[00:01:01]>> I'm an actor and I live in New York City and I've sort of always been in performance. I started off as a dancer.

[00:01:09]I love my friends. I love hanging out with my friends. I love cooking.

[00:01:12]>> Where did you grow up?

[00:01:13]>> So, I grew up in California and I moved to India when I was like 10 to pursue acting. So, I started off in the Indian film industry and then I moved to LA from India. I stayed there for 5 years working and then I moved to New York when I was like 18.

[00:01:31]>> So what's your next big role?

[00:01:34]>> I'm leading Mindy Kaling's new show alongside four incredible actors and our show takes place in New York which I'm very excited about. We are about to have our first season um on June 2nd and so I'm very excited.

[00:01:50]>> My understanding is you brought something for show and tell. I did. Um, okay. These are photo booth strips of me with my castmates from my new show called Not Suitable for Work. But I just felt like we're recently acquainted friends. And so now you should meet my other friends.

[00:02:11]>> But that's from our rap party.

[00:02:12]>> Oh, how ne how nice. That's great.

[00:02:14]>> So they have the machine right there for you guys to go in like right there.

[00:02:23]>> I'm sure it's going to be great. So, what are some projects you've been in previously?

[00:02:27]>> Don't know if you've watched the Mean Girls musical. I >> think I've seen little clips of that.

[00:02:31]>> It's a great musical and they made the musical a movie and I played Karen in the in the movie version of it. Um, and so I kind of got to play like a fun bimbo like girl, which was really awesome.

[00:02:45]>> So, you're a singer then, too?

[00:02:47]>> I, you know, I can hold a tune. I'd like to do more singing. I just I think I'm around so many talented singers that I like feel I have kind of an inferiority complex that I'm like I don't think I should step into this world formally.

[00:04:06]Don't talk about my friend's work like that. John made that for me and I really like it. I've changed my mind.

[00:04:36]>> The standard.

[00:04:37]>> Oh, no.

[00:04:40]>> Crinkle.

[00:04:40]>> Crinkle. All right. I think that's good choice. Would you rather wear wet socks or sandy socks for the rest of your life?

[00:04:48]>> For the rest of my life. Is there an option of no socks? Maybe sandy.

[00:04:53]>> Okay.

[00:04:54]>> Like I think it would work as an exfoliant.

[00:04:57]I think the bottom of my legs would be really soft.

[00:04:59]>> I love that. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

[00:05:05]>> Do I have to take into account health and calories and whatnot?

[00:05:07]>> No. Anything. If I'm exempt from all of those metrics, I think I would pick literally cookies.

[00:05:14]>> Favorite memory as a child?

[00:05:16]>> After school, I my my mom and I ran a very tight ship with my schedule in terms of extracurriculars when I was younger, but on occasion after gymnastics or whatever, my mom would take me to In-N-Out and we'd get a strawberry milkshake and fries. And so I remember like sitting in the back of our bed van and drinking our milkshakes. Um, my dad just sent me a screenshot of my he he's kind of cleaning out our old house and he sent me a picture of what my old schedule used to be. I allocated 13 minutes for playtime in the night.

[00:05:48]Crazy. I was like, "This is insane." 7 minutes for brushing my teeth. I was so type A when I was younger. Um, and and that schedule was really it it looked like it looked like I was in the military. It was crazy.

[00:06:01]>> But you thrived in that atmosphere.

[00:06:02]>> I don't know. It's hard for me to because I'm judging that schedule from my a vantage point now, right? And I don't think I would be thriving in that schedule now, which is why it's not what I impose on myself.

[00:06:15]>> And it's harder for me to sit here and be like, that wasn't what was right for me then, because I feel like I turned out fine. My whole goal when I was a kid was I want to figure out what I love by the time I'm 13.

[00:06:29]>> FMK. Pizza, ice cream, chocolate. Woo!

[00:06:53]>> I hate open concept. I hate an open concept floor plan. I love going to open houses and I hate when the like price tag is $5 million and it's an open concept floor plan. I think it's ridiculous. I think it's modernday panopticon. I think it's crazy.

[00:07:06]>> When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

[00:07:09]>> I wanted to be a hair stylist. I loved doing hair. I love I did hair for kids at my school. I had 73 Barbie dolls.

[00:07:19]I had so many Barbies.

[00:07:21]>> 73.

[00:07:22]>> Yeah. And I would go over to my friends homes and repair their Barbie dolls because they would have like pulled out the dolls's hair and like scrubbed them with a marker. Like I was very into hair and anything related to that. Um, so I always thought I was going to be a hair stylist. I guess there's still time.

[00:07:38]>> Sure. But you're a little busy right now though. Exactly. Right. If you had the opportunity to go to space, would you?

[00:07:46]>> No, I'm not interested.

[00:08:15]>> Growing pains. I feel like my 20s are sort of going to be growing pains. I feel like the chapter should sort of describe my emotional state of being.

[00:08:24]And like granted, growing pains were definitely more of a physical thing when I was younger, >> but I think my early teens and like most of my teens were so much about like >> I really felt like I was crawling out of a hole for most of my like early teens.

[00:08:40]I was like I I was so consumed by like trying to even open my eyes to everything that I like didn't even have any time to really develop who I was and and the things that I liked. And I'd say I've started on that journey since like 19 maybe where I've really like had the time to fully fledge out who I am and like the things that I like sort of independent of what other people feel and there are growing pains associated with that but I am growing you know >> right. Yeah. No, I love that description of your teens. Yeah, I think that's that's great cuz it's a discovery, but it's also a time where you feel a little lost at times and everything, but So, you think you've already been through some growing pains?

[00:09:20]>> I I feel like I've just started.

[00:09:22]>> I think I've got more. I think I've got a lot more.

[00:09:24]>> So, last question.

[00:09:58]>> I got a cookie in my hand. I can't do it.
