Fertility Update | IVF Round 8 | Exciting News
Added:I'm flying to New York by myself to get a procedure done under IV sedation and then flying back to Houston. Bye-bye, Na.
Hello. Thank you so much. I'm in an Uber on my way. Before we talk about what the procedure is and why I'm going by myself, I'll show you all my snacks.
Okay, so I went to the little grocery store here at the airport and grabbed a few things. So, pickles. I wouldn't even say that this is a snack. This is zero calories. This is what I would call board hungry when I'm not actually hungry. I just want to little nibble on something. Feeling a little peckish.
This is what I would go for. Also, gum.
That's kind of like my little sneaky thing. So, if you're not actually hungry and you just want something in your mouth, sorry. And these are kind of like my go-to things. Beef jerky. I always look for just cleaner options of beef jerky. This has zero sugar, a little cleaner option. So, this will be great.
Protein shake. Core Power is like kind of my go-to at the airports and gas stations if they don't have the raw ones. And then I did not bring my more nutrition bars. I am basically out at this point. I'm like, no. Waiting for my shipment. So, I grabbed this. I mean, the Bearbells are pretty good, but now that I've been eating my more bars, I'm like, not trying to talk [ __ ] but like more bars are a lot better. And then I have the boiled eggs. This could be a very divided comment [music] section. Do y'all ever eat the boiled eggs at gas stations and airports? I am a big fan. I try not to eat these on the actual plane because I don't want to come off as rude or anything cuz obviously they can kind of be smelly. But I usually just sprinkle a little salt on them, eat them, and there you go. Also, some other things would be like apples, bananas, oranges. Big fans of those. If you can have all those fruits, those are whole natural foods that are usually grab and go at the airport. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Good. Thank you so much, Heidi. Made it to New York. Now, an hour drive to Connecticut.
All right, friends. I made it to my hotel room, small little town in Connecticut, and let's chat about what I'm doing here. Okay, let's get cozy.
Chris and I have completed seven rounds of IVF. We Our last one was in February, and we've been trying to do round eight of IVF. We actually did start it, but had to stop because basically I have a cyst that's in the way. So, over the last couple months, I've had nothing but a cyst and no eggs. Every once in a while, I would get an egg, but then like the cyst would basically take all the nutrients, then we have no egg. So, the only way around this is to train the cyst. The cyst is not that big. I think it's like 26 mm or something like that.
So, I try to find a place in Houston to do it, but a lot of the fertility clinics were like, "You have to be a patient of ours to do that." I was like, "Okay." Then I found another doctor and he was nervous about the procedure. He's like, "Usually it's fertility clinics that do that, not other doctors." I was like, "All right, I'm just going to go to Connecticut, get it done by my doctor and his team, and then fly back." A few days ago, I got the soonest appointment I could. I was like, "I am just trying to have a freaking baby, okay?" It's like, I'm going to take the first appointment I can. That is tomorrow morning. That same day, we had a meeting scheduled with Walmart for 3D, which is huge. So Christian, of course, being the amazing man he is, he was like, "Oh, I just I'm not going to go meet with Walmart. I'm just going to go to Connecticut with you." I was like, "The hell you are, brother. Get your ass to Florida. Get in that meeting. Get us in Walmart. I'll be good." So that is why I am alone here in Connecticut. He is in Florida doing his big big business meetings. I'm so excited for him and for us and for 3D.
It's this has been a journey.
Christian's been here for every single like appointment, every single thing.
Could I have brought someone? Yes. But to be honest, I'm like I'm an independent woman that kind of need a man, but like I can go do this by myself. I've also traveled by myself to other places before in the past, so it's not new to me. Procedure is really small. Literally, like whenever I've came here to do a retrieval, like I'll wake up and I'm like out shopping, out going out to eat and stuff. So, I'll be good. I can do it. I'm also a little food drunk because as soon as I got off the airplane, I was like, "Oh [ __ ] I can't eat after midnight." So, I went and had a fat cheeseburger. I should have vlogged it. I didn't. I like finger licking clean. Did not have the patience to get my camera out. I ate that thing so quick. So, if you ever have a surgery the next day, having a burger as your last meal, it's the best. Okay, I'm going to get ready for bed. So, that's the update, y'all. That's what we doing.
I have a confession. I recently went to Chat GBT and said, "Hey, build me a skincare regimen. This is all my issues.
These are my struggles and I bought everything that Chat GBT told me to get." It's only been a few days in. So far so good. I can't tell you if everything is like working. Obviously, it's a few days in. When influencers say that, if they're like, "Oh, I've been using this new skincare for like 3 days and it's the best." I'm like, "You're a liar. It usually takes a while to see a difference, but in the past I use Sarah Vee products and I still actually do.
So, I just use the cleanser and honestly they worked really good for me. This is not sponsored. A dermatologist suggested this. It worked really good for me until I started doing IVF and all that. And since then, obviously with hormone therapy, there's not much you can do.
Just my skin will get very red easily, dry, inflamed at times. So, I'll have like little breakouts here and there and then obviously like I'm in my 30s, so I got some, you know, I got some crepiness here and there. So, just do whatever whatever I can. Okay, so I'm going to show you everything I got. So, if there's any dermatologists or estheticians in here watching, you can tell me how good Chuck GBT did. I also put the skin care regimen in my phone so I don't forget. Here, I can show you guys that. That is what I'm kind of doing. Obviously, the retinol, not really doing retinols right now. Well, technically right now I can. When I start IVF, at least a week before I have to stop. I just did the cleanser. I just used Sarah Ve and then using the serum.
It's 10:15. I should probably be sleeping, but instead I'm scrolling on TikTok. but not doom scrolling. Okay, I do this every night. I think I've talked about this in a vlog before. I can't remember, but I go on Tik Tok at night.
I search Buff Bunny Collection and then I click latest so I can see, repost, comment, like on all the new creators content. And we're getting so much content, y'all. It is like 25 to 50 pieces of content per day of women all over the US looking fire, looking hot in their Buff Money collection. Okay. It's just really cool to see and it's the best thing to do right before I go to sleep cuz I'm just like I love seeing all these beautiful, amazing, strong women in Buff Bunny collection. Okay, I'm going to go to bed. See you tomorrow.
[music] Okay, today is the day, y'all. Nervous, but we got this. I am about to head out the door. I was going to show you myself getting ready and all that, but I was like kind of frazzled this morning.
Dressed, set. She's ready to get this cyst blasted. I did put on some Num Master. So, if you see that on my hands today, my elbow, that is because I still very much have a needle phobia. I've made big strides. This is basically my best friend though during the whole journey. Wherever the IV is going to go, I do both hands just in case they choose a different hand. And then I'll do like an inner arm in case they go in through there. We are dressed, we're numbed, we're hungry, we're uncaffeinated. Let's go drain this freaking cyst.
One more place. Okay.
Confused.
Ready. I did it.
Chill, eat some cookies, drink some water.
We did it, y'all. So relieved. Got the drain cyst. Not only that, but after we did the draining of the cyst, they were like, "Can we do blood work?" I was like, [laughter] "Yeah, it's fine." So, I feel invincible right now. I think I'm going to go shopping. And they said I might [clears throat] be able to start IVF today or tomorrow because we got three aches. two to three. They're like one might be an egg, but like for sure two. So, like, we're winning, y'all. I am freaking pumped. I'm going to go back to the hotel, probably take a fat nap, chill, and then maybe go out on the town. You know, yolo.
Update. I did not, in fact, feel invincible when I got back to my hotel room and I took a nap. I have been sleeping for for a couple hours. I got some Chipotle and then I just got the best news. Right now I have three eggs and they're all around the same size which for me is a little bit rare. I mean I'm not going to get my hopes up.
We're going to cross our fingers. We're going to pray. Usually I'll have like one dominant egg and then the other ones are a little smaller but they were like oh my god you have three eggs. They're all 6 mm. You're starting IVF today. So I'm going to jump in an Uber and go get my climid. So, we are starting round eight right now. I'm going to celebrate.
I'm going to go buy myself a present.
Hell yeah. Let's go. Okay, update. It's 7:30. Just took my Clomid and I'm celebrating starting IVF cycle 8 with some Cinnabon.
It's like got to feed the eggs, you know? Got to feed the eggs. Look at that. Look at that.
Wow. You see that?
That's so freaking good. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm.
Okay, it's now been a few days. It is Sunday and I had the procedure done on Thursday, so it's been took some days off of filming just because I was definitely recovering.
Looking back at the footage, I was like, remember when I thought I was so invincible and I was going to go shopping? Yeah, [ __ ] right. No, I stayed at the hotel, recovered, chilled.
I didn't know that. This might be like TMI, but like it's all girls on this channel, so I don't care. I didn't realize that after getting the cyst drained, I would get like a really heavy period after. So, that was fun. That was a whole situation. That was a struggle.
[laughter] Then I came to the house, just recovered, relaxed. Um, yesterday I went to our cousin's baby shower. Whole situation with granny panties, but I wore a really cute dress. I'll pop it up here. This was perfect cuz I could breathe and be just let everything out.
granny panties and all. So love that.
And then now it's Sunday and I'm feeling better. Um I can't take ibuprofen or leave or certain things that I usually take for inflammation just because of procedure. So I've been taking Tylenol and it's been helping a little bit.
Definitely not all of it. Still kind of recovering. I would say I have like one to two more days before I probably feel back to myself. Obviously like not working out or anything like that. And I'm doing IVF which is exciting. So I'm actually going to go on a walk. I'm going to bring Scarlet with me just to get some blood flowing. So, let's go find her. Scarlet. Scarlet.
Actually, I think I'm going to take Bruce. What's up, Br? How you feeling?
Want to say hi to the peoples? They haven't seen you in a bit. Bruce is doing fantastic.
You know, he's only pissed off the other cats and Nala a few times, but it could be worse. Um, they definitely haven't accepted him yet, but they do not.
Want to go? See, I'm all ready for my walk.
It's very smooth. Look at this smooth operative. Yeah. I will say that I really need to have a human child soon.
Otherwise, I'm just going to keep being a crazy cat lady. I have three cats now and a dog. And I'm like, could I get more cats? I say no. And I draw the line, but at the same time, I'm like, look how freaking cute.
Uh, sorry for the weird angle, but y'all are in my plant right now because that is my tripod. Got my Stanley cup.
Got the water bottle. Took Tylenol. Got the baby. Let's do it.
Nala can only go on so many walks per day because her back hips are very, very stiff. So, sometimes she just goes to the end of the driveway and comes back.
So that is why she is not partaking in this walk right now. What you think? You feeling trapped? Okay.
You see him?
>> How's he doing?
>> Crying a lot.
>> He's crying.
>> He's crying a lot.
>> Hey, buddy.
>> We found daddy.
>> How's the run?
>> It's good.
>> Yeah.
>> Your mouse.
>> Fun. Or you want to like jump out?
Come on.
>> Yeah. I love my walk so much.
>> Hi.
>> Hi.
>> Hi.
[laughter] >> Look at Oh my gosh.
>> Who's this babe? This is >> I mean we're all obviously >> our cousin, right? [laughter] >> I'm cast aside. This is Christian's new favorite.
>> I am.
>> I'm uncle. Huh?
>> Are you No, you're cousin.
>> I'm not uncle. Sorry.
>> You can be >> not there yet. You can be >> I would happily be >> Christian.
[laughter] I was like, "Hey girl, >> hi."
Weird.
>> You did the same thing. [laughter] >> Hi. Ready?
[laughter] >> All right. Update. We are chilling.
Family's gone home. We're about to watch a movie. Christian has never seen Homewardbound. Are you sure, babe? It's It's literally I watched I started it last night. 7 minutes in. Tears coming down. So, I turned it off. This is an iconic movie. How have you never seen this? I guess you were born the same year it came out. So, we're going to watch it. Ready? In three, two, one.
>> What do you think so far?
>> There's no way the cat died, babe.
>> There's no way. No, she's just somewhere else.
>> Where is she?
>> We're going to find her.
>> Shouldn't have made her come.
>> It's not your fault.
>> 10 out of 10 movie. Turns out I have seen that cuz I remember the spikes, the porcupine things.
>> Yeah, >> I remember that. So, I've definitely seen it, but >> hadn't seen in a long time. Teared up at the end.
>> What do you rate it? One out of 10.
>> We need a golden retriever.
>> Yeah, we have to get Can we call him Shadow?
>> Yeah. Yeah, right.
>> Yeah.
>> 10 out of 10 movie.
>> Yeah. 10.
>> It's Sunday night and I'm about to cook some dinner. Also do some meal prepping.
And I wanted to explain why cuz I bet you're like, Heidi, what are you meal prepping for? You're on IVF. You're crazy. So, it's not for weight loss.
It's not to get shredded. It's not to get lean or anything like that. I am simply meal prepping so that this week and honestly the next 10 days I have as much whole natural foods, nutritious meals, micronutrientfilled foods in my fridge that are always ready to go because during IVF I have crazy sugar cravings and I definitely partake. Don't think that I don't. I'm going to be ordering kumble and I'm going to be ordering cinnabon and I'm probably going to be partaking in a bunch of other little snacks. But the next 10 days are crucial that my body has the fuel that it needs to succeed in growing the follicles. So, keeping my protein high, as much healthy, nutritious food as possible, that is the goal. So, that is what I'm meal prepping. Not going to be weighing anything out. Not going to be tracking anything besides my protein. going to be eating intuitively, making sure my protein is high, and making sure that my body is fueled the best that it can be while partaking and a lot of other treats. Also, I'm going to be working out this IVF cycle if my body allows.
Really listening to it. My doctor said that I can work out. I can do body weight only, no core, craziness, dumbbell only workout. So, Brad poop, it's perfect. I'm obviously going to like alter some of the movements, but I'm doing it because I can. I'm moving my body not to get lean and shredded, but right now I'm moving my body to help with blood flow, to help with mental and physical health. And that is a goal right now. So, I wanted to share that as you see in the next few videos what I'll be doing. Yeah. With that, let's make dinner. All right. We are making dinner.
I got some seasonings that I'm putting together. I'm making fajitas. I'm going to do my best to make these. Put together a little seasoning mix that I found on Chat GBT. Adding some oil. Pray for me that this comes out good.
Bring to the party. [music] To the to the [music] Body free.
Remember when I said I felt invincible?
That is a freaking joke because we are now one week into IVF cycle number eight. And this cycle kicked my ass, y'all. Like, not just the cycle itself, but because I had a cold flu at the same time. So, you're already miserable when you do IVF, but put a cold flu on top of that and just not okay. But, I'm feeling the best today that I have. We're 2 days out from an egg retrieval. So, I'll update you guys more in the next video because I'm going to take you guys with me to New York to do the retrieval, but everything's looking good. So, I'm going to end the video here cuz a lot happened in this video. So, thank you for hanging out and thank you for being here for this move series. It's been really fun.
And I know the move series is all about like moving your body and moving your mind and hitting milestones and goals and things like that. And sometimes hitting your goals doesn't always require moving your body, moving your mind. Sometimes rest is the key. And that has been me the last week. I have not worked out. I've canceled a lot of meetings cuz I was like, you know what?
I'm sick and I nope. I basically declined everything. And sometimes you need that. You know, family first. Get your goals in order. I am going to go take a nap. So, thank you guys for watching. Don't forget to give the video a thumbs up. Make sure you're subscribed and comment below your favorite part of the video because just like all the videos we're doing, we're choosing two of you to win prizes. One of you is going to be winning a $250 gift card to Buff Bunny Collection and one of you will be winning an annual membership to Ground. So, if you're already a member, you can gift it to a friend or loved one. And with that, I'll see you in the next episode. I'll see you in New York.
Bye.
