Mirage to Hard Rock Hotel Transformation Update 05 20 2026

[00:00:10]Hello, this is Dunto.

[00:00:14]So today, as you can see, I am at the Hard Rock site.

[00:00:18]It is Wednesday, May 20th, 2026.

[00:00:25]So I am currently on the Caesar's Palace parking deck.

[00:00:29]wanted to get to the theater side here today to check out what's going on.

[00:00:36]And I do see a few of the crew walking up on what I would say is the roof of the of the theater up here. We can see a couple people.

[00:00:51]So that tells me that if we look underneath, obviously they're standing up there.

[00:00:59]They got that level enclosed.

[00:01:06]Right now it's about 11:20 a.m.

[00:01:19]Beautiful day today. Nice and sunny.

[00:01:22]Slight breeze.

[00:01:25]Probably about 80° right now.

[00:01:37]So I will go to the other deck to try to get a different view.

[00:01:42]You know, being this side here, we have a lot of the lower buildings in front of us.

[00:01:56]All right. When I was out on site here last week, I was on Las Vegas Boulevard and we were able to see that they had the dense glass on the this side of the wall here, the side facing north that we can't see. We were able to see it when I was out front.

[00:02:19]So, they got that north facing side pretty much enclosed now.

[00:02:28]And this side that we could see, this would be considered the south facing side.

[00:02:33]This is the side facing Caesar's Palace, obviously.

[00:02:44]And if we look at the tower here, we can see most of the black tarps are still moved out of the way. There's a couple levels that have have them going across, but not as much as they used to.

[00:03:01]Once we get to the other deck, we'll be able to see if they started putting any of the blue glass on this side. It doesn't appear like they have.

[00:03:11]I mean, obviously nothing on top, but maybe on the bottom it could be starting.

[00:03:20]And then we do have the yellow crane here. It was spinning around. So, we'll keep an eye on this and see if we could see what they're using to lift or what they're lifting.

[00:03:37]So, I'm just going to zoom in onto this the old tower here. We're just going to zoom in and I'll just pan around a little bit.

[00:03:47]See if anything pops up after it's downloaded.

[00:03:52]On this side, I can't see any anybody working inside there.

[00:04:04]So far, it seems like most of the action is the other side, the north facing.

[00:04:10]Yeah, the north facing side where uh that's that's what's actually on the Treasure Island side. I think earlier I said north facing for the theater. That's actually east facing wall. It's facing Las Vegas Boulevard.

[00:04:35]Okay, they just swung something around and I missed it.

[00:04:41]It got behind the wall, right? Or right right behind this little building before I saw what it was. So, we'll head over there in a little bit and we'll check it out.

[00:05:10]All right. So, this tower here just looks about the same. So, let's let's check out the guitar.

[00:05:20]So, look how good it's looking. They got most of the glass up.

[00:05:25]Not too much to go on this side.

[00:05:29]So, the one thing I'm noticing is right at the top on the right side there.

[00:05:37]So, we got the darker blue glass and how it kind of swirls around there like a little shape. And then now this side we got the lighter glass going in again.

[00:05:51]And then we do have one piece. It looks like it's trying to see if it's missing or if it's just uh different color glass.

[00:06:09]It's hard for me to tell if it's missing. It looks like there is something there.

[00:06:15]I can see behind you got I see that like reddish color stripe behind there.

[00:06:36]And then if we go up I haven't seen them installing glass on this tower for a long time.

[00:06:55]When they first started putting it on this side, I would see them lift lifting it like from the rooms a couple floors above and they would stick them out and mount them down in this area. But it's been a long time since I saw them lifting some now.

[00:07:14]Yeah, we're going to look up the top of the where they're building like the neck of the guitar. Looks like they were pumping some kind of concrete up there today.

[00:07:41]Okay, we can see the boom for the pump arm.

[00:08:07]Just trying to figure out it kind of looks like they're pumping it back inside. Might be how they kind of how they used when I see them doing it at like at the athletics ballpark. They'll start pumping it back into the one of the concrete trucks.

[00:08:28]I could be wrong, but you know, maybe they're done using it and they got to get all the concrete out of the arm before they store it.

[00:08:42]If anyone knows, let us know what's going on right there right now. Cuz it doesn't appear like they're pumping it into one of the forms.

[00:08:52]Unless, you know, unless there's something there that goes down into it.

[00:09:25]Well, we see how much they have done already on this.

[00:09:34]And then when I was here last week, that was the first time I saw them starting to put the, you know, different steel up over here.

[00:09:42]This would be the the west side of the tower here.

[00:09:51]So, it kind of looks like, let me zoom out a little. If we compare both sides, if you look there, they stopped, you know, about it looks like the same height on each one of them. I know it's going to curve up and around a little more, but not sure if that's how the steel ends.

[00:10:13]You know what else they'll do to shape it.

[00:10:29]Kind of looks like somebody's standing up there. Let me see.

[00:10:34]Yep.

[00:10:40]So, they got like the That's pretty good view from up there. I need to give them one of my cameras.

[00:10:53]I do follow a couple of the iron workers and they post a lot of Instagram.

[00:11:01]Pretty impressive the footage they put up, you know, from all this work.

[00:11:31]All right, we can see the west crane is starting to move right Yeah. So maybe they're still picking up steel to build this side here.

[00:12:05]And I want to check this other side.

[00:12:08]From here, it looks like some green thing is hanging over the side of the over here. I'm just trying to figure out what it is.

[00:12:19]You can see right there in the center.

[00:12:37]If anyone knows what that thing is, let us know in the comments cuz I have no idea.

[00:12:45]Is it some kind of shoot? They could drop stuff down in there, but it doesn't look like it really goes anywhere.

[00:13:20]So, not sure what it is.

[00:13:48]All right. You can see this person here.

[00:13:49]I don't know if they're welding or cutting something, but look at how how that is. I'm going to zoom out.

[00:14:00]Kudos to all you guys working on this project cuz that's pretty high up sticking out on that ledge right there.

[00:15:17]Okay. Another thing I noticed here, I saw this when I was here last time when I was walking down on the Las Vegas Boulevard out front. We're able to see what appeared to be like a small tower crane base going in. And if we look down this way, we can see now we do have a little tower crane.

[00:15:43]So, they were taking apart that yellow crane that was out front lifting all the iron to build all this front area. And now we got a little crane out front, I guess, just cuz there's no room anymore for them to, you know, have that crane in place. The crawler There you go. We got a crane there. They aren't I haven't seen it move since I've been here, but it's all set up.

[00:16:41]All right. Before I leave this this uh location, I want to zoom in on the side here where we got like keep saying they're balconies, but I don't think they're going to be balconies now. The more I'm looking at or they could be. Let's just see what they're doing. They're starting to put a lot of uh All right, we still have this with this uh tan looking tarp stuff, but then up here we can see.

[00:17:12]All right, looks like they got a divider wall right between the center. So, could that be the two different rooms, one on each side?

[00:17:23]And then down below, the way they got the steel studs going around just the base, you know. So, could this be a balcony maybe? And then the floor above it also.

[00:17:52]So maybe they are balconies. That's still curious.

[00:18:02]And then we do have some of the some more of the glass that is going in on the side here.

[00:18:13]Trying to figure out what they're working on in there.

[00:18:16]Are they lifting glass? Could be.

[00:18:20]You have that right there. They might be putting this glass in that's right right below for all I'm wondering.

[00:19:09]So, I'm going to keep an eye on these guys. See if we could see something. But that could be these pieces of glass is getting lift up.

[00:19:27]If we look underneath, it appears like one little section is missing.

[00:19:38]Or does that slide open?

[00:19:51]right there. It kind of looks like it slides in there.

[00:20:02]Interesting.

[00:20:10]If I had to guess, I would say that is a piece of glass and it does move.

[00:20:14]You know, maybe because it's on that top part, they could kind of vent it open. I don't know.

[00:20:40]Now, this might be glass that's wrapped in this uh shrink wrap right here.

[00:20:45]There's a couple different ones.

[00:21:06]Oh, sorry for that shake.

[00:21:09]Just trying to seeming what they're doing with this.

[00:21:31]It's hard for me to make out, but they might have finished just, you know, putting some of this lower glass in.

[00:21:53]If you can't see the brackets, they have some of the brackets on that level there.

[00:22:03]All right. There's something open. Is that the glass in there?

[00:22:24]Might be You can see the east crane has is starting to turn.

[00:22:57]And it is lowering its cable down. It looks like it's going down that northeast facing side.

[00:23:14]All right, I'm going to swing around again. We're picking up something with this yellow crane.

[00:23:23]before it gets out of out of our view.

[00:23:33]Some kind of piping All right. So, I'm going to make my way over towards the other deck. We'll see if we get any different views and what's going on.

[00:24:15]on the on that side by the theater.

[00:24:20]So stay tuned. Okay, I just moved to the other deck.

[00:24:26]I'm not at the one corner I normally go to, but from here we could get a good view of some of this theater area.

[00:24:40]So we do have a crew that is doing something up on the roof there.

[00:24:58]might even be break time for all we know.

[00:25:01]Let me look what time it is. It might be around noon.

[00:25:15]All right. So, what I noticed though, it looks like we got like some kind of of the either air handling units or HVAC, you know, something up here.

[00:25:28]And then, not sure what they're doing below it. We can see how they got the tarps wrapped around that level.

[00:25:40]And then from the looks of this, this level looks like it's going to be all outside.

[00:25:46]If you look at the steel going up above, there's nothing on this level here. So, looks like there's some kind of, you know, deck up on the roof.

[00:26:11]Okay, we can get a good look of that new mini tower crane there.

[00:26:29]Heat up here.

[00:27:02]All right. It does appear like it is moving right now.

[00:27:06]Let me like lock into place and we'll see if it's when I was zoomed in on it. I had the illusion that it was moving, but as I'm looking at the cable against the backdrop of the Venetian, it doesn't look like it's moving.

[00:27:47]It looks like they might be lifting the Guess I got to zoom in a little more.

[00:28:05]Nope. It doesn't look like the cable's moving at all.

[00:28:12]All right. But while we're looking this way, let's let's check out some of the steel work that's going up here.

[00:28:25]If you saw my last video when I was out here, I did find the last piece of steel, the one everybody signed.

[00:28:35]It was close to uh close to the corner over here by Caesar's Palace by this old Mirage sign.

[00:28:45]If you check out that video, you'll be able to see where I found it.

[00:28:50]It's they painted it like white colored and everybody signed it up. So, you know, I originally thought it was going to be at the top of the guitar tower, but it's down on this front front area that they're building.

[00:29:10]Let's check out this plane. See if we could zoom in on it.

[00:29:20]moving pretty quick.

[00:29:23]All right, let me go to the other end of this deck so we could check out down into the we can see ground level down that way.

[00:29:38]Okay, I just moved down. I'm on the other corner. Just wanted to show up here. We can see now that they have the boom arm for the concrete pump up top.

[00:29:49]And it does look like they're pumping into all those to that form up there.

[00:30:13]Okay. Looks like he's using the vibrator to get all the air pockets out.

[00:30:20]Oh, we got the crane just went by.

[00:30:39]Then we do have some other people working on the very corner here again.

[00:30:52]Kind of looks like they're putting up the safety uh the safety fencing up there.

[00:30:59]That's what it looks like. These pieces of steel All right. So, we got that. But as I was walking up, I got a little excited to see something. I guess I'll share it with everybody right now.

[00:31:37]But let's check out this uh Mirage Tower.

[00:31:43]You should notice something a little different.

[00:31:53]There you go. Look at the bottom couple levels.

[00:32:01]It looks good. It From here, it kind of looks more of a greenish blue tint.

[00:32:12]I mean, it just might be all the reflection off of all the dirt and everything down here just looking different, but it's looking good. We got two levels up and we can see how they're, you know, you got the main glass and then how in between they have the little darker panel. I do see a few people working up there. Let's see if we can find them and then see if they're the ones hooking it up right now.

[00:33:34]So, I don't have time today to go to the Treasure Island side. So curious if they start putting it in on both sides or not cuz that side looked like it was ready before this one was. But we're probably doing both.

[00:33:56]All right. While I'm here, let's I want to check out We have the crane. They got some stuff here.

[00:34:03]Looks like it's in some crates.

[00:34:20]Looks like they're picking it up with this loader.

[00:34:37]Curious as what they could be, how they got them kind of in crates there.

[00:38:34]All right. So, whatever that is is going in. But I got to I want to go back to this other tower. I do see them moving some glass right now. So, let's I want to see how they're putting these in here.

[00:38:46]All right. But we can see they're doing like they did with the guitar, what I was talking about earlier, how they drop them down from the floors above So, it should clamp onto the bottom somehow.

[00:39:30]They can't focus on the glass.

[00:39:52]If you look at the setup, it does look like what I was looking at on the guitar tower on that skinnier side.

[00:40:06]There you go. We got glass going in.

[00:40:11]Guess you need a little extra a little extra push to get it to set in place.

[00:40:56]All right. So, they go in pretty fast. I want to see where they're dropping it down from.

[00:41:17]All right. So, it looks like it's two floors up. We could see some more of the glass.

[00:41:22]I'm sure that's it right there in that crate.

[00:41:30]So, they're dropping down from two floors up. It looks like at least I'm trying to figure it out cuz it looks like there might be glass there as well. But I think he might be putting in they're working on getting something mounted. It looks like there still.

[00:41:55]All right. So, we got the glass going in. That's the big news today.

[00:42:02]You figure they got less than a year and a half to get this thing completed if if it's, you know, still on track for the fall of uh 2027 cuz they got to get all this glass in and then start remodeling those rooms.

[00:42:24]All right, they're lifting another one of them skinny crates that they're bringing up to the roof.

[00:44:05]So, the way they pick it up and then it's kind of like I guess it'll slide out. It looks like it's on like some kind of a little cart or roller.

[00:44:18]Of course, we got the crane. It's going to get right in our way.

[00:44:27]So, I'll hang out a little bit. But I want to watch and see what they're going to do with this one.

[00:44:35]And maybe the crane will move by the time they're ready to lift it.

[00:45:49]So They're getting that other part for the crane hooked up right now.

[00:46:14]So, it's actually a pretty quick process. So, you see how they have that where they lift it up and it just slides out and looks like they're going to swing it around. I think it's Yeah. So, there you go. They're swinging it around now. We could see the the bluish tint, which looks more like a teal to me.

[00:46:39]Then they'll just lower it down into place and mount it on the brackets.

[00:46:46]All right, this yellow crane is going up. You can see the load going by. So, they should start swinging out of the way there.

[00:48:02]All right. So, it's going quick. I wonder, you know, when they started this.

[00:48:08]I mean, they might be able to do the one or two rows a day.

[00:48:17]We can see when they do start lifting it into place, they get it hooked up pretty pretty quickly.

[00:48:35]kind of looks like they're going from up way up here controlling it.

[00:48:40]I don't know. I can't see the cable, but kind of hard to figure out cuz I don't see like an arm sticking out on the viewfinder.
