New U1 Pro AI Robot Is Built to Remember You… This Is Getting Creepy

Then a head forms Origin F1 stunned people with a face that can blink, react, and change expressions [music] almost like a real human. And now UBTECH has stepped into the same race. This is the company that already built Walker S2, the factory robot that can swap its own battery and keep working. But this time, UBTECH is not showing another factory machine. UBTECH just revealed the U1 Pro series, a realistic humanoid robot built in two versions, one male and one female. So, what is U1 Pro really built for? Not factory work. U1 Pro is designed as a personal human-like robot meant to live around people instead of machines. That goal is the reason UBTECH placed U1 Pro under a brand new name. U1 Pro sits under U-World, UBTECH's new consumer humanoid brand, while the Walker series stays focused on industrial work. That split matters [music] because UBTECH is not using U1 Pro to carry parts inside a factory. UBTECH wants U1 Pro to stand inside a home, remember personal details, and make daily interaction feel natural. [music] The key feature is a built-in memory emotional AI model. In simple words, [music] U1 Pro is designed to remember things like user preferences, routines, past conversations, and emotional cues, then use that memory to respond in a more personal way. Later, local memory encryption is another important layer because a robot that remembers a home also needs stronger protection around private data. But this is where the serious questions begin. UBTECH has not fully explained what information U1 Pro stores, how emotional signals are detected, or how much processing happens on the robot versus through cloud support. [music] It is the way UBTECH is packaging the whole robot as a human-like presence. Reports say U 1 Pro has 88° of freedom, which gives the robot more moving points across the body for posture, gestures, head movement, and natural-looking interaction. That does not automatically mean U 1 Pro can do heavy work, but it does help the robot look less stiff when standing near people, sitting down, [music] or reacting during a conversation. The reported 2 to 4 hours of battery life also gives a clear limit. U 1 Pro may work for short personal sessions, demos, or guided indoor interaction, but this is not proof of all-day home labor yet.
The realistic hair, clothing, glasses, [music] body shape, and face design are also part of the product itself, because UBTECH is not only selling a robot frame. UBTECH is selling a character-like companion that can be customized to feel more familiar.
Reports say pre-orders opened on jd.com on June 2nd with a deposit around $442, and more than 3,000 orders came in within 8 days. Still, U 1 Pro is not proven as a robot butler. There is no strong public proof that U 1 Pro can cook, clean, climb stairs, lift heavy items, or handle rough home tasks. Since the bigger reveal is expected on June 30th, the final price, limits, and real-world ability still need confirmation. For size, the male-styled model is reported around 6 ft tall and 93 lb, while the female-styled model is around [music] 5 ft 6 in and 78 lb.
Realistic robots are not just about movement anymore. Now the race is about presence, memory, [music] and human-like interaction. UBTECH was founded in Shenzhen in 2012 [music] and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2023. So, this is not a small lab suddenly entering the humanoid race. In 2025, UBTECH reported about 2 billion yuan in revenue with full-size embodied humanoid robot products and services [music] bringing in about 821 million yuan. The Walker series is the proof that UBTECH already has experience with full size robots outside simple display demos. [music] Walker S1 has been connected to factory use including automotive work, which shows UBTECH's push toward humanoids that can fit into real production lines. Walker S2 takes that direction further with 52° of freedom giving the robot more controlled movement across the body for factory tasks. Walker S2 can carry up to 33 lb per arm, which gives the robot enough handling ability for parts and tool related work. Its strongest upgrade is an autonomous hot-swappable battery replacement because Walker S2 can change its own battery in about 3 minutes and keep working with less downtime. Then Walker C1 shows the other side of UBTECH's plan revealed in May 2026.
Walker C1 is not mainly about heavy factory work. C1 is built more for public interaction, guiding, hosting, receptionist work, and service roles.
The robot performed waltz and ballet movements including Swan Lake elements, which shows smoother body control instead of pure lifting power. C1 has 26° [music] of freedom and a walking speed up to 3.7 mph. So, the use case is clear. Move through public spaces, greet people, guide visitors, and act more naturally in front of humans. That is why U1 Pro does not feel random. UBTECH already has factory robots, service robots, [music] and now a more emotional home companion lane. Droid Up, also called Joye Aide, is a Shanghai company founded in 2021, and Moya is one of the clearest examples of how far this realistic robot race is going. Droid Up unveiled Moya in early 2026 at Shanghai's Zhangjiang Robotics Valley, and calls Moya the world's first fully biomimetic embodied intelligent robot.
The biggest feature is active thermal regulation, which keeps the synthetic skin close to human warmth. That matters because most robots feel cold and hard, [music] while Moya is designed to feel warmer, softer, and more comfortable during close interaction. Under the skin, Droid Up uses soft layers that mimic [music] fat, muscle, and even a rib cage structure, so the body is not only built human from the outside, but also to feel less mechanical when touched. The face is another key part.
Moya has 25 degrees of freedom for micro expressions, which helps the robot create small smiles, eye movement, nods, and emotional changes instead of one fixed robotic face. In-eye cameras help Moya hold eye contact and mirror a person during conversation, which can make the interaction feel more direct.
Droid Up also claims Moya's walking style is 92% human-like, but some observers still notice an odd gait, almost like walking in heels. Moya's biggest limit is not the idea, it is the price and the market. At around $173,000, with only about 50 units expected in the first batch, and wider availability targeted for late 2026, Moya is not a normal home robot. That price pushes Moya toward elder care trials, museums, hospitality, banking, and research spaces, where a realistic [music] robot can greet people, guide visitors, or study human robot interaction, but the uncanny valley is still real. Some people may find Moya warm and comforting, while others may find Moya ghostly. Then a head form takes a different route with Origin F1. Instead of building a full walking humanoid, Origin F1 focuses on the most emotional part of a robot, the face. [music] It is a desktop ultra-bionic robot built around the head, eyes, face, neck. Its 26 [music] degrees of freedom help control eye movement, blinking, neck motion, and speech-driven [music] facial expressions, so conversation feels less frozen. Vision and voice features add face recognition, visual perception, speech recognition, and speech synthesis. That does not prove true emotional understanding, but it does show how realistic robots are moving toward eye contact, reaction, and human-like presence. That is the strange part of this new robot race. UBTECH is trying to make Yui 1 Pro remember people. Jiroit Up is making Moya feel warm. And a head form is turning Origin F1 into a face that can react almost instantly.
