seen that. The Essential Craftsman hammer. My good one.
>> My My Martinez is gone, too.
>> The green one last year.
>> The green one. He lost.
>> No, I had a wood handle. The one that I got as a gift. The essential craftsman hammer. Remember the wood handle one I really liked all the time?
>> You remember it?
>> I haven't seen it for a long time.
>> I hope that one turns up. Man, that was that was a nice one.
>> Man, this thing is bent, dude. Why is this How does this get like this, dude?
>> Dude, something just happened to this man.
>> This wasn't like this just >> got run over or something. Oh, >> obviously.
>> I mean, this this is this just happened.
>> That's ugly.
>> Glad you didn't blame.
>> Yeah. I hope this is like uh 45 minutes over there. And that's about it. I'm hoping to set some grade pins, get the buggy off, um you know, get the bull float and tools off so we're ready. And then tomorrow morning, all we really have to do is load up the finishing machine and go over there and pour. It's what I'm hoping.
It's nice to have that tree gone before I fell down on its own in the wrong direction. It looks so different without a tree. All right, we are here.
Wow, does this look different.
Really different. He's got a lawn in and everything. That's crazy. How did he get a lawn in?
Cuz I'm pretty sure it was late fall when we put the dry or basement floor in.
Pretty sure. Oh, man. All the drywalls up. Is it painted, too?
Oh, man.
Splash city in there. Let's see. I hope it's not uh I hope it's not going to be too much work. Let's How did he get grass in that fast? It's for sale already, too. Oh, he's got a drain right in the middle. Okay. Okay. He's got a lot of rebar in here.
The steps look seven and a quarter. 7 and a quarter.
Left about a/ an inch gap down below.
That looks good, man. Even cut the horizon on an angle.
Kind of set them better than we do.
We'll put a kicker on each side. The steps look good. It's got a streamline.
It looks perfect.
It's got chalk lines. I got to ask him about the elevations back here cuz I don't think that's right.
That looks too low. I'm going to have to ask him. Hm.
I don't know about this. It shouldn't necessarily be hanging off the footing like this.
I mean, I'll do it if he wants me to, but that should work out good. I'll cut a joint right off this right off the the uh drain. Straight up to the corner of the step. One there and then one here. Cut that in half.
one off that corner. We'll chop that.
And then we I think what we're going to do is we'll wet tool. We'll wet tool this one because that's probably gonna want to crack overnight. And that's definitely going to want to crack overnight.
>> Hello.
>> Where are you guys?
>> We're almost here. Eric couldn't find the address. He forgot where it was. Oh, we have to look at his phone for the address.
>> Dang. We've been here like over 15 minutes already.
>> He said he knew where it was.
>> All right. Almost there in like bends away.
>> Yeah, but I'm going to quick trip.
>> Okay.
>> Get something to eat or whatever. Yeah, this shouldn't be too bad. The whole thing pitches to the drain, so it's a little more tricky to strike off.
And you know, the power t is it's easier to use on a flat floor, but we'll see how it goes. We got plenty of guys to hand finish it, too. It's not a big deal.
Whatever. Quick trip right across the street. Finally.
Where did you guys stop at? McDonald's.
>> No.
>> Yeah, right.
>> I'm going to go look for rappers.
>> Hey, Ryan. I was thinking >> spent over 20 minutes.
>> Hey, Ryan. I was thinking I don't know what you think. I think you should buy a dump trailer and rent it.
>> That will make you money.
>> You must have been reading the comments.
>> Yeah. Grab a Eric, grab a chalk line. We got to rechalk all the lines.
>> I'm guessing it's going to be like this, right?
>> No, it's flat.
It all goes through the drain.
>> We got to strike off all the way around like a big circle.
>> Yeah.
>> He wants everything pitched to the drain. The whole floor.
>> And then we got to tool a joint this way.
Hand tool a joint all the way down the drain. And then one from the corner straight that way. And then the rest will cut cuz that's going to break overnight for surely. I just hope everything's thick enough, man.
Hold this on the drain. Watch.
>> Six.
>> Six.
>> Five.
>> Four.
>> Five and a half.
>> Four.
Three and a half.
>> Good enough.
>> It's It's what it is.
>> It is what it is. I'm not taking it out.
I know. It did look thinner on this drain. Oh, man.
It's only 2 and 1/2 in, dude.
It's only 2 and 1/2 in thick, man.
>> I don't feel comfortable pouring it that thin, dude. It's really thin.
>> Yeah.
>> It's not even really going to help that much lifting that up.
>> What about this?
>> Huh? Well, we're going to We can't really do that cuz we're going to lose our pitch. Just grab a side, Eric. Let's go around it more.
Just go to the corner.
>> Come up high.
>> Well, we have to lift everything. All the forms, everything. Just go. One of you guys go to the corner. No, let air go to the corner. The black mark.
Yeah. The top there. It's on your pants, though. Yeah. It's like two and a half all around the drain.
It's like three here. It's really thin, man.
>> Yeah. I don't I don't feel comfortable pouring at 2 and 1/2 in thick. It's very very thin. That's not going to even if they like right like hold it up like 2 in air from where it is. Hold it on the drain again. It's not really going to that's not going to help it down here.
Go two inches up. Even if you raise everything two inches, it doesn't really help it here. If >> we took out all the foam board, where would we be at?
>> Well, you got one inch be like three.
Well, it' be three and a half.
I mean, that would be a lot better.
>> It would be doable.
>> Yeah, it would be doable. I don't know what else to do cuz >> yeah, >> you'd have to regrade everything or put this up and all your forms and your steps and everything else. Let me just check it here.
Hold it tidy.
>> You're 4 in. That's okay.
>> Yeah, >> I know you put the foam more in. It's a lot of money, but we'll just take it all out. We'll just take it all out. The only bad thing about that is then you're What happens then? You're pouring concrete here and then you have this >> on the bottom of the concrete which is a control joint on the underside of the concrete and then you're going to get a crack there.
>> Just take it all out.
>> I think we should just take it out, man.
>> Let's do it.
>> We'll leave the vis in. You still have a vapor barrier.
>> But the foam board. Yeah.
>> Let's try to get some of the foam just by like lifting the rebar. So Eric, come over here. Let's try to lift this up all in one sheet. So I wonder if we can lift this up.
>> Oh my goodness.
Somebody has >> four guys. Four guys in this.
>> Oh my god. Look how strong I just broke it.
>> You're so strong, Eric.
>> Yeah. Somebody can go under then. And just rip >> as much as we can without Yeah. Just like that. There you go, Tito. There you go.
Little Ray should be under there.
>> Yeah.
>> Nice, Carly.
If they're good, if they're good, set them aside. Don't break them.
>> Oh, you broke it. Lot of power, man.
If you want to If you want to pull the tape off first, >> if you need to pull the tape off first, go ahead.
>> The tape's too strong for you, little race. Oh, >> set it down and we'll take some of the tape off.
>> Oh, they got >> Oh, you're so skinny.
Oh, you know I got Let's do this one first cuz I don't have a height right there.
>> Just take all this rebar too.
>> I think that's it right there.
>> See, that's what I was saying. Like if I would have just came here with little Ray, >> you know what I'm saying? We would have been like, "Oh, mommy."
>> I just had a feeling.
>> Look at that one. That's a long night crawler. It's like a foot almost. Oh, he's shrinking up now, though. Imagine being a worm.
>> That would be crazy. Oh, don't do that yet. Don't do that yet.
>> Yeah, that's that's definitely Go grab a level. That's not right. That line can't be right. That's definitely wrong. That all looks good. But right here, I think this height here is This is correct. Right. Okay, we just got to redo that one. No, I think if we just cut We'll just cut it here. We'll cut the foam. We'll leave the foam under the step. That's fine. We don't want to screw around with all that.
>> Hey, let me see that level again. It looks funny right here.
>> Yeah, I think this this looks like it's the correct mark right here.
>> I don't think this one was right. It's This is the right height. That That's good there.
That one's good, too. It's just this and this. It was I don't know where to put it. Glad >> we're checking it though now, right?
Imagine tomorrow morning and concrete's on the road.
>> Oh, we got to take the foam out.
>> Imagine that.
>> No, that would be wild.
>> Ready for some more foam action. More foam action.
>> All of it's coming out.
>> All of it's coming out.
>> Carlo, you're too heavy.
>> Yeah, I know.
Why >> don't you grab that one?
>> We could cut them ties right there. You know what I'm saying?
>> Let's just cut those ties once Ray gets done over there. We'll let little Ray finish down there >> and grab that. Whoa. Whoa.
>> There you go.
>> Look at the one smart guy. Let's run tape all right on the chalk line, too.
>> Enough.
>> I mean, all the way on the chalk line just so cuz it's He's got everything painted nice.
>> We're almost ready.
>> Just got to really just got to finish taping and plasting. We got a shut off board already over there. Got the tools off. Power buggies there. We got a level. We need strike offs, Eric.
>> We need strike off.
>> We're going to need a lot of different lengths.
>> 20 16 12 That's probably Yeah, that's probably about it.
>> It's not that exciting, Eric.
>> We got all of them.
>> Yeah, pretty much. We're going to cut a joint here, too. I think we'll cut one from corner to corner.
>> And then we're going to hand tool these.
And then from corner, it lines up right to the corner. Hand tool joint there.
>> You got a good tri?
>> I have to go buy some tonight.
>> Why don't you do that? You got money?
You need some? If you have a little bit, >> you got to have a good tri, man. Why don't you get two burn?
>> Well, just whatever. Just get >> just get a couple trials for somebody else to use, too. One for you and one for somebody else.
>> You just bought one, didn't you?
>> Yeah, I got one.
>> You got one?
>> I don't really want Caro to have a T.
>> I don't really want you to have a troll.
>> I like I like the tiny round one.
>> Okay.
>> Give me a little teeny round one. Yes.
You want that?
>> That works great for when it's rock hard. I'll just give you more money.
>> Just get some TRS.
>> Okay.
>> I kind of I've been really only using the little one.
>> Yeah. Well, we need to get out on a hard. It finishes perfect.
>> Yeah, I know. Balance right here.
>> I know. Don't use that, please. He said he's going to use my whole balance on TR. Look at the whole semi truckload of >> TR coming in.
I'm going to go down and check our workout.
>> It looks really good.
>> It does. We poured this floor last fall.
>> Oh, he framed it all up.
>> It's a big basement floor.
>> Turned out really nice, though.
Those are some nice clean saw cuts.
Look how clean those are. The Medus saw.
Same day with the Medusa saw. Beautiful.
This is where we were coming in and out right here.
Man, this is really looking different.
It looks great.
Proud of this floor. Came out really nice. Garage floor is going to come out just as good. It looks good down there.
>> That's why we got this job.
>> He framed it all though.
>> It looks like >> Well, he wasn't going to frame it.
>> Looks small. Well, that's cuz there's all rooms in there now. That was a pretty good size floor, man.
>> Well, it don't look bad here.
>> I don't know how much chloride to put NCA.
>> I don't know how much NCA to put.
>> You got your own water?
>> Uh, no. We don't have water. That would be great.
>> That would be really nice.
>> No, it'll be all right, man. It's an inch, but it's just over the pipe and there'll be a joint right there. It'll hold together. Let's load up the uh finishing machine when we get back to the shop. Okay.
>> On the dump truck.
>> Yeah.
>> Yep. I'll see you back there.
>> See you over there. Oh, little Ray, you can go home, obviously.
Little Ray, >> huh?
>> You can go home from here, obviously.
Okay, >> since you're close already.
>> Yeah, we're starting at 6:00 a.m.
tomorrow >> at the Shopppee.
>> We got a five.
>> Oh, I I'll believe it when I see it.
Okay, we got that figured out. The grade's a little inconsistent. You know, we got from like three and a half, four to 8 and 1/2 in some spots, but I feel comfortable pouring it. It was just too thin with the foam. Two and a half inches. I just cannot do that on a million dollar house. No way. At least now it'll be strong and ain't going anywhere. Especially with all the rebar.
Even 3 and 1/2 in. And it's only a little tiny spot.
It'll be fine.
All right. Go back to the shop, load up the finishing machine. We're ready to pour for tomorrow. All right. Just pulling back. We're going to load up that finishing machine.
Let's see how Keith's doing.
And then I got something I got to do this afternoon.
I actually have several things to do this afternoon. Keith must be in the office.
Oh, he's already done with the cart.
>> Poo.
>> Hey, >> I was going to say you should order a terminal. Did you do that yet?
>> We should probably You should probably do that today. Yeah, >> cuz you got your credit card. You can do that.
>> Yep.
>> So, and then write down for the meeting tomorrow like all the scenarios like the couple things I mentioned this morning >> like things you're going to be confused if somebody >> we do down here.
>> Yep. That's good.
>> The play compact.
>> Yeah. Maybe >> you want to run through a gas compact cuz I think you guys use that a lot.
>> Yeah, we don't we don't have a spare. We need it like all the time. Um, for pricing, just look up like what they're charging for a compactor from United or >> Lincoln and just copy whatever they're doing.
>> Yeah, we're going to we're going to rent this and this.
>> Might as well.
>> I already have a customer, Caro.
>> We got gasoline on the form truck.
>> Regular gasolina, >> I think.
>> Okay.
>> What time you said? 600.
>> Yeah, 6.
>> I'll be here working now. I got to look out.
>> You're never going to get here that early.
>> Yes, I am.
>> I don't even think I'm going to work out in the morning. Yeah, we're going to rent that, too. We're going to rent that.
>> I'm going to need >> We're going to rent that.
>> Oh, I'm going to need that.
>> See, we already have a customer. And Caro. Hey, we already got two customers for this.
>> I'm going to need this.
>> Three customers. Oh, you want to rent this? It's 500 a day.
>> A day?
>> Yep.
>> You Hey, what about the employee disc?
Didn't know this had to be employee discount. He's getting it all set up though. Keith's going to have it ready.
>> All right. See you later. You can kind of consider this to be yours, you know?
>> So, like if you're like, "Dude, I don't like the wrenches how they are." You can change anything you want.
>> Yeah.
>> You know what I mean? Like, I don't mind that.
>> Yeah.
>> I mean, unless you're going to go totally crazy, you know what I mean?
You're like, "I just want to put a pile of wrenches in the bottom drawer. That's how I like it."
>> No.
>> So, if you want to change anything, I mean, you could clean this place. You can reorganize whatever you want. And if you don't like stuff, whatever. Just do whatever you want, you know, within reason, obviously.
>> So, >> yeah.
>> I mean, you got to kind of like take ownership of this >> cuz we're not really I know you got the idea that we're in here all the time.
We're really not.
>> You know, now concrete's going to start, we're going to like not be here very much. You know what I mean?
>> It's here and there, but the winter is way different than the summer. So, whatever you want to do, you know, keep it clean and organized and, you know, whatever you want to do, just go ahead and do it. You can consider this Keith's shop.
So, all right. I got to run home. Um, I'm coming back in like 30 minutes and I got to do a ad here, so you got to be gone.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah, I know you're not going to complain about that, but All right, that's it for today. I'll see you guys in the morning and we're going to be pouring a bunch of concrete. Adios.
