New ** Hashimoto’s Health UpdateAdded:
It's warm outside. Spring is springing.
I got some flowers. I got tomatoes. The garden started.
I'm ready. I'm ready for garden season cuz like I said, it's hot.
Guess who the sponsor of today's video is? It's Element, my electrolytes of choice. Still to this day, my favorite is this one. This is the raw unflavored.
It has no flavor whatsoever. It's just salty and it is my favorite. I put it in sparkling water and this is my go-to.
However, I do very much enjoy the slim cans. I don't like the bigger ones. These taste better to me. This is the pineapple. It's my favorite of the flavors. This one and the lemonade packet are my favorite flavors. However, they did just come out with their seasonal flavor, pink lemonade. Same formula as the rest of the packet. So, you get the,000 milligrams of sodium, 200 of potassium, 60 of mag, no sugar. I love these. I have not tried the pink lemonade yet. I'm going to try it later today probably.
I loved the lemonade last year which was also seasonal and they ended up keeping it.
So, who knows if they'll keep this one or not. But for now, they are limited edition. So, if you want to give it a try, go snag some pink lemonade. And while you're at it, use my link. I'll put it on the screen and in the description. It'll give you a free sample pack. And in the sample pack, you get the raw unflavored, so you can try it out because a lot of people are really scared to try this one because it's not flavored. Um, but it comes in the sample pack. So, try it. I think it is a like the more you drink it, the more you get used to it. But the link on the screen will get you that free sample pack with any purchase. So, go grab some lemonade or some pink lemonade for summertime. Tell them I sent you. Thanks to Element for sponsoring today's video.
I thought it was time for a health update. I am filming on my phone. Sorry if it looks funny. So, little recap. In February of this year, I had my breast implants taken out. I had a full capslectomy. They took all the scar tissue, everything, sewed me up. Boom. I felt like absolute trash. You can go back and watch that. I have a video that covers the actual surgery day. I have a video that was like I think one week posttop where I was just basically broke down and I have Hashimoto's. I have an autoimmune disease. It has been in remission for years. Because of the surgery, it flared me up. I had a massive flare up. I had no energy. I was obviously in pain. My brain fog was back. Uh, I just felt terrible and I felt like I used to back when I was as sick as I've ever been, which I was diagnosed with my autoimmune disease in 20 17, I want to say. Pretty sure it was 2017. And I had my breast implants.
They were 13 years old when I had them taken out almost to the day.
So today I am March, April, two months posttop and I have pretty much gotten back to my normal self with a few things like my weight is still up about five pounds from what I was before I had surgery.
um haven't been able to exercise, so I'm kind of down in the dumps. Had a lot of We have a lot of stress. We're building a house. Like, there's a lot of things that are keeping me from feeling my best, I'm sure. However, I did go back to really, really strict, meat-based, and I was eating barely anything other than meat. I was eating mostly beef and sardines for about a month. And I think that really helped me get back on my feet.
I was taking extra vitamin D3 K2. I was taking extra iodine. I was taking extra electrolytes.
Um resting, really focusing on my sleep, trying to keep my stress down. Easier said than done.
And so I'm currently still five pounds up, which like whatever. Have been cleared to be able to start doing my weightlifting again. So, that's exciting. I'm um excited to get back doing that. I have most of my energy back. All of my back pain and my neck pain is still gone, which hallelujah, that was really what I was hoping I would get out of having these breast implants taken out.
They were pretty large. You can see in the previous video how big they were um for my tiny frame. I'm 5 foot two.
I'm I'm a tiny person. I was not God did not make me to have big boobs. All right. And then I did that and it really caused a lot of pain.
Um I went for my appointment last week to see my surgeon. He said everything looked great. My scars are healing really well. I don't have any issues whatsoever. Everything's going exactly how it should. Um he just said, you know, the scars are going to take about a year to fully heal. Don't get in the sun in something that shows the scars, which I wouldn't anyways. But other than other than that, I am healing perfectly. And so that's really exciting. The only thing I have lingering is a little nerve pain. It's totally normal and expected when you have any kind of surgery. And the nerves are severed. They have to regrow. that can cause you to have like little zingers. This side is worse.
This side I have no problems with. This was my problem side when I had the implant. So, all of my neck pain was on this side and all of my back pain was on this side of my spine. Um, clearly it was muscular. I was afraid I had like a bulging desk, like something structurally wrong, I thought. But obviously now that I am not having that pain, it was clearly muscular, maybe something in the nerves, some something unclear what was causing all the pain over other than it just being too much weight on my front and not being able to compensate um that with my frame. So, what else?
Um, yes. So, I'm back to my normal diet now, which is just beef. I I do consume sardines, not for any other reason than I They're really good for you. Um, I'm not doing a sardine fast. I never have.
I probably never will. I don't see the point in that. I actually enjoy eating sardines now. I use the Fish Wife. I do have a discount code, by the way. I'll put it in the link. Uh, I'll put the link in the description for Fishwife.
and my just my normal like barbecuing meat on the grill, chicken, pork chops. I do eat chicken and pork and pickles, onions, tomatoes. It's garden season, so that's exciting. I have a lot of herbs growing in the garden. Have dill, cilantro, I have chamomile, chamomile growing, and it's ready to pick. I may make a tea with that sometime this week because it just bloomed out. Uh I grew that from seed. I'm very proud of myself. I have tomatoes, uh cucumbers, and a few other things growing in the garden. Obviously, there's no fruit on there yet. We're in very early season of gardening, but I'm very excited to start making my salads and stuff that I normally make when it's this time of year.
Anything else I need to tell you guys?
Um, yeah, that's pretty much it.
I We're going to Meet Stock next week, so I will probably try to vlog while I'm there. If I see you there, say hi. I will look like an angry person. That's just my face. I'm not mean. I'm pretty nice. Uh, but if you see me looking like Killian Murphy, that's just my face and I can't help it.
Uh, but I'm pretty excited to go because we're it's uh being held in Gatlinburg.
It was held there last year. I didn't go last year. Ken did. Uh, I'm going this year. We're taking the kids. We're going to go to Dollywood obviously while we're up there. We're going to stop at Bies.
I know it's a lot of people don't think BIES is that good. I I quite enjoy BIE barbecue brisket myself. So, I'm excited to go eat all the things. Dollywood, it's not really that hard for me to stay on plan.
They're very accommodating.
However, if I want to eat something that is not healthy, I'm gonna because that's how I roll. And I'm sorry if you don't have to do that and you can disagree that that is okay, but I do and I'm fine with it. I'm gonna I'm gonna maybe have a corn dog at Dollywood. We'll see. Um we're gonna They have a pool. We're staying at the Dreammore Hotel, which is one of the hotels at Dollywood. They have a big pool and they have really good food by the pool. And last year, was that last year? I don't know. Last time we were there, um, they had these chicken nachos and I was just like, "Can you just pile all the toppings in the chicken and leave off the chips?" And they said, "Sure." And that was one of the best things I've had in a long time. So, I'm really excited to have chicken nachos by the pool again. They have really good burgers. It's just it's not that hard to stay on plan, but like I said, if I decide that I'm going to have a little treat, then I'm gonna have a little treat. Whatever. So, yeah. I think that's pretty much um I'll show you from the side. This is what I look like now.
Flat as a flitter. I was actually flatter than this before I had breast implants. I actually have more now because I breastfed two kids, obviously.
So, there's a little more tissue there.
And yeah, I really love how my clothes fit now. I love shopping for clothes again. I had kind of stopped caring. not caring. I just didn't like how I looked.
Everything looked a little more um I just looked like I was trying a little harder than I actually was up here. And so now I can wear cute little dresses and it's not all boob. And I really like that. I'm excited to wear all my summer dresses. And yeah, so uh I guess I will see you guys at Meattock if you're going. And if I don't see you there, I'll see you back here on YouTube. All right. Uh, if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments.
I think I pretty much covered everything. Um, my doctor's name is Dr. JJ Wendle. He is out of Nashville. He was amazing. The whole team is amazing.
I absolutely loved every single person that I dealt with during this process. I have zero complaints. would highly recommend if you are someone who is looking to have um an expplant surgery or really anything that has to do with plastic surgery done. He was amazing. His nurses were amazing. The surgery staff was amazing. 10 out of 10 would recommend if you have to. Uh but if you don't, then you know.
Okay, guys. I will see you in the next one. Love you. Mean it. Bye.
