Episode 128: We Kept Digging… Then the Locals Started Showing UpAdded:
Dude, there is a freaking stencil jug in this hole, man.
It's a lowqu. It's at the very bottom of the dump. So, I'm really hoping this thing is going to be ho. And it is a George Goodman. I already know what it is.
Let's figure it out together. Why don't we? Please.
>> You can uh you can see why Poppy is happy cuz uh she is literally Oh my goodness.
>> Oh, it's at the bottom, dude. I'm Please. We've been down this road before, bro.
>> I know. Oh, please let it all be there.
Oh, yeah. Let it all.
Looks like it might actually be a half gallon. I can't tell. I don't I don't want to jinx it, but the top might be broken.
>> No, you don't see the top. Top.
>> I don't see the top.
>> Oh, no. Oh, yeah. You're digging into it now.
>> No, that's the bottom.
>> Oh, it's the bottom. Okay. Wait, it's still rough in there, right? Still hard to get out.
>> Oh, it's it is definitely mostly there.
If the top's not there. Yeah, top I think is gone for sure.
Hey. Well, >> no.
>> Can't win them all, >> bro. It's so clean. The top is clean cut.
>> Yeah, that's still awesome, bro.
Sad day.
>> Oh, man.
>> Man, that's so exciting.
Of course, the top would be gone.
Yep. The Goodman company, boys. There's several of these. That is a half gallon right there, man.
>> Man, that is a heartbreaker.
>> I mean, we could turn it into something.
>> Oh, yeah. No, it's still going to be a really good >> Look how cool.
>> It's still going to set on the shelf and look really good.
>> Get over here.
>> But man, I'd have been way more excited if it had been home.
>> I know it. I'd have been way more excited.
>> Flower pot.
>> Yeah. Yeah. And it' be I mean that's what I'm saying. It'd be sick. It'd be a good like uh just a catch all or something, you know, just kind of sit on the kitchen counter and >> put on your desk, put your pens in there.
>> Yeah. Wallet, phone, keys. So, I don't know, you know. I mean, it's still a sick piece of local history. And uh worth definitely getting out, but it's sad that it's not whole bad. Little shoe polish probably or >> die shine. It ain't no die shine. It's earlier than that.
Nice little blown mold cutie. Could have been medicinal as well. So, oh, we might have us a bottle down. I don't know if it's whole yet or not, but that was a bigger chunk of glasses out of Oh my god. might finally be on something here.
And it's at the very bottom of the dump.
There we go. So, hopefully it survived.
But our jug was at the very bottom of the dump and it didn't survive, which I'm still upset about. Let's hope it's not broken. Oh my good golly miss Molly.
It's whole.
>> That's a broken soda.
>> Oh yeah.
>> From Benton, Illinois.
Old Benton Bottling works. I don't That probably was a crown top.
That'll uh actually I think will no other damage. Yep. Looks like it will be a wonderful drinking glass candidate. I can't tell. I'm looking for the root glass mark cuz we might need to reberry this.
>> It's got a huge bruise right there on the side. I can already tell. Either way though, I mean, dad gum.
>> Wow.
>> Wish that one would have been whole, ladies and gentlemen.
>> Gorgeous color, too. Uh, this likely would have been a tool crown. It is a cup mold. Uh, this will probably date to, let's say, about 1900 to 1910 on that beauty right there.
Gosh, it's a little boy. It's a bull.
It's a little bit more.
>> It's probably slick.
>> It's a boss, please.
>> It's a slicker.
>> Oh, man.
>> It's just going to do that to us like it's like, oh, you Here you go. Here's a little bottle. Slick, though. I thought that was a flash, but I think it's just a little mold defect, which is kind of neat. But yeah, cute little medicine bottle blown in mold.
>> Slick.
>> Probably 1890 to 1910.
>> Hey, what?
>> Oh, it is an ery, I bet.
>> Yes, sure. This is a cool salad dressing. This honestly, I don't know that I've ever been with you since I found one of these last time. The last time I found one of these bad boys right there. No sir.

Nice little Forbes Forbes Bros. salad dressing.
>> It's a magazine. Forbes.
>> I figured it was a old derk.
>> That's killer. Yeah, that's it's funny that a salad dressing has been the best bottle we've dug today.
>> I mean, I'll take it.
>> It's cool. They are cool. Common or at least as far as I know. The the durks are very common, but this one may not be as common. But it is a gorgeous late 1800s, early 1900s salad dress. Well, look there.
Oh, that is a gorgeous little ink bottle.
>> Yes.
>> Little Oh, and it's embossed. This might be like a beef beef paste or something.
>> Yes, >> that is a tiny guy. Qul and Esser Company New York.
I have to do some research. That could very well be a nice cute little ink.
Does have a little chip on the base there. It looks like >> she is beautiful.
>> But man, that is a gorgeous. I would speculate speculate a nice little ink bottle there.
Hate that it's got damage, but something I've never found before. Not one that small. That is That is a nice little bottle.
We'll take that. Oh, here. I'll let you show.

>> Yes.
>> Yeah, it's pretty sick. Okay. Oh, this one's hollow. And it's embossed, brother.
>> Let's go. Please be a local. Oh my gosh, there is so much embossing on this.
>> Rosewood dandruff cure prepared by Jr.
Reeves Company, Anderson, Indiana.
>> They made that stuff back there.
>> Oh yeah, bro.
>> Wow.
>> Yeah, most of your hair tonics were >> I just figured they didn't care.

>> The embossing on it is gorgeous.
Oh, that's a ketchup if I ever seen one.
>> Oh, >> from Candon, New Jersey. Is it going to be one of the embossed ones?
>> Usually those are.
>> And this one is slick.
>> Dang.
>> That is a cool little ketchup bottle though. only catch a bottle we might not scream about.
>> Definitely got a neat little pattern to it. Would had a nice paper label there.
Wish that one would have been boss. Find a lot of them that kind of style. They say I can't remember some something from Camden, New Jersey.

Thank you, Lord. Finally.
Finally.
Finally.
No damage either.
Oh, let's go.
>> I'm about to Oh, man. I tell that's why I do it right there. Local history that I've never seen before. Now I can go research this, man.
>> Thank you. That's crazy.
This freaking Yeah, man.
Oh, yes. That is somehow >> it's embossed in the other side, too.
>> No, it's just the way it's strong. It's >> got the increments on the sides.
>> Yeah. Okay.
>> Oh my gosh, dude. I'm freaking out.
>> Oh my gosh. I mean, this is a I found these before. Pretty common fellow syrup of hypo hyposites.
Golly, I can't talk. Uh but an absolute smoker and this is a nice early uh this is a tool top so 1890s to probably about 1910. And I mean it is just it's gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. I mean we had a good day.
>> We did.
>> We had a really good day.
So we love you fabulous people. I'm going to say a prayer real quick and we're going to, you know, clean up our bottles and bury this hole. So, dear heavenly father, thank you for this wonderful day and getting to share this time with these people and just find this amazing history. As always, we just want to thank you for keeping us safe uh and just allowing us to do what we do, keeping us in good health. Uh I just pray for uh everybody here today, their prosperity, Father, their health. We know we have uh some of our home folk.
Father Roberta, she's going through some struggles right now, but uh we just pray that you uh you would continue to see her through recovery that it'll be fast and quick and uh that she can get back doing what she loves to do. Uh again, for anybody else, we know there's people that are dealing with all kinds of uh sickness and whether it's, you know, it could be any kind of disorder, anxiety.
I mean, we all struggle with things, Father, but we just pray that we never camp in the valley. Uh but that we would just always push ahead and look for the mountain top experience, Father. We know only you can provide that for us. Uh you're our comforter, our healer. Uh we just want to continue to share your word and the truth. Uh and again, we just cannot thank you enough. What a blessing it's been uh to just build this channel uh and defend our faith, share the gospel. So uh maybe today uh uh good friend of mine said that uh you know, you may be the only Bible somebody reads. So hopefully us defending our faith and just sharing our testimony and stuff uh it'll just plant that seed and uh continue to uh go out and plant more seeds and and just uh you know just for your kingdom, Father. That's what we're here to do. We're here to serve you and uh just to bring as many people home to the kingdom as we can. So we thank you again uh for everything you do and just ask you to continue and guide us throughout the rest of our work week. We ask these things in the name we pray.
Amen.
>> Amen, bro.
Well, Chad, I mean, it was a fabulous day, was it not? You know what I'm saying? There you go.
>> Awesome.
>> Even though I was tired, we uh we pushed through and we pulled some absolute bangers. So, I'm excited. Me and Pooky got to fill this hole back in. Uh and if it don't rain, you might see us out here again tomorrow cuz we want to keep continuing to do that way over there because there's probably some more bangers that way. Uh, so we love you and as always we'll catch you guys on that next.
