In supernatural horror narratives, unresolved psychological trauma can manifest as supernatural entities that continue to harm victims, as demonstrated by the character Eric, whose childhood abuse and trauma transformed him into a supernatural monster (Nails) that continues to hunt vulnerable patients in a hospital setting, illustrating how psychological wounds can become supernatural threats that persist beyond death.

He Killed Himself in This Hospital and Became a Monster… So He Could Hunt New Victims ForeverAdded:
The film begins with a male nurse injecting a little girl with a needle, putting her into an unconscious state.
After that, he trims the girl's nails and puts them into a small envelope with her name on it. Then the nurse places his hands on her stomach and lays her down as if she were a corpse.
Then the action shifts to the main character named Dana, who wakes up early in the morning.
Dana works [music] as a track and field coach and her daily yoga sessions and runs help her stay in shape.
After warming up at home, Dana goes out for a run and suddenly she is hit by a car.
The driver simply drives away, leaving Dana lying unconscious on the cold ground.
Sometime later, Dana wakes up in a rehabilitation clinic where she discovers that the left side of her body is partially paralyzed and there is a tube in her throat, which prevents her from speaking.
With the help of her husband and hospital equipment, Dana learns to communicate by typing on a laptop.
The program predicts the words she is trying to say.
Dana's husband, Steve, also tells her that their daughter, Gemma, had been visiting her every day for the past 2 weeks.
That same day, Dana wakes up in the middle of the night after hearing strange sounds in her room.
She tries to signal for help because she is absolutely sure she is not alone.
Dana has no idea that a terrifying figure is standing in the corner, silently watching her.
The next day, Dana tells her personal nurse, Trevor, that someone was watching her in her room the previous night.
Trevor checks under the bed and even the closet to make sure no one is hiding there.
After finding nothing, Trevor comforts her saying that any hospital can create a strange impression on patients, but she has nothing to worry about because she is safe.
A few moments later, Steve and Gemma enter Dana's hospital room just as Trevor finishes bathing her.
Afterwards, their daughter paints her mom's nails while Trevor talks to Steve.
He tells Steve that the painkillers are causing Dana to have hallucinations, since she claimed someone had come to her, but no one walks around the hospital at night.
At the end of the conversation, Trevor advises Steve to find a psychiatrist for Dana, as it could be a panic attack.
After Trevor leaves, Steve starts a conversation about the events of the previous night, and Dana tells him that she is sure someone was watching her in the room.
Even though she couldn't turn her head, she heard someone breathing.
Dana also admits that she doesn't like this hospital, but Steve says they have no choice because it's the only place covered by insurance.
Meanwhile, Gemma is wandering around the hospital and ends up in an empty and creepy room where she accidentally meets the hospital director, Elizabeth Leeming.
After talking for a bit, Elizabeth leads the girl out of the creepy room.
At this moment, while talking to Steve, Dana blames herself and apologizes for causing her husband so much trouble.
>> [music] >> Steve calms her down saying she has nothing to apologize for because he would still prefer her over his first wife since Dana is much younger and more attractive.
Steve changes the subject and tells Dana about a new promising athlete named Ashley on the track [music] team whom he will be coaching.
Later that night, Dana begins to toss and turn in her sleep feeling that someone is watching her.
When she opens her eyes, the ghostly figure that had been following her the previous night suddenly covers her face with a pillow.
Dana wakes up from the nightmare and is surprised to see a doctor standing by her bed, staring at her intently.
It turns out the doctor was informed about Dana's problems with the room and her feeling of being watched.
The doctor shares his amazement at the fact that Dana was dead for 3 minutes after being hit by the car before the paramedics brought her back to life.
Dana tells him that she doesn't remember what happened after she was hit, but she heard voices around her, the voices of the dead.
She also felt them grabbing her, digging their nails into her skin, and pulling her down.
And now she feels that something is wrong with this place, but no one wants to listen to her.
Later left alone in her room, Dana types her thoughts on the computer before going to sleep.
And after she falls asleep, a terrifying figure emerges from the closet and turns off her ventilator.
But before losing consciousness, Dana manages to see the face [music] of this creature.
And at that very moment, Trevor and another doctor burst into the room to save Dana.
The next day, Dana tells her husband about the man with the strange face and long arms who turned off the machine.
For Dana's safety, Steve hires someone to install surveillance cameras inside and outside her room.
The cameras can be controlled from the laptop and she can zoom in or out using a joystick.
While learning how to use the cameras, Ashley calls Steve and tells him that she picked up their daughter from school.
Steve tells Dana about this and upon hearing it, she cannot hide her jealousy.
Their conversation is interrupted when they see the hospital director Elizabeth in the hallway. Steve steps out and threatens to sue her and the hospital if they don't take better care of Dana.
Elizabeth claims that the ventilator disconnection [music] was just a ridiculous accident, but Steve doesn't care. He just wants his wife to feel safe and get better.
After that, Steve leaves.
And after the conversation, Elizabeth goes and scolds Trevor for the equipment malfunction.
Trevor makes excuses and blames it on the bad wiring in the building, even showing the director a hole in the wall where rats live.
But Elizabeth refuses to accept this excuse [music] and blames him for nearly losing Dana.
Later that night, Dana noticed small reddish circles on her legs, which she thought were just a side effect of the medication.
While distracting herself, Dana flinches after hearing a knock on the wall.
She immediately types a message to communicate with the person in the neighboring room.
The patient behind the wall starts communicating with her through knocks.
However, when Dana mentions the strange man who almost killed her, the patient stops responding. After that, Dana spends time studying the hospital's history and discovers something disturbing.
She learns about the suicide of a nurse named Eric, who was suspected of murdering five girls in the hospital in 1984.
Even more disturbing is that Eric looks exactly like the man who turned off her ventilator. The next day, Dana asks Trevor about Eric, but he replies that he was still a child when the suicide happened. So, he sends Dana to a psychotherapist saying that he has been working at the hospital since the 1980s.
Afterwards, Dana asks him about the patient next door.
Trevor tells her that it's an elderly woman who had a stroke.
>> [music] >> He adds that no one ever visits the poor woman.
While Trevor prepares to wash her, he turns her on her side and Dana is horrified to see through the cameras that she has bed sores and scratches on her back, which she believes were left by the ghost that comes for her at night.
She starts panicking and getting hysterical.
With no other choice, Trevor gives Dana a sedative.
After watching her sleep, he closes the supply closet and barricades it with a wheelchair so it won't open anymore.
Later that day, the psychotherapist visits Dana and after hearing what happened, tells her about Eric.
The doctor says that Eric came to them in 1972.
He was constantly in foster families and was a victim of severe abuse.
The psychological trauma affected him so much that they had to keep his nails very short so he wouldn't tear his own flesh.
Over time, Eric got better.
Over the years, the doctor helped Eric heal his emotional and physical scars.
When Eric became an adult, he asked for a job at the hospital.
It seemed like Eric had recovered until they discovered his obsession with trimming the nails of child patients and collecting them in envelopes.
Because of this, Eric was given the nickname Nails by the hospital staff.
Soon after, while Eric was working as a nurse, an unusual series of child deaths occurred in the hospital.
Eric became a suspect when five little girls died.
The doctor believed that Eric had killed these children, thinking he was saving them from the same trauma and abuse he had experienced.
Although this was never proven, the suspect status drove Eric to suicide.
And when the doctor confirms that Eric hanged himself in the closet of her room, even greater fear takes hold of Dana.
With the onset of a terrifying evening, Dana talks to her daughter via Skype and learns that Ashley has been spending more time at their house with her family.
And after the conversation, later deep into the night, Nails appears from the closet and slowly approaches her.
Seeing him, Dana tries to get out of bed, accidentally setting off the alarm.
Trevor runs into the room at the signal, and the terrifying vision disappears.
The next day, Dana shows Steve the recording of the closet door opening, but he only worries that the cameras are intensifying her irrational fears.
Steve leaves the room and asks their daughter to stay with Dana while he talks to the hospital director and the doctor.
He shares that he doesn't know what to do, since Dana is convinced she saw Eric's ghost on the camera footage.
Meanwhile, Dana asks her daughter to question the old lady from the neighboring room about Eric, since the poor woman has been in the hospital for a long time.
Jemma decides to help her mother and quietly sneaks into the neighboring room and asks the elderly woman about Eric.
Suddenly, the old woman starts screaming at the girl, and she quickly calls her dad and the doctors into the room, but unfortunately, they are too late.
The old woman has a seizure and leaves the world of the living.
Later that day, Trevor nails the closet shut, making sure no one can get in or out.
But this is not enough for Dana, who begs him to help her escape from the hospital because Nails is not a person.
It is an evil entity that is hunting her.
However, Trevor refuses to help her and tells her to ask her husband to take her home instead of asking him.
Left alone, Dana begins to study why others, unlike her, cannot see the dead.
It turns out that when she died for about 3 minutes during the accident, she was with the dead.
That is why she can see Nails because she herself was once dead.
Meanwhile, Trevor comes to the director's office and admits that he really saw something in Dana's room when he saved her.
However, the director refuses to tell him anything about Eric.
She claims that Eric was too devoted to the patients to commit such a terrible act.
The next night, Nails takes control of Dana's laptop and repeatedly tells her that she will die in the hospital because no one will help her.
Then, Nails shows her a video of Steve and Ashley making love in their family home while she is in the hospital.
After that, Dana discovers new scratches on her legs, which makes her ask Nails what he wants from her.
But instead of appearing in front of her, the phrase I miss you appears supernaturally on her stomach, causing her to lose consciousness from hyperventilation.
At this moment, Trevor, hearing noise behind the walls, gets nervous and repeatedly hits the filing cabinet in the basement with a bat.
He opens a drawer thinking it's rats and accidentally discovers a folder with Eric's name. It contains all the files of the five little girls Eric was suspected of murdering.
But before he can read the documents carefully, he notices some interference on the laptop.
Approaching it, a live feed appears showing Nails climbing out of a hole in the wall and brutally killing him.
Later that night, Steve snaps at the head doctor after seeing the scratches on Dana's legs.
He thinks Trevor is getting handsy, but Dana insists on his innocence.
Steve becomes even more furious when the director decides not to call the police.
Elizabeth leaves the room, leaving Dana with her family and Ashley.
Steve shows her the folder that Elizabeth found in the basement. He suspects that Trevor is a crazy copycat.
The folder contains Dana's case from when she was a child and was admitted to the hospital with meningitis.
Steve also adds that Dana was admitted to the hospital at the exact time when Eric was supposedly kidnapping children, implying that Dana was supposed to be Eric's target. And now Trevor has come for her.
At this moment, Elizabeth returns to her office and contacts the police.
But Nails intercepts the phone call, after which he attacks her and kills her.
Meanwhile, in the room, Steve tells Dana that [music] she is crazy and belongs in a psychiatric hospital because Nails died a long time ago.
Then, Ashley intervenes in the family argument, defending Dana.
However, Dana suddenly lashes out at her, calling her names, and then tells everyone that Nails showed her a video of Steve and Ashley sleeping together.
Ashley apologizes and goes to the parking lot to wait for Steve and their daughter.
Steve does not deny the accusation, so Dana humiliates him for running away from problems.
In fact, Steve left his first wife for Dana.
And now he is leaving Dana for Ashley, who is much younger and more attractive than her.
Suddenly, the lights go out and Steve leaves them to find Ashley. Left alone with her only daughter, Dana tells her to run, but the girl refuses to leave her mother.
Seeing the determination on her daughter's face, Dana asks her to help remove the tube and put her in the wheelchair.
Gemma worries that mom will have trouble breathing without the machine, but Dana assures her that she will be able to breathe on her own.
Gemma does what her mother asked, and then finds the exit, pushing Dana in the wheelchair.
At the same time, Steve gets into the car and discovers Ashley, who has been possessed by Nails.
By the time he realizes that Ashley is possessed, it's too late. She attacks and ends the life of the cheater.
After that, Nails returns to the hospital, bringing terror to Donna.
Their daughter, pushing the wheelchair, immediately runs away, accidentally knocking over a patient whom Nails kills while passing [music] by.
Fortunately, Dana and Gemma accidentally meet the psychotherapist. [music] However, soon after meeting him, Nails catches up with them and kills the doctor, too.
The daughter tries to drag her mom as far away as possible, while Nails slowly approaches them.
As soon as the daughter gets through the door, [music] Dana locks her outside and says goodbye to her, then decides to face the monster alone.
All the daughter can do is cry and scream in agony, knowing that her mother is going to die.
She tries to open the door and watches as Nails lifts her mother into the air and throws her against the walls again and again until she dies.
>> [music] >> Sometime later, coming to her senses in the ambulance, Gemma tells the paramedic that the hospital is cursed and that Nails killed her mom.
The film ends with a vision in which Eric prepares to give Dana an injection while she lies on the hospital bed.
>> [music] >> Exactly the same way the children were killed in 1984.
The ghost will continue its existence, taking new lives, and perhaps there will be even more.
And with that, the film ends.
