Daredevil S2 E3 | New York's Finest | First Time WatchingAdded:
Hi, welcome to Reacts with Jax. I'm Jax and today I'm reacting to Daredevil season 2 episode 3. It's time to figure out what happened to Matt because The Punisher and Daredevil have just disappeared from this crime scene and now we got to figure out what they're doing. My prediction is they are becoming best friends.
No, not really. I think they are probably hiding out somewhere together.
Hopefully, maybe. That's what I want to have happen. I'm just going to jump right into this. So, make sure you subscribe, like this video, hit that bell notification, and remember, you can always check out full length reactions on my Patreon. The link is in the description below. Let's get started.
>> Stay down, Maddie. Don't get up.
>> So, this must have been when he was younger.
>> You need rest.
Wow, what a great transition.
>> Excuse me.
>> This is not how you become best friends with Matt. You are not doing what I want you to do.
>> Unbelievable.
Is that soup?
Maybe it's coffee.
Maybe it's something a little stronger than coffee.
>> Morning, sunshine.
>> To be fair, they were attacking each other, so maybe that's why he tied Matt up. Wow.
And here I was thinking they were going to go out, bond, maybe get some pancakes. You can't be enemies with someone you get pancakes with. You really can't. Go ahead, try find an arch nemesis. Get an arch nemesis first. Then invite them out for pancakes. They will no longer be your arch nemesis.
They will become your pancake friend.
Plan didn't go the way you thought, did it?
That's what happens when you leave Foggy and KP in the dark. Someone better be getting my car.
>> Monday's 5 minutes out.
>> Someone better be getting my car.
>> Why can't you get your car? People are dead.
>> Keep the press out of here.
>> Before you leave, Mr. Nelson and Miss Paige wanted to work.
>> An agreement suddenly means something to you.
>> You wanted your client in witness protection, right? My offer is still valid for 23 minutes. Grotto's gone.
>> Too bad. You used our client for bait.
>> That's a pretty big allegation.
>> Allegation?
>> Let's be real honest here. No [ __ ] Won't take much to sell that you're the ones that compromised this operation.
>> What?
>> Say that story goes public.
>> You were saying that you would blame us for this.
>> I never said that. Did I say that?
>> I didn't hear it.
>> Stay away from this case.
>> Nothing. H not even little support.
>> The world wouldn't have won that fight.
>> Get a gun. Just start going after. Mow people down. At this point, >> I'm going to go back to the office. I'm going to see if I can find a way that Reyes doesn't skin us alive.
>> Foggy is really good with handling this like corporate political maze.
>> You say you don't hear the bullet that gets you. Always thought that sounded like a bunch of [ __ ] to me.
>> How about you, Red?
>> They have nicknames now. That's his BFF name for you, Red.
Are you done?
>> The way you get out of here, the way you walk free is if I want you to.
>> Why didn't you take my mask off?
>> Don't give a [ __ ] about who you are.
>> Oh, >> you killed everyone else.
>> Why am I still alive?
I got in your way twice now, and you don't strike me as someone who just lets that happen.
What?
>> Wow.
>> To know your way around.
You sure carry yourself like a soldier.
>> What are you going to do with all this?
>> If you get this, I'm in the ER. We need to talk.
>> I'm back.
>> Excuse me. I'm looking for a nurse named Claire. I believe she works the night shift.
>> Oh, she's here. She's busy.
>> I'm so glad they're bringing Claire into this.
>> You want to be, >> Mr. >> Do you want to be?
>> We can see you. Now, >> this must be difficult to try and figure out how to prioritize people who come to the ER.
>> You have to kind of either rely on your visual ability to assess somebody to determine how dangerous things are or somebody's ability to tell you how dangerous something is for them. But like, what if somebody has internal bleeding? You don't know. Oh, what if somebody's not honest about what happened to them?
>> Quiet.
>> This looks like a nightmare.
>> Listen up.
>> Police are waiting to take you into custody.
>> Claire asking what happened and blaming one of our people for your mistakes. Now, too, your fault. That clear?
>> Why couldn't you just saw him back gone?
>> That's intense.
>> The meds haven't even kicked in yet, >> Claire.
>> And he wasn't in pain. screaming in pain. I would not be so gracious.
>> Nelson and Murdoch, may I help you?
>> What the hell was that?
>> Grotto.
>> Grotto, where are you?
>> Like I tell you [ __ ] after what went down?
>> Totally get that.
>> You going to help me out or not?
>> Uh, yeah. We'll try.
>> Try. Shut up. Goddamn lawyers are all light running in your mouth. All that fancy talk.
>> Listen, Brad, the police are coming after you. You have to come in.
>> Well, that shooting was was cuz of him, wasn't it? The psycho from the hospital.
I've got my own plan now. Getting out of this hell hole while I'm still breathing. Tell that donut of a lawyer and the blind man they can kiss my ass.
>> Grotto, please.
>> You can go to hell.
>> Yeah, what happened was terrifying.
Would you trust the DA again? Or would you just go on your own?
>> I think I would just go on my own. Go to Florida. That's where they were going to put you in the first place. It's >> why we're here, isn't it?
How many will this make?
>> Reluctant friendship bonding between them.
>> You've done this what? 10, maybe 20 times.
How long's it been? 6 months, a year, or your whole life. You can stop now. Walk away.
>> Walk away. Could you do that? Could you walk away?
>> You couldn't even walk away for one night.
Ooh, the bells ringing.
>> Always got to have that church.
>> What is that? Midnight >> religious theme in the background.
>> You a Catholic >> once >> from New York >> once.
>> You still go to mass?
>> Stop now. Right.
>> You know, funny thing about New York, few people are actually from here. They feel like the city's a part of them till one day something changes. Maybe they get older and then they have to leave.
They have to get out. Maybe they enlist.
Where' they send you?
>> Oh, >> you're shrink red.
>> Come on. You must be something when you're not wearing the long johns, right?
>> The long johns.
>> Ever been to war?
>> No. Seen some fights.
>> Sure you have.
>> Almost had you beat. I talk about trading hands on a rooftop red. I'm talking about [ __ ] [ __ ] that you ain't been in.
>> I know one thing.
>> What's that?
>> War changes people. I'm just saying I know it can be hard.
>> You run around this city in a pair of little boys pajamas and a mask. You go home at night, right? Take that mask off. Maybe you think wasn't you who did those things. Maybe it was somebody else. Was he soldiers? We don't wear masks. Yeah.
>> You know what I think?
>> What's that?
>> You're still at war. for crying out loud. So, you charge by the hour, doc, or what?
>> I definitely think you should charge by the hour.
>> What kind of name is the devil of hell's kitchen anyway?
>> I didn't ask for that name.
>> I'm sorry. I don't see you running from it.
>> I don't do this to hurt people.
>> Yeah. So, what is that? Just a job per >> I don't kill anyone.
>> Is that why you think you're better than me?
>> No.
>> Yeah.
>> People don't have to die.
>> But, you believe that?
>> I believe it's not my call and it ain't yours either.
>> Somebody asked you to put on that costume or you take it upon yourself.
You know what I think you hero?
>> I think you're a half measure. I think that you're a coward.
>> Whoa.
>> You know you're one bad day away from being me.
>> Yep.
>> H.
>> Someone's coming.
>> [ __ ] You make one sound and I'll open his head up all over this roof.
>> Hello.
>> Oh, don't do that. He's just a He's just a man trying to protect his roof. I'm looking for a certain mutual friend of ours.
>> All right. Careful, [ __ ] >> Uh, excuse you.
>> You ripped that, you're going to have to restitch it yourself.
>> Well, you know, our friend is fond of extreme sports.
>> The code talk.
>> The last time he came to me for help, I wound up elbow deep in our mutual friend's blood. I'm never doing that again.
>> At least make yourself useful. You're on the other side of the table.
>> I'm not sure I'm qualified for this.
>> You're breathing. You're not in cuffs.
You're on the team. Spray when I say.
This is um an insurance nightmare, right?
>> I'm just trying to keep my head down, do my job, stay sane. Spray.
>> Trust me.
>> Why couldn't she spray with her other hand?
>> I'd do it myself, but I'm out of ideas.
>> Listen, as close as he gets, Matt's pretty good at not getting himself killed.
>> So, you've probably been pulling in lots of DOAs lately.
>> There's been a serious uptick in gunshot wounds now that you mention it.
Something's really got the gangs riled.
It's a someone. And the freak responsible is the one Matt's up against. I'll be out of your hair before you know it. But please, he's my best friend. I just need to make sure he's okay.
>> Son of a [ __ ] >> Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh.
>> I never thought about this being a problem, but yeah.
>> You're going to have a bunch of rivals altogether.
>> Frank, what are you doing up here, Frank?
>> Frank? Well, the truth is um >> never seen you around.
>> Yeah. No, I'm uh I'm in town. I'm just visiting my crazy sister.
>> Betty and Tubi.
>> I see you've had the pleasure. I know what this is for our health.
>> Sh. Otherwise, this man's head will be blown off.
>> What was that? Just a rat.
>> We exterminated.
>> Remember my uncle used to tell me that all the time. Fumigated.
>> Hard work. Yeah. Well, we could get after the war. You know, cursive soldier.
>> No, third Marine division.
>> Fighting third.
>> Goddamn right. You?
>> Yeah. Yeah. Iraq, Afghanistan.
>> Welcome home.
>> Thank you, sir.
>> You You smoke as much as you like, son.
>> Thank you, sir.
>> All right, son.
>> Hey, Marie.
>> Yeah. Simply >> this guy is like so weirdly likable and deadly at the same time.
>> Frank, that's your real name. You get off threatening innocent people.
>> He's only in danger because you squeal because >> you had a gun on him. You thumb back the hammer.
>> I really have to spell it out for you, Red. Huh?
>> Please do.
>> I'm just some crazy [ __ ] going around unloading on whoever I want to. Yeah, that's exactly what I think.
>> I think that the people I kill need killing. That's what I think.
>> You left men hanging from meat hooks.
>> Run around this city like it's your damn shooting gallery.
>> Yeah. WHAT DO YOU DO? THROW THEM IN JAIL. EVERYBODY CALLS you a hero, right?
And then a month, A WEEK, A DAY LATER, THEY'RE BACK ON THE STREETS DOING THE SAME GODDAMN THING.
>> PUT HIM IN THE GODDAMN RIGHT I do.
>> You ever doubt yourself, Frank?
>> Not even for a second.
>> Really? Maybe even evil, but had one small piece of goodness in him. Maybe just a scrap, Frank, but something.
I think you're wrong.
>> Which part?
>> All of it. Look around, man. This idiot stinks. It's a sewer. I think that this world, it needs men that are willing to make the hard call.
>> THAT'S WHAT I THINK. I THINK YOU AND ME ARE THE SAME. YOU KNOW IT.
>> ONLY I DO THE ONE THING THAT you can't.
You hit them and they get back up. I HIT THEM AND THEY STAY DOWN.
>> What about hope?
>> Come on, Frank. Santa Claus. You want to talk about Santa Claus?
>> I live in the real world, too. I've seen >> Can we talk about the Easter Bunny, too?
If we're going to talk about Santa Claus, >> the people you murder deserve another chance.
>> To kill again, rape again is what?
>> No, Frank. Try again, Frank. And you really are a nut job.
>> Frank, you say you're unhinged, Frank.
>> That's not what you said. You called him a nut job.
>> There is goodness in people, even in you. And you're going to have to kill me cuz I'm never going to stop coming for you until I take you down. You want to know why?
>> Why is that?
>> Because you're insane.
>> He really does not need another head wound at this point, people. Goodness my gracious. How many concussions can he take before something permanently goes wrong?
Late night.
>> What are you doing here?
>> Protecting our client who is still out there alone.
>> Mr. Gro is a convicted criminal and lucky we gave him the time of day. I'd forget about him if I were you.
>> We promised to protect him.
>> Maybe you shouldn't have.
>> H guess your word doesn't mean anything.
>> So she could also take down someone like you.
>> ADA Elliot James took the fall after Reyes mishandled informants in the Teller case about a year ago. Chris Davidson. Did you ever meet him? Fired after the state supreme court disqualified her entire office from the Pel case due to widespread misconduct.
But not everyone got fired to see Reyes walked out in one piece. She's good at throwing people to the wolves.
>> Yeah, she can take down Nelson. Murdoch this month, but how long before you are getting pulled into the [ __ ] with the rest of us?
>> You trying to scare me?
>> No, your boss clearly is. and Reyes are not on the same team.
>> Where would you even find this [ __ ] >> I want protection for Nelson and Murdoch. We're small. We can't survive getting thrown to the wolves. Not without your help.
>> What makes you think I can help you?
Even if I wanted to.
>> You have information on the Punisher?
>> That's classified.
>> Do I look like I'm going to post it on YouTube?
>> How will the Punisher files, assuming they even exist, help you stop that from happening?
>> Yeah, >> I'll let you know.
>> Unbelievable.
So, you expect me to implicate the DA on purpose? And you cannot come into my office asking me to betray my boss. So, I'm going downstairs to get security and you will not contact me again. No emails, no phone calls, nothing, Miss Paige.
>> My headphones started getting weird, so I had to switch.
>> Maybe his office is being recorded. THEY FOUND FREDDY BONES WITH 10 SLUDGE TO HIS CHEST.
>> SO THAT'S why he didn't want to help her. Does >> this happen often?
>> Or is he like really not helping her?
>> I'm not going to tell YOU AGAIN. PUT IT DOWN NOW. You got face tattoos, friend.
That's like telegraphing. I know what prison meatloaf tastes like.
>> And who are you?
>> I'm the pro bono suit you'll try to retain after you go down for this. You >> got a big mouth, [ __ ] >> You forget. I do this for a living. I could ask you to look at the faces of the other patients scared to death because the two of you can't keep it in your pants. I'm not asking you to lose the oh so serious stink eye. Just don't fight.
>> Son of a [ __ ] >> Yeah, he's good at what he does. He's good at it.
Are you okay? Do you have your hearing?
>> 357. One round in the chamber. They feel right in your hand, huh? Only way you stop me is with the head shot.
>> I'm not going to shoot you.
>> Not yet. You're not.
>> Uh-oh.
>> I'm put a face to all your fancy talk about redemption, aka >> I don't want to die.
>> I caught this piece of [ __ ] stealing the car trying to skip town.
>> Scared. I'm sorry. I was running for my life.
>> You tell them a little bit about yourself. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO THIS.
>> I'M NOTHING. I'M just nobody.
>> You were doing a little more than that a few months ago.
>> Lafayette Street, second floor.
>> Please. I'm sorry.
>> No. Please. Please. I'm I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
>> I'm only going to ask you one more time.
>> Cuz the order came from on high.
>> Yeah. You say it. You hear me?
>> I don't understand these animals. YOU CAN'T BACK OUT.
>> JUST SHUT UP. STOP TALKING. GR.
>> YOU SAY IT.
>> This is so intense.
I didn't know the old lady was in the house.
>> What old lady?
>> What did you do?
>> I didn't know she was in the house. She was supposed must be in the house. She started screaming. Begged her to stop.
>> What did you do?
>> Well, he killed her.
>> My face. I had no choice.
>> Old lady left her husband. Dead man, wife, and kids. You still think this piece of [ __ ] is worth saving?
>> I'm not going to shoot him.
>> I will.
If you don't kill me first.
>> Wow.
He's kind of like the Joker from DC, you know?
>> Not here.
>> Creating little tests.
>> Guess that's as good a news as I'm going to get.
>> He's going to be fine.
>> I don't think so.
>> I've seen him in action.
>> This is really stretching him morally to a place I wasn't expecting them to go. I mean, this is >> and our mutual friend I wish things could have been different between us. He's a very complicated man.
Maybe the city needs him.
>> Matt made a mistake when he let you go.
>> What makes you think he did?
>> Oh, I love Claire.
>> Shut up.
>> Take the shot. Go to hell.
>> Too late.
>> Killing him is not going to bring anybody back.
>> No, but it will keep him from HURTING ANYBODY ELSE.
>> FIVE.
>> Shoot him. Shoot him.
>> Four.
>> Gosh.
>> TAKE THE SHOT, RED. TAKE THE SHOT. NO, YOU DON'T DO IT. HIS DEATH'S ON YOU.
Either way, you're a killer.
>> No.
>> The kind I'm going to make right now.
>> You found another way.
>> Help me.
I'm gone. I'm dying.
>> Punisher. I'm going to get you out of here. He doesn't think anyone can be saved or be redeemed.
>> No. Put me down.
>> Why didn't you stop him?
>> Oh gosh. All your bikes.
THOSE ARE cookies in the corner. Cookies or muffins?
Oh gosh.
two billion times.
>> What is going to happen if Matt does not >> let him shoot them when they're down there? They're they're just going to come up and start hurting everybody.
>> They're coming for you. Only way you get out of this is if you grow wings.
Gosh, Karen is just throwing herself into this.
This has got to have a toll on you constantly looking at these types of photos or like seeing these kinds of crime scenes.
You're carrying him out. Can't you hide in somebody's apartment? Go to Betty.
Betty's apartment. 2B. Was that where she was?
You're taking the elevator.
What the hell?
>> You okay, sir?
>> Yes.
>> I'm good.
>> Matt saving that man. Oh, he still has a >> He still has his hand all taped up.
Oh, I really like the way they've lit this. They do such great things with the lighting in this show.
Gosh, doing this fight scene on these stairs must make it so much more challenging.
He must be exhausted.
Great.
Be so much easier if you could just shoot him.
Damn.
>> Hope these guys never need a lawyer.
How did that catch on fire?
My god.
Great episode. Seeing Matt and the Punisher go up against each other on the rooftop, not physically, but just from their different moral perspectives was really fascinating. In the first season, we got to see pretty extensively how Matt views the world. And in this episode, we got to see how the Punisher views the world in comparison to Matt's perspective. It it is sad that he doesn't believe that people are redeemable or he doesn't really have a lot of hope in people. And I'm glad that Matt hasn't lost that despite all of the terrible things he's seen. Then again, the Punisher is basically saying, I've seen worse. You know, I've been through hell. I have good reasons to think that these people aren't going to change. And you know, based off of his experiences, he might be very valid in that perspective. Maybe throughout the rest of the season, his perspective will become more nuanced. Maybe. I think that would be nice. Um, and uh maybe Matt I wonder if Matt's perspective will ever change or or if he'll eventually get to a point where he either has killed somebody or his perspective changes about life and death. I'm excited to see more of Matt's interactions with the Punisher. I guess they're not going to become best friends forever. You know what? It's just not that kind of fairy tale story. And that's okay.
So, thank you so much for watching this with me. I had a blast and I hope you did as well. I hope you have the most amazing rest of your day. I'll see you next time. Bye.
