The Ashtavakra Gita teaches that true spiritual realization comes through becoming desireless and selfless, which transforms one's perception of reality. When desires are abandoned, the mind becomes like a river merging into the ocean—limitless and infinite. The realized soul (Jñānī) sees all phenomena as illusory (maya), recognizing that there is only one Atman manifesting as many forms. Such a person experiences no bondage or liberation, no happiness or sorrow, because they have transcended the dualistic mind. The key to this transformation is not external rituals or practices but internal surrender and the elimination of ego-driven desires. When one becomes a pure instrument of the Divine, acting without attachment to results, they naturally attain this state of self-effulgence.

Episode 63: Sathya Darpan – Lectures on Ashtavakra Gita by Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai
Added:Oh, he was tomorrow.
Sh.
Oh sh >> When God gives us a task to do, he also gives us the strength to do it. If we are surrendered enough.
When Sri Rama was to find out where mother Sitha was kept by Rahana, he asked Hanuman of all the people. And of all the people, he gave Hanuman his ring and said, "Give it to Mother Sitha on the other side of the sea.
How to go? The whole army needed a bridge." But Hanuman did not need one.
Sh. Rama said you just leap over and then you will reach the other side.
That's almost an impossible task by every limited imagination of any being.
But Hanuman was not so much concerned about the problem of jumping across the sea because he knew that when Sri Rama has given him the task to do this, he will also give him the strength to do that. But did Hanuman grow wings? No. Did Hanuman find some new technique of jumping? No. Did Han become anything else, anything different than what he was to achieve this task? No. He simply was surrendered to the task given by Sriama and he submitted himself to Sriama in complete obedience. And he just made an effort to jump. And low and behold, as they say, he flew right across the sea and landed on the other side. And there he of course delivered the ring and did his task that was given by Sri Rama. When I was reading through these books, imagine all these books were written in 2022 not in 2026.
That time I had myself had not read most of the scriptures.
The only intention was to ensure that the time that was given to us during COVID lockdown was to be utilized in a proper way. And more than anything else, the thought that really was on top of my mind was how can people while they are all stuck inside their homes still have positivity in life when so much of uncertaintity is lingering and you nobody knew what what the cure for COVID was. This was 2020 20 actually not even 22 20 is when we started when the lockdowns were announced and then we came back and we did not know where to go and what to do. That's when I worried that all these people will be stuck in their homes. They won't have income.
They won't go to their jobs. They won't be able to meet their loved ones. And then this uncertainty of a disease that they do not know a cure for would eat them up, would trouble them. So what could be their rescue? What could be their refuge in these testing times? And the only thing that came to my mind was scriptures and all the knowledge that is hidden within our scriptures. Why not we share that with everyone? But I had never read any scripture except Katoishad which I was just reading once in a while having my morning tea. But it did did kind of uh suck me into it. So I I did read some but that was more for my own personal joy. I did not learn Sanskrit methodically through grammar and the process the structure. So there was even more difficulty. I would read only the English. I will skip the Sanskrit locas and read English translations alone. But then when this occurred to me, I just felt intuitively that this is divine decree. There is something that is to be done at this time. So when I myself read these books, I am actually very surprised to be very honest. I think did all these uh happen at all? It feels like I'm reading somebody else's book. Of course, it was all lectures given um as audios and videos and then all those were translated and made into books. But just the just the depth of it just the just the magnitude of it and continuous basis for almost a year and a half continuous basis we started with simple master the mind series then we moved into upanishads we made into narad bhagi sutras we also came back later to uh ashtavakra gita and bhagat gita now all this happened during that short period of time most of it And before that in my life I had not read any of these scriptures. Not diligently in some script maybe translations and summaries of these in different books. But now I look back and see who did this who was responsible for this and if you tell you were responsible we have the evidence we have the videos. I would still say no it wasn't me. Well, I know that with a limited human comprehension in the mind and not educated in uh the scriptures methodically like it happens in most of the matas. This wasn't possible. This wasn't possible.
Efforts were put. So now you would say oh so it just you downloaded from the universe and it happened. No, I did put efforts. Every day I would read up for a couple of hours. I will read through various scriptures. I'll have two three versions of the scriptures interpreted by different swami g's and I would read through all of them and then I would also listen to some of the YouTube talks of some of the swami g's just to gain an understanding and then whatever I felt would be my understanding that is what I was trying to share it was a summary of all but it also was unique because it was from the perspective of our own present circumstances about this mission because most of these books written by various swami ges were not running any service mission they pure vdantic institutions which were only teaching vedanta as a part of their job but it had to be interpreted practically for the use of everyone in our ashroom and beyond. So this had to be a new way of looking at things though there was a lot of effort every day almost 8 to nine hours I worked that is when I'll wake up I will read for 2 three hours then I'll come and speak for 2 three hours then in both lunch I will read for 2 three hours then again I'll come in the evening and speak for 2 three hours so it was like 8 to 10 hours of daily work and continuously it's not that you took breaks in between so it happened all the time but truly that gave me the strength to deal with the covid crisis because we had lots on our plate so many people they all looking at my face what's next and I have no clue and I'm just as much aware of what's going to happen with COVID as you were and so and then we had COVID spread in the ashram too and then we had to you know put all the people in uh whatever you call that quarantine and then people were not being able to access these knowledge then phones and digital devices were made available and that was not 2026 that was 2021 so you can imagine all the devices had to be procured, distributed, internet facility had to be increased and our team it and the publications team did a phenomenal job because they had very little time to achieve all this but they did everything and more than their might to ensure that the knowledge was continuously flowing like anesthesia. So people were admitted in ICUs, people were in the hospital wards, people were in isolation and uh quarantine but at the same time they were having access to all this knowledge and they were listening and many people gave feedback that this is the only thing that keeps us you know calm in these hospital circumstances. Imagine the ICUs with those beeping sounds of the machines and all the trauma that just just an hour ago somebody died next to you and then probably one more is dying on on the other side and you are in between sandwich. You don't know what's your fate and all that you can do is listen to ashtavakra gita listen to bhagat gita listen to punishads and keep positive that was so important to keep everybody positive. So I think this actually very much was ordained divinely. If somebody tells that no you did it. Yes there is evidence that physically seemingly I did it because I am on the video and my voice is what is recorded. But if you ask me who did it the body did not do it. The mind did not do it. There is something supreme in you in me that did it. It was chosen to be done this way.
So many times I myself would come back and be surprised with what happened. But all I'm saying is that when I'm reading these books myself, I myself surprised you, you know. So that is the clear indication that you are not the doer.
And if you tell me you have to take the credit for it, I would feel like a thief. What I should take the credit for it? I did not do it. This knowledge was always there. It was meant to reach you.
I was only a conduit. I was only an instrument. So this is the idea the Ganis live. They have all the knowledge.
They have all the understanding. But they can never accept the doership or enjoyership of things.
That is truly ashtagra in action.
There is nothing beyond that. You do your things as it comes to you. You put your best efforts. It's not that you sit and assume things will happen. No, you put your best best efforts and leave the rest to God. And then from there the divine takes over and does more than what you ever expect. the disproportionate results and look at when you do it for the loca sangraha for the benefit of all not for your personal you know promotion that I'm a swami g who's very good at giving discourses and I conduct satsang and I conduct all these kinds of activities not for that sake it was never meant for that sake it was only meant to keep everybody spiritually aligned and positive and hopeful and that actually this whole thing achieved today we are just rereading it because lot of new people have joined and should there be another covid I I don't have to repeat myself.
You would have all these knowledge for yourself. So you covid doesn't happen only once in a century. It can happen anytime. COVID I what I mean is calamities, distress, setbacks, challenges, failures, traumas, they happen to everybody every day in some way or the other. So how to deal with all of that?
Ashtavakra is the key. Ashtakra is the master key. Actually not even the key.
It is the master key which takes care of everything. So last shloka in uh page number 65 78th we had read the person who has that knowledge means it automatically emanates from him.
There's no effort made by that person.
He has reached that state where the knowledge emanates spontaneously. What kind of knowledge alakia which cannot be grasped by many any means. It comes to those who are meant to receive it.
He mentioned yesterday or day before.
The one whom it chooses, it reveals itself to that person.
Whom does it choose that self, that knowledge, the one who is ready? Yoga sansida, who is ready in that yoga. Who is ready in the yoga? Tatpara Samyendria. Who has controlled all the senses and the mind? Such a person is ready to receive this knowledge and when such a person is very ready the knowledge itself comes to the person like what happened during the covid it came to me efforts were there physically there were efforts but it came to you why because you were ready to receive it why because you were ready to do it for others sake it was not for your own personal sake and that's the key the moment selfish mind turns into selfless its possibilities are infinite it becomes limitless it becomes God's mind like the river becoming the ocean. It it becomes the entirety of the ocean, not one part of the ocean. Everything it is becomes every part of the ocean. So imagine the imagine the limitedness of a river. It can only do so much in its life. The moment it merges in the ocean, it becomes infinite ocean. So that is the idea. They're pure. They're selfless because of their nature. Their nature is like that. They're selfless by nature.
Shamati, they don't have to have any disturbance. They are always at peace.
There's nothing controlling restraining because they're always steady and they look at the whole world as illusory like a dream mayaishwa says consider all these as maya dream an illusion a magic show considering that enter the state of Brahman knowing that it is not worth chasing after shadows these are not real so why run behind these these things just stay what comes to you it's fine by natural ways but you don't run after anything you don't have to hanker after things so kinchasti all this does not really exist the rope is there snake does not exist that understanding if somebody develops with confirmed mind with conviction with experience not as a theory such a person is always at peace because he has realized that truth he's always at peace what should he run after nothing so this is The beauty of this shloka and one nice story is there from Vashishana Raayana here. See Rama Rama as a teenager he became very interested in spirituality like some of you become spiritual sudden interest comes and that is why I said teach spirituality to teenagers that is the most important phase of your life when you should learn spirituality once you grow out of that age you harden then molding you is very difficult and younger than that you're too young to teach you anything serious so the best time to teach is when you're just entering your 12 13 years and then you continue till you're 19 And during that time if you're intensely spiritual your foundations are set nothing can shake you in your life. That is why even here today they told me that small children also come for satssung. What should we do with them? Should they leave after satssung? I told let them not come for satsang. I said because what will they understand of what I teach let them be their place. Let these teenagers I think we have taken this for 9th onwards. So nine is approximately 15 years old like. So from there they start learning and then they will understand it better is our thing. So there's a story in Vashita Ramayana about how a prince is not willing to sleep and then there is this um nanny who is trying to put him to sleep. So she tells a story and the story is written here small version I'll just read it says that a story from the vashish ramanayana speaks of three princess two were never born and one was not born from a womb after their relatives passed away they left the kingdom and sat beneath three trees two that had not grown and one that had not flowered or had no seeds. They ate fruits not found on the trees then bathed in three rivers. two that were dry and one was without water. They reached a kingdom at top a hill where there were three palaces, two unbuilt and one was yet to be built. They found three vessels, two unbroken and one not made. They cooked rice that had never been grown and fed three brahmanas, two without mouths and one without a stomach.
That was the story the nanny tells the young prince who is not willing to sleep.
the illusory nature of the world. It all appears real but none of this is real.
That's what is the story all about. I believe Rama became so spiritually charged that he lost interest in the ways of the world. He said I don't want to be the king. I don't want to deal with this world. Who wants to be that? I want to abide in the self. After that looking at that Dasharata got very worried that what are you learn teaching? He told her sister what are you teaching Sri Rama? He's a young boy.
He's meant to rule this kingdom. I'm training him to be the next king and here you teach him all these kind of vedanta ashtavakra and nons please stop because then he's not going to do all these things then vashisha says uh to rama no you cannot afford to not engage in the world spiritual knowledge is to be used in the world not to be for yourself then Rama is not willing to listen he becomes very aloof and withdrawn then vasista becomes a small bee enters his nose and shakes him out of his Revery like Ramach Krishna needs gulab jamun right like that vasista goddess as a bee inside Rama's nose and wakes him up he was a teenager that time best stage fertile age for spirituality but then parents will come running what are what is the swami g teaching all of you who are you who am I who are all these people who is father who is mother they'll all get scared and are you People also should know you don't go and give guan to your parents unless you have assimilated it. Okay, this theoretical gan doesn't work. Mother comes and says who are you mother to this body not to the soul you don't have to do all this nonsense first of all you don't understand anything right but I know there are some students in our institution they go home and give ghana lectures to their parents what is this maya what is this running behind what is the next day they want new shoes and new t-shirt this I have seen this suddenly reading up some scriptures and believing that you'll become a guani.
You become a guani on on your own.
Self-declared ghani. That doesn't work.
So you don't have to lecture anybody. In fact, the more ghana you have, the less you will talk. The less you would want to show off that you know all these things. They keep the ghana to themselves.
It is said in our scripture which means this is a very secretive knowledge. Vanta is a secret. Today is there in all books and videos and everything else. That's a different matter. But otherwise it was not accessible to all. It was given to only few people. Who are those? It is said it was taught in the old times in ancient times only to the deserving ones. Who are the deserving ones?
It should not be taught to people who are not of peaceful deinor. Who is not at peace? Who is desirous of world? Who is desirous and greedy and wants this want that? He's not at peace. Don't teach such people who are desirous of the world. Then who does should not you teach autraaya who is not your own child your own progeny because you don't know the person. Where does he come from?
What is his background? What are his kmas? What are his samscaras? You don't know anything. Your son at least you know whether he's useful or useless. The other person's son you cannot declare.
So that is why you should not teach to anybody other than your children. It's the third. If you want to teach another child, he should become your shisha.
So shisha can be taught. But who is the shisha? Again he has to qualify to become a shisha. Not by writing an entrance exam and an interview. They give tapsa brahmachara and shreddha.
These are the three qualities given to a shisha. Pipalada tells this in prashnopishad to these four boys who come saying I want to learn vdanta. He says first one year just practice tapus brahmachara and shreddha. Tapus means sincere penance austerities. Now whatever I want eat I'll eat whatever I want I will do. Wherever I want I will go but I want brahmaga. Not possible austerities you perform your yagnas your homas and all the other rituals and disciplines of student life. Then he says brahmachara abstinence.
You can't be desirous of the world of the pleasures and the comforts. Your mind should be focused on that God and your do goal. Then Shadha you should have develop great faith in our guru and the scriptures without faith if you come even if I tell you nothing will happen. So develop all these you become like the dry wood samit pani remember dry wood your mind should become so dry that guru lights one spark and it catches fire. Wet wood wouldn't catch fire. So that kind of qualifications were there for somebody to even come to a guru and learn and gurus would test them like anything they would just pass on this knowledge. So you are getting this because it's a part of your syllabus and things like that whether you want it or not you listen to it but just because you listen to something and you understood something of your own and maybe a few days you are feeling very nice and elevated don't go and lecture others. This is a bad habit. Many people after those sessions suddenly became gurus. I've seen a lot of them on YouTube now. They left the institution.
They thought they already know the wisdom and they started off their lectures and courses and things like that. And lot of people for became their followers also. Good for them. I'm not saying it's not. But have you assimilated, understood, experienced it?
See, if you are repeating like a parrot from a book, believe you me, AI is doing a phenomenal job of it. Somebody sent me a samskit AI and they sent me the sound of the chanting so perfect in samskritum.
It sounds like some real weather where the pundits are chanting. It won't make a mistake also anywhere because it is fed with the whatever the knowledge and algorithms. So it is not about transferring knowledge. It it is about transferring the learner and that is a huge difference between the two.
Transferring knowledge from one person to another is easy. That doesn't take much effort. Transforming the other person in the process is not easy.
That is why guru's job is very difficult job. That's why gurus are placed right on top. Why? Because their job is to transform people not just give knowledge not just inform people. Transform people and transform means they should change form should change into something else irreversibly.
That's not easy. You see how my how am I struggling? I taught all this during covid and everybody I thought oh everybody has learned it now all are brahmagyanis and half of them started thinking also they are brahmaganis. 5 years down the line all those knowledge is gone cuz we got so busy with all the other things suddenly is there somewhere in the backside of a head but it is not applied every time egos rise clashes rise some small small skirmishes come then we have this issues then emotional all traumas don't I see all that which means what knowledge was only reaching you but it was not transforming you maybe to some extent I'm not saying from A to B you have come for sure but to go to Z it's a still long way and unless every day we listen to this and practice you will not reach anywhere you know you'll keep going in circles that is what dandrana that our scriptures is going round and round and thinking we are progressing we don't progress if you don't practice by now five years of continuous discourses and being in this asham being doing all these things everybody should have been like perfect sitta nothing moves you nothing shakes you nothing disturbs you no desires as everybody's pure selfless not a single desire in anybody's mind not doership not enjoyership it should have become like that but this much effort it takes giving you a practical like not just teaching you theory giving you a practical lab to work out all those experiments despite that if it's taking so much effort so you can imagine the job of a guru has to be at it be at it be at it but I don't want to give a halfway through I want to see that transformation so that is the best guru dakina nobody else can pay for guru for what he is except by following and practicing and experiencing them. Next loca is on page number 67 1871.
In similar tone it says now to attain the self what you have to do you have to have a process you need to have detachment some you have to do give up all the worldly ideas give up the family give up all kinds of food habits give up all kinds of other lifestyle things and then shamopi develop constraint restraint shama and And all those things after you do only you are able to reach that state. That is true. But once you are in this state where pure eulgence of knowledge comes out of you, you are like self-effulgent in that knowledge. Once you reach that state, whatever you see, you don't see it. Like the worldly attractions and desires and you know, you don't see it anymore. It doesn't draw your attention. It doesn't attract you. So it's like the objects are there in front of you. Everything is there but you do not see it as if it's just passing in front of your eyes and nothing happens to you. That is the idea. Who is that such a person in whom the knowledge is shining forth is pure sudha purana is comes out on its own selfgent.
So what happens? All the world does not exist for such a person. You bring anything, put gold in front of him, put mud in front of him, he's the same for it. Put a beautiful woman in front of you and try to attract, doesn't matter to him. Put a handsome man in front of her, doesn't matter. Put any position, power, authority, tempt them with any of these things, doesn't matter. See, Buddha was only sedhara. He was going through his no spiritual austerities to attain the truth. He was distracted by so many things. First all these damsels and you know the good things of life which he had to refuse. Then the demons and the animals and the threats of the evil forces that also you have to overcome. So it's not easy. One has to go through the process. Don't misinterpret the shloka as what is the need for the shloka. Second line says what is the need for a process? What is the need for detachment? What is the need for sacrifices? What is the need for constraints and restraints and control? It's for those who have already become self-effulent. Not for everybody.
So please don't go and read up saying that ashakra says there's no need for any practice spiritual practice. There's no need for making any sacrifices.
There's no need for any control and restraint because we are supposed to be at yes but do you know that you are atman? Do you realize it? No. You need still a process of unbecoming. You need a lecture on astravikra. You need some controls and some sacrifices which is going to take you over towards that. So that is the idea of these people. For them no rules apply. They're beyond rules. Sometimes people tell us also tell me also. So you are not doing any daily anustana and all that stuff. I said I don't know of any anust because I'm not trained that way. All the other matadipaties they have anushanas morning 4:00 you know some of these are very very difficult they bathe four times a day first thing in the morning is 3:30 they are first puja second puja is at some 9:00 third puja it's some afternoon 2:30 3 evening puja is some 7:00 again there is last puja at 10:00 I said if I have to do this many puja who's going to run the place I am tasked with different set of responsibilities I'm not the anushana swami g so Sometimes I feel embarrassed when I go there because they are so ritualistic you know everything has to be 1 2 3 4 like that I don't know any of these processes I learned taught myself because now we have a ved partal and all I thought I better know what is acham what is all these other things because I I had no clue we were not trained this way but we were trained in doing service which again intrigues those Swami G's who do not do service they say what is they feel what is the need why you are touching money is you know prohibited in sasa why you meeting women, women is prohibited in syasa. All kinds of questions. Where are the brahinss in your ashram? Why are you be dealing with others who are non brah? All kinds of things. Some people are like that. But I tell them that is not my part. I mean I'm you can say it's an unconventional uh way of doing things. But we are trying to get the essence right. Right.
Rituals are important. I'm not saying otherwise why we will put away the parala. Choices are important. Right.
People should be taught the right way of doing things. But more than that, the spiritual is important to me. And that does not necessarily need you to be born in a certain way, learning certain rituals, do it by all means. If it you like it, you have inclination towards it, do it. I'm not saying don't do it.
But that's not the most important thing.
Especially once you have realized you don't need any of these rules. You don't need rules to help you anymore because you are beyond rules. So sometimes these guanis behave very radically, very eccentric, eccentric. So people will think but what is this nonsense? He doesn't follow himself and he's telling us all to follow. This is the kind of fools think like that. That's why I got this very nice word called fools from mother wada. She tell don't worry they are fools. Don't advise them. Don't argue with them. It has relieved me of all my tensions other people. Why you have to live like this? Everybody lives in one room apartment. You have a bangalow for yourself. We are all going in public transport. You have a car to yourself. We are all flying economy.
yours flying business.
What kind of guru? What kind of example you are? They keep torturing me like this with messages every now and then.
Some new people join. No, every now and then. So they look at all these things and they interpret themselves. Why are you wearing silks? You should wear cotton. All kinds of questions. So my whole thing to them is that my mother came and told don't worry don't listen to all that. I'm very happy now. No, I don't listen to any of those things because they don't understand people Ghanianis are slightly eccentric because they are in different league. See great scientists, great artists, they're all slightly eccentric. That eccentricity comes from their their abandon that wild carefree abandon of the world. They are themselves. They are not dependent on the world. They don't have to pretend.
They don't have to be nice to people to survive. They just themselves. Mast mahola is the Hindi word for that. free and happy within themselves. They don't care a damn as they say. But then I can't be like that because I also have a public image and all that. So I manage but that abandoned they live in that abandon. It's very beautiful for them.
There was a Swami G who used to be living in a place called Udugi near Gulberga our campus. I believe that some point of time an Abduta came to that village very very known ADA. So this man became he used to roam naked never wear wore a thing in his life and the village people had given up on him saying he's like that he's a mad cap leave him alone to his devices but one day he started searching for some cloth to tie around his waist. So everybody was surprised know this man doesn't listen to anybody walks in out without care and today he's trying to tie a copen cloth along around his waist. So he collected some rags tied it around his waist and was waiting. So everybody was surprised how he had bath today he tied a copen cloth he seems to be behaving finally some sense they thought but no what happened was that big aud swami g was coming and was planning to stay there a night halt before he leaves or two nights this man became very interested in serving him so he would go diligently morning he'll wake up earlier than him have bath bring his food clean his place and serve him for those days and everybody was surprised and after the swami g left the avad swami g left he removed the cloth and threw it again and became his old self. So everybody was surprised. What is this mad cap again? You know we thought he has improved in life. He's gone back the same old terrible rustic ways. Then somebody approached him and asked him why did you tie the cloth in front of him while you are roaming naked in front of us? He said do we feel ashamed in front of animals?
First time a human being had come so had to behave.
You're all animals.
What more should I respect that? Why should I be ashamed? Animals roam naked.
I I'm not bothered about you people.
Last time there is a real human being with some sense came into the village. I had to behave myself. So that is the way these guanis are. Rules don't apply to them. They're beyond the rules. At the same time, we have only a guanihas.
Only another guani knows the ways of a guani. Nobody else. Next is 1872 page number 70. It goes similar tone. The one who he sees everything infinite self only.
Everything is that self which is now manifesting as so many things around him. And this knowledge purah height automatically happens to him. That's why when others see ornaments he sees gold and he doesn't see any differences. The idea is that such a persona he doesn't see this physical world. He doesn't see means he doesn't appreciate the differences in the physical world.
We only go by the physical difference.
Who is smart? Who is ugly? Who is beautiful? Who is rich? Who is poor? Who is tall? Who is short? We only are stuck in that. He sees beyond that. He sees everything as the same atman manifesting as so many forms and names.
There's only one which becomes many.
That is how he looks at the whole thing.
So he's not bothered. He doesn't see the differences. For such a person, where is the bondage?
Where is the freedom? When he's not bound, what are you freeing him from?
Bondage comes when you are attached to something. For him, everything is the same. So how can he get attached to one and not be attached to another same to all some other so there's no bondage no liberation also good riddance this liberation has become a huge thing called for liberation we do all kinds of things puja aa yaga tapas nothing needed because he doesn't see the difference so harsha where is this sense of joy exhilaration when you achieve something even samadhi doesn't appeal to him and visha where is the sorrow for such a person no duality exists because he sees only one says, "For such a person where is moa, where is sha, where is attachment, where is sorrow, who the one who sees only one and not two.
For such a person only one, imagine a dog room full of mirrors. That is the story, right? A dog goes into the mirror and what does he do? It barks. barks and barks and barks till he you know almost kills himself barking because he thinks so many dogs are barking at it. So B box but a man goes inside the room of mirrors smiles. Oh all this is me. All this is me.
There's a I don't know who wrote this but line. It says in this mirror room of mirrors in this palace of mirrors whom should I throw stone at?
Which mirror? Because everything looks like me. Everybody seems like me. That is the truth. That is how the vision of the guani is. They look at the whole world as a parallel of mirrors. They see their reflection in everything and everyone. So how can they hate anybody?
How can they get excited? How they can they become sad? None of these things appeal to the guani. Look at that vision and that freedom that comes with the vision. We are swinging one day happy, one day sad, one day excited, one day depressed, one day trying to getting attached, one day trying to detach from what we have got attached to. It goes on and on and on relentless, endless in a loop. The only way out of it is develop that equal vision. How do you develop the equal vision? Become a guani. From in whom that vision that knowledge happens. Who becomes the guani? Whom the ghana chooses to reveal? Whom does the ghana the self chooses to reveal? The one who is ready for it. Who is ready for it? The one who is desireless.
Look at the whole thing goes back. One word of our scripture is desirelessness.
Get that right. Everything goes right.
But how to become desireless? This is my my people, my family, my thing, my assets, my country, my everything stops there. The buck stops there. But if you can't be desireless, Ghana won't happen to you. You try and as you may. You try your tapas. You try hanging upside down.
You do anything. Hold your breath. It's not going to happen to you. Temporary reliefs may happen. But permanent wisdom won't happen. Why? Because you have not become desireless. So if after 5 years of COVID, if it has not happened to you after listening to all the scriptures, that's why he says by just intelligence and by listening to it several times, you don't get it.
The one who it chooses to reveal itself to to such a person only. This atman gets to be known. But who is this person? Selfless, desireless person. So ultimately we boil down and go back again and again to the same old word that we are all very familiar with.
Desirelessness, selflessness.
So this is what these people are because they are selfless. They don't see differences. So there's no bondage, no liberation, no happiness, no sorrow.
They're always in a steady state of mind. Right? But if they're engaging in the world obviously some fluctuations happen but very quickly it settles.
Those are like waves on the surface deep inside they are very peaceful they're calm they're very composed. So that is the idea of these guanis. So think of it. Next sloka is 73 page number 72. It says quality of the same.
How long is this sanssara existing for such a person? Buddhi paranta till his mind is there samsara is there or once he develops the right buddhi right intelligence the samsara also does not have any effect on him it becomes limited parantam is limited to an extent only the samsara exists for him to an extent only okay he's hungry he'll eat something he's cold he'll wears something he has to live he have a roof over his head he will have a work to do and things like that basics he lives in the world but only in a limited way till when till his mind is there to engage when he draws the mind that also does not exist. So what happens because mayamatum he knows all these illusion why engage with this world unnecessarily that's why I said don't talk unnecessarily don't meet people unnecessarily don't do things unnecessarily if it if it's not leading you to your wisdom and you know leading you to freedom don't engage with it do I buy this new thing is it going to lead you to freedom are you going to be attached to it yes I'll be attached to it then don't do this you can have it but you cannot be attached to it that is buddhip sansare his int intelligence. He discriminates and his samsara gets limited to only so much which is absolute bare necessity.
Beyond that he's not interested. Flood his cupboards with clothes. He will still pick up one of them and he won't bother. Give him as much gold and thing he will keep it aside because he's not interested in it. For him the same basics are enough. Basics are enough.
That is how they live. So samsara has limited influence on such a person. It has its limitations because he sees everything as maya and doesn't run behind anything.
Then what happen? How is his nature near mamo? He's detached. Mamuta is not there. The attachment is not there.
Nirhankara, no ego because he doesn't think he's the doer, he's the enjoyer, he's the amasser, he's the accumulator, he's the achiever. None of this occurs to him. When does ego come to us? When we have a little achievement and little accumulation one extra nice pen then you want to put it on the pocket broaden your chest and strut around so everybody sees Bhagan used to tell a story of an old woman putarti she bought gold uh you know kangan what you call bangles and then she wanted everybody to see that her bangles are new but nobody was looking at her she was very depressed I bought new bangles and nobody see the same depression Instagram likes and all that.
Nobody likes your Instagram reel. You're in depression.
So she was going around going around like this like nobody was seeing. Then she what she did she do? She put she she wanted the attention. So she burned her own hut. When she burned the hut everybody came running what's going on?
Are you okay? She was outside and then she started dangling her bangles to show that oh my heart my heart is getting burnt.
Whole village gathered to see the burning hut but she was trying to show off her mangoes. A little possession leads to so much ego like the commandaloo of the swami g the story.
Imagine when you have these possessions which you have earned it by all efforts and your knowledge and your skills and talent. How much more ego is that? If somebody gives you at least ego is less.
That's why big shavi that's why sasis would beg and eat because if they earned it and eaten it there'll be ego. If they had paid for it, they'll be ego. But if you got it, just accept it. That is why they were not allowed to cook for themselves or hold anything with them.
No pockets, nothing. Because they're not supposed to like that. That was the idea of syasa. So these people are not sasis who have given up everything, don't have pockets. No, they are mentally totally detached. They might be the richest billionaire trillionaires on earth. Gajjanaka was super rich but no interest in any of these richness. It is there.
It is there but they are not interested.
Many people I meet sometimes they are so good you know they are wealthy people but the lifestyle is so simple but sometimes that is also deceptive because sometimes they want to show off that they're very simple people but inside they have lots you know touch their wealth and they'll jump on you. So like that there are people of all kinds but these people are truly sincerely unattached no ego nishka no desire back to the same one word no desire and sh Buddha buddha means guani and shbate means they are eulgent they they're fulfilled means beauty their grandeier so their grandeier comes not from all these external attachments but simply by being who they are they're refulgent they're glowing they're happy, the joyful, not because of the possessions because they are who they are.
Developing that kind of detachment and egolessness is a is a is a big task and desirelessness. But I keep telling see in this place is it it is very easy very very easy comparatively why because you your needs are very less you don't need too much whatever you know it has been provided for I need to have my own house not needed quarters are there I need to have my own car not needed vehicles are there I need to have my own food not necessary cantens are there I need to have my own clothing not necessary uniforms are there I need to have my own job as I please not necessary There are service opportunities.
I need to do service in this way. Not necessary. Whatever is available, you do. I will start my own project. It mean under my own name. Not necessary.
There's enough projects here. Join any one of them. But still people are not happy. They want to have that identity and acknowledgement. I did this. I started it. I so that is where we get stuck. See if in this place if you cannot achieve what this ashtakra is asking then where will we achieve? In other places you have to get pay your own rents, get your own house, find your own car, transport, find your own clothes, buy it with your own money, pay for your own food.
Imagine how much more ego it will be so much more because I have worked outside right for some time. I've also earned money. I also have had possessions and I checked how much ego it brings. You upgrade your car from a small one to a sedan, ego goes up multiple times. If you buy a bigger flag from 1 BHK, you move into 2 BHK, your ego goes up disproportionately.
You're starting to wear branded clothes and watches and shoes and belts, your ego goes up.
Everything how you want to live in a certain way. One thing you purchase with so-called your own earned money, your ego will go up. Beg and take, what ego you'll have? Beggars cannot have ego.
This asham is like that. Yes, you are working, you are getting some salary as a part of that. I tell them take it as prasadam and many of the people even they return the salary back to us. They don't even keep it saying Swami G everything you are giving I am a bachelor after all what I what are my needs and why should I hold and hide you are there I'm dependent on God it's okay but I said no no for the sake of maintaining a some sense of you know equality you please to deal with it but don't keep spending unnecessarily you got salary you keep it you use it correctly and you don't need it it's accumulated give back to somebody who needs it more help someone that's all you need to do because your needs are all that I the way of life when you are totally dependent on God is something else. You ask me I can only tell you how amazing this life is. It is also hard work like everybody else but the rewards are disproportionately high. The freedom there's no fear where I am going to live what I'm going to eat tomorrow. One word just one word that I want to eat this. I know that every single household in this asham and even somebody who's watching me from Bangalore Hyderabad you'll send you want this ladu I'll ask for one I'll receive 100 because you're living a selfless life see where it takes you in Bangalore I have to go purchase a ladu and eat for myself today I don't have to do anything I just have to mention I feel like eating this everybody's ready to prepare I have to say no no no no don't don't take from others these boys struggle people keep sending ing gifts. I told what will I do this? I keep distributing it back with the fear that I hope it doesn't go back to the neighbor.
So I tell these boys please match these gifts to the I tell you this is half the work for them managing these things.
Without that they can do more work.
What I'm saying is that abundance follows those who are selfless and desireless. You have to experience that to believe in it. You if you don't even try then what do you know about it? Try it and see. But I know it doesn't fail.
It does much more than what you maybe there will be testing times in the beginning. Your convictions have to be tested. Your belief has to be tested.
But once you pass that test, abundance follows.
Abundance follows. And I have no shame on telling that everything that I have is given by somebody. None of it is my earning. I might be raising funds for the whole mission. That's a part of my duty. It is not something special I am doing. I've been tasked with that. So I'm going around raising funds, running the institutions for free, giving people what they require. But I don't feel I am giving and you better listen to me. No, that's a part of my job. Somebody else take this position tomorrow, he or she also will have to do the same thing without any ego. But what is that you are doing with all these things? You have to question yourself. I don't have to question you that ask yourself is it the right usage of our time, energy, resources where that wrong usage happens, a desire arises. A desire arises and then makes us do all kinds of things. So please be watchful because if you want to live a life like this where nothing affects you, you remain peaceful all the time and you are eulgent radiant with that joy of self then you have to get rid of your desires and possessions and attachments to the possessions. I'm not saying possession means just go and give off. No attachment to that. You should, you know, in your heart. If somebody takes it away from you, you should not cry.
You lose it, you should not cry. That's a test how attached you were. Many people say, "No, I'm not attached. It's all lying in the cupboard. I don't use it." But if it is gone out of the cupboard, then you know whether you're attached to it or not. That is the idea.
So you it's a very subtle thing. Please pay attention. 74 another very beautiful look and a subtle thought is embedded here. It says aam is imperishable. The one who has who is reached that state of imperishability mortality because body is perish but he doesn't identify with the body he identifies with the self which is imperishable. So he's imperishable then.
So all the all the sorrows are gone away. What is our biggest fear and sorrow that we'll die after having accumulated am wanting to enjoy suddenly we die. All this is gone. But this man is not bothered. Why? Because he's the self. He's not the body. So he's very clear. So he's a then so all these all these troubles and worries and fears are gone.
He sees everything as the self. Who? The money. Money means the one who is silent. Why is silent? Because he has no disturbances.
When do we speak? When a thought occurs, it translates into word. He has no thoughts. That's why he's silent. Such a silent, thoughtless, desireless person.
He's immortal already and he has no fears, no anxiety. All sapas are gone.
For such a person quidy, where is the need for knowledge? Why should he read scriptures? Then why this need for the world? He doesn't need the world. World needs him. He doesn't need the world.
Where is the need for this deha? Body also he doesn't need. Body may need him because that needs to do so many things for the world. He is not attached to his body. And then how he thinks body I am the body or body is mine. Mamedi both do not exist for such a person. See it has gone one notch above know the example I am not the book the book is mine I am not the body the body is mine to that extent we have learned earlier even that we don't understand but at least we know he says even mind does not exist to this person I am not the body correct you understood but body is mind no that also because body is also illusion what is there to get attached to so for such a person this idea does not exist and this word one that I want to really work on his I and mine is gone. That is or miha mama mama that also gone. Then vidya what is the vidya? He says no need for any spiritual knowledge because we all think by attaining some reading some of scriptures attaining spiritual knowledge we will become wiser. But such a person who has become desireless for such a person there is no need for all these things. That's why The one has read books and books and books and not attained any wisdom only information loaded overloaded. But the one who has attained love, desireless love, doesn't need anything. He is pandit. He is the guani. He is the wise person. So that is the idea. Our scriptures have two kinds of vidya.
Vidya and avidya, right? We say avidya means all worldly things.
Do rituals, you'll attain heaven. do that homa you'll attain these results.
So people keep doing ritual soma everything for the sake of that they are very knowledgeable people they remember all the mantras locas the ritual the process they never forgotten any of this but does it lead them to self no maybe it leads them to heaven and higher locas or whatever else the palace of those things are that is called avidya in our scriptures right what is vidya vidya is read adita forget a bi forget karma read adita and you will attain he says that also is a foolishness In fact has a shloka which says there are two parts avidya and vidya. People of a vidya go to dark places. It means they're ignorant people. But people who think I know atmaagan adwita is better than bi.
They are going to darker places.
It is worseer place because they going with this foolish arrogance and ignorance that this is the way to go.
The way to god is not outside. That is the whole thing.
Way to go is inside. And to go inside you don't need rituals. But why do we do rituals still? To bring concentration of mind to turn it inward slowly because it's always running outside and things like that. But those who do all kinds of rituals you know this bali tantric all this stuff thinking through that they'll attain God. Maybe there is a path but there is easier path which is simply be desireless. Desire for moka you drop it then and there you become god. Drop all desires is the whole idea. The moment you drop desire then says concluding he says such a person becomes immortal and Brahman then and there who has finished with all his desires. Not that fulfilled all the desires. No desires left in him.
Fulfilling desires is never possible.
You start one another comes another another comes. That is not how they become Brahman. They become Brahman because they don't entertain any desires. They are dependent on God. They are free. Whatever comes by will of God, fine. Doesn't come also fine.
to be a monk or I decided to be the person of God. One day I'll ride an elephant, another day horse, third day I have to walk barefoot. So be it. That is the idea of these people. 1875 page number 77 which says this is dedicated to all the fools. this loca specifically because what happened the previous loca says where is the need of sacrifice where is the need of ritual where is the need of discipline where is the need of restraint these people are free as they are so fool will think oh so I also need need to do all these things he doesn't do any anushana I also don't need to do anushana he doesn't like shankara was going once and he was so so very thirsty so he asked was passing by a village wine shop so he asked for something to drink they gave him the wine he drank it without realizing and then kept on walking.
Then shishas thought oh he can drink we also can drink. So they drank the wine and all collapsed over there.
Idea is that these people are at another level. You can't compare yourself with them. So nodini these actions like nodha means restraint control means all kinds of other spiritual rituals that teaches you to be disciplined on the spiritual path.
The jaradhira means the one who is dull-headed, dull-witted fool. If he gives up these activities of practices because the shavakra says don't not required. If he also thinks I also reached and I'll give it up then what happens? Manoratan palapancha manoratan means all kinds of desires. Praalapan means silly petty ugly stupid desires.
He'll get into those. How soon?
Immediately immediately he'll fall into those bad ways because he has given up discipline.
Why? Because he thought my guru does not follow this discipline. Why should I follow?
You're not the guru. You not reached there yet. Once you reach there doesn't matter what car you drive, which house you live in, what clothes you wear, what food you eat. None of this matters. I was reading of someone long back. I had a lot of interest in these kapalikas and all. Kapalikas are these tantrics. So I used to think what do they do all day?
How they sit in shamashana all night they eat from raw flesh from the dead bodies. What kind of life that is is ugly. But they live like that. So there's a story in which one kapalika is there. He gets some raw flesh from the one dead body which is floating in the river Ganges. He's in Himalayas. So he's hungry. He comes down to look for dead bodies because he can only eat dead flesh. Then he doesn't kill. They don't kill any by the way. They only eat what is already dead. So he couldn't find anything. He sees a dead body floating because many times in the old times people will leave the dead people in the rivers to float by so that animals eat it or whoever needs it. So he he somehow catches all the dead body and draws some flesh from it and puts it in a pot and is boiling it to eat. Just then some normal people you know they're passing by. They saw this kapalika is ugly. He's eating the dead bodies of people and things like that. So they one of them out of curiosity approaches him and says how can you eat these things you know terrible things he said you also eat if you want taste and see it is very tasty.
So this man said no no no I can't eat this. He said try try like that. He puts his hand inside the pot and takes out and that's a gulab jamun.
This man sees is a gulab jamun not a piece of flesh. They at another level is what I'm saying. He may still eat flesh and still give you gulab jamun out of it. You can't copy their ways and think you have already become that. The fools they try to copy them. Hanzuki chal akirula chal is one adage which says no the crow tried to become the swan and forgot how to be a crow also now never became a swan that's a different story oh forgot to be a crow too so people are like that foolish people look at these people and say they don't wear clothes I also would not wear they don't but they do so many other things which you cannot do they get all the respect so yesterday also the evil was saying no as a guru do why you gurus in India and all these People are woripped in a certain way, right? Feet are washed, flowers are offered. Why is all these kinds of things are necessary at all? Gurus don't need it. By somebody not doing it, they're not losing anything if they're real gurus. I mean, now some people need it very badly. That's a different matter, not me. So what happens then?
Why do they need all this things? It's for the others to do. Others like to worship the guru. You know gurus used to walk in hot sun and come without you know now of course it's comfortable but in those days walk in hot sun barefoot once they come to the home first thing you should do is to wash their feet right and I realize what it is because once I gone to stringeri and whole afternoon I was walking barefoot and I'm not used to walking barefoot now because everywhere there are carpets or shoes or you know in the car so I was walking it was hard concrete so between this guru g's mah jagatguru's place to the temple it's All hard floor without chapel you're walking up and down they are used to it I'm not used to after some time my feet started hurting it was hot also the floor was so I was really looking for some peace but nothing was there any after that we left and we reached this house of one of the pundits there one of the priests he had invited us to his house so they come for these dasharayas and all so I just visited on the way the moment I entered the house they just poured cold water on my feet I tell you the relief I felt I told all the blessings to you both husband and I I was suffering with that burnt feet so long. The moment they poured cold water, I felt so relieved. Then I realized why guru's feet were washed. It was meant for a reason. It was not to show off.
It was meant as a part of our way to ease the guru's suffering who has come walking in hot sun. Today it is different. But I felt the relief that day. I the moment I felt relief, I feel like I felt like blessing them. They were just doing it ritualistically. But the relief that I felt really made made my heart melt. I was suffering for last couple of hours with dry foot and burnt souls. But they helped me. So that is the idea. So I was telling the gurus don't need all these things. Now just because gurus are getting their feet washed, you also demand wash my feet also. It doesn't work.
People should come on their own feel respect for you and do things for you.
You don't demand these things. Right? So like that these fools don't understand.
They look at these guru and say he doesn't do this I'll also not do it. But they are at different level. Bhagan used to give this example when the queen uh now she's no more but when the queen would come passing through the roads of London all signals are open. The whole road is emptied. Her car passes first.
Then somebody says she doesn't follow traffic rule. Why should I follow traffic rule?
It rule that rule does not apply to the queen. You are not the queen. She's also citizen. First citizen I understand. But she's the queen. You are an ordinary person. You have not yet become the queen. So for rules apply on you. So these people sometimes they look at these other guan say no rules apply to me and they give up rules. What happens next moment? They fall into silly petty desires and cause their ruin. And how soon they fall into it? The moment they give up the discipline they fall into it. It's not after 10 days they will slowly degrade and slowly you know slide into it. No they'll immediately go fall into those bad ways. Why? Because they've given up the discipline. Next one it says 76. Again dedicated to fools also which says mandaha means fools dwitted ones even if they listen to all the scriptural truths they understand nothingu means that supreme truth they won't be able to give up their foolishness their stupidity how many ever times you tell them they won't understand a word because they are fools. They're dulled. Their desire is they're attached. They won't understand.
Then though outside they may look very peaceful you know vibi white dress all that outside they look like embodiment of peace inside the desires of things. Nobody did zam to me today. Nobody gave me a seat to sit.
Nobody acknowledged that I am also in the room. Nobody came and asked me how I am. You know who I am. How old I am? How many years I have been a devotey? How many? All these are inside going on outside because they have no choice.
They try to behave peaceful. Who are these mandaha fools? Vimuratam. They cannot give up their stupidity. So they listen to scriptures as if they're really understanding. They shake heads, take notes, but at the end they don't do understand anything.
That is the idea. Ramayan, Suli, Ram Khan, sidari, they don't understand anything. No one used to give a nice story. You know a lady goes to a satsang bhagawatam satsang and then listens to the whole story of Krishna and shedding tears continuously copious tears sitting right in the front row. So this Bhagavatar who is telling the story becomes very intrigued. He says never in any of my praachas and discourses that somebody shed so many tears for Krishna. What a wonderful devotey I have found first time in my all. So he becomes very elated and goes and asks this old mother. Mother, you were shedding tears all throughout. So much devotion in your heart that it moved you to tears. He said, "No, no, no. The book that you're using, you are bound it with a thread, black thread. It reminded me of my late husband who used to tied it around his waist, a similar thread, malt they call it.
That is what I was watching. Oh, that black thread is just like my husband's thread." I was crying remembering my husband not listening to your bhagat.
So people are like that. Those foolish people cannot give their give up their foolish ways. They listen to me. I can tell them a hundred times. Do this. This is right. This is right. This is how it should be done. They would not change.
They'll go back and do the same thing.
Ki pooch you know that story. You bury the tail of the dog the curved crooked tail in the ground for 10 years. Pull it out it'll be the same. So their foolishness because they're desirous.
They'll not give up desires. They look very sophisticated, very complicated, very you know highprofiled spiritualists outside only. Inside they're so desirous, so so very craving for all these petty things that they can never get out of it. That's why there are various ways you know I call utamadikiari the best devotees or best disciples those you don't have to tell them before you open your mouth they understand. They're ready like drywood catches fire. Next madyicari who are average students like in any class also.
Yeah. You explain to them they'll do put some effort they'll understand. Then Adamadikari whatever you tell them don't understand.
Repeat and repeat and re repeat doesn't matter. They nothing will go inside.
They're like the upside down parts.
Nothing goes inside. Then I have added these are three shankarachaya says I have added I have one more category of disciples which shankara did not have I call adhamaikari then the fourth category vers whatever you tell they understand it will first is doesn't need explanation understands it second need some expert understand third one whatever you do doesn't understand fourth whatever you tell understand it the other way are also there they'll totally understand it the other So people are like that. What can you do about them?
All kinds of people exist. So the the guru is very happy. He gets the best student. Any teacher is very happy. Gets a sincere best student. One word he understands because he's ready. He's desirous of wisdom not desirous of the world. So that is the idea that outside we may appear to be spiritual and desireless but inside we are. So Bhagat Gita has a beautiful shloka which says that When your desires do go away, it's not it's mentioned in explained somewhere but what he says how fools what they do they try to withdraw themselves from the external stimuluses by starving themselves like you are craving for a food. What is the way to get over that craving?
Stop eating. That is their methods.
But that is only temporary. The desire for eating is still there in you.
Maybe today you will temporarily you know stop yourself from eating. But have you got gotten over the desire for it?
No. So when does the desire get away?
When you realize the self only all the desires are uprooted from the root they go away. But till you realize the self desires. Now you'll say what comes first? Desirelessness comes first or realization comes first.
Whichever way you start you'll reach the same place. Like you draw this curtain, both the curtains move together.
Desirelessness, realization of the self.
The more desireless you are, the closer to self you become. The closer to self you are, the more desirous you become.
It's like self perpetuating, self-fulfilling.
It will help the put efforts to be desireless, your purity increases. Your realization of the cells become stronger.
And when your realization of self becomes stronger, you are able to become more desireless.
So you this is the process. This is the process. So do that is what this sloka is telling. Acting from the outside is very easy. That's why I'm not at all for changing your garments and looks and you know things like that. Not necessary at all. Not necessary. That doesn't lead you. In fact, that will lead you to some kind of ego that I have done all these things. People write to me I have served you. I have done I have made sacrifices made donations. Why am I suffering? As if all those was done as a payment, prepayment plan towards reduction and removal of sufferings. No, it was not true. You'll go through your karma. I told I'm not going to do anything with your karma except give you the strength to go through it.
That's all I can teach you. No, no, but you canceled somebody's cancer. What about my cancer? I said death cancer was canceled not because of my wish. It was divinely ordained. some good karma was there that helped the person the person's faith and his old good karmmas everything comes together no so you don't have the power to cancel now until I never had a power before I don't have power now also I am only doing what divine inspires me to do or say if the divine inspires that the person's problem should be solved a word comes out of my mouth it fulfills itself because the divine has spoken if it's not coming out of my mouth you want to somehow extract it from me a blessing or a promise it won't come out and even if I namesake I tell you okay everything be all right it won't be all right because it's not coming from the heart you see Michael Jackson I have to feel it I don't feel it I cannot say it I cannot sing it that's how it is but sometimes people pester me one mail I don't reply they'll send another one that I block they'll send me from a new email id it goes on they think that ask ask till you get it so they keep bothering me then My reply, see there's no point in knocking on my door, wrong door.
You set your karma, learn to accept it, then God will make it easy for you.
Maybe you'll still go through that, but you'll not feel it. You'll not suffer it. That gurus can do. And yes, once in a while miracles can happen. But you know what? All the devotees have got spoiled in a way because here miracles were so common place. Especially the whole thing around putat is about miracles. He's a miracle man. He'll solve your problems. He'll he did that not did that doesn't matter but the stories go around and now everybody goes with the same expectation and desire so there is no all the artisatis come to gods and gurus to solve that problem I understand that is important but what I am looking for is real ghanis okay some problem is there we'll solve not there we will tell you how to deal with it but beyond that seek the higher things right problems are always there she Rama had problem Krishna had problem Jesus had problem Buddha had problem Everybody all great ones had problem. They didn't go and ask solve my problem then I will start on the spiritual path. They started on the spiritual path and slowly realized that their problems are no more a problem. They have grown out of it.
They have become more capable of handling them. So those problems don't feel like problems anymore. That is how you evolve spiritually. The next loca is 77 on page number 80. He says very nice. It says those whose kmas have melted away. Just now I told we have our karmmas that we have done in the past we are doing now and whatever doing now will also yield results in the future. Three types of karma sanja karma, parrada and agami.
They say sittita which are there we have done already yet to bear fruits. Pradha what we have done in the past now we are experiencing the results and agami what we are going to do in the future three kmas are there these people's karmmas are all gone they are not affected by this so due to the knowledge of the self ganat because of the knowledge of the self as if all their karmmas have melted away still they act in the world this is the beauty in the eyes of the world it appears they're so busy they're doing karmmas you know they're all the time engaged in action but their karmmas have all melted way even agami karma does not exist for them. They seem to be doing it's like puppet dancing. This puppet seem to be dancing but puppet is not dancing. Somebody is making the puppet dance. So puppet is not having any karma is the one who is making the puppet dance. The puppeteer is doing the things. So they are like that. Their kmas are not there. They're just behaving according to whatever has been destined. So they but people of the world look at them and say oh he's so busy he tells everybody to reduce work do this do that himself is so busy that is because they are not doing it so they can be can afford to be then for them such an opportunity never arise what opportunity they don't that they have to speak about that we are doing or they have to tell that I have done it such thing doesn't occur to these people they are very busy but they will never tell I did They will never say they will never talk about it because they never believe deep inside they know it is the divine which is doing everything. A group of people had come and here they were interviewing me sometime they said so Swami G tell me how do you do this all these things I told that day I was in a very spiritual mood you know I was not giving practical answers so I gave one philosophical answer you know what we are all instruments of god the divine does it through all of us we don't do anything they said so all this is done by the divine I'm just instrument don't be so modest please tell us how did you do it loca in the eyes of the world you were the doer all recordings say you spoke all these words 5 years ago I'm saying I don't I didn't speak I don't believe it yes the body spoke I didn't speak like that means the my mind or my jatma was not involved some paratma was working through us that understanding is so clear in the minds of these guanis therefore they will never take blame or praise for anything we want praise we don't want blame but doesn't work like that it comes like the two sides of the coin one day praise one another day blame yeah praise excites us but blame will also come along with it don't we can't run away from that but we want only praise you we don't want blame that not that is not possible how do ghis live I don't want praise I don't want blame both I don't want why should I take both it's done by somebody that understanding see hospitals there surgeons are there every time they do a surgery and if they think it's because of them if it succeeds they'll be elated if it doesn't they go into depressions that's why most of these doctors surgeons know not here but outside the drunkards many doctors are surgeons that I know of you They will not enter the theater before drinking. It's not allowed. It's against the law. But they have got used to it just to overcome that anxiety that what if it fails.
They go through all these kind of nonsense. But if you are not the doer, you're simply an instrument. These ideas don't occur to you. Oh, I did all wrong, everything went bad. Oh, I did it all right. Everything went so well. That doesn't occur to them. It just as it comes like a puppet they dancing to the tunes of the divine. So they never have this opportunity also.
They don't even get an opportunity to say yes I did it praise me yes I did it blame me they won't say many people say leaders are those who you know when something go wrong go right some things go right they praise the team when some things go wrong they take the blame at worldly level they do all these things but deep inside neither they take the praise nor the blame that is how they work but for the sake of showing a good example to those who are still on the other side of the line they do the right behavior that is very important says Bhagat Gita as the noble ones conduct themselves the ordinary ones follow them for their sake they act in the world otherwise deep inside they are untouched by all these things nor they will ever say it with their own mouth that I did it whether it is good or bad both ways they don't accept that is the idea of this guani imagine we who are karmach GVS who have to work every day in this world and good and bad results are bound to come from those works.
Every day either we are sad or happy, angry or frustrated or elated and excited. How long? How long are we have to swing like pendulums helplessly?
How long? Someday you have to stop this nonsense, right? Someday you have to break this cycle.
This is when you break the cycle. When you truly truly become a guani, all your karmmas, doerships are disappeared, dissolved and whatever you do is no more attributed to you. That karma does not attribute to you because it's done by the divine. Next loca 78 page number 81.
The one who is who has no disturbances within why he has no desires. Dhira he's a discriminating one. He can clearly see what is ego and what is not. Natunka he is fearless anxietyfree. Why? Because he is not doing a doer. Why should I worry? If something like something falls on your foot, you will cry with pain. If somebody fall something falls on your neighbor's foot, you don't feel the pain. Right? Likewise, they don't feel any fear and anxiety in whatever they're doing because they're not the doers. So, what happens for such a people? Where is that darkness of ignorance?
Where is the eulgence of knowledge?
Where is the loss to them or anything else for them? Nothing exists. Means no loss, no gain. Oh, all this mission is running very well. So many people are getting benefited. Very good. God's will. All are benefiting God's grace, God's love. Then what are you doing here? I'm just instrumenting God's will. Something went wrong. You know, something went wrong. These students didn't behave that way. God's will. What are you doing here? I'm just instrumenting. So what is your next step? Whatever is God's decides, discipline them, correct them, show them the way. Beyond that, we don't get involved. That is what he's saying. But while you are involved, while you're executing that God's will, obviously you'll also go through it. I said, "No, hot water passes through the pipe, you'll be make the pipe hot. Cold water passing through the pipe will make the pipe cold. But how long? Only till the water passes. Once the water has passed through the pipe, pipe becomes normal.
Likewise this guani mind also will apparently they say locadishta in the eyes of the worldly people they also seem to be people who are like them but these fools cannot understand their ways and they immediately go back to their original self they have no hatred for anybody they have no enemity they have love only at the end they have compassion only so that is how it works for them recently some children were misbehaving so I got very upset because they were on a senior class junior class I don't care they're learning they still have a long rope But old classes don't behave. I get very upset saying that you're already mature.
You're 18 19 years old. You don't know how to behave 7 8 years. So I got very upset. I told suspend all of them. All were suspended but only for a few days.
I wrote all of I wrote back to all of them saying okay now if you have learned your lessons and if you want to join please come and join because they had to write their exams, board exams and all that. I didn't want to disturb them beyond they came wrote the board exams as was he said but none of them means all of all of them only two three of them turned up and saying okay we will join back the rest did not join why they did not join their egos were hurt or they're angry with me or they were upset but am I upset some of them have joined anywhere they write to me I bless them saying good wherever you are please do well whatever you have learned from here practice it that's good enough for me so no expectations at the end of it. No, but during those days was I upset? Of course I was upset. Hot water was passing through the pipe real hot.
But after that normal that is how Ganis can live no they'll go through the motions of the world because that is how because they have decided to be an instrument they part of the process but at the end they are free. In the final analysis there's no karma attributed to them. Apparently in the eyes of the world they are acting so they should also puffers the consequences. No they are not acting from the point of view that I am the doer. They're really only acting actually that is how it should be. So for them this aulgence this darkness this bondage and freedom and loss and gains do not exist. So I lost those 10 students. No. Did I gain new set of students? No. They're doing what they're doing. Their destiny is taking them wherever it needs to take. As long as it was with me it was with me. That's how.
So this is how ghanis will think law so many devotees come so many devotees leave they get you know either bored or upset or they don't get the whatever they came with their expectations so what next all right I say now just now was telling yesterday you people these people were discussing something downstairs I heard Shiva Shivu and Nasimi is discussing I asked what were you discussing he said you're discussing so many devotees used to come earlier now they don't come then they themselves themselves their destiny it happens like that I said correct Their kmas are there. They bring them here. If they understand all the essence of what we are doing, they will not have any problem. But sometimes their minds and our minds don't match from the worldly point of view. They feel we are at fault or we do it things not right way. It is their problem.
What can we do about it? Leave it.
That's what I told. So these people still do what is right because that is what they have learned.
We'll take two more slokas.
79 84th page. It says he says, "What is the need for them to be courageous? Oh, be courageous. Be courageous. Problems are coming.
Challenges are coming. Have courage."
No, they're they're not bothered.
They're already courageous.
No. Have discrimination. Think properly.
Discriminate. They're spontaneous for them. Discrimination is natural for them. Courage is natural. Then where is the need for them to try? Don't get anxious. Don't worry. Don't fear.
You don't have to tell them because they don't understand these words anymore.
They've gone beyond it. People ask how do you get courage to do all these things? Don't get scared. Don't worry. I told when you speak like this only I get scared. Otherwise, I was good on my own.
You come and scare me. How? How? How?
How? How? I told I don't know how God knows when my medical college was starting the most scared was the man beside me he came schools are okay university is also okay hospital also is okay what is this new madness of medical college and I think people came and gave him unsolicited advice what is this Swami G trying to do I was still younger right I'm still now I'm 5 years older so I look a little more serious Actually during COVID I changed my attire because nobody was taking me seriously.
They thought who is this boy? What is he trying to do? Is he really a swami g like that? No signs of swami because they only judge you from outside. So I used to wear ka pajama and rum.
Everybody said this looks very ordinary.
Very ordinary. You don't they don't take me seriously. So then one day I changed to doi you know angavastram. Then one minister came he foraw me after many days he said this is correct. You look like a swami g. Now he said I thank you.
Now I'll continue.
So these were like those covid times even though I wearing angavasram still people were very scared. So he came and told me one day very very scared and very anxious. He told me no how are we going to do this medical college? How are we going to finish these are very big projects you know what I told him to his misery even I don't know I told him.
So he even scared what he also don't know. I thought at least somebody knows what's happening here. This is pure madness. I said I don't know but somebody knows. I know it will happen. I don't know how it will happen. That's all I know will happen. Right now I don't know how it will happen and someday or the other we'll reach there.
But what and what is the way? How do we go? Every day God will inspire us to do the next step and we will go and we have taken so many steps is five years. So now also if you ask me what is next five years like these people are asking what is your plan for the next 10 years, 15 years. I told I'm not sitting and making plans like this.
Whatever comes by divine will, we will do that. Nothing else. We are inspired.
We are as pura. We are inspired from inside and we do things. We are not planning advice. Of course, how to do it? We sit down, we plan, a surgery has to be planned, a construction has to be planned all the but what to be what has to be done it comes to us. That's why this mission is divine. See other people are perplexed. Even the big wigs corporate entros who everybody who had come CSR corporate they had run billions of dollars worth corporates from HCL to Tata TCS they all were here they say how I tell them it's divine because there is a divine will over here but divine will does not flow just like that unless there is a proper instrumentation that is how it works because divine is with everybody all are divine and why everybody is not able to do things because they're not pure or they're not selfless. They're not perfect instrument. That's why it is not happening. So divine is looking for instruments to do his work. Imagine if everybody turns into a good instrument of the divine, whole world will change in no time. That is the beauty of these ashtraas. Why you should do this? One day you become useful to God and God can do his work through you and so many people will learn, get inspired and they will also become divine like like lighting one lamp with another lamp and the whole world will be bright. That is the idea. You cannot you know as I said here it says that so such a person who is realized where is the need for him to be courageous people committed no be courageous things will happen I know it will happen how it will happen only I don't know but I don't need to know also god has a plan that is all I need to know that's all is my way not required have you thought about it is this going to be feasible financially this that I'm not thinking so much if this meant to happen now here I'll go ahead and we'll do that and it doesn't work out anyway I won't take the blame because it was not my idea but no you only came and told you only decided you think like that loca you are seeing it from the worldly point of view but I know inside my truth it is not me so I'm not going to take blame and therefore natanka I have no fear no anxiety that way if you see then their nature is that undescribable Brahman where the words don't breach their their nature cannot be described in words. You can't put it in words. Therea has been used in two ways. Yeah. The first word sabhawa is about the self, the nature of the self. Second time swabhava is their tendencies, the natural way of doing things. So the first swabhava is about those who realize the self. How can you describe their ways? How can you explain them?
Nothing. And then nishavasia who are not bound by the lower sabhava of doership and enjoyership they are yogi naha they are yogis their minds are merged in god's mind that is the yoga yoga is the yuja means to join to yog to connect their mind is connected to the divine so all the information comes from there simply passes through them that is the way they live that is why they're fearless niratanka they know don't need to be courageous they're they know god is doing and Then vivea is not required.
They don't have to think for themselves because somebody is thinking for them.
That is the idea. So they're free.
They're free. Imagine one thing you have to think. Just now somebody came. They have to buy a car. It seems so much of discussion to buy one car. Which color?
Which model? New car, secondhand car, b loan, not taking a loan. So much discussion.
Why? Because mind is at work.
Individuality is at work. If God's God is God was at work, no discussions at all. So that is how it happens. Bund minds are different so they think differently. We cannot change people's mind suddenly. But if everybody connects to the divine, all will get the same answers. That's why tell our palakas and all these youngsters see when you want to take a decision sit down and pray and pray sincerely that God inspire all of us to think right. Think as you would think and believe you me at the end of the discussion there will be only one answer. Majority will say is not necessary. Everybody will have the same answer if everybody's connected to God.
Majority does not mean right. Dyodhanas were much larger team than pandas. If you go by majority then korovas were right.
Not true. It's not about majority. You know then in trust and all there is a kora that you should have a quorum which means a group of people minimum set of people should agree to a thing to pass a resolution. If you are 10 trusties at least seven should agree or something like that or five should agree some rules based on trust. But to me all 10 should agree. How all 10 will agree?
Because all are thinking in the same way because divine is thinking through them.
So if there are clashes in any decision making in a group it means all are not connected to the divine. Maybe one or two are connected, others are not connected. So three will tell one answers or two will tell one others will tell other answers. But if you're really connected to the divine, all will give the same answer. So I tell the palakas and many times when they make mistakes, these youngsters, you know, it's only when doership got better of them. When they thought I'm a decision maker, I am also a good person. I am making the right decision. And in their limited understanding, unlimited future that they can see, they think that decision is logically right. But sometimes it turns out to be wrong because God sees far ahead of us, right?
Sometimes things change, rules change, policies change. So I always tell them, please sit down, pray, and after you pray sincerely and really honestly, let my ego not come in the way of God's will. Let me be a pure unsullied divine instrument in the hands of God. Let everything, my thought, word and actions be inspired. You think like that, pray and go. How can you not get the same answer?
You will. But it doesn't happen. That's why our trust runs very fast. Our decisions are super fast because we all think alike.
In other terms, one says let us start school. The other says why school not why not college. The third says why for boys? Why not for girls? The fifth says girls boys together. Seventh says no girls boys cannot be together.
Goes on and on. No decisions are made.
That's why billions of dollars are lying in so many foundations around the world.
They don't use it because they can't come to terms with each other. They can't decide together. So no decisions are made finally it just keeps lying there. This is why we are so fast because we are inspired by the divine.
That's why we are very fast. And one more shloka we'll take up next page.
Shloka number 80 which says which says this is another thing that we are very intrigued by. Oh we do all wrong things we'll go to nara. And then in gaudapurana the narka has various levels of torture you know like our police has no first degree second degree third degree like that they have torture you'll go to different types of hells and they you'll be done you'll be fried in oil and things like that but I said where is the body to fry body's left behind on the earth so how does it apply mind will be fried fry doesn't work I don't know but piranhas are like that that's why I don't teach puranas but they're all stories They have a significance because they're all symbolic.
Frying the body and mind is suffering within yourself and hull is here. Heaven is here. There's no separate hell and heaven. That is the idea. So, swara, nara, jan, mti, all these does not occur apply to them. I'll go to swara if I do good, I go to na if I do bad or I want jan mti. How do I attend jivan? They are already mt as you as they are because they have no desires. Then bhunatra yoga.
What to talk about these people? How much can we speak about them? Words are not there to describe their what is needed to be spoken about them who have yoga.
Yoga dishi means that special vision in which everything is illusory. They can see through the game of life. They can see through this drama of illusion. So they don't get attached. For them nothing exists. So they still act in the world for the sake of acting. God has given them a role. Like you're on a stage director has cast you in a role.
act. If he's given a villain's role, do a good job of it. If you do a hero's role, do a good job of it. They don't get attached to the roles. A director is given a role, we are doing our role.
Once the role is done, we'll throw the costume, go home. That's how they are.
The emotions of the stage do not really touch them inside. Only outside they're shedding tears and all that. Inside they are not moved. In the scene, there might be wife dying and the husband has to cry. That is the scene. Well, most husbands don't cry. But then if they have to cry then what happens? He'll cry. But is he real husband or is there she's a real wife? Is she really dying first of all? No. Then how could you such a good acting get all kinds of awards? Nandi film award, film fair award, Oscars for good acting only, right? And you all appreciate wonderful you made mood us all to tears while you are acting. Were you really affected?
Did you come what affected what come out of? I was not even moved by it. I was just acting. We become moved as audience. They are not loca worldly vision. We move oh how much suffering is there for the hero and the hero in but they are suffering. No that is the idea that dishi itself is different. See du dishi loca disha yoga disha in the previous loca yoka the worldly vision they get stuck with all this and believe everything is true and yoga sees everything as illusion nothing is true.
So doesn't get affected doesn't get attached. Look at the profoundity of these slokas. No dishes.
Swami used to say if you change your vision the world changes for you. Same world but two people look at it differently. A yogi sees everything sam brahma maya everything is illusurary or brahma whichever way a bohogi. Oh this is good that is bad. This is nice that is not nice. These are ours those are others goes on differentiating. So this is the idea. If you develop yoga dishi who is who it is going to benefit me the world no first you you will get out of this fluctuations every day swinging one day good day one day bad day how long how long will we go on like this is the question how long will we keep seeing the snake in the rope and getting scared and finding ways to get rid of the snake find a snake charmer find a snake catcher why you need to find there's no snake in the first place why are you struggling Where is the fear? Why need to have courage to deal with the snake? None of this is necessary. It's after all a rope. That is yoga dishi which sees the rope where locadishi sees the snake. And once that change happens in us and it's like a switch you know once it is switched on suddenly the whole vision of everything changes. Your attitude your understanding your way of life everything changes. And once you get that right, you don't have to struggle.
Next time even if you shake a bit, even if you like kind of deviate a bit, quickly you'll come back to that original thing. Quickly without any delay, very quickly you'll come back.
That is the idea. So yogis also will go through emotions. When Ramachak Krishna pronounc would cry Viveanandanda didn't turn up the next day he'll send everybody all emissaries please find out where is that boy why he has not come and once he didn't come for several days he became very angry upset he stopped eating then we would think he's really a yogi he's crying for one young boy you know how attached he is after all all these yoga and all his drama crying in front of mother kali and all for one boy a young boy is so attached and crying no but there's a greater relationship between he's training them to become a guru. He has a role to play. So that is the idea. His cries are not real cries.
Like he had another boy Ramakrishna Paramsa who was there with him from the day one little boy who was his personal servant servant. One day out of some desire because he had grown up he wanted to marry make money. He left. When he left Ramach Krishna became very distraught. He didn't sleep and eat for many days. And after certain number of days he slowly overcame that emotion.
But finally this boy returned. He appeared at the doorstep. And then his other people around him told Ramakrishna Ramakrishna Takur Maharaj this boy has come back. They thought he'll get very excited. Oh finally my boy has returned.
He said tell him to go back. He's done with that episode. That chapter is over.
So detached. Same person who did not sleep, eat, cry over that loss. Today when the buyer returns he's not even wanting to go over and see. So you don't know their ways. That's why Mira says no nobody understands me. I'm my only another person like me understand me.
The one who is really hurt or one who is wounded only will know the pain of another person who is wounded. Likewise only a diamond tear knows another diamond tear.
Or like they say a thief knows another thief.
Like that only godly people understand other godly people. The worldly people have loadi they will never be able to appreciate. They try to fit them into their molds. If he's a swami g if he's a guani if he's a brahagyani this is how behavior should be. I said no in the morning beard okaro rdra shamala long hair then you are a brahagyani. That is you even AI you search. Now they do know this chhat GPT creates all kinds of images. Our children are using all those. Put a chart GPT put out a picture of a brahagyani. Let us see what comes out of it. Can you try that?
I guarantee you something like that will come out. Definitely a butcher with a knife is not going to come out of the all I'm saying is that the mold the societal molds and expectations are like that around spirituality. But that is not always true. That is one way but that's not the only way. You can be spiritual as you are here and now. You don't have to change anything on the outside. Please wear good clothes, eat good food, but all in limitations, not with desire but for the sake of maintaining the body. That is given to everybody. Once in a while little indulgence is also okay.
But only rare once in a while not out of desire. One day you had it, you want to have it. Next day, next day you had it.
Third day also you want it. Not like that. So little indigenous is okay. You can have a Starbucks coffee and a little blueberry muffin once in a while. Every day you keep eating and eat you survive only on that. That's not right. You should be able to let go of it. Next day it's not available. Oh, I want it now otherwise I will not work. But I've seen people addicted to such things coffees and they cannot. So that is not these people's ways. There is a why I tell you is that see not to say anything but from the point of view that we will say oh are there people like this like Krishna Arjuna ask Krishna how are the Sitha how do they behave talk walk sit see Arjuna has not realized that Krishna himself is because Arjuna has loadishi Krishna has yoga dishi he thinks of Krishna also as a friend a comrade you know his own cousin and cannot think of Krishna as the god Supreme because he's seen Krishna getting angry, fighting with him, getting upset, you know, getting desirous. He has only seen that Krishna on the outside. He could never have the yoga dishi to see Krishna.
That's why Krishna says the dami I give you special eyes, special vision.
Now see who I am. And then when Arjuna gets the yoga dishi, he sees Krishna's visharupa. Then he realizes who Krishna is. So it's not given to everybody immediately.
The idea is that how do you know how a guani should behave and how can I be like that be that Arjuna who has the yoga dishi see how things are happening here in this very same place in the ash you have example not only in me in many people around they're living like yogis some are visible some are not but they're unaffected undisturbed absolutely peace and equanimous and great things get done by them because they have reached that higher state where none of these rules apply yet everything they do and God takes over and does through them that's why amazing miraculous things happen and they asked me yesterday what is a miracle how do you define a miracle I said miracle is that which humans cannot comprehend and it is beyond human capacity that's what we call as miracle but God's powers are infinite right like that everything looks like a miracle because ordinary people cannot comprehend it how can you not charge people how do you run these institutions? How long will you run it?
All these questions arise in their mind.
I don't I don't know. We don't charge because that's a principle and a policy.
How long I do not know as long as God wills. They don't like these answers.
They said no this is not logic. There is no rational behind you. Are you even a good leader? Are you do you know what you're doing? You're playing with the lives of so many people who are dependent on this. I I'm not doing anything. Everything God is doing and therefore I will just go with the flow.
That is the idea of the ghanis. And you have examples. So if you didn't have example you would know how does it know all the how this ashtakra gita applies are there people who are doing things like that are there situation in which this can be practiced you would think like that but here is right in front of you you are a part of it so enjoy this journey put efforts shatanam put efforts sincere efforts and attain that wisdom got it did we get an image ch version see that is what I said brahagyani means Charge GBT also thinks this is how it is but that is how it is now how it is that doesn't come from chart JPT
