In the middle, you have cards like the MX Gold. At the top, you have cards like the MX Platinum. And above that, you have invite only cards like the Centurion card, also known as the black card. But before you climb the ladder, you need to understand one big rule. Why welcome offers matter. With MX, welcome offers matter. A welcome offer is the bonus you can earn after getting approved for a card and spending a certain amount. These bonuses can be worth hundreds of dollars and sometimes more if you use the points for travel.

The goal is learning credit. You need to understand your balance, your due date, your minimum payment, your statement date, and why you should pay your card off in full.
