Snowflake Will Lose His EyeHinzugefügt:
Hi, we're having an emergency.
Snowflake.
One of the most difficult cat cases that we've ever had. A cat that has gone from death to being completely recovered, now fights to retain the only one eye that he has left. Yesterday, Sergio had to travel to go to his house and pick him up. Have a look at this. Snowflake is back at the hospital and he needs us.
>> Oh my goodness. Snowflake, >> I think the light is bothering him a bit.
>> Snowflake, how are you?
>> He's so gentle. He hasn't complained at all.
>> He's absolutely lovely. Hopefully, they can see him today because this is quite urgent. Poor thing.
>> We'll keep you updated. See you later.
>> Let's see if we can get you back on your feet for goodness sake.
We're arriving at Valencia, sir, where Marbel is waiting for us.
>> The situation is very urgent.
>> Marbel, how are you? Have you been waiting long?
>> No.
>> The traffic was awful. On the last stretch, the poor thing started complaining.
>> Did he meow?
>> Just as we were arriving, yes.
>> When he meows, it means he's in pain because we never heard him until the day something first went wrong.
He just can't catch a break. Poor thing.
>> It looks like he can't see. Maybe just a bit of light perception.
>> Scary.
>> Yes. You can see there's something wrong with his pupil.
>> Do you remember what they told us? There was a very, very small area left, but with an extremely thin layer. And there was a chance this could happen that it might perforate right there. Ah, it's so frustrating.
Explain to me the reason for the emergency visit.
He had a perforation in his eye. They did a coral transplant once. It failed.
They did another one. It worked, but it wasn't healing as well as it should. He has a very weak immune system. They had seen something coming out that looked like a sort of jelly.
>> What really scared the adopter was how she described it as if you'd put ointment in his eye, which she hadn't, and it sort of oozed out.
>> I'm going to have a look and then I'll explain everything.
We don't know what that is.
>> Is it the graft?
>> That's exactly what I asked. I don't know if it's mucus or if it's a sequester that's just come off. I really don't know.
>> It came from inside.
>> Yes, completely. It was inside the conjunctiva.
Do you think it's perforated?
>> I suspect it might be because the anterior chamber is shallower. The front part of the eye is narrower than usual, but we'll confirm that once we stain it.
I'll check the thickness now. I can clearly see it's reduced, but it's one thing to have reduced thickness because of his history and another to have a new perforation point.
We'll take a sample from this area and stain it.
What are you doing?
I don't think he can see, right?
>> It doesn't look like it. Maybe he can perceive some light.
>> He doesn't seem to see >> you've put on even more weight, I think.
Even more, >> I think so.
>> Oh my goodness.
>> I don't know. He looks larger to me.
>> Where do you think you're going? Come here. You can't leave.
>> I think this came off. His cornea has extruded it.
>> Extrusion.
He's so gentle.
>> He lets you do anything.
>> What's happening with Snowflake?
>> We're here in Valencia because Snowflake has a lesion. It's a coral lesion that's been under treatment.
>> He's already had previous procedures, but now it's become complicated. He's developed a desime, which is a complex ulcer that's on the verge of perforating the eye.
>> It's unbelievable. It's the second one.
He's already had two surgeries. And now, >> what happens if he isn't operated on?
Will he go blind?
>> Well, if he isn't operated on right now, the eye is about to perforate and he'll lose it. So we either remove the eye or try to save it. To save it requires delicate surgery by the opthromology team and they'll probably need to place a corial graft which is what's usually done.
>> This is unbelievable. This cat has been through so much.
He was in terrible shape when we rescued him. We managed to get him back on his feet and now two eye surgeries and this second one has failed. Unbelievable truly. So that's the situation. Copita needs to go into surgery. He's now at the hospital in Valentasur. This is going to be the third surgery and basically this decision is either we go to surgery or he goes blind. And this is uh this is the situation right now.
Unbelievable. He's gone through so much.
I'm going to fix this. Please help us do this. We're counting on you. Thank you.
If you can donate, help us try to save his eye. Thank you.
