Slot machine wheels are often weighted, meaning the probability of landing on each segment is not equal; this can be determined by comparing the actual average win to the theoretical average calculated from the wheel's segment values. In Super Times Pay Wheel Poker, the theoretical average win was 1,227.27 credits, but the actual average was only 733 credits, indicating that the wheel is weighted to reduce the chances of landing on the high-value 3,000 and 4,000 credit segments.

We Just Needed One Good Spin
Added:At the Seminole Hardrock on Super Times Pay Wheel Poker. We've not played this game in a long time. We're going to get a 4,000 credit wheel spin today. I can feel it in my bones. Starting off on some double double bonus with a lucky $7.50.
I I I can't remember if you can get the wheel on the deal and the draw here. I think it's just the deal.
But they changed it so if you get the Super [music] Times Pay feature um one of the numbers has been replaced with a wheel.
And you can get the wheel you can spin the wheel which there's a 1,000 2,000, 3,000, and 4,000 credit segment on the wheel. So you've got some chances at winning some big hands.
Multipliers awarded an average of 1.87 or one in 8.87 games.
Average multiplier of 5 and 1/2.
The wheel is awarded average of 1 in 30 spins and the average wheel spin is 733 credits. You get all that, Dad?
>> Yeah, it's all in my brain now.
>> Yeah, you bet.
>> [music] >> So one out of eight we're supposed to get this?
>> [music] >> Well, is this regular >> pretty much one out of nine.
>> Wasn't regular Super Times Pay one out of 15?
>> It is, but the regular Super Times Pay you're only betting one extra credit.
We're betting uh doubling our bet in this game.
So that's why they make it more often.
>> Double double.
>> I just did the same thing.
>> [music] >> Wheel. Wheel. Wheel.
What do you prefer the wheel. Wheel.
Wheel.
>> Yeah.
Oh, I thought we were going to get four of them.
>> Four 80? 100? Are we going to win? Yes, we are.
>> We're rich.
>> Oh, we won 80.
>> That's 60 credits. It's 80 credits.
80.
>> I lost count there. I got so excited that we had uh >> Big win.
>> A decent hand on 10 finish it out.
>> [music] >> Now, you let me know, Dad, when you want to switch [music] to triple triple, and I will make that happen.
>> No, thanks.
I kind of think this is wild enough.
>> No, it's wild and wacky multiplier.
Yeah?
>> Just saying.
We need something here.
>> Two more of them bad boys.
One more of them bad boys. Well, we [music] just went 0 for 20.
>> It'd be tough to come out ahead when you're going 0 for 20.
>> [music] >> Wheel. [music] Wheel. Wheel. Wheel.
Straight.
>> Not a straight.
>> No, it's a straight.
Uh-oh, we didn't do well last time with two deuces.
>> No, we went 0 for 10.
Oh, look at that.
Oh.
>> Uh that was a Yeah, that was better.
Nice little triple up there. That helped a bit.
Would have liked that fourth one.
[music] For uh what would that have been? 2,000?
>> Yeah, that would have been more helpful.
>> A fourth one is always more helpful, ain't it? Yeah.
>> Wait, where is the jack? Where is the king? Stop.
>> Wheel. Wheel. Wheel.
>> Ugly cards here. Great 9 9. 9 9.
Actually, 3 3 would be better.
>> Oh man.
Come on.
Oh no.
Oh, that was That was >> At least we didn't go over 10. It could have been worse.
>> Yeah.
There's a great great multiplier.
Maybe wheel. Wheel.
Deal [music] us something, please.
Oh boy.
>> $4,000 royal flush.
There are kings.
>> [music] >> Yeah, we won 20 credits.
>> You got one more there on the 4x than you did on the 10.
All we need is a winner and a multiplier.
>> Keep dreaming.
Why does it keep making that ding like that? I don't know.
>> I It's any anytime you get dealt a winning hand.
It also doesn't say we're betting 10 credits per hand, but we are, so.
Little quirk in this machine.
>> [music] >> Of course.
As soon as neither one of us mentioned it, it comes. I'll take it.
>> Right?
>> Yeah, double double. And now, you don't actually need to win to get the wheel.
I've gone over 10 when getting a wheel, and it still gave me the spin.
So, you don't actually need >> [music] >> 4,000 credits. Watch this. Thousand bucks.
Come on. Big money. Big money.
Big money. whammy.
Go go go go.
Still 150 bucks.
We're below average on the win though.
What did I say average win was 750?
Something.
>> 730 I thought.
What did I say? One out of 30 spins to get that?
>> Yeah, one out of 30 spins.
>> That was a good time for a 10 times multiplier.
>> Yeah, average win of 733.
>> 2500 credits for that.
>> We'll take it then.
So I wonder if that means it's an unweighted wheel.
>> [music] >> I'll keep playing. I'm going to do the math here and tell you if it's a weighted wheel or not.
>> Please do.
>> The way I'm going to do that is I'm going to add all of the wedges together and then divide by the amount of wedges on the machine to get the average. And if that matches their average, it is not a weighted wheel.
>> [music] >> It is a weighted wheel.
>> [music] >> If it was not a weighted wheel, the average win would have been 1200.
1227.27.
So, your chances of getting those three big winning segments is lower than natural.
[music] All right, you push that button. There you go. It's working.
Want to try a different game on here?
Do Deuces Wild Bonus, Triple Double, >> [music] >> Triple Triple.
I'm just waiting for the day they make Quadruple Double Bonus.
And I will be there cheering them on.
Wow.
10x Royal Flush Okay. Dream with that hand dashed on the rocks.
Loser.
I'm pouting now.
>> Look out, I'm back.
>> I'm pouting.
>> Yeah, you shouldn't pout.
I should pout too with hands like that.
>> [music] >> My goodness.
My goodness.
My goodness.
All right, that was the best I've done.
15 out of 100.
>> [music] >> I've improved.
Can I beat 15? Oh, I did. Look at this.
>> 25. Look out, world.
>> 25 out of 100.
Man.
All right, what's our other What other game can we play on here?
>> Let me get a spin in here. Oh, wait, I already had Wait, you have I was counting it out on my fingers.
>> Uh bonus poker deluxe?
>> Uh all right, I was going to go regular bonus poker, but yeah, let's do bonus poker deluxe.
>> Now let's see if all those numbers are still the same here.
Yes, four kings.
>> Is it a big multiplier? Oh, we got the real >> Give it a spin. Don't royal.
Fine, we'll get it the hard way.
All right, now your turn to spin the wheel, Dad. Go for it.
>> Big money, big money, big money.
>> I got 600. Can you beat me?
>> I hope so.
800.
>> You can beat me.
>> Here you go. 200 bucks.
>> I needed it.
>> We did need >> [music] >> See the four of a kind now?
100 bucks and four of a kind.
Four of a kind.
>> [music] >> All right, my turn. I'm coming back in here.
Mhm.
Mhm.
Mhm.
>> A dealt four of a kind would be nice.
I'm just throwing that out there.
>> Okay, why didn't I think of that?
>> I don't All right, I'm out.
That's it. So quick.
Leaving me to get the royal on my own.
>> Yes, I am leaving you to get the royal on your own.
>> One away. As usual.
It's probably like the 10th time today we have had the four of a kind.
All right.
All right.
If we get the wheel like five times in a row, I think we could do well on that.
>> You don't say.
>> I think that's the strategy you need to use in this game is to get the wheel.
>> Ah, yes, of course. [music] The winning strategy, get the wheel 10 times in a row. Oh, no, sorry, you only said >> [music] >> Ace, ace, ace, ace, ace.
Oh, ace, give me some ace, god sake.
Oh, man.
That's twice you've gotten it. Both times we were just dealt an ace.
>> You did better on this one.
>> Yeah, we did do better.
>> I thought for sure I was going running, running, running around Claude's there, 30,000 dollars.
You used to love this game, by the way.
You used to always ask me to play this.
>> to win on this, I think. But we used to win on a lot of games.
>> I was just going to say that.
>> It doesn't happen much anymore.
As they say, that's gambling. And what do I What else is there? I think you were one away up there, too.
Nice smoke.
>> 50,000 up there.
>> Just have to get it on the draw.
>> I wish that I won at least 25 credits.
>> Geez, Louise.
Man, this is a brutal losing streak we are on.
>> [music] >> Don't blame me for this game. I didn't pick this game.
>> No, I did. Let's try regular bonus poker. How about that?
>> Okay.
Sure.
Perfect time to switch.
Another wheel.
You deal us a hand, if you please.
All right. You spin that so we can get 4,000.
We need it.
Big money. Big money.
Big money. 3,000.
>> STOP. OH.
>> Big money.
That's what you got before, the first time.
Still $150.
>> Hey, we're not losing here.
Hooray, we're winners.
>> Damn.
This machine could have at least bought me dinner first.
Hmm.
>> [music] >> Wheel. Wheel.
Good multiplier. Wheel is something.
As usual, not much. We get a straight 160. Just need one.
Two.
Look at that. I'm a winner.
Wheel.
Oh, got it.
I get to spin it now.
I get to spin it now and get 4,000 credits.
You got two 600s. I got one 700.
>> No, I thought you had 800, didn't you?
>> Oh, yeah. 800.
Big money. Big money. Where's that 4,000? Uh-oh, it's going to 300. Get past there.
Ay, ay, ay.
>> Ah, at least it went past the 300.
>> average is 600. Your average is 600.
>> Oh, I guess it is, isn't it? How about that?
That was That's where we needed the wheel.
Yeah. And bonus poker deluxe.
>> Bonus poker deluxe, we needed that, yes.
But, we'll take it.
Beggars can't be choosers.
>> You've got that right.
>> Opponent is holding a hand with four.
I'm just got four deuces there holding an ace and a queen.
>> Uh it'd be a little hard to get four deuces holding an ace and a queen.
>> It would be, but if you had thrown the ace and the queen away, I'm sure you would have gotten four deuces.
Look out, I'm coming back in here.
So, it makes that different sound when you're dealt a winning hand, doesn't it?
>> Yeah.
>> Nope.
>> All right, I'll just have a chat with our friend the security guard.
>> Wow, not a single straight.
>> Wheel.
>> Wheel.
>> Fish.
>> Eight.
>> Deuce, deuce.
>> We we got >> Good multipliers, but we >> It would have been good in deuces wild.
>> We get dealt crap hands with the good multipliers.
>> 80.
80. There we go, 120.
>> Congratulations, you're a winner.
>> [music] >> I'm giving up already.
I don't blame you.
>> [music] >> Wheel.
>> Nice. You're doing good. Dealt a hand.
>> No.
>> There you go.
>> I'm a winner.
>> There you go, dad.
>> My god.
The garbage hands we had, that was pretty good.
>> Well, Dad, is it time we give up on gambling forever?
>> You may be right.
It's jack 10 here, isn't it? On bonus poker.
I'm not sure. It might be jack 10.
You don't have any interference.
We have interference on a straight with a seven, but not much.
>> Can't get any multipliers, not big multipliers like the guy next to us.
>> [music] >> You got dealt a flush with a 10 times multiplier.
How come you can't get a flush with dealt a flush with a 10 times multiplier, Dad? Oh, wait, we're done.
Here's your flush without the 10 times multiplier.
>> I think that was $618.75 losers cuz we started with an extra 750 there, so my goodness, we cannot win to save our lives.
>> What were you saying that was out of 22 videos or something? We have one one win and No, this is now >> 28 videos, 27 videos.
>> 27?
>> We've got two winning videos, I think.
>> And and the last winning video was $7.50.
>> Yeah, uh-huh, yeah.
Thanks everybody for watching. We'll catch you tomorrow.
