The Old Duck Pond, 1 Year Later - What It Looks Like NowAdded:
All right, YouTube. How's it going? John here with Dig That Beep, and I'm just doing a little follow-up video. If you watch the channel, you probably are familiar with the old duck pond. It's a local pond here in Anderson, South Carolina, known as Cater's Lake. And for many years, it's needed some renovations. And about a year ago, last end of last April 2025, they started doing renovations. Well, they started doing renovations before that, but that's when I decided to go out and metal detect because they were draining the pond down to make repairs and just to see what was there because the pond has been around forever. Turns out there was some really cool stuff at that spot.
The first time out there, I started finding cool things. The very first thing I found was my favorite dog tag I've ever found. I think it was 1932 from Anderson County. It was a dog tax tag and not Arabia's vaccination tag, which is what we typically find there.
But the v videos from that spot were just awesome videos. We ended up finding several pieces of silver, silver jewelry, gold jewelry, uh women ladies engagement set, the whole set, three rings, 14 karat gold with diamonds, people I guess just ending their relationships, their mayor just throwing the rings in the pond. Really cool spot.
But the first time, the first video from that spot actually went viral in the course of a year. It got over a million views and gained our channel over 3,500 subscribers from watching that one video. Crazy numbers. Um, I could tell early on the video was different than any other video I'd posted. At one point it was getting like 3 to 4,000 views per hour, which is just crazy numbers. Our videos average 5 to 10,000 views per video, let alone getting that many views per hour. Just insane. But anyways, I'll link all the videos from that spot in the description of this video. The one that went viral will be the first one you see in the list in the description of this video. But me and my son just went out, flew the drone over the duck pond so you guys can see what it looks like now. A complete transformation that they've done a phenomenal job of renovating the duck pond. Very beautiful place now. Um, but I just wanted to share that with you guys. Just do a one-year followup on the old duck pond videos. Can't thank all of you guys enough for watching. If you could check us out on Patreon, it helps out making our content. If you need metal detectors or equipment, reach out. I'll save you money. If you enjoy our videos, make sure you give them a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, and turn on that bell for notifications because it's free. All right, guys. Peace.
Hey, hey, hey.
