[00:00:02]In 2024, the Pain Medicine Coalition was created to advocate for best practices in pain medicine, fair payment, and access to evidence-based care.

[00:00:13]The PMC includes ASA, ASRA Pain Medicine, the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

[00:00:25]Recently, the PMC sent formal communication to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts seeking fair coverage for fascial plane blocks, and is actively fighting against CMS's removal of coverage for peripheral nerve blocks.

[00:00:40]The PMC is also prioritizing advocacy around the concerning effects of prior authorization in pain medicine, including the WI Medicare pre-authorization model.
