A stark reminder that in the digital age, even a life-threatening infection is framed as a narrative for public consumption. While the cautionary message is vital, the spectacle of documenting one's own sepsis highlights the performative nature of modern vulnerability.

Added:What it do? It's your favorite Texas boy and we back with another video. If you're new to the channel, please like, subscribe, comment.
Check out all the past content. It's been all on Puerto Rico.
As you can see, I messed up.
Uh what's going on everybody?
Um I haven't posted in a while. I've been taking care of some things. Uh but then lately I've had this little health issue um inside my tooth, inside my mouth.
Um I've had a bad tooth for a while, but um over the past week and a half it has started to cause me major issues as you can tell.
My face is swollen.
Uh and so the purpose of this video uh I just checked out of the ER handling my first stage of treatment.
Um so this this um video is going to be more so about my experience at the Ashford Presbyterian Hospital in Puerto Rico and what it's like. Um Ashford Medical Lab.
So I'll just walk around a bit.
Um so this is their hospital here, uh the main hospital in Condado.
Um the ER is back that way.
And so um like over the past 2 weeks, now mind you, let me say this tooth has not really given me any problems over the past couple years. Um even though it kind of chipped off or whatever, it wasn't really giving me any issues until like this past month.
Uh I remember about a month ago uh I had ate some food or something and it must have hit something and it felt like it struck a nerve.
It felt like it struck a nerve, but you know, I kind of overlooked it. Whatever, whatever.
Um and kept going. Sorry, guys. I'm still walking.
There's a pharmacy that's connected to the hospital.
Um and so, yeah.
I'mma get back to my story in a second, but this is Ashford Presbyterian Hospital.
It's right off the main street, Ashford Avenue, in Condado.
Um if you ever want to know where it's at, you can see these big signs right off the side of the street.
Um and it says Ashford all over. But anyway, I was having issues with this tooth, whatever, but it wasn't giving me main problems, so about a month ago, I remember I hit something, it felt like I hit a nerve, but then the pain kind of went away.
Um after about 2 weeks, or about 2 weeks ago, I started to just have like a a lingering like a lingering aggravation. It wasn't like a pain so much.
It was just like a lingering feeling.
Like it's like, "Damn, I can feel something there, but it doesn't hurt. So, I'm not paying it much attention. I'm not paying it much mind."
Uh and I'm just like, you know, going through my days, going through the motions. I've been dealing with a lot this past month, been going through a lot, trying to take care of things, so yeah. Uh so, anyway, so I'mma sit down for a second. This this thing is really hurting my head ah right now at the moment. [Â __Â ] Um but anyway, so yeah, as you guys can see, it's started to swell.
Um it's swollen all on the inside of my mouth. I can't really show you guys that, but um there is a nice amount of swelling.
This is also why, you You this is going to keep me off camera a little bit, but um but yeah.
So, it started swelling, but over the past 5 days, it started becoming excruciating.
Um I started to be able to see my face swell up from the outside.
Um as you guys can see, my jaw is very different than what it looks like in my past videos, for sure. Or even you could just see this side is way more swollen than this side.
And I could barely speak. I got pain running all through my head. And so, um my tooth has re- What happened is I just had a fast abscess.
Uh and so, the abscess has shown up really fast, and so, I have to go to a dentist on Monday.
Um I have to go to a dentist on Monday tomorrow and try to get it drained out and and fixed and see if they can pull that bad tooth and just go ahead and get the root out of there.
Um but I want to talk about my experience at after Presbyterian Hospital.
Uh it was actually very pleasant. Um when I So, I after I couldn't take the pain anymore, I went through a whole bottle of Advil uh in a night, basically.
Um I was like, I got to go to the to the ER.
So, I went to the ER.
Um I just got here this by probably about 2 hours ago, maybe about 2 hours ago.
Um the sign-in process was actually very simple. It was very um easy. It was digital.
Uh you just type in your name, date of birth, um all your little information, what you want them to know about what's going on, etc., etc. Uh [Â __Â ] It hurts.
Um and yeah, and then they sit you down.
Uh I was in the ER, so it probably wasn't as crowded as maybe like a regular lobby might be. So, I haven't been to the regular lobby, but the ER probably had a couple people in there.
Um they get you registered really fast. Uh it probably took me I sat down probably for about 10-15 minutes.
But, I had to go up to registry.
Um and then after registry, I probably sat about another 30-45 minutes.
I probably sat about another 30-45 minutes at registry um in order to get to the back to talk to a doctor. Um so, I got back there. The doctors and all the nicest and nurses were very polite.
Um and you know, they kind of told me what was going on, what they had to do.
Uh so, for today, um I've got my my paperwork on my paperwork that fell on the ground over here.
I'm sorry. I'm so out of it, guys.
So, what they ended up doing for me today, uh you know, they assessed my situation.
Um and so, basically, I was up at Ashford Hospital, right?
And so, they basically prescribed me some antibiotics.
Um now, the funny part, I did have to just get two shots in my butt.
Two shots in my ass. Yes, and they hurt like a [Â __Â ] Uh I can't remember what they were. It's Toradol, and then one of them is an antibacterial which is supposed to help start breaking down um any type of you know, sickness that has spread through my body or spread from here, and it's supposed to start working on this as well.
Um they also gave me a um a prescription which I'm about to go pick up um to take an antibiotic to take by mouth uh to go along with the two shots in the behind in the butt. So, um yeah. Uh it was very smooth, very clean. The shots did hurt, but they was, you know, they they look very clean. They look like they had everything together.
Um nothing much for me to worry about. I felt like it was a nice, safe, and clean process.
Uh I'm about to be on my way to the pharmacy to try to see if I can to see if I can pick up a prescription. I don't know if any are open today. Uh but we going to try.
We going to try, but I want to say that overall this initial experience with the Ashford Presbyterian Hospital has been good. Um now I know there's always been stories about the health care system here and you know, how much they can really provide for certain injuries. Uh I can say this is a non-life-threatening injury at the moment. It could become life-threatening if I may let it go further or if there's something that we missed. So, I'm going to stay on top of that. I still have to go to the dentist tomorrow. Uh but it's good that I caught it now because they said it is getting kind of far cuz once you get to the facial swelling part, uh when it comes to like tooth abscesses and stuff like that, that falls under the lane of sepsis.
Um and sepsis is very dangerous to the body. So, you want to really pay attention to that.
Um if anybody has any tooth issues or anything like that going on, um once it starts getting the facial swelling, I will I it done gone too long for me. So, I'm trying to be on the clock here, but I just want to keep y'all updated.
Uh but yeah, so I got the two shots, one for the pain, one antibacterial.
Got them in the behind, and now I'm about to go to Walgreens or any pharmacy and see can I get the necessary medicines um to make this better. So, again, guys, as you can see, my face is completely swollen at this point.
Uh yeah. It's hard to talk and see myself like this, and my head hurts excruciatingly, so yeah.
Um I'm about to head to Walgreens, try to get this this taken care of, but I hope you can see. This is why I've been kind of doing my thing, staying away. But I'll be back soon, guys.
Thanks for all the support and love.
And shout out to the Ashford Presbyterian Hospital in Puerto Rico.
What's going on, guys?
So, follow up with the last video, just to finish off. So, I got my medicine.
Uh they gave me some antibiotics.
Uh they gave me a mouthwash.
Um and then they also gave me this probiotic substance. So, again, this is all just to handle this swelling and abscess and whatever else is in there. I still actually have to go to the dentist tomorrow.
Um the hospital is not They do not do mouth work. They leave that to dentist surgeons and stuff like that. So, um I still have to go to a dentist tomorrow, and hopefully they ain't hopefully get this process taken care of tomorrow, whether that be surgery or removal of the tooth, um whatever the case, but I got to get this out of here because this pain is beyond excruciating.
Uh I can't lie. I can't even think right now. I'm just trying to keep you guys updated.
Um but yeah, toothaches are not a joke.
Uh when they tell you to get them taken care of, please get it taken care of, so you're not going through what I'm going through right now.
Um I hope y'all have a rest of day. Um good rest of the day.
I'm about to finish taking my medicine.
I want to take these medicines and none of them are painkillers, so I had to go get a bunch of Advil.
Cuz Advil seems to be the only thing that hurts the stops the pain a little bit. I've tried to leave, I've tried Tylenol.
And nothing works.
Um so Advil, I'm going to see if that helps a little bit, but yeah.
Tooth pain is something different, so hope y'all enjoying your day.
I'll get back on when I can get things fixed and I'm feeling better. And y'all see the next video drop. Thanks for supporting me.
Uh thanks for the love.
If you want to send some help, let me know.
