Yes, Mombasa is a city located in the coastal of Kenya. And guys, Mombasa is a beautiful city and on a crazy day I'll be giving you a detailed tour of this beautiful city of Mombasa. As you know, Mombasa is a city with a rich history.
Its rich history shaped by trade and cultural exchange founded around the 19th century AD.
It became an important Swahili port on the Indian Ocean facilitating trades between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. The city was influenced by various cultures including Arabs, Portuguese, and British resulting [snorts] in a unique blend of languages, cuisine, and architecture.
Guys, in the late 15th century the Portuguese arrived seeking to control trade routes leading to series of conflicts with the local leaders.
By the late 17th century Oman Arabs took over establishing Mombasa as the as the capital of the Sultanate of Oman East Africa possessions.
In the 19th century Mombasa fell under British control rule becoming a key administrative and economic center.
The arrival of Ugandan railway in the late '80s further boosted its significance linking it to inland trade route.
Today Mombasa is known for its historical sites such as Fort Jesus, Old Town, beautiful beaches but like where I was in Diani and vibrant cultures making it virtual tourist destination in Kenya.
