Pluto’s nitrogen cycle elegantly dismantles the myth of the "dead" outer solar system, revealing a world more dynamic than many planets closer to home. It is a profound reminder that geological vitality is a matter of chemistry, not just proximity to the sun.

Pluto's Secret: A World That Never SleepsHinzugefügt:
Scientists just proved everything you know about Pluto is wrong. This frozen world 4.6 billion miles away is actually one of the most active [music] places in our entire solar system. When NASA's New Horizons spacecraft flew by Pluto in 2015, it discovered something totally unexpected. A giant heart-shaped region made of frozen nitrogen [music] that's actively driving Pluto's entire atmosphere. This heart, called Tombaugh Regio, functions like a massive convection engine.
During the day, nitrogen ice on the surface of evaporates and rises into the atmosphere. This creates wind patterns that circulate globally around the dwarf planet. Then, as night falls, something incredible happens. All that nitrogen freezes [music] back out and falls back to the surface.
This cycle repeats every single day, creating [music] a perpetual weather system. What makes this even crazier is that Pluto should be completely dead and frozen.
It's so far from the sun that temperatures [music] drop to -380° F.
Yet, this little world is more geologically and meteorologically active than scientists ever imagined. [music] Its heart-shaped ice plain is literally pumping an entire planetary circulation system, making Pluto [music] one of the most dynamic bodies orbiting our sun.
