Typhoon Sinlaku Shifts North...追加:
Typhoon Slaco shifting to the north.
Thank you for joining me. I'm meteorologist Brian Shields. It is Thursday, April 16th, 2026. We're thinking of all of those in Saipan, Tinian, Roa, and Guam in the wake of this and still the gusty winds throughout the day. We're going to zoom down to this, take a look at what to expect in the Philippines in the short term with the heat and keep an eye on the overall Pacific as this continues to lift its way to the north. But with that said, that stall uh was so so bad with this. How slowly it moved. It is now moving to the north. Finally, here's Guam right at the bottom of your screen.
Uh you get toward Rooda, Tinian, and Saipan right here. Of course, the core of this has lifted to the north, but still on the backside. You get those strong wind gusts. We are still dealing with those wind gusts in Saipan and Tinian and elsewhere. For example, Roa and Guam with this lifting to the north.
Now through the day, this is about midday. You could see this flow coming in on the back side of it as it lifts to the north into the North Pacific.
Eventually, uh we're going to see still some of the gusty winds, but the heaviest weather lifting away by 8:00 tonight. It'll go from very windy tomorrow in the way of some strong breezes that will be around. And then through the day tomorrow, our Friday, looking good, but of course being very mindful of that recovery effort. all of the the uh relief efforts ongoing. Thank you for your support on this channel supporting others. We've been seeing your comments. They have been getting those across uh Roa, Guam, and Tiny. So, the strong winds lifted to the north, but still into tonight, you see this white shading, those are winds, some of the gust of 50 mph or 80 kilometers an hour. So, no doubt at least the next 6 hours. Still some strong winds, not the typhoon force winds, but strong winds.
And then back to that strong breeze tomorrow. Uh but nothing super crazy as this finally lifts to the north and gets the heck out of here. And that can't happen soon enough. Still watching out for some additional rain totals across parts of the uh northern Mariana Islands. We get back toward Tinian and Saipan. We could get some additional totals just overly the su next 6 to 8 hours especially if we get a couple of those rainbands on the southside upwards of 100 millimeters or 4 inches of rain even pressing 150 millimeters of rain or 6 in. If we get stuck in a band that just rotates around, we'll see some continuous rain. Of course, with that some of those strong winds over the next 6 to 8 hours. Now, seeing this track, uh, this will continue to lift its way to the north and then make that curl.
Right now, winds are at 130 mph, 210 km an hour. The pressure gradually rising, which is a sign of weakening, but that did not happen enough. and uh it is now moving to the north and then we'll see it working its way to the northnortheast as it eventually makes that turn. I'll update this in upcoming videos. If you are subscribed, you'll get those notifications. If you're subscribed to this channel and thousands and thousands of new subscribers, thank you. I don't take your uh trust lightly uh as we track typhoons together. I got you covered no matter where you're watching from. So, watching this, this is the path that made that landfall right into Tinian and Saipan. Not what anyone wanted to see. Of course, the strength of this now starting to take that turn to the north. Here's a look at the models. Kind of a grouping of models, if you will, to give you a feel of it making a turn. We do have a couple islands out here, of course, watching everyone, but it should make that turn enough. So, uh, Japan, there's a couple, we got a couple islands around that I'm monitoring, and I'll continue to keep an eye on long term, but overall, it'll make that turn and then we'll see that weakening trend, that gradual weakening.
One day out, two days out, three days out, right into the weekend, we'll continue to see the weakening trend out of this. Here's the big picture. Then we'll zoom down into the Philippines.
This here lifting to the north because of the fronts. One, two, three fronts that help turn it and is helping to grab it. There's good and bad with that. We never wish a system upon someone. It did take that turn though, of course, across Guam and the northern Mariana Islands.
Uh but with that said, these fronts now trying to thread the needle, keeping this south of Japan. It is not coming to Japan, Korea for example, uh China, Taiwan, the Philippines, it is staying away. Then way down the road, we'll keep an eye on some of the moisture here.
Shortterm, I'm not seeing any development. But as we work our way into about a week from now, I want to keep an eye on a buildup of some rain uh back toward parts of the Pacific. And we'll see if that does develop into the next area to watch. Again, you'll get those notifications if you're subscribed to this channel. But watching this lifting to the north and you see some of the coloring starting to lose those yellows as we work our way into the weekend and it will lose its tropical characteristics once it lifts into the North Pacific and staying so so far away from the Philippines. Now, it was able to strengthen thanks in part to the uh low wind shear and very warm water temperatures, but as it lifts up to the north, it runs into the cooler water temperatures and some of the high windshare. Those are winds above our heads. this red shading here it is right here as Guam as it lifts to the north uh on Friday tomorrow it is going to run into that wind shear and that will help to also rip it apart hence some of the weakening we're going to see now rain chance stays low but I want to show you this across the Philippines got you covered in the Philippines as you well know on this channel I'm Mr. for weatherman Asia. Next day or two, we're mainly dry through Friday, tomorrow, mainly dry, but we'll keep an eye on that flow coming in out of the east. It may get enhanced enough to give a few of us a couple showers. Maybe not the next couple days. There'll be one or two, but maybe not a whole lot. But as we work our way into Sunday, that would be the better day of getting a shower, too.
Still not widespread as we know as the summer pattern goes on and the heat goes on. But you see Luzon, a couple little showers. Uh Mindanao over toward Davo, we may catch a shower or two. So just one or two, especially if you're closer to the east on the east side. That's where we have a better chance. Visayas, maybe a shower or two, Sibu, maybe we catch one as we work our way into Sunday night. We'll see. I'll be watching your comments. If you happen to get a shower across the Philippines, let me know. Let me know how it's feeling out there. I know it is no doubt a hot. Keep me posted. Put your location and what you're uh seeing. Uh rain totals, of course, even if we do get a shower, maybe 10 millimeters of rain. That should be just about it. So, Typhoon Slaku moves to the north, weakening with it, but still the gusty winds that we're dealing with, of course, today and still generally that strong breeze tomorrow, but definitely uh really changing through the day on our uh Friday uh weakening as it moves into the North Pacific. And I'll monitor what's next on this channel. Got you covered for what we'll be watching out for down the road.
Thank you for being part of Mr. Weatherman Asia. We're thinking of everyone in the northern Maran Islands and Guam. Watch those comments. uh just leaving so much uh kindness out there, but still with the strong uh winds as we go throughout the day. Be safe.
