The battle demonstrated the effectiveness of the 'Supit urang' (encirclement from two sides) tactical strategy, which allowed Indonesian troops to trap and force the retreat of Allied forces to Semarang, ultimately capturing Ambarawa and marking a significant victory in the early stages of Indonesia's post-WWII independence movement.
