The video highlights the fatal consequences of prioritizing cultural superstition over the immutable laws of structural engineering. It serves as a sobering reminder that urban ambition is ultimately beholden to geological reality, not human vanity.

the Millennium Tower is DOOMED to collapseAdded:
And what do we have here? The Millennium Tower. The building that's sinking and tilting here in downtown San Francisco.
If this building were to collapse, it will also knock down the cell tower just like Domino's.
And this is Fremont Street. This is the side where it's tilting.
Let's see if we can notice any tilting.
or if you notice any tilting. So, it's tilting towards this side right here.
Let's see.
>> What most people don't know is the builder went to the homeowners said, "I'll pay a few mortgages if you don't sue me." The mortgages are between 300,000 and 2.5 million.
>> We are at 301 Mission Street where we have a really tall building sinking and tilting here in downtown San Francisco, the Millennium Tower. It's been here for 17 years and still tilting. They threw $100 million to try to fix it. And there shouldn't be any issues now, but that's the way it was at first. There shouldn't be any issues, but it started sinking and tilting from day one. They really messed up the foundation on this building. Floors 13 and 44 are missing for superstitious reasons. So they executed on superstition but forgot about the real world and messed up the foundation of the building. Too bad for people that bought units back then. They lost their head on that investment. Now there's no more damage here on the sidewalk because this is where they said they fixed the problem by adding additional piles on the ground.
Yeah, this is a new sidewalk.
It's been recently reopened.
And this side too, all new sidewalk.
This is where the new piles went down.
And that next door is the smaller building that is also being affected by the sinking and tilting.
It's also affecting the prices on the mini tower, too.
It's about 50 residential units on the small one and about 400 on the big one.
Across the street we got the sales for East Equinox. Really fancy handle architects 2009.
Messed up really bad.
Here's another entrance to the tower, the Millennium Tower.
And this is the other side on Bill Street. Looks like they have a fancy restaurant here at the ground floor.
Tables are all set up in there.
Doesn't look open, but maybe it's for dinner only. Look at this new sidewalk, too. So, they must have done something on this side as well.
Or did they just replace it so that it looks the same as the other side?
That'll be a waste of money across the street. All that looks boarded up.
All boarded up across the street.
Whatever that was. Same in the corner there.
All right. So, this is a small tower.
really tiny compared to the other one.
You can tell there's a gym on that level.
You can see the treadmills from here.
Here's a view of the building. You don't see that often from Bill Street.
Now, I'm going to go around the building so you can see what it looks like on the ground level.
Look at the size of this building.
It's massive.
Got a financial center here on the corner and it's currently open.
And this is Fremont Street. This is the side where it's tilting.
Let's see if we can notice any tilting or if you notice any tilting. So, it's tilting towards this side right here.
Let's see.
Look straight to me.
Maybe when I review the video, I can tell some tilting, but I don't see anything from the sidewalk.
Across the street, we got the Salesfor tower.
Let's head across the street.
This is what used to be the Transbay Transit Terminal gone. Now we have this monstrosity just taking space and they may not be using it.
Across the street, we can see retail is retail for lease across the street.
Here's the entrance. They got those revolving doors.
Got regular doors, too.
Really fancy.
This here is the uh Salesfor transit center. Let's go in there. Let me show you how empty that is.
Just look at this place.
I don't see much around.
This looks like a restaurant.
And I see they have one table. There's one person eating in there. Oh, this is a Phil's coffee.
Not really busy. Nobody sitting out here either.
And this is what a weekday around lunchtime looks like.
It's currently 10:08 p.m.
Not busy at all.
This looks like it's a restaurant or something. Let's see.
It says hello Salesfor transit center.
I see somebody there eating.
That's open too. I see somebody there eating as well. We're averaging one table per restaurant at lunchtime.
That's too low. Perdeium Transit Center, lunch, dinner, and cocktails.
It doesn't seem very busy.
It's open right now, but everything is empty right at lunchtime.
Just look at this desolation.
I see one table in there too. Just like the other restaurants.
Only one table.
This side.
Nobody here.
That is all covered with decals.
So is that one.
It's not even for lease.
And so is this one.
The only one open is this restaurant and it's empty.
If it wasn't for that one table, it's completely empty over here.
Soup's on. They have one customer scrolling on his phone. Not really buying anything.
Place is open.
There's the Salesfor tower.
Look at that monstrosity.
R is one big building.
Wouldn't like to be anywhere around here in an earthquake.
Whether it's inside or outside, rather not, traffic is always happening despite everything being empty around here. Look at this other place right here.
All covered up with paper.
Look at the security they have at this building. Can't really go in if you don't have permission. They're doing something right out here. This is all new. All right, let's go into the uh Salesforce Transit Center.
Let's see how it's doing these days.
I see more people now.
Still empty, but at least I see a handful of people.
Let's go upstairs and take a look.
What a long escalator. You can see people walking up there.
That's the park on the roof.
What a waste.
Let's see who's commuting today.
There's a bus, an empty bus.
I see somebody way at the end down there.
And a security guard.
And way over there, I see a couple of buses and a couple of people, but that's about it.
Okay, let's keep going up.
Let's check out the park.
And this is the very top.
Level three. This is where the park is.
So, it belongs to the uh sales for public. It's a public park.
Anybody can come out here.
Lots of exotic plants.
really cool to see >> like they have live music here in the park Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
And that's what takes the buses from this station to the Bay Bridge. Look at this beauty. Monkey Passel Tree.
We're going to take the tram back to the street level.
>> Let's take this tram back to the street level.
>> Would you like a photo with the background of the city?
>> I would.
>> Looks high up here.
>> Thank you very much.
>> Sure. Just put against the back and look this direction. That's a Fremont Street.
Doors doors are closing.
>> And that is the Millennium Tower.
>> Oh, no. It's okay.
>> And it's leaning towards this side.
>> The tram is about to depart.
>> That's the Millennial Tower. Yes.
>> But is it leaning this way?
>> Leaning that way, but >> Oh, mission.
>> But it's on a solo foundation now.
>> Okay. And what most people don't know is the builder went to the homeowner said, "I'll pay off your mortgage if you don't sue me."
>> Wow.
>> The mortgages are between 300,000 and 2.5 million.
>> Wow.
>> Yeah. Wow. Indeed.
>> Is that a deal?
>> Indeed.
>> It's a deal as long as your building doesn't fall down.
>> Sorry.
>> It's a deal as long as your house doesn't fall down.
>> Exactly.
>> Well, you have a solid foundation now, so it's not an issue anymore.
>> Yeah. As long as it's not as long as your house won't fall down, it's a deal.
>> That's what they say at first.
>> Maybe if they even if it's not, if you got all your money back, you could sell it again for all the money and for a profit, you can move somewhere else.
>> Yeah. Well, a friend of mine lived and moved into a new condo in Montreal and the park collapsed while he was watching it.
>> Wow.
>> And it was like it was a year old >> only. Yeah. This one's been here for 17 years.
>> Yeah. And they they had a problem getting money on the other one, too.
>> Now, the Salesfor tower, I think it's 80% empty since everyone's working at home. I would much rather have the old Transbay Transit Terminal than this monstrosity that just sits here empty.
Do you remember the Transbay Transit Terminal?
This is where it used to be exactly right here.
Look at those gears to bring up that tram going way up there.
And like always, these places are full of food trucks.
Sam's clown shouter from Pacifica.
And here is the Millennium Tower.
And it's leaning right towards this side on Fremont Street.
a bit concerning.
I remember a few years back, see those open windows?
They used to fall right on the sidewalk.
Residents were fined $10,000 for leaving their windows open.
Can you imagine paying the prices they pay here for these condos?
half a million, a million dollars and you can't even leave your window open or they'll find you $10,000.
And how do they know if you're home or not? Are they going to knock on your door and say, "Excuse me, sir. Are you home?"
That can sure bother somebody.
Looks like we work still around.
>> I thought they were gone.
>> All right, let's head across the street.
I can see retail there right on that corner for leaves. That used to be a restaurant and now it's been all remodeled. Used to be all boarded up.
Look at that. Looks way better.
Let's go take a closer look at the old Portico restaurant.
Now it's for lease.
And this looks a lot cleaner than last time I was here. Really cool.
It's a large space and it's all empty in there.
But if you get hungry, El Faro is waiting for you. Authentic Mexican food.
Doesn't look very busy.
I'm surprised about that. It's open, but doesn't look busy at all. Across the street, we have the Salesfor West. I see a few people there having lunch over here. Looks like this is retail for lease.
Juice store is open and the Walgreens is open.
Bar is open. Nobody there yet. Too early.
I see a lot of people talking about these places online, >> but I don't see a lot of videos here on their streets.
Now, these are the real San Francisco streets.
No AI, Opel, Walgreens, a lot of security, everything locked up. Balis is open.
Flower shop is open.
Cool to see that.
Right in front of the cell for tower.
Over here we have some retail for lease.
The only one on this block.
What do we have here? I think this is more retail.
Just nothing going on.
No signage, nothing.
It's part of the cell floor west.
Another cool viewpoint from the Millennium Tower right on Freemont.
So if he falls, he's going to take down the Salesforce tower and the Salesfor tower is going to take out the next building and so on.
What a nightmare. I hope that never happens at any level.
All right, let's go across the street. I think this is part of Salesfor 2, man.
They own everything.
Look at that big screen they got in there.
Looks like we have another restaurant here in the corner.
Another fancy one.
Not much going on. I see one table there.
We're back on Beetle Street.
That's Market Street on that side and Howard on the other side.
Now, across the street from the Millennium, we got this building and everything here looks up. Says for renovation there, >> no retail here.
>> At least Oh, my job.
>> This is 2011 Mission.
This is what used to be a Starbucks.
It looks like it's just a plant store.
And on this corner here, this all used to be retail on the ground level.
There's nothing left. Everything is closed.
Let's take a look.
Here's one of those self-driving cars.
Nobody driving. They're larger size.
Now, >> let's look in here.
Everything's white out.
No more retail.
I don't even see any signage.
This is just the entrance to the building, but all the retail is gone.
Here's another one.
Now, I'm going to step on the sidewalk to see if there's any signage out there.
There's nothing in here.
I don't know if this is the same one, but there's another door.
Really cool and clean park.
And that's the old Walgreens.
They're doing some construction in there finally.
Yeah, there's no for lease signs.
There used to be for lease signs out here.
Not anymore.
All right, since we came from this way on Mission Street, I'm going to head over to Howard. See what we can find over there. I have to say that at least this area is a lot cleaner now. It doesn't stink as much, and I'm glad and happy to see that.
Now, that's one way to get free water.
He's not getting free water. Here's more vacant retail. This one here and that one there.
Here's another one.
Let's see what we have here.
Howard Street.
It was a restaurant.
It's empty now.
That must have been a sign there. It's been removed. Says Town Hall up there.
Let's see.
So, that was the name of the restaurant.
Town Hall. Since 2003, gone. Now, that's sad to see.
prime location right here in the corner next to that big park here on Fremont.
Let's keep going.
It's another one of those robo taxis.
There's a lot of things that don't look good around here, but I think this culture here is pretty cool.
That fast food place there in the corner is open.
Few tables here.
Looks like another food truck there in the corner.
A lot of food trucks.
Uh-oh.
Let me know in the comments what you think. Do you think the issue has been addressed by throwing $100 million? Or do you think it's just a band-aid, just another way of throwing money at the issue and hope for the best?
