The way you think, the way you show up at church, the way you dress, the way you do your hair, what kind of jobs you have, how many piercings to have in your ear, what to eat, what to drink, how to have kids, how many kids to have, what roles are okay for you to play, and which ones are not, how your marriage should be. Recovering from high-demand religion is so hard because you are not just finding a new church to go to. You are figuring out who you are without your church telling you exactly how to be anymore.
