Corporate legal departments in media organizations often prioritize risk avoidance over content freedom, leading to decisions that may appear counterintuitive to audiences but are actually driven by legitimate legal concerns rather than strategic manipulation.

The Real Reason No Show for AidanAdded:
I I admit I do not know Tim Pool, never watched his stuff. I understand it's primarily uh political, which is great. I am a-political. I am the sole member of the reasonable-ist party. So, if you ever want to join, let me know. But, if any politician on the left side, the right side, the middle of the aisle does anything that ever helps me, my family, my friends, it is by total accident. So, I'm as a-political as it can get. So, I probably would not stumble upon his work. But, obviously very popular, has a lot of followers. Uh and he, the only nugget from him that I've seen or heard is I went on just to see his reference to not putting Aiden Kearney on his show. So, I get it.
There's some some sarcasm there. Big fan of that. Some snark. Good for him.
But, there's also an issue that I think is totally legit uh in more traditional media. Uh we'll get to the letter in plenty of time here. But, this is I think is so important because it leads me to the belief that yes, I think Mr. Pool did a great job of hyping the refusal to put Aiden Kearney on the air, or Aiden Kerny as he called him.
Um yes, you know, he he helped stir the pot. And obviously, uh as people are calling it the Streisand effect, it's like, "Whoa, you know, made it a bigger story than it might be." But, if you think that that it is it is not a legitimate corporate legal concern to squash stuff like this.
And that I believe Tim Pool Pool followed that because that's what he pays these people for. I've come through many organizations where corporate counsel, better known to me as the weasels, uh will squash what you think is an amazing idea. Why? Because they are risk-averse. They walk out of a the law school, it's a personality thing.
These are not uh trial attorneys. These are transactional guys. Very important.
And their job is to assess risk and advise you accordingly. They don't like risk. They They it. If there's a chance that you could lose a couple of bucks, then their job they feel is to say don't do it. Don't do it. And if they felt that this letter from uh from the uh I haven't I haven't really mentioned.
I forgot.
>> [crying] >> Okay, if if a letter from the crybabies uh seemed to be a significant or really any risk to the corporate weasels, uh then they say please don't do it. Don't do it or or it's going to be on you. And this Tim Pool company is a corporation, right? So, he does have some liab- some some shelter from liability, a little bit. But when you're really you are the corporation, it's a harder to get that kind of protection just because you put INC after your your name. So, I believe he caved to the people he pays to tell him, "Hey, this is risky."
And that's what they do. That's their default position. Don't do it. And then you have to fight like hell if you're an employee or a host or some creator, and you want to do something that they feel might be a little iffy. So, I think his refusal to put Aiden Carreon was legit.
I don't think that was part of the game.
I don't think that was part of the let's just pump this up, make a big deal out of it. I may be wrong, but I'm just looking at it from the outside, but knowing what goes on on the inside from the legal perspective, from the corporate counsel perspective. And if you aren't following your corporate counsel, the person you pay to give you this high advice, well, that person probably ain't going to stick around long.
Why would they want you as a client? Uh because if they're right and you're wrong just once, uh it's going to be costly. So, hopefully, and I know this is what Aiden wants. I sent him a note last night and I said uh let me make sure I I quote myself. How stupid are these people? Enjoy. And this morning he wrote back, "What a crazy 24 hours." Now, remember, this is from Aiden Carreon. If this guy knows crazy, uh he knows crazy and he thinks the last 24 hours was crazy. I think it's going to get even more even more interesting. Okay, so I'm also a little offended as is as is Linda Kenney Baden because we've had 8 non many times that he's been on many shows.
Never got the letter. How about it? We never got the letter. Oh, so embarrassing. And the funny thing is if you add up all of the times he's appeared on all these various outlets that are not huge like Mr. Poole apparently is.
Um the the reach is probably greater.
I bet I bet you it's it's especially greater in the context of the reason this law firm tried to squash and really did squash Aiden Kearney's voice. I mean, anybody that's been covering this for the last couple of years, that's the audience most affected. And yet they felt like, "Oh, well, we don't need to send out these letters." I have an argument that uh everything's an argument. Uh that in in effect, whatever analysis they made in this letter, they have this letter and the arguments they made, they basically have waived because they didn't complain about any other appearances that he's made since they got involved in the case.
I don't know. It's an argument. Um anyway, so I think we should just get into it cuz there's so much I've thought about this and I really decided to come on and do this because I might as well.
I was going to I I was going to just sit in a room. I'm I'm batching it this weekend. I was going to sit in a room and just basically go off on myself about it. Well, why not just turn on the camera and and share, right? Everybody's been talking so much about it. I figured, "Well, why not? Why not?" Okay, so see if there's any other notes I had before I get into the document itself.
So, I did have a couple. Had a couple.
Yeah, I got that. I got that.
Oh, and wait a minute. Hold Hold on.
Wait a minute. This just handed me >> All right, I've just been given and I haven't looked at this yet, so I can't tell exactly what it is, but it's a piece of video that apparently shows a representative or an agent of the Crybabies um accosting Aiden Kearney. That That's That's what I've been told, so let's see what we have here.
Mhm.
I see.
I see. Oh, there What is Wait, there's more.
Look at that. That is outrageous. If I had not seen it with my own eyes, I would not have a believed that, boy.
So, there you have it. Uh and I apologize to uh to Domino back there for uh suggesting he is an agent or representative of the Crybabies. Anyway, so, okay, let's get to the letter here.
Enough of that Enough of that fooling around.
In case you couldn't tell or you're listening, that was um the agent or representative of the Crybabies in the form of Domino um pestering a turtle.
And as you could tell, just like with Aiden Kearney, soon as the pestering stops, he just goes on goes on his own way. No big deal. Not missing a thing.
Okay, so, shall we begin? See if I've got any other notes here that I missed.
Uh yeah, and and uh thanks to um uh to uh um Where is it I wrote that note that I wrote down here? Our buddy uh from Kentucky, and I hope you're feeling well. I hope uh an organ comes your way soon.
Um because I know you're on the list there in Kentucky, and hopefully that will happen for you. Made a couple of great points. There's some ethics issues we talked about. Ethics issues um are bad. You shouldn't have any problems through the ethics issues the for the things that you do as entering.
Quite often it's a hand slap at best. I don't see any of this the writing of this letter as a disbarment type material. I do find it interesting and uh the thought of this creating some sort of witness issue for the attorney writing it the two attorneys actually Matay and Tuxbury.
Maybe could be interesting. Could be something.
But I have a very interesting angle too that I think should be talked about.
And it is in the context of the defamation.
Which is what this case is all about and now what you know arguably there've been definite defamatory statements made in this letter about Aiden Kearney.
All of these conversations act as if the defamation case is over. Like hey the cry babies have won and now we're telling you in the context of this interview don't repeat the things that we we won in court on. Well they haven't won anything. They're nothing. Their statements are no better or worse than Aiden Kearney's. You know truth will bear out what's going on. The only truth we have based on two juries is that Kearney didn't do it. Okay. So all of these these finger pointing accusations in this letter suggest we won the defamation case against Aiden Kearney and Kearney. We won. Therefore you cannot say any of these things. That's just wrong. It's just it's just plain wrong. But
