We've changed this whole thing from just a concept on paper and brought it to reality. In this episode, we're going to share the journey. We're going to show you the ups, the downs. [00:00:54]When constructing and renovating a home, attention to detail at the finishing stage is what separates average work from professional quality.

[00:01:04]One of the key requirements is the correct installation of ceiling bendering. This should be set out properly at a standard height of 2.5 m above the finished floor, ensuring consistency throughout the building.

[00:01:20]Wall plastering is another critical stage.

[00:01:24]The plaster must be applied smoothly and evenly to achieve a clean surface ready for finishing. Good plastering also plays an important critical role. It allows the brick work to settle naturally over time, reducing the likelihood of cracking. A quick tip is to allow your brick work to first settle and do not rush to apply this plastering. This also helps reduce the chances of cracking. Once the plaster has been properly cured, a primer coat should be carefully applied. This acts as a base layer that seals the surface, ensures better adhesion.

[00:02:01]Skipping or rushing this step often leads to uneven paint absorption and reduce durability of the finish. In construction, every layer matters from structure to finish. When each step is done correctly, the result is durable, professional, and visually appealing too.

[00:02:48]Electrical installation must also be completed and done correctly before closing up the ceiling walls. All wiring points and fittings should be properly tested and positioned to ensure safety and functionality.

[00:03:46]Now, let's start with the ceiling installation. For this unit, we installed a clean wide PVC ceiling. PVC ceilings are a great option because they are lowmaintenance, they are moisture resistant, they are easy to clean, and they don't hold dust like traditional ceilings do.

When installing cornises, detail is very important. In fact, it is everything. The glue must be cleaned carefully at the joints and corners to achieve a very neat, professional finish.

[00:06:34]Let's show you the tiling work. We selected a light brown tile to anchor the entire space and complement the finishes that would later be installed.

[00:06:53]The same tile was used on the bathroom walls to maintain consistency throughout the space. We used white grout on the walls for a clean, modern look and gray grout on the floors to better handle traffic and dirt. These were 300x 300 mm tiles installed using 5 mm spacing for even alignment.

[00:07:16]Bonding liquid was also added to improve adhesion and speeding up the drying time.

[00:07:35]Aluminium H strips are installed on all exposed corners for protection in a premium finish. It's important to mask the strips before painting to keep them clean and shiny afterwards.

[00:08:44]Now on to the kitchen cabs. The built-in cabs were manufactured offsite and assembled during installation for a precise fit against the walls.

[00:09:55]A dedicated washing machine connection was included because tenants need convenient laundry access.

[00:11:01]We kept the kitchen window area open to maximize light coming into the space and also allow sufficient room for a future steam extractor installation above the stove.

[00:17:57]Now, let's take a look at the bathroom fittings. The bathroom measures 1.8x 1.8 m inside, which is an efficient size for a bachelor unit. Proper measurements are critical to ensure all fittings work properly within this space.

[00:18:15]We installed a corner shower, a basin, a toilet to maximize movement and functionality in the space.

[00:18:25]To optimize costs, there was no need to tile the entire bathroom. In terms of the walls, strategically, wall tiling still gives a clean, modern appearance while keeping the pro project cost effective.

[00:23:30]We always make sure that everything is functioning correctly before handing over the project. Checking that the taps are working properly, lights are operational, and the stove is functional.

[00:24:14]>> All cupboards were tested to ensure smooth opening with no resistance. We installed at least three drawers, including a dedicated pot drawer and a large grocery storage compartment for practicality.

[00:25:05]>> To maximize space even further, we integrated a compact wall closet onto the kitchen cupboard design. This combination with the PVC ceiling, built-in cabs, and tiled finishes creates a clean, welcoming environment.

[00:25:26]>> We also installed at least five strategically positioned plugs points to improve convenience for future turnings.

[00:25:47]The bathroom fittings are fully installed and operational, including the corner shower, the toilet, the basin.
