[00:00:03]Let's go. So, today we're going to be taking the integral from 1 to 4 of x [music] minus 2 over the square root of x. We're going to start by applying the rules of linearity [music] and we are going to split up this integral into two so that it is easier to [music] solve.

[00:00:19]From there, we're going to convert our square roots into rational exponents.

[00:00:24]This allows [music] us to then use the inverse power rule. This is a very important rule for [music] integration.

[00:00:32]We have to recall that we will be using the fundamental theorem of [music] calculus part two since we have a definite integral. Therefore, we just [music] have to plug in our limits of integration and subtract our lower limit from [music] our upper limits.
