Scientists spotted it and immediately questioned everything they thought they knew about how the cosmos works. In 2013, astronomers Istvan Horvath, John Hakkila, and Zsolt Bagoly discovered the Hercules Corona Borealis Great Wall, a cosmic filament 10 billion light-years across, one structure, 10 billion light-years.
