This short film illustrates anticipatory grief, a condition where individuals experience intense anxiety and emotional distress when facing a loved one's serious illness, often misdiagnosed as simple anxiety. The story shows how excessive worry can strain relationships, cause partners to feel overwhelmed, and potentially lead to harmful behaviors if left untreated. The film emphasizes the importance of recognizing mental health challenges, seeking professional help, and supporting loved ones through difficult times, highlighting that mental health issues require understanding and compassion rather than judgment.

Added:I turned 18 and now I'm unfortunately work very hard now in this summer. Yes.
And uh >> and and I'm work here near uh behind your house. So >> really like there is a cafe in your Oh my god. I haven't seen you.
>> Well, you can see me. So, >> okay. And >> so actually I had a new boyfriend and >> you had a boyfriend?
>> Yes. [clears throat] Then why didn't you tell me?
>> Oh, we all we just dating one months ago. So, but uh he broke up with me because of my new hairstyle. And uh >> what's wrong for this guy? I mean like you have a great hairstyle and >> Yes and no. But he's a jerk so that's why I broke up with him. So, and actually I have a good news for you. Uh my mom have a new boyfriend and he's a doctor and uh he could help Cedric and for you too.
>> Yeah. I'm sorry but me and Cedric we just broke up like >> Oh, sorry. I didn't know but I thought you know he has a cancer and uh my stepfather >> sorry like is it a joke or like what do you mean he has a cancer sedric he has a cancer >> yes he have but not that's the point so and also uh >> no wait are you serious >> yes but uh not worried we will be fine so >> so at this point actually I was in Italy weeks ago and I was living in Milan and also in the lake and Uh yeah, it's me. Hazel, are you are you okay?
>> Listen, I wanted to call you to discuss everything. It just >> Yeah, I I I know about the cancer.
I mean, maybe we could meet up in a person.
>> Yeah, of course we can. Just name the time and I'll come over the way.
>> Yeah, that that would be great.
Actually, like maybe we can um meet next to the river if you're all right with it. Yeah.
>> Yeah. All right.
>> Okay. Um thank you.
Okay. So, I feel really bad what happened in our relationship.
You know, >> I wouldn't have broken with you if I know you wouldn't worry so much. I mean, I understand that worrying about a loved one is normal, but honestly, I was starting to feel for you, not for myself.
>> You know, I worked up with psychologist and he told me that I was like totally fine. I mean, I just I just had so much baggage on me like school, like friends, family problems and I just couldn't handle it all.
You were losing your mind over some makeup. And here's your partner is literally dying right before your eyes.
>> I'm really fine right now. You know, >> I I can handle the cancer.
I mean, I mean, maybe I hate like everything. I can hold on right now, you know? I can I can I can I really need to Oh, so Cedric, right? You're a Hazel boyfriend if I understand correctly.
>> Kind of.
>> Kind of.
>> I have a general idea of what you're about to talk. So, let me know. Are you and Hazel still together or did you came to me just for help? Uh, and what uh the current situation of your relationship?
>> Um, well, we broke up about three or four months ago.
>> [sighs] >> But we have meet recently about a week ago and um it was awful.
We were just uh sitting there talking about our relationship [snorts] and I started to talk about everything we had but for some reason the only thing spinning in her head was that I'm sick.
She just started panicking going up to people asking for our phone. And yes, we have had like this incidents before.
Maybe it's because your situation now is much more difficult than it was.
>> Hi guys, we are moving to a new apartment very soon.
>> Yeah, we will invite you there.
In the past, those were just a regular fights where she understood that you might break up with her.
>> But now she realizes that you want just a breakup. Uh she might never see you again.
Imagine yourself on here on her place how it likes to be.
I understand what it's like to lost many people in the situation like this who was normal anxiety is absolutely different thing >> compared to what she's doing. Yes.
>> Yeah.
>> Mhm.
>> All right. You have come to this conclusion by yourself. Then tell me what do you think that uh she is not that normal anxious people like uh any partner in a relationship?
>> Well, she start stressing over things that never happened and uh it probably never will happen. Do you know why almost none of Hazel paintings are ever preserved? Because for some reason if something doesn't work out instead of fixing it she throws it away throws it up a hat seeing no other option how to fix it.
I don't understand really the whole situation but I wanted to ask her friend May to text Hazel. Maybe she called visit you again because you really saved our relationship last time.
You know, I hope I can help her too, but I think it's suspicious that she might be uh mentally ill.
What do you mean e?
>> You see, last time Hazel uh tried coming to see me, she had these uh very strange quirks everywhere. It was when she was worried about something, but at the same time, she had already resigned herself to what was going to happen.
And I have one theory but I need to make sure about this before making any conclusions.
Is there any way how I can help her?
>> You know help yourself first and then I will handle this situation here.
>> Thank you.
>> Okay. You're welcome.
Hi, listen.
>> I want to talk to you, but now I'm a little bit busy. And S just called me and br me. And guys, I don't know what happened between you two, but I think he just want to explain that uh maybe you need to meet Dr. him again. And also Sed said that he want to let you know that he still wants to talk to you and just for now and uh it will be better for you to see a specialist maybe. So let him know that you decide in the end.
Um okay. Yeah, I think it's like a good idea. So, okay. Bye.
Awesome.
Hey, so do you want to talk about what happened.
>> Cuz it was just breath. I would just try to see when the pain would come. I do feel right.
