[00:00:00]Quick question. What continent is Egypt on? If you hesitated even for half a second, that hesitation is the whole story. Egypt is in Africa. It always was. So, why does it feel strange to say it out loud? That feeling did not happen by accident. It is the result of the most successful theft in the history of education. For 200 years, the people who wrote the textbooks did something quiet and brilliant. They took the greatest civilization of the ancient world, a civilization of pyramids, of mathematics, of medicine, of writing the world still studies today, and they lifted it off the continent of Africa and filed it somewhere else. The Middle East, the cradle of Western civilization, anywhere but home. Why?

[00:00:44]Because in the 1800s, Europe was building an empire on a single idea, that Africa had no history, no great kingdoms, no science, nothing worth respecting. And then they sailed up the Nile and found the most advanced civilization the ancient world had ever produced, sitting right there in Africa.

[00:01:07]So, they solved the problem. They simply decided that Egypt was not really African, but the Egyptians never agreed with them. Look at how they painted themselves on their own walls. Brown skin, African features.

[00:01:19]The Greek historian Herodotus, who actually went there, described the people of Egypt as dark-skinned with woolly hair. And a Senegalese scholar named Cheikh Anta Diop spent his entire life proving the African roots of Egypt.

[00:01:33]The Western academy tried to bury him for it. And here is the part that should make you smile. The Greeks, the so-called fathers of Western thought, where do you think they went to learn?

[00:01:43]Pythagoras, the man behind the geometry you were taught in school, studied in Egypt. The Greeks themselves said so.

[00:01:50]Europe did not give civilization to Africa. Africa gave civilization to Europe and then spent 200 years editing us out of the credits. So, the next time you see Hollywood fill ancient Egypt with white faces or open a book that quietly calls Egypt the Middle East, remember the question I asked you at the start.
