[00:00:00]Okay, here's your chemistry for this month, I guess. I'm making some bromine because I need some of it again and I ran out.

[00:00:08]So, every YouTuber makes preparing bromine look all complicated and dangerous. It really is not as long as you have, you know, ventilation and you know what you're doing. I know what I'm doing even if it doesn't look like it.

[00:00:20]So, maybe not your first beginner project, but you know, it really is not that hard for someone experienced. And you know, dry it or your acid and because I need this very anhydrous sodium bromide bromination.

[00:00:34]I will go ahead and treat this with phosphoric acid still to come out.

[00:00:38]Uh to dry up the phosphoric acid. And because we're using the sodium bromide in great slight excess, we're very pure of and using bromide um and in fact, if you do have an anhydrous sodium bromide, um sodium bromide and everything it's slightly Um but anyways, here's the phosphoric acid and stirring from that bromine water on top of it. Ideally, I would have filtered using glass wool in case there's suspended sulfuric acid, which is probably sulfur trioxide obviously from nitrogen dioxide, but it's not taking it Um so we're going to have whatever Um and judging by the fact that the bromine slicks off the glassware quickly, you know that it's very anhydrous. So, there you go.
